The redhead steps back, contenting herself to sit. From her place on the table, she peers with a gaze of glowing embers, one blackened thigh folded daintily over the other. Her fiery crowned head is precariously tilted, a blazing orange and scarlet mane framing her face and flowing down her back like spilled ink.
Again.
She's not just an image this time. She's here. Not rooted to another place, but here, with him. He's seated with his back pressed against cushioned pillows and bleached linens.
She reaches with a naughty toe, tips the chair that sits between them and watches it come crashing down.
The place is too still for it. The chair falls too fast, then too slow. It hits the tile in the echo of it's own resounding crash, it skids but resets, ends up back where it started. It doesn't displace the air or specks of dust that float around it.
It's like it never happened.
She's pressing her striped lips together, inhaling deeply through flared nostrils and tilting her head to the other side, leaning with it, unfolding her legs, refolding them the opposite way. Toying with ideas about who and what and where they actually are now -- she knows there are no simple answers. Inhaling, she looks up at the ceiling and sighs a plume of apathetic, toxic smoke -- I'm getting too old for this s**t.
Some time passes and she slips off the table with catlike grace, the pads of rubber soles connecting silently with the ground. Little sparking wisps dance around her ankles with each step towards him as if the nature of her presence disturbs the mechanics of this place. How dare she try to come back. How dare she defy what is written. Coming full circle was the only way -- the loophole for a great escape.
She passes the chair, which is standing upright again. Past him and the bed to which he lays in.
"Rest. Then when you are ready, you can train once more."
With that, she drifted from the room and back out into the hall. It would not be the last time he sees her, merely the first of many.

Red returned to Jace's room, soda and a plethora of snacks that ranged from utter junk to protein packed.
"This is all I could find in this place. It must be the off hours."
Each was laid beside him, splayed like a feast.
"I can't stay much longer, Jace, but take the day off. Sleep, relax, up to you. I have some small tasks that you can do after."
Cold, ivory digits ruffled a tuft of jet locks that stood up from his head.
"Get well, kid."
She's got this excellent accusatory smirk, leaving it to trail over a leathered shoulder. Again, the Captain left.
