Finally it was gone . . . though Aksaja didn't at all understand why it would grab some random ghoul and call her a traitor. "What. The hell. Is this place?" the lightning dragon muttered - rather rhetorically, though anyone around would probably hear the words.

He was a bit worried about Sharra, who hadn't ever shown up, and everyone else seemed to be scattering to the various areas on the map. They really should probably spread out, but Aksaja decided to wait a few more minutes and see where the others were going. Also, maybe Sharra would show up.

Yaya would kill him if the other boil got totally lost or hurt or something.

((Going to decide where to go once our groups figure it out.))

Calder was tired, but it seemed they had done something, and soon had a little bit more for it. Despite not wanting to face another creeper again, he tucked away his book and was surprised to find a map and some notes. He looked over both, but was more interested in the map, and was glad to have some sense of the island. All places looked interesting and while he liked to go to some building that offered security, he doubted he would find that. The not worried him.

Stuffing his book and these new pieces of paper into his knapsack, he turned about and wandered off to find his friends.

Phew! Malodore quickly retrieved its book from where the tome had fallen, feeling relieved that this encounter, at least, seemed to have gone fairly well... all things considered. Nobody had died! And it was fairly sure all the damage done had simply been other students flailing about in the thick fog, rather than the hooded figure actually striking back at them.

Strange.

Well, first things first - it had to find Riley and the rest! The plague doctor shouldered its backpack and headed off in... hopefully the same direction it had come from. Hopefully.

Just then, Sharra stumbled out of the fog, rather glad that he'd left Yaya over by the fire so that she wouldn't get hurt. It looked as if that had been a good idea too, as the nergal eyed the survivors of the battle.

Spying Aksaja, he headed over toward the dragon and then frowned down at the map they'd found. "I think that we should head for the Lighthouse. It's closest."

((Profile! Waiting to pick a location until I've had a chat with several people and we can decide what we're going to do!))

The fact Gabrian had been standing right there beside Carry, allowed him to bear witness of exactly what happened to the demoness. Unfortunately, the nix was so caught off guard by the figure's actions (and word - why was he even calling the avarice demon a traitor?), that when he reached out and yanked the ghoul's hair, he was unable to move a finger to help. He wasn't entirely sure what happened next. All he knew was that one moment he was that one moment she was there, and the next she had vanished, along with the cloaked figured.

It was posible he would have stayed there, frozen stiff and absolutely wide eyed had a familiar screech not caught his attention; LW was nearby, and he turned around to find his ghoulfriend just a few meters away. She was so distressed by the events that she'd not even seen him standing there (not that he could blame her, given the fact he'd been standing there frozen stiff, looking at the place where Carthusia had been standing beside him).

"LW?" he drew nearer to the she-wolf, placing a hand on her shoulder in what he hoped was a comforting gesture; he was well aware his ghoulfriend had some sort of a bond with the avarice demoness that had just vanished... but he had no idea what to tell her to make her feel better, "Do you have any idea why that... thing would have called Carry a traitor? It called her that before it yanked her hair and sort of... vanished with her. I was standing right beside her."

His head turned then as he noticed the fog had been hiding another figure from him; one that was standing a little to LW's side. After squinting just a bit, he finally recognized her as Tsesiliya, and he found himself releasing a sigh of relief. In all honesty, he'd been worried about the lithe demoness, having not spotted her since the crash, "I'm glad to see you're alright Tse. I didn't see you near the crash site. I was half hoping you'd managed to stay behind at the school, even if the trip WAS mandatory," he paused and took a peek at the map, his finger pointing at both town and lighthouse in turn, "Well, it depends what we want to find. If it's shelter, I suggest those place, but if it's food we really want..." his finger moved towards the cornfield, "We might want to head that way."
PostPosted: Sat Mar 19, 2011 11:28 am

Tsetsiliya jumped a little herself when LW did, and immediately she began to wonder if she had done something wrong by butting into the she-wolf's thoughts. However the smile that she received eased her anxieties a little.

"I-I am afraid I am not seeing them yet, since the crashing.." As though to help, she glanced around the crowd for the familiar sight of the gryphon, nix, and nagual. She had not seen them since washing up, and that thought worried her too. They were all terribly nice and it would grieve her to know that something had happened, just as it had to..

Carthusia. Yes, it was best to keep one's mind on what was important at the moment, and she was fairly certain that LW was as eager to find Carry safe and sound as she was.

Then the she-wolf surprised her in return by offering to let her join the group. The poludnica's heart fluttered at the invitation, but still she was wary. Wouldn't she be intruding? But the she-wolf said it with such a smile that Tsetsiliya desperately wanted to believe her. With a nod, she flashed her a smile in return as acceptance. She didn't want to be too gushy, which might scare her away. Since they were moving forward to introductions, the ghoul sufficed with her name.

"T-Tsetsiliya.. it is nice to be meeting you finally," she replied, then added with a hint of sunniness, "They are being around here somewhere, I am thinking.. !" Again she glanced around, feeling a little more fortified by the team-up than she had expected. As though to answer her thoughts, Gabrian appeared out of the fog, and the demoness smiled. He was at LW's side immediately, and the smile mellowed a little. She really hoped she wasn't intruding. He turned to her shortly thereafter and spoke his pleasure at seeing her again, and immediately her face brightened again. Thank Jack. As long as she wasn't being a bother to them.

"I am being alright, t-thank you.. I am happy to see that you are being alright as well," Tsetsiliya replied. The three of them were now puzzling over the map. Which did they want more? The demoness placed a gloved hand to her stomach, which was only murmuring slightly. She didn't necessarily need to eat, but would gladly do what the others were wanting to do. Truth be told, what she most wanted was something warmer to wear, since she was still clad in the wet, torn ball gown that Professor Winters had shoved the students into on her ship. But perhaps if they headed towards the town or lighthouse, they could pick something up there.

"W-what are you feeling like..?" she prompted the others uneasily. Again, whatever the group decided was fine with her.

He had not lowered his guard this time, not allowed himself to lulled into that false sense of accomplishment. They had struck the creature, he was certain of that, but where they really doing any damage? Was there anything that could truly harm it?

Even when it may have seemed they had defeated it, when the creature was sitting on the ground in apparent confusion, the dragon refused to let his guard down. He would not be fooled again, he knew something was--

AARRRRGGGG!!

His caution had done him no good as he was sent reeling to his knees, hands clutching as his ears in an attempt to block out that horrific sound. His tail curled around himself, body tense, arrrggg!! MAKE IT STOP! He felt as if his head would explode!

And then it had stopped, the creature was gone, but it had not left alone. Sheridan felt his heart sink, were they all to suffer the same fate? Where they all to be lost here forever in this hellish fog? Well he wasn't going to, not if he had any say in the matter.

So they had a choice, the cornfield, the abandoned town, or lighthouse. Sheridan eyed the map, the note, and then each path in turn. It was a simple enough choice for him. A lighthouse would likely be on higher ground, and thus perhaps a better view of what (and who) was around them. He also theorized it was likely to be the most open of the paths, perhaps leaving them more vulnerable, but also leaving less places for any threats to hid behind as well (not that that would have made much a difference in this fog).

Nevertheless, it was the logical choice, the lighthouse was his choice.

For a moment, just a moment, it had seemed like they had truly won. That had changed in an instant. Draven fell to his knees with the first attack, not even having the time or presence of mind to wonder what had just happened. He'd still been reeling when the figure took hold of another student...and the next thing he knew he was on the ground with a ringing in his ears that seemed likely to split his skull open. Then it was over.

Draven was a little bit slow getting to his feet; his head still hurt. "What in the name of CandleJack was that?" he moaned. Whatever the enemy had hit them with...it had been super effective. But then the cloaked figure had simply vanished...taking someone with it. Why? Had that even been what happened?
"Did...was..was someone taken?" he asked out loud, hoping he'd imagined that. Strangers kidnapping students...that couldn't be a good thing. At all. It would mean things had to get more serious and less fun.

Maybe whatever the stranger had left would offer clues? Draven moved closer to the things that had been dropped. A map and some papers. The papers made little sense, but the map was of the island. Well. That might be a useful item. The demon eyed the paths the map showed. From here, they all seemed pretty much the same.

He glanced at the other students. It couldn't hurt to wait a few minutes and see what everyone else thought, could it?

The battle was over, though before Jericho could really take a breather, he saw the cloaked man had whisked away one of the students. Said something about a traitor. He didn't really know what to make of it, but he needed some rest right now.

Looking around, he tried to see if he could find his friends. With the fog lifted, he'd have an easier time of doing that. From there, they could probably figure out where they should go.

"Christof, how are you holding up?" he asked the Igor as he spotted him. While he never understood the beef the hunchback apparently had with him, he didn't exactly want to see him be killed. Not too far off, he saw Lizzy as well. Waving to her briefly, he went on and stuffed the new items into his bag.

For someone who acted tough, he didn't seem to last long against them. Not long at all. Two rounds of attacks, and he was down! For a moment, it appeared that this island may not be as tedious as they had first thought. At least, that was until he made a grab for another student. Almost in shock, Mei stared as he threw a fit, calling the girl a traitor. Did he know her? Why was he calling her a traitor? "What the he---" Hands instantly rose to her ears, but still the sound did not fade. What a horrible sound! It was enough for her to drop to the ground, still clutching her ears.

Once the sound had stopped completely, Mei pushed herself from the ground again, soon regaining her posture. They were.. Gone? Both the hooded figure and the student were gone? A handful of the students already began to panic when realizing there friend had been abducted by the person they had just fought. Though she did not know her, Mei felt as though she should still take her part in searching for the ghoul. Bringing her hand to her chin, she rested her finger against her mouth in thought before looking over the map. Three routes were shown to three destinations.. A Lighthouse, an Abandoned Town, and a Corn Field.. From the looks of things, a lot of the students were already moving towards the town and lighthouse.. But none to the cornfield.. Though she was tempted to head in that direction, Mei figured it would be more practical for her to search an open area, rather than one that was covered with vegetation. Pulling her backpack onto her shoulder again, she moved towards the abandoned town, hoping that they would at least find something of use there.

((Alania and Riley will be making her path choice in the ORP since we RPed that this fight occurred in the middle of our PRP so she's got to go back into the fog here =D))

The sense of victory she sorely needed was tainted by the fact that Carthusia had just been stolen. Better yet, she'd been stolen after being called a traitor. By one of them.

What.

There was something absolutely suspicious about that particular moment. It meant they knew Carthusia somehow. Even worse.. it meant Carthusia knew them.

She'd been on their boat this entire time. And she hadn't said a word.

Riley's stomach churned with bile as she faded back into the fog, returning to her group to digest the information she'd just received from the encounter.

Spotting Jericho made her feel better - but just a tad - she was more worried about the herd little group that had formed before the attack; she was still going to go to the docks! She forced him a smile, returning the dragon's wave as she moved towards the dropped items as well; she had been waiting for the crowd to clear and it seemed like a good time now.

Trying her best not to look too depressed, she gathered what the figure had left behind before just standing there, waiting. Yup, going to let her friends come to her; she's too short to spot most of them anyway.

Mac was more than thankful when the figure retreated, but the most surprising thing had been them taking someone. Wasn't that a student? He had seen her at the tent. How did they know each other? ...Why would she bother coming back here, if she knew she was a traitor? Something didn't sit well with him, not at all; but he grabbed the piece of the map that fell near him, and set to looking around for someone he knew; jackdamned fog.

A little break in the fog and he spotted a little pink head; what were the odds of it not being Lizzy or Charlie?! Deciding to rest it out, he clapped a hand on the shoulder of the pink haired one.

"You. Stop looking like Charlie." Was as much of a greeting as she was going to get, but he didn't sound angry or irritated; perhaps he was even trying to make light of it! The fog wasn't the only heavy thing hanging in the air.

Amid the flailing, Colette could have swore she heard a familiar voice -- Barth's. A yelp of pain and bits of pleading she could make out. When the fog dissipated, she was going to try and spot him, but the cloaked figure was definitely not something you should take your eyes off. And then the noise -- that terrible noise! Colette fell to her knees and clutched her ears, but just as abruptly as it started, it stopped. She looked up to see the figure shout and run off with another student, and then she suffered another screech worse than the last. Someone had been kidnapped. Taken, just like that! What were they to do?

The materials that the kidnapper had dropped caught Colette's attention and were soon in the Reaper's hands -- after she put the two wooden swords away, of course. Everything was essential in a situation like this and she wasn't opposed to scavenging, as seen when she had taken a gift box off a mutilated snowman. Looking at the strange piece of gibberish, she pocketed it for later and moved on to the other fragment.

Signals, map marks, a hideout. This was like some treasure hunt! At least it was easy enough for her to know what to do next. The insanity part though... it made Colette feel hesitant. Eh, whatever. It's just an island. A mass of land! What could it do? Colette was pretty confident in her own sanity. Before going any further or even looking at the map, Colette looked about and soon spotted what -- or more like who -- she was looking for.

"Barth!" she called while making her way over and waving. He had made it too and was here -- which meant he wasn't kidnapped too! Colette wasn't sure if anyone else had been abducted in this strange place. And then if he was here, maybe she could find her other friends...

Seeing as a battle had just taken place, Colette leaned down to the Sloth Demon and held out a hand. "Are you alright?" she asked. He was on the ground too, which was never really good in the ghoul's opinion, especially after the yelp she thought she heard.

She flinched, her whole body stiffening at the hand on her shoulder before relaxing; that voice belonged to someone all too familiar. She stayed silent for a while before muttering, "... Sorry..."

A long pause followed as she turned around, not bothering to look up at Mac before hugging him, burying her face in his jacket, causing her words to come out muffled, "Puppy, they took Livi's ghoulfriend..." It didn't occur to her that he probably did not know who 'Livi' was, or that she would probably get scolded for using 'puppy'; she was just too upset. She needed a hug, Amrita was not around and there was no way she was going to cling onto Jericho; Mac'll have to deal with it.

[*insert sunglasses here*]

"We need to regroup..." She murmured, slowly letting go before clinging to his arm, tugging it gently, "Need to get everyone to the docks; we can decide where to go from there..." Her mind wasn't working well right not anyway; Livi's ghoulfriend was taken away and labelled as a 'traitor' by the enemy? That would make her their ally... But she didn't seem like that type of ghoul to her from Livi's description... It was all so confusing...
