Here, (I'm saying by what I've seen/heard) they just insert a tablet that stimulates the cervix and you have to wait for nature to take it's cause. I might be wrong though, but that's the impression I've got from the baby programmes I've watched xD

Yeah, that's different. I've never even heard of anything like that. Here they give you Pitocin which is a synthetic version of Oxytocin but it makes everything really painful (like, more painful than labor should be/usually is). And since it's so much more intense people usually end up needing an epidural just to deal with the pain. If they could or would just do something that would induce me without the medications I wouldn't care.

UPDATE:
Amelia is still not here, however I had a doctor appointment today and this is what I found out - I'm 3cm dilated and 70% effaced, which basically means I'm at the very end of Early Labor and my body is ready to kick into real labor at any moment. I have to go for testing on Friday (41 weeks) sure that things are still going well and that Amelia is still healthy. If things don't go well during testing I will be induced on Friday after the testing is done. If things do go well during testing then I will be induced on Monday. Both of these things are dependent on Amelia not coming beforehand though. So if she decides to show up before Friday, no testing - YAY! And if the testing goes well and she decides to come this weekend, no induction - YAY! So I have one more week at the most to wait.
Also, my midwife said that they would try just breaking my water to start with and that they would try anything I wanted before doing Pitocin, which makes me a happy girl.
