"I'm not dead, idiot," came a hoarse voice from somewhere behind Bix. Gale's head was hanging down, his forehead pressed against the rifle he was still holding vertical. "At least, not yet."
Whether or not he would last another five minutes had yet to actually be seen.
"I can't believe you missed," he went on, still without lifting his head. It seemed that it would take too much effort to do so, Gale's vision swimming in and out, his breathing labored. "How are you supposed to avenge my death if you can't even catch the target? I swear, Bix, I'm coming back to haunt you."
Despite the words, it was clear that Gale held no ill feelings towards the older hunter - after all, he was probably the closest thing to a best friend Gale had on the island.
He completely ignored the mocking of the fire elemental; she wasn't worth his time, after all.Quote: Target: -- Capture: -- HP: -4/40 [Gale is a Hunter Trainee] Fear/Charge Attack: Sniper Rifle - Diamond Dragon of Fucanglong: For a limited time, when Jin is shot, tiny ribbons of crystallized ice twist around with the bullets, giving them more force and causing more discomfort to the target. Gale uses The Battle Cry.

The frost demon wasn't about to miss this time - oh no. Edel, still in a state of cold, silent fury, had formed a sword out of ice and swept towards the beaten down hunter. She was going to finish the job.
A pair of cold, blue eyes stared down at Gale.
The sword was raised and it came down. The hunter would find himself just moments away from death.
The frost demon wasn't about to stand over Gale and watch him die, so she returned to where Vieve and Lizzy were standing, poised to resume the fight. Quote: Target: Gale Damage: 5 HP: 30/30 Fear: The Barrier, NA here

He had forgotten something very crucial in all of his whining about dying and teasing Bix about coming back to haunt him. Fingers fumbling in the neck of his shirt, beneath the burned scarf, Gale dug out something hanging around his throat.
He would not have a chance to use it - the attack from the ice demon coming his way was evidence enough of that - but a sideways glance at Tika would be enough. Gale raised his eyes just in time to meet the ones of the female hunter.
"Bix. Don't forget to kick their pathetic asses for me."
The entire world tilted and his vision slid into complete blackness. Quote: Target: -- Capture: -- HP: -9/40 [Gale is a Hunter Trainee] Fear/Charge Attack: Sniper Rifle - Diamond Dragon of Fucanglong: For a limited time, when Jin is shot, tiny ribbons of crystallized ice twist around with the bullets, giving them more force and causing more discomfort to the target. The glance was enough. These .. Monsters.. They were cruel to pick on one down. Gales capture had been sheer luck and he had paid dearly. Now knocked out there was nothing to do with a target painted on his back, but to get him the hell out of there. Tikaanis wasted no time running for the knocked out teen and grabbing him. She pushed her pendant and warped the both of them out of there. [Gale and Tikaanis have warped]Target: -- Capture: -- HP: 23/40 [Hunter Trainee]

She'd managed to dodge a boot and a net in succession, probably due to the fact that she was standing behind Lizzy, to begin with.
If she were a cat, her fur would be bristling; as a salamander, her flames spiked more, turning a more intense orange.
"You're getting things wrong," Vieve snarled. "You attacked first. You don't ********* get to complain about us fighting back if you're going to knock one of us out even before she had a chance to defend herself."
She pointed at Lattice, shooting a death glare at the hunters.
"You see that? That's worse than death. His pain ends here- hers begins from here. Can you imagine yourself in a net? Trapped? At someone else's mercy? Who knows what you're going to do to her? Tear her up? Cut her into pieces? Eat her? All we're going to do is leave that disgusting dead body there."
.. except the first girl to shoot at her picked said body up, and then suddenly the two of them disappeared.
"************* cowards," she muttered. Evidently they were going to have to take someone else down. Gale.. didn't quite count anymore. At least, they'd gotten rid of two at the same time..

"BEFORE! STOP THROWING SHOES." He might have been a bit emotional there for a second because the shoe throwing was becoming a theme with his friend and Bix thought it healthy to put a stop to such behavior. That didn't mean Before would stop, of course.
"You aren't worth talking to. You are just things." Bix's face was bright red like it was straining with anger. He definitely was ready to kick a** for Gale if these bitches could stay still. He was also afraid of blurting something out in anger that may jeopardize their relative anonymity.
Obviously these were only things... creatures. Only heartless fiends would hit someone while they were down like that. Self defense is no excuse for cruelty. Any doubt he had about his new job was quickly wiped away.

Battle: Conclusion A slow clapping noise interrupted anyone before they could answer Vieve's question. The hooded figure finally stood up, and made a huge motion of brushing away the invisible dust on their cloak.
"How about I answer that question for you, with another question." The scythe began to hum strangely, the ethereal-blue hue entrancing."What are we not?"
That was the last thing the Amityville students heard before the last of them descended into unconsciousness as a vicious arc of light tore into them.
Caelius stared at the fallen bodies, and then at the Hunters that still remained. "I hope this was a meaningful lesson to you. These creatures are real and they will kill us without hesitation." The scythe suddenly flickered into nothingness. "I will meet you at camp after I dispose of these... things," he kicked one of their bodies, "and you will await further instructions there."
OOC Rules For Halloweeners:YOU HAVE BEEN KIDNAPPED. WHEN YOU WAKE UP, please make your first post as a (captured) Tiher here- When you wake up you have been caged, as part of the more haphazard group of cages. You can see the thirteen connected cages, though you can't really tell who's inside. You can also see clearer people trapped next to you and around you: demons, monsters, ghosts, undead, reapers, a strange motley of them. Only several of the cages were filled, and you realise though you can't reach out and touch the outside - the electricity is painful at the least - you can still talk to the others. Though whether or not it is wise to speak when their captors are around is up to them. - If you have other questions regarding this please contact zoomutt through pms For Hunters:- You have been asked to warp back to HERE to await further instructions.

A small blob of ink peeks out of it's hiding splotch in Lattice's hair, looks around the room, and give a small "meep" before hiding once again. Apparently, the house feels that a bit of reflection is in order for the ghouls. It becomes apparent quickly that this next room is out of place. As far as you can tell, the entire room is made out of mirrors: mirror wall, mirror floor, mirror furnitu- is that a mirror toilet? Pity it's not flushable. There aren't any walls around it either, making it a poor choice to use for a potty break if you wanted to use it. Why are you even thinking about it, anyway?! You should have gone before you left! Either way, the only thing that isn't a mirror in this room is the ceiling. There's that going for you. Navigating this room, on the other hand... It's bad enough that your reflections are everywhere. It's worse still to realize that what you get to go through is a mirror maze. Quote: OOC: To brave the mirror maze, you will need to go through four sections. Please roll the dice specific to the area you are in: Section 1: 1d61, 3, 5: You stumble around, disoriented. Roll again. 2, 4: Success! You make it through the first part. Proceed to Section 2. 6: SCREW THIS! You become frustrated. Or angry. Or very sad over the fact that you're lost. Whatever you're feeling, you manage to hurt yourself for -2 HP. Roll again. Section 2: 1d81, 2: After walking around for three minutes, you realize that you're right back where you started. Roll again. 3, 8: While navigating the mirror maze, you manage to trip over a mirror-table and nearly drop a mirror-vase filled with mirror-flowers. You klutz! Take -1 HP damage. Then reroll. 4, 5: Success! That wasn't too bad. You proceed on to Section 3.6: You come across a mirror-toilet, and decide to spend a little while there. Mirror epiphany toilet! It doesn't seem to have gotten you any further along, though.. 7: How did you...? Somehow, you made it back to Section 1. Please scroll up and roll a 1d6 and follow the listings there. Section 3: 1d101: Hello, person, look at your maze, now back to me, now back at your maze, now back to me. Sadly, you're alone in this maze, but if you stopped getting separated from your group and started keeping a close eye on everyone, you could be as awesome as me. Look down, back up, where are you? You're still in the maze being watched by the GM running this room. What's in your hand, back at me. I have it, it's the luck you need to get through this maze to proceed on. Look again, the luck is now a minipet. Anything is possible when you roll a one in the middle of a dice game. You need to reroll a 1d10 and quote Marushii with your minis SN. 2, 3, 4: You're so lost. So, so lost. So reroll and try again! 5, 6: You made it! You continue on to the final section, Section 4. 7: You're lost. So, so very lost. What do you do? Easy: you follow someone. Pick a random group member, don't look at their roll. Treat what they got, what you got. Reroll or proceed as needed. 8: No. No. Hell no. You did not just go back to Section 1. But you totally did. Except you somehow navigated it and Section 2, lucky you. Reroll 1d10 and try again. 9, 10: Yep. Still lost. Reroll the 1d10. Section 4: 1d121: Uggggh this maze is so trippy! First you move and it's like. WOW! So many other-reflecections of you move too! It's so disorienting! You need to roll again as a result. 2: Navigating the maze would be easier if you stopped trying to walk INTO the mirrors. Take -1 HP damage and reroll. 3: When you see it, you can't believe your eyes. There's... There's a mirror-couch. A couch made out of mirrors. It's not comfortable to sit on, but it's sturdy enough to stand on. You use it as a boost to peer over the side of the mirror-walls and look around. There's the exit! You cheating cheater: you navigate your way to the exit. 4: You have just about HAD it with this maze! Maybe you're angry. Maybe you're filled with despair. No matter what you feel, you either accidentally or on purpose give the wall a good shove. It falls over. Then it knocks down the mirror-wall after that, and the one after that, and the one after that until you have a clear path to the exit. It's too bad the walls sprung back up before you could run across them! Try again. 5: Navigating the maze would be easier if you paid more attention to where you were. You manage to hurt yourself for -1 damage. Reroll. 6: Through much trial and error, you manage to find the exit. Horray! Now all you need to do is wait at the exit for the rest of your group... 7: You have just about HAD it with this maze! Maybe you're angry. Maybe you're filled with despair. No matter what you feel, you either accidentally or on purpose give the wall a good shove. It falls over. Then it knocks down the mirror-wall after that, and the one after that, and the one after that until you have a clear path to the exit. Lucky break! You run across the fallen mirrors and reach the exit. Behind you, the mirrors spring back up into place. 8: Feeling lucky, you take random twists and turns... and get nowhere fast. Roll again. 9: When you see it, you can't believe your eyes. There's... There's a mirror-couch. A couch made out of mirrors. It's not comfortable to sit on, but it's sturdy enough to stand on. You use it as a boost to peer over the side of the mirror-walls and look around. There's the exit! You abuse this knowledge to reach the exit, except the exit isn't where you remembered it to be. In fact, you turned yourself around. Go back to Section 3 and reroll a 1d10. 10: You are so, so lost. But that's okay! You manage to find someone else in your group who's also lost and in Section 4. Through teamwork, the magic of friendship, and dumb luck the pair of you manage to make it to the end! Pick someone who is in Section 4 at the same time as you. Both of you exit the maze. You must pick someone at the exact time you roll a 10; you may not wait for another team member to get into section 4. If no one else is in your section, proceed by yourself to the exit.11: You navigate this section of the mirror-room with ease. Why is everyone else having so much trouble? Your section of the maze is a large empty mirror-chamber. It feels like whoever built the maze forgot to add twists and turns to this area: it's an open room with nothing in your way. You practically waltz to the exit. 12: You know what's awesome about mirrors? Mirrors break. Sure there's the whole "Seven Years Bad Luck" thing associated with them, but you know what? Stuff that. You pick up a mirror-object and throw it at a mirror-wall and proceed with the destruction. You smash your way out of the maze, unaware that the maze is repairing itself behind you. You're out, but at what cost? If the next room requires you to roll a dice, you will AUTO FAIL that roll. If the next room does NOT require a dice roll, then you get away. Scott free. Lucky you.

Lattice entered the room and gazed around. The idea that the area was filled with reflective surfaces was unfortunately a bit lost on her for the most part she paused when she heard a soft meep and a smile grew on her lips, "Inky, you're still here," she said softly and fondly. Everything she'd been through had suddenly been improved just by the presence of a small blob of living ink. She didn't bother going after the ink or to pull it away from her hair just letting it live there for as long as it wished. If Inky felt safe in hair then in hair it would remain.
The Engraver waited for her groupmates before going into the maze blindly. She wanted someone to describe what she was looking at. Some of the shapes were a bit baffling for her.

"......."
Entering the room Vieve was immediately surprised.
At the state she was in.
All the mirrors showed her reflection, so there was no way she could hide from it. Approaching one, she made an attempt to neaten her hair, eventually choosing to just untie it, pulling the hair tie around her wrist instead. She fluffed her hair, hoping it would fall neatly into place at least... but it didn't.
Well, go figure. All that dried ink and that blasted water.. ugh. She hated to think about it, but she'd need a nice hot bath when she got back.
If she got back. That particular worry niggled at the back of her mind, and she squished it as hard as she could, hoping to suppress it.
"Mirrors, huh... whoa, is that a mirror.. toilet?" At least the room was shiny. Vieve could appreciate that.

Lattice tilted her head toward Vee upon hearing her approach and then talk. The ghoul chuckled slightly and shifted her shoulders as she simply said, "Mirror toilet? How interesting."
There was a quiet pause as she seemed thoughtfully, "What else is there to this place, can you tell me, please?" she asked quietly she seemed a bit more somber and quiet within the passing hours, Lattice had calmed down a lot since her capture and then freedom.
Work together. Need to work together. Not just in groups but in general. Lattice had shown a funny way of doing that earlier. So hypocritical she was for all her big speeches.

Entering the room, she stopped, surprised as she looked around; their room had changed again - where the tall destroyed water sprout was, there were now mirrors... Lots and lots of mirrors lining the room, forming some sort of a maze. There was no way to see the exit, and the endless reflections made her somewhat dizzy - still, it beat having to walk across tiles that might squish you against the ceiling without any warning.
Hopefully.
Quickly, she joined the two ghouls, smiling when she spotted Inky nesting on Lattice's head; she was glad that their little... Accident hadn't caused the blob of ink any harm, "A mirror... Maze..."

Lattice heard Lizzy's word when she came in and the Engraver uttered a thoughtful sound. It sounded distracting to be in a maze of mirrors though Lattice honestly had no concept of what a mirror effectively was.
She shifted a bit, "Should we wait for Edel to join us?"
The ghoul was anxious to keep moving but she was willing to wait, "Edel is still with us, right?"
