"On a good day." Alex replied with a small smile that she didn't quite feel. "Other days it'll just be would-be thugs and robbers. An occasional fire or wreck. And days that are completely dead."

Lucas nodded, and yawned. "Man... I got a lot taken out of me... let's find a place to stay, yeah? Oh, and, um..."
He looked down. "Uh, would you like... to... I dunno... go get breakfast or something, tomorrow...? I-it's just a thought, no need to-- to, uh, think about it right now, or anything, you know, since I was... just asking a hypothetical question, and uh... yeah, shutting up."
He was blushing again. He'd never asked a girl out before, so this was highly awkward to him.

Alex didn't respond for a few moments. Just...stared. "I....uh..." Was...was he...asking her out? Why...what was so...what...
"I...um...I-I don't know. I should go back to new york and check up on some of my other friends. I left with one of them to look for...um...some other friends who disappeared. Then I got called away to do this."

At Alex's mention of New York, something clicked in Lucas' brain. "New York? Oh, can I come with you?" Lucas asked, suddenly seeming very excited. "Oh man, I was wanting to go there! That's how I arrived here-- I was going on foot, and this was the first large settlement I encountered, and I got sidetracked by all this, and-- and oh! I've never been to a really big city before! What's it like there? Is it all crowded like in the movies? Are there neon signs everywhere, too? Ooh! Do you get to see big-name heroes like Spiderman?!"
Lucas was so excited, it would seem almost like Alex was speaking to a hyperactive toddler. Almost.

Alex continued to stare, but relaxed and gave him a smile. "You really are a country boy, huh? Well, yeah, it is pretty crowded. At least in the main part of the city. There are signs everywhere, but its still easy to get lost unless you know where you're going to. As for big-name heroes...only one I've really met is Batman. That was in Gotham. And Flash I guess." she said, then paused for a beat. "Spider-Man...never heard of him."

"Wait. Flash? I remember, the sign on the museum in this city said this was the Flash's hometown. That museum is dedicated to him, I think. Never heard of Batman, though." Lucas said, scratching the back of his head.
"So, you wanna go rest first, or d'you wanna start moving to New York?" he asked, folding his arms.

"Well..." Alex began, crossing her arms as well. "I haven't seen anyone in...half a day at least. I've got a lot of pent up energy still, and I need to get rid of it. But...I am pretty drained from all this. Haven't slept in quite a few days, or ate now that I think about it."

Lucas' thoughts immediately went south as soon as Alex mentioned "pent-up energy" and the need to rid herself of it, and he blushed. Heavily. "Well, then... uh, I guess a motel, or, uh... something else?" he asked slowly, trying to make the blood in his face-- and somewhere else-- go away.

Too late. Alex's senses were still on high.
Her face turned beat read and she quickly turned around so that she wasn't facing him. "I...um...sure. Yeah, hotel or something would be fine." she replied.

Alex's pheromones were going off the charts again... and so were Lucas'. He wasn't sure how much longer he could hold out before he did something he'd regret-- namely, jizzing his pants.
"S-so, uh... p-pent up energy... got any particular way to, uhm... get it all out...?" he asked, berating himself mentally as he did so.

"Physically le-...erm..just letting loo-..." she started, then paused. "...training. Beating the ever living crap out of something." she replied finally.

Lucas thought for a moment. "Well... I'm a bit sore, but if it'll help you..." he said, stretching a little. "I guess we can spar for a few minutes out here. I can go on for hou-- uh, I mean, I've got a lot of stamin-- ah, never mind, I can just withstand whatever attacks you send my way."

Alex tensed up and she put her hands up defensively. "Oh, no, no. I don't want to spar with you. Er, I mean...you've been hurt worst than I've seen anyone within the last hour. I don't want to risk opening anything back up. And...well...you saved my life twice. I don't see punching you in the face being a good "thank you"." she said, then looked around. "I...um...I usually go clubbing after a hard day to work out the stress if I can't train. But...I don't know of any clubs around here."

"Clubbing, eh? Never been to one-- yeah, I'm from a small little town, so I have no clue what that's like..."
The thought of them dancing, with his body close to hers, sent his pheromones skyrocketing again. Dammit, what's up with me?! he thought to himself.
