Malodore searched the area around Steve as best it could, trying not to draw the plant's attention to itself. What could it use, what could it - ah! Anise! It was a plant the plague doctor knew well, for both the properties it possessed - it could be a stomach-soother, or it could be an emetic.
It was the latter property Malodore was after. It stripped one plant of its leaves, then wrapped the leaves in a bundle. Thinking quickly, it reached up its own sleeve and found the end of its own bandages, where they'd been wrapped around its arm, snapping off a small length of it to bind the leaves together. Hopefully, using the used gauze rather than fresh would induce Steve to actually... ingest it, however the plant managed that.
Next time a vine swooped by, it held out the packet and was gratified when the vine snatched it away, apparently carrying it back to the 'mother plant'. A few moments later, the vine convulsed.
Could a plant throw up? Malodore wasn't sure, but the sounds it was hearing didn't seem very nice.

Calder was sleeping on his desk. The teacher had yet to show up and everyone was being rather quiet. He didn't read the bored. He didn't have a book still, and he was having a nice dream about an unattended carrot field and he was only a foot tall. While he was idly chewing on a massive carrot, his eye shot open at the sound of someone screaming.
"WOLF!" Calder jerked, sitting up and looking around.
Noticing that there were indeed no wolves, he calmed down, but only to see students rising up in their seat and heading over to the Greenhouse as a ghoul was being dragged away. Not by something furry with teeth, but green.
Looks tasty.
Standing up, he went over to hear Malodore mention Steve. "Steve?" He said, sticking out his tongue. That was a stupid name. Before he could suggest better ones, the students were moving in to save their friend. Deciding he should probably do the same, he followed in before he noticed that some students were taking their books. Remember that he had used a book to save himself on the island, Calder went back and picked up on of the spare Botany books and walked in.
He wondered if he could get some breakfast in the Greenhouse when no one was looking.

After that close call with the vine-nearly-slapping-her-face, Maritess decided to duck behind some trees where she reached for a rock. Without realizing that it was absolutely covered in Ash Bark flecks (or maybe the Ash Bark just fell on it and decomposed after some time?) she threw it at Steve, hoping to draw its attention elsewhere.

Tess wasn't sure if her attacks were doing any good in calming the rampaging creature down. She was still being attacked but the sharpness, the energy wasn't as intense as it had been the first time around. "Hey, why don't you try to relax, Steve?" she called out, taking aim like she would with a javelin and throwing a wad of leaves right at Steve, and having the large thing end up eating the leaves. Oh! It seemed to react rather well to it! Tess was beginning to think Steve might just be suffering from a bad case of indigestion.

Maritess breathed a sigh of relief, seeing that the leaves she'd tossed at Steve seemed to quell him some. She grabbed for another handful, thinking them to be the same plant, not realizing they weren't, and these too she wadded up and hurled at Steve's gaping maw.

Calder couldn't find anything or anyone. The place was packed which wasn't helping. One was the fact he couldn't see anything, and secondly, everything looks so GOOD! It was a lush marketplace for the kelpie, and Calder touched his stomach.
Looking about, he noticed no teacher or students about. Hmmm. Maybe he could just...take a nibble on something. If there was a student trashing about somewhere, he could just say it was torn off in the struggle.
Smiling, Calder slowly went to look for Steve while eyeing a very pretty plant in violent purple that said it would very much like to be in his stomach.
Calder continued his search. Time Stamp: 12: 57

((ooc: Going to bed x.x got work later. Tess has picked back up on her search for Professor Cadmus))
Maritess decided she didn't want to press her luck with Steve. Who knew what had set him off in the first place? Tess was certain she didn't want to stick around to find out while she was still around him. When she turned to leave she realized she didn't even know how she got to where Steve was and it was a very obvious reminder that she had gotten lost inside the Greenhouse. Yes, Tess still needed help. Maybe even an adult. She wondered if her skelephone would allow her access to Groanspring... Ducking behind some of the plants, hopefully out of Steve's sight, she produced her phone and accessed its Groanspring application to ask the professor where he was.

Watching the other students try to get through into the greenhouse, the she-wolf groaned and decided that this class was going to require extra work. All the previous classes had been nice and laid back. She should have learned by now never to assume classes would be 'normal'. Just look at Minipet Training! LW just shook her head at herself and jumped in to try and help her fellow classmates.

Apparently, her 'jump in to help' seemed to work and she found Steve. That was good and all, but the she-wolf blanked for a moment on what to actually do now that she'd found the cranky plant. Oh. OH! She should...try and do something to nullify it, perhaps? Wasn't that what everyone else was currently doing? Think, LW. You've read that book...once or twice. Sort of. But, using an herb was what seemed like the best choice. And it was what most of the students were doing as well. The question was, which one did she use?
Looking around, she found a few things labeled. Then a few more things labeled. She really couldn't quite recall what each one did at the moment, mind racing to figure out if she was supposed to just throw anything at Steve, or get picky. Of course, said cranky plant sort of made it hard to be 'picky' about your choice. So, LW grabbed the first herb she could snag, tossing it towards Steve.
Clearly, that was not the right choice and the she-wolf cursed under her breath and dodged a vine to move out of range (or as 'out of range' as one could get) to find another herb to use.

Still avoiding vines that thrashed around and other students running to and fro trying to do whatever they were doing (searching for the Professor, fighting Steve, standing around, etc). LW scanned the labeled plants, looking for ones she knew the names of. A few were jumping out, but they didn't seem right. Or at least she didn't think they seemed right. But maybe she wasn't thinking fully. A familiar name popped out at her and she paused next to that herb. Ah crap! What did ginger do again? Err, she couldn't remember but she was fairly positive it wasn't anything bad. So, the she-wolf tried that herb, hurling it towards the nearest vine.

Calder hadn't really been trying to find anyone, and had happened upon the plant and the ghoul in no time at all. There were already students gathered around, throwing plants and all manner of things at the creature.
What did Calder think?
Well, a giant plant looked nothing more than a giant entrée to him. He just wished it wasn't moving so much. "Hi guys." He said, opening his book and the random plants that were about. He wondered if Steve was going to be their reward in the end. He'd make a great salad.

Thank Jack, the chair worked. Though Steve's strength was nearly enough to pull Johan's arms from their sockets, the ghoul successfully slipped out of one the captured boot. Johan let the chair drop with a clatter and a sigh of relief.
"You are velcome." he replied, rubbing at his shoulder. However it seemed the battle had just begun, as the other students poured past him to find and subdue Steve. Once he was certain he hadn't pulled a muscle, Johan went to join them.
In the hot, humid atmosphere of the greenhouse, Johan's hair was soon plastered to his forehead, and for once he regretted the many layers of clothing he wore.
"Aaaach." he growled in disgust. The sooner he was out of here, the better! Now, where was Steve?

Pushing through the leaves of a particularly large fern, Johan almost stumbled over another vine. It writhed away from him, and Johan figured he'd found his ma- plant. Considering there wasn't much else at hand to use, Johan grabbed the first promising herb he saw, and attempted to use it to subdue the feisty flora.

Drat! The Cicely did nothing to Steve, aside from give it a slightly more appealing smell. Johan pursued the vine through the greenhouse, intent on keeping it in his sights.
It occurred to the Sorcerer that he may have used the Cicely incorrectly. Instead of rubbing the vine with the leaves, he crushed them in his palm, releasing more of its sweet smell, and attempted to grapple the vine to a standstill. This only managed to wrench his shoulders again, and Johan quickly released Steve. Double drat!

((First: Magical Using: Calendula Roses Second: Effective Time: 10:53am))
Clearly attack plants weren't working so when Mandy flicked through her book again she looked for anything that could calm down Steve instead, there being a lot more choices for these unsurprisingly. Calendula Roses sounded pretty good, if Steve liked her a bit more than maybe he would stop trying to grab her as much.
...If plants felt like that. Still, worth a shot. Grabbing a handful of the distinctive petals she tried to crush them a bit in her hand before smearing it on a vine that passed her by.
By the brief period when she didn’t have dodge any tentacles she guessed her choice had been ok.
