Since he was looking at her, Shun caught that troubled expression that was on her fact. It didn't make him all too happy to see. The hesitation in her answer just added to that. However, judging the way she was looking, there was more than what she said.
"Considering that was the reason why you went back, I'd hope so," he said quietly, "Something happened though, didn't it?"
Frowning at the thought, he shook his head. While he was rather curious what the hell went on, he could tell that she was uncomfortable.
"You don't have to elaborate."

Nervous eyes shifted to look at Shun shortly before she looked away. If anything that was only confirmation that he was right. Something had happened but she wasn't sure if she should say.
"I'm just glad...to be back at school.....It's safer here." Safer than back home. Safer with her friends. It didn't elaborate on the real problem but Shun had said she didn't have to. For his own sake as well as her own it would be best if he remained in the dark. At least she believed this to be the truth. Her home life was her own problem and while Shun was a good friend he didn't deserve to be burdened with her troubles. Especially nothing like this.

Looking at Mitsu with soft eyes... at least what was soft for Shun (which were probably still somewhat intense for most people), he nodded slowly and reached over to place a hand onto her shoulder.
"Yeah... at least you're safe here," he said quietly. It was too bad there wasn't much he could do about what went on at her home. Well.. he supposed he might be able to try and pull some strings here and there, but that was an awful lot of work when he didn't even know her guardian's full name or anything else of major use.

The hand on the shoulder was unexpected but greatly appreciated. It made that grim look on Mitsu's face fade away as she looked back up at her friend and his less intimidating expression. Yes, here she was safe.
A hand reaching up she rested it against the one that was on her shoulder. A small hint of a smile started to peek through, "Thank you, Shun. For being there." If he hadn't met her that day when she had gotten off the train it would have been a terrible terrible day. There was no telling what could have happened though she would have likely collapsed on the street alone.

Shaking his head lightly as she thanked him, Shun looked at her hand briefly, then back to the girl. It was strange how a small gesture could change things and settle her down. It wasn't even ear scratching!
"It's the least I could have done," he said quietly, "This might sound strange but I don't want you to be hurt or anything like that."

"I don't think it sounds strange at all." No, Mitsu knew that deep down Shun was a good guy. He had a rough exterior and put up a good front but his caring side had shown through on multiple occasions. There was just no way to hide that and there was nothing that would change her mind on this fact.
(can't think of anything else...I derped.)

"Well... then good," Shun uttered quietly as he let his hand go back down from her shoulder. Taking in a deep breath, he supposed that he should go ahead and try to see if he could get a little more rest. He didn't really know what time it was, but the exhaustion never really left him.
"I think.. I'm going to go ahead and try to get some more rest," he murmured while slowly shifting himself down so that he was laying again.
"Again.. thanks," he said quietly as he looked over towards her.

"O-oh, Okay," There was a slightly empty feeling when Shun pulled his hand away but Mitsu tried to ignore it as she stood to her feet. "I'll come to check on you a bit later then if that's okay." With a light smile Mitsu placed a hand on the reaper's arm. "Rest well, Shun." She patted his arm lightly before she moved to grab up her mask and put it back on her face.
Once she was set, Mitsu offered Shun a quiet farewell before she took her leave of his room for the time being. In a couple of hours she would check on him again to see how he was doing or if he needed anything. For now she would let him sleep.
