It seems that games are always advertised to the male half of the population. I mean, you look at E3 and the majority of girls you see there are 'booth babes'. They're pretty little airheads that are obviously there to attract guys to their booth. I doubt the people high in the gaming corporations even realize that girls come to E3 too. You hardly ever see really buff guys trying to attract people to their booth.

because the *stereotypical* girl is all "omg video games are so lame, get a life! *goes to sit in the mirror for 5 hours*" so guys just automatically assume that EVERY girl thinks video games are lame.

Swayambhu The majority of men I've met that were real hardcore gamers, also have never had a girlfriend before. There have been few exceptions that I have witnessed. sweatdrop On Diablo II (expansion pack), I joined in on a Baal run with my necromancer. Slaughtered many, did my curses, summoned undead... They asked me to join them more on Cow and Baal runs. "Leik, dood, u rule" "..I'm a girl, not a 'dood'. e_e;" "omg ur kidding. grlz play on Diablo!?!?1" "Er..I should hope so. I'm sure I'm not the only girl here. neutral " "o, ok...a/s/l?" "......" So yeah. confused It..really bothers me when guys a/s/l me, too. stare

EndlessDark when I mentioned to one of my friends that I play games he was like "whoa..you're not like a normal girl" neutral funny...same here... confused

In my age gruop,I'm usually shunned by the "Prepy" girls cuz I play games but I'm the one who attracts th guys cuz I play games,so things even out. mrgreen & the "Prepy" girls hate me for it. Go me!! blaugh mrgreen

i don't know why guys are surprised. the guys i know think that it's cool that i play them tho. but they always hate losing to me more than to another guy.

My guy friends always throw a tantrum when they lose to me. (you'd think they'd be used to it by now... lol) When a few of my guy friends found out I'm a gamer, they gave eachother sly looks and were like, "We should have an all night game-a-thon!" and I was like, can I bring a friend?" they all grinned and agreed, so I brought my gay best friend (guy) it was great. XD

Whenever I try to talk to my friends about games or join in on the conversation, all or most of which are guys, they always laugh or just ignore me because they don't think I actually play games or something. It always pisses me off! >_<

But with the guys I know, they wouldn't dare exclude me from a game discussion. They know it would result in a severe a**-kicking. xd

I hate it when guys spend almost ten minutes staring at me, in disbelief, when they finally figure out that I play video games. This one person in my Social Studies class was talking about Gun, and I told him that it sounded like a really good game. A shooter with more storyline, set back in the West. I love shooters, and it was more unconventional, so naturally, I started talking about it and stuff.
He said: Girls don't play Gun....
Me: I do!
Him: But seriously! Its a shooter! In the West! Girls don't like shooting things!
Me: Some do. You'd be surprised.
This went on for a while, after almost ten minutes, he finally (sort of) accepted that I knew what I was talking about, and we could finally get back to our discussion. It's so annoying! Why is it so hard to believe that while many girls run around saying: I like ponies, and rainbows, and butterflies. And: Don't I look so pretty?! Others can enjoy stealing cars, beating people up, shooting stuff, and blowing people's heads off.
