The shining, flickering lights and sounds caught Roch's attention completely, and the boil headed for the slot machines like a zombie in love. He forgot entirely that there was a slow song playing behind him, now that he saw this!
He glanced around, seeing how it was done, then reached for the lever, pulling it down eagerly. One bar, one lemon, and one dead monkey wearing a noose. Great, he thought.
Maybe one more try?

Again Roch pulled the lever, crossing his fingers in hope that he might win something. "C'mon, c'mon, c--could you make up your mind!" the punk boil snarled at the machine as three different images appeared again. This time the dead monkey had his tongue stuck out. Roch swore the damn thing was making fun of him.

Roch pulled the lever again, completely forgetting about the whole "one more try" thing, and let out a rough cheer as he got two numbers the same. That was awesome!! "That's right," he told the machine. "You're doin' good! Keep it up!"

"One last try..." She muttered, mostly to herself, as she pulled the lever, watching the wheels turn again. She couldn't help feeling that little ping of disappointment when she realized that she did not win this 'last round'. Giving the machine a pat, she then stood up and moved towards something else... Something familiar.

He pulled the level, watched eagerly as the pictures rolled, then cursed as the three different pictures came up. One was the dead monkey's face, the second was the dead monkey's butt, the third was a zombie eating the dead monkey's head.
All in all, not going to get him any chips.

Roch pulled the lever one last time, swearing he'd move on to something else after this one. He let a grin cross his face as two of the numbers matched, not that bothered when the third didn't. At least he'd won something! Even if both pictures were of the dead monkey's behind.

Roch stood, grabbing his chips and heading for the roulette wheel, which he regarded with mixed feelings of wariness and lust. He liked this game. It was addicting. So before he even started he promised himself he'd only do it four times.
With that he grabbed a ball and tossed it onto the wheel, watching eagerly to see where it landed. Then he promptly cursed and grabbed the ball out of the fourteen slot. So close, yet so far away...

The familiar wheel was... Well, familiar.
She rolled the familiar round ball in her hand, frowning a little as she stared at the roulette wheel. She spun it before tossing the ball on it, watching it spin and then slowly come to a stop. She pouted at the number it landed on, "Aw..."

This was his last try, win or lose, Roch thought, staring at the wheel for a moment before flicking the ball onto it. Annnd... nothing, he thought with a groan. "Well, best time to stop, right?" he muttered, shoving his hands into his pockets and walking away. He could go for another snack now...

Spinning the wheel, she tossed another ball in, watching it bounce across the wheel before slowly coming to a stop, sliding into one of the slots. Another 'fail' number... She frowned, staring at the last ball she had in her hand.
