Kuza and Aiolos dug for a long time, the lioness having to take frequent rests and quick trips to the last few water puddles for a much needed drink. When her current hole gave up nothing else she turned round and started to dig a third, not realizing that she had effectively dug half a mote about herself and her little pile of treasures. Aiolos, unconcerned as he had the ability to fly anyway, hopped up alongside her and watched intently, ready to pounce on any new discovering like it was the tastiest of worms.

Moja was happy to see her grandson, although she didn't much like being called grandmother. That just made her feel so... old. She had been young when she'd had cubs for the first time, so she wasn't elderly! She didn't protest it, though. She'd tell him later. The lioness nuzzled her grandson and was quite surprised when her little bird hopped over to his head. The white mane would probably be cooler than her black one, and he'd be away from Ayo for a while. She smiled and laughed and figured he'd be a good sitter for the little chick.

Ayo was rather thrilled when the bird found a new host and shot it a glare as well as a flick of his tongue.

She began digging next to him, and as for what they were looking for...
The lioness rolled her shoulders in a shrug mid-dig. "Uhm... I'm not really sure. I found this golden artifact and took it to the lioness leading the dig," at which point she gestured to the black lioness, "and she gave me the bird. I haven't thought of a name for him yet, though." And it was as simple as that, she guessed. She hoped she didn't find any more of the golden statues, two familiars were a lot to handle as is!

Meeper flopped down and panted. He was soooooo hot. It was very hot. He rubbed his belly into the cool mud. There was always the option for a nap too. He didn't feel like quite giving up yet. With one more energentic bounce to his feet, Meeper choose a direction at random. He found a likely spot. One that hadn't been dug in yet, so might hold something. His paws came down and he started to dig vigorously.

He was determined. Keahilani wanted to best his male litter mates... If it were possible, anyway. Tyson hadn't shown any inclination to be a fighter, and he wasn't fully sure of Wook. And then there were his sisters... Oh, he wanted to wipe that smug look off Soleil's face SO bad! The fire-haired cub stared at the muck and mud for a moment, before diving in and digging. It felt odd, and then... Rather cool after a while. And then his paws struck something, causing the cub to try and pull it out. Maybe it was something awesome!

(i hope it's ok to keep posting for tickets?)

Maddy sniffed about, claws scratching, finding nothing at first, but then she found something she turned it over in her claws, examining it and tossed it aside, just a fancy pebble, she wanted proper treasures. She eyed the other creatures digging and moved further away from them, maybe there'd be something interesting further along, this part seemed a little overcrowded for a little mongoose to find treasures.

The boy tilted his head at his grandmother's words. Not sure? Huh. He copied her shrug and dug deeper and deeper, ignoring the necklaces and artifacts that he found. Those were boring. He just wanted to dig. Unless... Maybe he could find a think like what Moja had and he could get his own little buddy! Of course, he wasn't quite paying attention to or remembering that he presently had a little chick on the top of his head. He looked down too sharply and the bird tumbled from his crown and into the hole.

Abidemi looked frantically and quickly scooped him up, trying to shush his plaintive cries. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry I'm sorry!" He put the bird back on the top of his head, and even tossed a worm that he uncovered while digging up to the chick, who then eagerly gobbled it up.

With a grunt the cub shoved the tablet out. He stared for a moment, then made a face, throwing dirt at it. That would NOT do! How could he brag about a giant rock?! He went back in, making the hole wider. Now and then, a rock went flying. Just a plain rock here and there. The cub wanted something good, not some... Rock. His claws scraped at something again, and at first he thought it was another rock. Then he started to clear the dirt around it.

((Edit: I think I'll take... Um... This one xd He blends in with Keahilani's coat lol ))

When Keahilani pulled the object out, he found himself... Staring. He looked around for a moment, noticing a few other lions bringing similar objects to, or having them simply taken by, Naseera. Picking it up in his mouth, the cub carried it as best he could over to her. It was a bit heavy, though... When he reached the lioness, he pawed at her hind leg, before depositing the object. "What do I get?" They were the only words he spoke, other than a 'Thank you' when he was rewarded with... A snake. The dark creature stared him in the eye, before he nodded. It would do, it would SO do.

Moja didn't miss her new birdie friend falling into the hole, but she kept her mouth shut once Abidemi corrected the situation with a fat worm. She sighed and went back to digging. His mother, Xeneliya, was one of her cubs that she'd left behind and hadn't raised, so she had no idea what it would have been like for her upbringing and then that growing up with two fathers translating into how she raised Abidemi. She didn't even know that Abidemi's father had died before he was born.

Turning back to her own hole, moja stumbled onto more bones. She pretended that they weren't from a lion...

Inching about the heated plains, with heavy air resting on his scales, dark black eyes shielded by the adamant eyelids. To most, it would be much too hot to bear and handle, but for Kob, it was just right. He loved the toasty weather, and his exterior shell did as well. The dark scales glistened and dried under the intense exposure, though didn't do much to cause harm.
Claws dug into the sinking sand, dragging his lengthy body along, forked tongue flickering sporadically, heading for what was deemed an oasis. As much as he loved the sun, he also loved wadding into lower shallow waters when such a day would heat up the liquid into a makeshift spring, of sorts. But as he approached... it was very clear that this oasis was no more. Blinking lethargically, any look of excitement was easily dispersing. Great... just great.

Kuza spent a long time digging this time, the hole got rather wide as the sand was unstable and kept collapsing inwards. Several times she almost gave up but each time Aiolos started to flap and quark at her so she kept going. The mud pile behind her continued to grow as she worked, bits of bone and sticks of long dead trees mixed in with it. Eventually however she unearthed yet another rune and with a giddy little grin she added it to her pile. She would need to stop soon though, her belly was starting to complain and demand a meal.

Maddy was pleased with her little snake friend, unlike most Mongoose, Maddy didn't eat snakes, since one saved her life once by biting a bird of prey when she was little. She liked her snake, she was already coiled up near her all toasty and warm while Maddy digged. She murred a little as she worked, as she would to other Mongoose, because the snake was only a baby still. She dug deeper and deeper but only found a large beetle, that she crunched up quickly. Nudging the snake she moved on to a different spot.

Curiosity grabbed onto Keahilani, as he began to dig again. This time, the snake was wrapped around his neck, tongue flicking now and then. The cub remained silent, seeking some unknown treasure. After a while, his hole sloped until it became more of a tunnel. Only then did he stop and sit down, contemplating. A moment later, he looked at the snake. "Now what?"

The snake's tongue flicked a bit, brown eyes looking around. "Dig for treasure."

The cub nodded, before starting to dig here and there. After a while, he came up with a strange necklace made of bones and teeth. He examined it, going over every bit of it, before carefully putting it on. Oh, he'd be keeping THIS one.

Kuza worked for a while longer, though found very little for her efforts. By this time, even Aiolos was getting sleepy, the two youngsters having had a very exciting day and made a new friend each. Kuza dug up another religious bauble and placed it in the pile. Stepping back she plopped her butt on the floor and smothered a yawn. It was late now and she needed to find food, she also had to find out what Aiolos wanted so she could find something for him too.. never having had a baby bird to care for she wasn't entirely sure what he would eat. Turning to her pile she gathered it up into an old palm leaf then nudged the bird gently.

"Ok.. we need to eat. You can ride on my back if you like."

The brown chick chirped and nodded, hopping up onto the young lionesses back and settling down on her rump as if she were a branch. Giggling Kuza turned and with the leaf in her mouth, set off back to the pride.
