She wasn't quite sure how they'd gotten back on the boat in the end; she was numb all over again, even more so than from that brief dip a few days back. Arachne was just glad to be back on board, and had rolled onto the deck, just lying on the wooden boards, looking up at the sky.

'Jack.' she murmured again. That would teach her to start thinking that the journey might be okay, might even be fun. She turned on her side, sliding towards Ren and put out one tentative hand, she wasn't the best one for giving comfort as she didn't do it very often, and was still shivering herself.

'You're okay. Safe now' she said, squeezing his shoulder. She wasn't so sure she was though; she'd saved a monster, and was having all sorts of conflicting feelings about it - he was Gabrian's friend, and she wouldn't want to hurt a demon, and he was decent enough for a monster. This school was turning her into somebody she didn't recognise, and this trip was just adding to her personal turmoil. She looked at the boil and nodded;
'The way this trip is going it'll be all I have left..' she patted a squelching trouser leg.

Coincidentally, it was in saving Ren that Mac actually started to realize that this particular Demoness wasn't as bad as he initially thought. Sure, she was still a Demon and a very haughty one at that from what he gathered, but she did jump into the water to help rescue the Monster boil. That on it's own was commendable. Slightly.

At least it wasn't like Lizzy, who jumped in to water when she didn't know how to swim.

That stupid girl.

"Luckily it's pretty long, I guess." He murmured, trying his hand at a minor joke. He really, really hoped his other clothes were dry, from his first round in the water. "Go below deck before you get sick." Mac grumbled next, a little harsher toned than the subject should have been. He was back at Ren's side, trying to help the boil back to his feet, and hopefully back below.

"C'mon Ren, I think it's time you went back below deck."

By the time Gabrian had managed to yank the damned ropes from around his leg Mac, Rosciel and Arachne had managed to haul Ren back up on the deck. While he was quite sure it'd been a group effort (weren't these things always a group effort, after all?), he noticed that the one to actually managed to give the gryphon the rope that had technically saved him had been the demoness. As such, it was Arachne whom he addressed first, "Thank you... so much," he then turned towards the others, aiming his words at them all, "All of you, thank you," that said, he unclasped his cloak cape and wrapped it around Arachne's shoulders, leaning into her so he could whisper, "If there's anything I can do to help you, ever, come and fetch me. I owe you a favor," he'd said it so softly is was probable only the demoness heard it, "I trust you're okay - I recall the swim team tryouts and you were one of the best."

Leaning away from her, he motioned at the cloak, "Keep it until you can get yourself changed," then he finally turned towards Ren whom was having a bit of a mental breakdown. He neared the gryphon and waved a hand in front of his face to get his attention; he'd seen the boil in this sort of state once before and thus knew how to handle the situation, "I'm afraid he's not going to be able to move unless you carry him, Mac. Last time was not nearly as bad as this time; it was a mostly shallow river, and I had to carry him back to the dorms," Unfortunately, now they were not as alone as they had been that first time he'd dragged Ren out of a river and as such... this was probably going to be a touch more awkward, "Allow me," he maneuvered around the Reaper to address Ren then, "I hope you realize that I haven't brought my hair dryer with me," the demon knew his friend knew what he was referring to, and as such offered him a slight smile before moving to snake his arms around his frame. One latched around the gryphon's back while the other curled under his legs and soon enough he'd lifted him into his arms bridal style as he stood up.

Without so much as another word, he carried his friend off to the lower decks. Mostly because he no longer trusted the deck to be a safe place for Ren and because... well, given his previous experience with the gryphon and water, if he didn't get him dried up, there was going to be trouble. Specially seeing as how last time, Ren had been unable too walk two paces without collapsing and now he had the added seasickness which had not been present that last time, "I'll be back," he called over his shoulder, "I need to get him sorted before he winds down with pneumonia."

'Hah.' Arachne chattered, rubbing her hands and along the arms of her sodden jacket. Time to change again, and she was glad she'd stuffed as many clothes as she could.

'N-not g-going to just be in your c-coat. Not less this happens too many times.' she snorted, but then gave a little laugh at that thought. She wasn't sure she was brave enough to wander around in just a coat, and hoped she wouldn't have to find out if she was bold enough to do so.

She looked up at Gabrian when he leaned in, nodding at his words.
'S'okay.' she murmured, realising that she now had a favour at her disposal - although the way this trip was shaping up it might be used sooner than later. She pulled the cloak around herself, and nodded at Mac.

'Yes sir.' she replied, but it was lightly said and she got slowly to her feet, dripping her way back to her quarters. Inside and with the door closed behind her, she stripped again, putting on new underwear and then put on Mac's coat, before burrowing under the bedsheets and curling in ball. She shivered still, aware she was wearing a boil's coat in bed, but only wanting to be warm, and eventually she did so, her pale skin taking on colour. It was only now that she let go and several hot tears rolled down her face - she could have died, along with Ren and Mac, whose name she had caught when Gabrian adressed him.

Who would miss her? She envied Gabrian and Ren's friednship, and only on her own would she admit that she wanted companionship, eventually falling asleep, too exhausted to stay awake.

"At this rate..." The Reaper trailed off, offering Arachne a mild smile. It seemed he'd have to put up with at least damp clothes soon, as his spare clothes were dwindling down pretty fast. Wait...did she just...call him 'sir'? Well then. The Demoness received a rather blatantly surprised, wide-eyed stare until she disappeared below deck. Huh. He wasn't expecting that.

"By all means." Mac murmured then to Gabrian, remembering where he was and too tired to do any more snarking on the issue. It was pretty clear that the two were abnormally close friends (in fact, Mac was starting to suspect 'more than just friends' as their actual title), so it was best for him to stay out of it. So he stood off to the side, working to get the excess water out of his clothing before he dripped everywhere below deck. "Take your tiiiime~" Mac breathed out to the Demon, meaning every word.

That, of course, was when he heard it; a familiar little jingle from his belt; alright, so it wasn't a jingle so much as a series of beeps, but the point was, he heard it. Surprise flit onto his face and he dropped to his knees, grabbing his discarded belt to dig around in one of the pouches, pulling out an eyephone. It was a little wet, but it was still functioning.

Thank Jack. Thank Jack!

Puppy Mac! Just so you know, Charlie is safe but bored - which is dangerous for the boat. Either way, if you have your phone with you I hope that you are enjoying your boat ride and that you are safe!

PS. We were asked to paint some dead fish and I included you in the design! A photo is attached to this text~ Please do not reply if you're just going to call me stupid or dumb. 8<

The text itself made him frown, flopping back onto his butt with an exhausted sigh. Even from a distance she managed to drain what little energy he had left. What was with that fish...? It looked...just, ugh. Stupid, stupid girl.

Mac's Text to Lizzy

I'm not a Puppy, idiot. >C Your fish is just...why would you...ah whatever, tell Charlie that if he sinks the ship, he can't have my coat.

Don't get thrown overboard, we both know how useless you are in water.

Alright, so his text back was a little harsh, but whatever. She'd get over it. Sighing, he put his phone back in the belt for now, and went right back to wringing the excess water off his person.

"Alright, I'm going below, too. It's candlejackin' cold, man." He said out loud to Alwine, Tabitha and Rosc. Grabbing his things, the Reaper stomped below deck, his boots making rather obnoxious schwelch noises the entire way. He paused before one of the doors, thinking he heard crying, but he just passed it off as water in his ears. There was no way, really. Once at his bunk, he stripped out of the wet clothes and into a dry pair, thanking jack he though ahead enough to pack a thick turtle neck as an extra shirt. Dressed in dry clothes once more, he huddled under a blanket in an attempt to restore his own body heat.

One moment Sleuth was walking around encouraging the practice of working with rope, giving smiles. She even gave Mac a silver pumpkin seed since he had managed the best thusfar. Then she jolted around and saw Ren go overboard, the other students rushed to save him. The poor dears, but THIS was just the reason she had wanted them to practice! They hadn't even required her or Blue to assist them, she was so proud.

Except they looked wet and bedraggled, their spirits seemed to be taking a beating with the water and all. A few hours later Sleuth was back up on deck with a kettle of hot water and some packets in her hand.

"I think you all deserve a nice hot chocolate, come sit down and let's warm up shall we? I'm sorry about all the troubles we've had on board but really it could be much worse. Don't worry...I'm sure Captain Blue will have us docked to land soon enough." She handed out tin mugs and poured the hot water before letting them prepare the cocoa themselves.

((Roll 1 D6 =
1-2 - You manage to make a watery hot chocolate...and possibly scald your tongue.
3-4 - Your cocoa is good, hot, but could use a bit more sugar, or maybe some little marshmallows.
5-6 - You made the perfect cup of hot cocoa there's even little fluffy marshmallows floating at the top!

Top first 3 rolls will win a prize))

Lizzy's text to Mac
You are such a puppy! And I take that as concern so thank you very much! I've managed to stay dry, thankfully! <3 I'll remember to tell Charlie that! The fish is because I miss you although you can be such a mean person. 8< And everyone else too... ;o; ;o; ;o;

Lizzy's text managed to wake him up from a rather random and quick nap. Shaking his head, he grumbled at the annoying beeping noises and checked it. Whaaat...he wasn't mean, he was adequately responding to her resounding stupidity. It was her own fault, really. The text went unresponded to but not deleted, and Mac decided to brave the deck again; apparently two trips in the water plus a few musicals wasn't enough to deter him from his adoration of boats. There he was, barefoot and with a nice, dry pair of black pants and a green turtle neck, looking out over the edge when he had a tin handed to him...and something about hot chocolate?

He could use hot chocolate.

He looked at the tin, at the Sleuth, and then down to the stairs that led to the bunks. Well...it would be a shame to miss this, right? How chocolate was warm, surely it would help. Excusing himself from the Sleuth, the Reaper ran back downstairs, obnoxiously knocking on every closed door and any door that sounded like it had someone in it.

"Yo! Sleuth's got hot chocolate or somethin' up there, c'mon it's nice n' hot!" He called out to every door he knocked on, making sure everyone who wasn't on deck could hear him. When he was happy enough with his work, he headed back upstairs, to make a cup of hot chocolate of his own.

And, of course, it was perfect. Just the thing he needed, really.

Rosc nodded to Gabrian's thanks, moving away from the small crowd after he had pulled the rope back aboard. He wasn't going to try to tie that knot now, not with a wet rope. Instead he just coiled it up and set it down on the deck so that he could walk over to a dry place on the deck where he could sit down and lean his back against sturdy wood, keeping an eye on the rest of the deck.

He must have dozed off a bit, because the next thing he knew, the Sleuth was back on the deck suggesting hot chocolate. Warm hands slipped from under his arms where they had rested when he crossed his arms over his chest, taking the cup that was offered with a small nod of thanks. Out of habit, he carefully sniffed the components he was given. Deciding they were safe, considering that it didn't seem like the Sleuth really had it out for them (She just didn't really think things completely through by his observations), he did his best to mix the drink.

Simple things. He was good at making simple, edible things.

Arachne jolted awake, forgetting where she was for a moment, wondering what she was doing asleep in coat and undies. As she rubbed her eyes it came back to her; she was on the boat, in her room and she was in undies and a coat as she'd gotten soaked. Again. Sitting on the edge of the bed she fished around in the pockets of her luggage, pulling out her skellyphone and checking it. She had one text and she read it, a little smile on her face as she did so;

Arachne! How are you doing on your boat right now? I can't expect it to be easy, with him there, but try to hang in there! You're in my thoughts and I miss you. <3 Stay safe!

She tapped the keys, sending a short response back and stashed it away again, checking on the first set of clothes that had gotten wet, and hanging up the other lot. She pulled out another outfit, wriggling into soft black trousers, and a large, comfy black jumper with a design of silvery spiders on the shoulder and down one arm.

Once on deck she took a mug of hot water and a sachet of the drinking chocolate and drank it, seated on deck with her back leaning on the railing. She rubbed at her eyes, she wasn't quite awake and she was sure that her face was probably still puffy from the tears. She looked into her mug, swirling the contents, deep in thought.

Ren's ears flattened back against his head as Mac patted his hair. The gesture felt almost condescending, and in his already irritated and frustrated state, Ren was not in the mood to deal with that sort of patronizing. Though he kept his thoughts to himself, since the boil had jumped in to help him after all. Arachne's touch to his shoulder was reassuring, and he offered her a weak smile, spitting out a mouthful of salty seawater.

"T-thank you," he managed to get out, shivering violently. This was not a good boat ride whatsoever. Mac's hand was on his arm as the boil tugged, trying to get him vertical, but Ren was too exhausted and still trying to breathe correctly to really notice or push himself to his feet. His only attempt at getting up failed miserably, and he collapsed back onto the deck, breathing heavily. Closing his eyes, he heard Gabrian's voice above him.

"Your girly hair dryer, you mean?" Ren murmured, the faintest hint of a smirk touching his lips before the nix swept him up into his arms, carting him across the ship's deck. Ren leaned his head against Gabrian's chest, too tired to bother complaining about the fact that he was soaking the nix, and too grateful for the other's assistance to make note of the fact that they both had probably just caused all sorts of misunderstandings about their relationship. Not that Ren particularly cared about what the others thought or believed. It wasn't their friendship, after all.

"Remind me to say thank you to Arachne later," Ren mumbled, a tad incoherently, as he was carried down to the lower decks. Gabrian was taking him to their room, and once inside, Ren let out a long, slow breath he had not realized he had been holding.

"Jackdammit," he snapped, gritting his teeth as he pressed his face into Gabrian's arms, fingers clenching on the nix's sleeve. "This sucks!"

After a few moments, Ren sighed again, and dropped down from Gabrian's arms. He would need to change before hypothermia set in, and since he was already shaking madly, he would need to change rather quickly. Once in warm, dry clothes (several layers of clothes, for that matter), Ren gave the nix a quick hug before curling up in Gabrian's bed, instead of his own, too tired to realize that he had picked the wrong one before he was sound asleep.

*******

Several hours later, Ren awoke with a jolt, someone knocking at the door. Mac's voice echoing through the wood. Ren blinked blearily, rubbing his eyes, and slipped from the bed, dragging the blanket with him as he wrapped it around himself. Hot chocolate sounded good, so he made his way up to the top deck, clutching the bedspread as he accepted the tin mug the Sleuth handed him.

"Worse?" Ren repeated sarcastically, with a derisive snort. "I'm not so sure it can get any worse."

Shaking his head, he began to mix the drink. What resulted from this was a relatively decent cup of hot chocolate, though it was slightly watery and Ren could not find any marshmallows, which made him frown unhappily.

((Profile: Daffu in case there's anything to be won.))

Gabrian had heard the almost singsong tone in Mac's tone but all he did to acknowledge it was to look over his shoulder and arch a brow slightly at the reaper. However, at Arachne, he offered a small smile and a nod before vanishing down under the deck. It was thankfully when they were out of earshot that he snorted at Ren, "Hairdryers are not girly. They're quite handy at times; like now, for instance, but you're going to have to make due with what we have; did you happen to bring your skellyphone with you, by the way? I believe I left mine back at the dorm and I'd like to attempt to contact the ghouls," after all, given the way the way things were going on this boat and the tendency both ghouls had of getting themselves into trouble... Gabrian was rightfully worried.

"It will get better," it was all he could offer as he let the gryphon down, busying himself with trying to find his friend's skellyphone as his friend changed, and it was only once the nix had pulled it out of a bag of clothes with a triumphant, "Hah!" that Ren gave him a hug. For a moment, he blinked and stilled, and then slowly returned it, patting his friend on the head, "It will get better, you know..." he watched as the gryphon fell asleep on his bed and... well, occupied himself with checking his groanspring after he too changed into a more comfortable, dryer set of clothes as the other boil napped.

----

It was Mac's knock on their door that pulled him away from Ren's phone some good time later, and when the gryphon stood up, stretched and stumbled out of the room, the nix pocketed the phone and followed after him.

Taking the mug from Sleuth, he prepared his own cocoa, looking rather happy that this was one of the few things he could actually prepare without fear of... a catastrophe. In fact, when he was done with his own mug, it even had a nice little marshmallow swimming at the top and he grinned at it. Alas, not everyone was as lucky with their cocoa as he was, and after casting a single glance at Ren, he motioned towards Arachne silently, "Now's your chance," that said, he moved towards where the demoness sat, lowering himself down to a crouch before her, "Would you rather take mine, my dear? Something tells me you're the sweet type," he offer her his mug with a slight tilt of his head, as if, apparently, willing to trade with her.

GM EVENT POST: DAY 6

Instead of watching where the ship was going Blue was still under the deck fiddling with things the demon probably had no idea what to do with and when he came up he not only noticed that Ren had fallen overboard. Not only had he nearly drowned but that he was saved. He wasn't sure if he was happy, or sad about this. He missed this and his concern was apparent. His solution to this was his solution to everything: song. He rallied his crew together and forced them to sing a song for Ren, but they had done such a horrible job Blue found himself marching back under the deck and began to binge on the food rations. It seemed he ate 25 food in the process and didn't even watch as the ship sailed right back into the foggy waters. This would cost them another three days and 50 food.

A good while passed by while the trick or treater up on deck kept the students busy with some strange hot beverage that Blue probably didn't approve of. Realizing that they weren't going to have enough food to make the rest of the trip, the demon went out of his way to find them sticks and put music strings on them. He couldn't have his students dying because of starvation, now could he? No, he couldn't. Poles in hand, Blue went back on deck and garnered the attention of the students.

"We lack food for the rest of this voyage for some reason. It's time to fish, or starve." He said bluntly as he handed out the sticks.

Full stomach and happy, the demon laid back on the deck and felt the cool fog against his skin. Such a nice trip.

They had to fish now because they had ran out of food, because Blue went on an eating spree?
Did Blue hate them?
Probably.

Rosc sighed but took the makeshift fishing-pole from the music professor. He wasn't a very good fisherman, hadn't been fishing very much. In fact, he'd only done it a couple of times. He had learned mostly by fishing Nic's fish out of the aquarium.
He put them back! Geez.

Pulling his coat closer around him against the slight chill in the air, Rosc flicked his line into the water.

Alwine had no need to eat. She was a ghost, and very happy about this fact. However, the thought that others could starve made her worried.

First things first. She had no need for hot chocolate herself, but the mug was already passed out and she figured someone hungry could have her share.

Her skellyphone was buzzing as she tried to make the concoction. It turned out perfect, even with little marshmallows!

"I have no need for a drink. Would anyone enjoy mine? Especially with this lack of food..."
