I'm working on something for Ernestine, the butler-type-person.
Financial hardship has put pressing responsibilities on me to be productive, and that's why I haven't been on Gaia very often.
Btw, Chibi, the family reunion I said I would get back to you about months ago is the second week in July, so I think I'm safe for August. c:

I'm glad you'll be there! I'm sorry about the financial difficulties. I completely get it with this economy. That's one of the reasons I was wishing so hard that I would get that job in Japan. @Broken - >.< That's gotta hurt, but I'm glad you didn't need stitches!

I might edit this later, but here are some basics! Character: Lunae Age: appears to be in early 30s Characteristics: She's impulsive, easily excited, and has all sorts of wild ideas. While this in and of itself might not be bad, be is easily upset when her plans don't come to fruition. She tends to make snide remarks when perturbed, and stomps on her husband's feelings in such instances. However, when she's not not upset, she enjoys gardening and socializing. She once tried to learn how to play the flute, but was terrible at it. Naturally, she gave it up after a couple months of practice. While these hobbies might seem innocent enough, she also has long had an unofficial hobby, man-watching. She sometimes not-so-secretly admires hot guys she sees, and unashamedly hits on them, even when her husband is present. She's a huge believer in the magic of love, and often wonders if loving multiple guys will make extra magic. As for her relationship with her sister, the Sandman, it's a bit complicated. She loves her sister, and her sister loves her back, both both bicker and argue whenever they are in each other's presence too often. They figure that the best way to maintain a good relationship is to give the other one plenty of space.

Character design...input from y'all? Should I use one of the tekteks we've already done, or come up with a new one?
Character name: Giselle Age: appears to be in early 20s Characteristics: Giselle is a goblin sorceress who is a lady-in-waiting/protege of the queen. She is highly intelligent and can cast all kinds of complex spells, and she collects spell books. She devotes more time and attention, though, to her true passion: fashion design. She greatly values and appreciates beauty, and she takes care to make sure she looks presentable at all times. Her refined manner makes some think that she is aloof or perhaps snobbish, but she has a good heart and tends to see the beauty in everyone. She loves fine music, art, and poetry, but also has a secret stash of cheap romance books. She secretly has a crush on a certain roguish centaur, but is afraid that he would make a fool of her if he ever found out, so she tends to be more reserved around him.
That's all I can think of for now...more later when I can think of more. 3nodding

Yes! She always wants to be elegant and as beautiful as she can be, and this stems mostly from her love of beauty, but also from a deep-seated insecurity about her looks. (Kind of like me, but I have reasons to be insecure! sweatdrop )
Anyway... mrgreen

I RP VERY casually...I'm in an RP guild (Rykros), but I haven't even made any posts in it or even made a character yet because I'm intimidated by the whole thing! crying But I like casual/informal RPs, like the ones we do to raise awareness for the Annual Ball. I had a BLAST playing Maleficent in the Halloween event even though I don't normally play villains. I usually have more fun playing the characters that are at least a little bit good, but Maleficent was a fun change of pace. xd
I'm not all that great at RPing, though. I just kind of wing it most of the time. blaugh

Maybe you can help me learn! smile I know literally nothing....I don't even know the proper ways to state things whilst talking to others...I mean do you express that your characters has thoughts or on focus on actual actions?

I usually do a little bit of both. Sometimes I talk about what the character is thinking, and sometimes it's just words and actions. Basically, I see it as almost like writing fiction with a bunch of people, except that each person only writes what his or her own character is doing/saying/thinking about. So RPs read a lot like stories with changing points of view...and really, any third-person story (which is at least half the novels I read) has an omniscient narrator and shifting points of view, so in the course of a typical novel told in third person, you see almost every character's thoughts as well as what they say and do. RPs are a lot like that, with the difference being that roleplays are written by a lot of authors instead of just one.
Another way I think about roleplaying online is that it's like a combination between writing and acting. You create a character and direct that character's actions and thought processes based on how you think that character would see things and what they would do, so it's a lot like acting in that respect. But at the same time, it's like writing a story, because like I said, a lot of roleplayers do tend to get descriptive in their posts, and as long as you stay within the set parameters of the roleplay (like what should and should not happen in the plot), you are very much in control of what your character does...and even here, there's acting involved, as you're writing in character. In a way, roleplaying is improv acting...sort of like "Whose Line Is It Anyway," but typed out instead of acted out on stage. biggrin
