"What the-" The boil cried out a moment later... covered in some sort of.... goop? The s**t! He was mostly unable to move, but thankfully was able to poke his head out of the mess so breathing was still a option. If not for that, he might have suffocated in the gelatinous mass. That would have been some way tio go, huh? Covered in, he sniffed at the stuff, cranberry sauce with just his boxers and fancy top, speaking of such it was now ruined. Hopefully these were not rentals.

"...Would you please move?" He pleaded at the goop monster, watching as the thing took damage from the duo of hunters he was supposed to be fighting. At least being stuck gave him the opportunity to look around.

The odds were so against them.

It might be 5 on 5, but it was clear the hunters moved in tactical units. They stayed together, and would attack one victim at a time. He wished he could run and help Amrita, she seemed to be taking the worst of the beatings... Xiu seemed to be helping the most, Lacie a little too, but why was Raziel doing nothing? The kitsune had his hands full with two of the five, couldnt the other four handle the other three hunters? He hoped so.

They were so in for it. "C'mon you worthless bag of goo, MOVE!"

"Ill bloop bloop your bloop bloop." Remi says angrily, wiggling and trying to move to no avail.

Amrita was retreating, but none of the phoenixes were about to let her escape. For the first time since the battle had begun, Petra glanced away from the target, flicking her eyes to Madison, who had hissed a determined response. She had never seen this side of the girl before -- Maddy had always been dependable, had always been there, and had always pulled through for her team, but never like this. Never had the moon hunter in training heard that tone from her, and for a second she took a calculating moment to look her over, the way she stood, the way she held her twin blades. Another ruthless blow rained down on the undead girl, looking far worse for wear now, followed closely by one from Ennea, sword and ax making contact with the dull sound of dead meat. A little to her right, Robert and Jordan were taking care of another monster which had shown up, the sound of slime squishing in the background joining the symphony of carnage, letting them know they were taking care of business. They weren't fooling around anymore -- this wasn't one of Caelius' tricks, another game or more training. This was real, and they weren't going to lose.

The corners of Petra's mouth curled, slowly forming into a distinctly savage smirk.

'Kill her.'

Oh she was going to.

Petra wasted no time in following Amrita, already kicking off the glass again to follow the undead girl. Unfortunately, it seemed their battlefield had other plans. The hunter in training heard the moment the glass started to shatter, knowing in that moment she had made a mistake - her heel came down as she kicked forward, and it was like standing on a land mine. There was a sudden deafening explosion, a searing flash of pain and fire, the unnerving feeling of glass tearing at her skin. She didn't even remember hitting the ground. There was a pause... 1... 2... 3 seconds before there was a sudden shaky gasp of air, and her eyes snapped open, panting to try to regain her breath, blinking and looking around wildly to get her bearings. Her ears were ringing from being too close, but it didn't matter -- Amrita's practically-broken form caught her eye again. Between the explosion slamming her forward and the undead being too hurt to get far, the girl was so close she could practically touch her.

'Do it.'

Reaching out, Petra grabbed a fistful of Amrita's shirt, stealing her momentum. In one fluid gesture, she used the undead girl's body for support as she hauled herself up, jerking the halloweentowner close, close enough she could meet her eyes again.

"Remember..."

With a rough shove, she swung Amrita back towards Ennea and Madison, already bringing Cain around with her free hand, the air whistling around the weapon.

"IT WAS PHOENIX THAT KILLED YOU."

(Lacie defends Amrita for the next attack)

Her face filled with worry, Lacie held out her hand to draw Amrita onto her panel where she would be safer.. at least for a bit -- but failed as Petra grabbed ahold of the undead girl's clothing.

"STOP IT!" She screamed although it was doubtful any hunter would pay attention to her cry.

After Petra's hit, Lacie stepped down after the attack to the panel E6 to shield Amrita's body from any further attack. She held out her glaive with one hand, the steel rod out to block Petra's weapon. It didn't matter if she was thrown back into the lava, the important thing was Amrita. Lacie couldn't stand to see her battered friend torn apart any longer, believing that they were monsters. How could they hurt somebody so innocent into such a state?

Her other hand, trying to keep hidden from the hunter's gazing eyes, reached into her pocket and threw the pumpkin pill back to the Amrita.

"Phoenix will not kill her." She said quietly. Her hand was trembling betraying her fear but Lacie would not give in to the hunters. Even if it cost her life.

It was almost as if he was being spit out of another creatures mouth.... well i guess you could kinda say he WAS in a way. Either way, instead of being covered in saliva... it was goopy cranberry sauce. Ugh he woild never touch the stuff again.

He did something next that was more to save his OWN dignity than anything else, the boil shifted in to his true form. A moment before there was a boil in a tux top, lime green boxers... and covered with goop. Now? Just a german shepherd sized bright blue fox with six tails... still covered in goop. Performing a rather dog-like move, the kitsune shook as much of the goopy stuff off... flinging some of it around the room. Oh yeah, he was totally not human and LOVING it.

Turning back towards Robert and Jordan, he looked rather peeved, as peeved as a fox could. Tongue lolling outside of his mouth a little... he took a breath to speak. "Oh and, dudes? Not cool ganging up on a team mate, capiche?" The same voice from the boy a moment before came from the mouth of the animal, cool no? Reaching out with claws, now that he was free to, he made a swipe at Jordan on his way stepping down to E7.

[ Attacking Petra ]

The moment Xiu realized what Petra's intention was, the ghoul lunged forward and tried to kick her, intending on forcing the other ghoul to release Amrita. Unfortunately, she was too slow. Her attack just missed Petra by an inch, and then the not-reaper brought her weapon down on Amrita. Xiu jerked in shock at the sound, and then whirled around quickly to face the Vetala.

"Amrita! Are you...?!" These not-reapers probably didn't realize it, but this wasn't the end for Amrita. Not quite yet--her FEAR shield had been destroyed, but she would be able to hang on for a little longer. She breathed out a quick sigh of relief as Lacie tossed her pumpkin pill to the undead ghoul, and then she spared a glance towards Raziel and Remi to see how they were doing. The former was engulfed in the giant blob (oh dear...) while the latter...

Oh! Was that Remi's natural form? As tempting as it was for Xiu to gawk, she pulled her gaze away and angled herself in such a way so that she would be able to keep as many of the figures--both friend and foe--in her line of sight as possible.

((Robert moves to D8 ))

Remi's little transformation clenched it. What once was just a weird looking cosplayer now made himself into a fully fledged animal. Robert was ready to put the true name of Hunter to the test. He hopped one tile, put his hand on Jordan's shoulder, and grinned ferally.

"This kid." Robert snorted. "Kind of sad, really."

He aimed the tip of his batleth at the fox's face, and his powerful voice boomed ahead. "Listen up, punk. You're gonna learn this lesson now, not that it'll do you any good in hell! But when you're in a team, you're in a family. And we stick together. So all you little creepy crawlies should probably just get on your knees and let us make this swift and painless, because ganging up on you is just what we're about to do."

Damn.

The batleth swung in his hands, as the mammoth of a man let out a bellowing roar.

It's fox season.
