As he left, Ari opened the package. Pulling out the dress inside, she held it up to examine it. It was pretty enough, and felt soft in her touch. She quickly changed out of her bloody clothes and piled them in a corner to take care of later. Crossing to the door, Ari quietly opened it and looked outside. Seeing no one around, she began to make her way to the Throne room.

Two Royal Guards entered the room, gently setting the queen down. As they headed to the door, one turned and offered an apologetic bow. "I'm sorry. Please forgive us, but this is for your safety, my queen." They left the room, sealing the door and standing outside the entrance.

As soon as her feet touched the ground, Ari ran for the door as fast as she could. She pounded against the door and tried to push with all her might.
"Let me out! Please! I need to talk to Ryn, I need to know what is going on!"
Becoming increasingly frantic as to what would happen, she tried searching for other methods out of the room. She hurried over to the balcony and looked out at the ground below. It was fairly high up from the ground, and she could see a few guards down below patrolling the area. Biting her lip in frustration, Ari returned to the room to look for a different way out.

Instead of going back inside with Dark, Faith went to see her friend. She was more worried about her state of mind than anything else. Disguising herself as one of the guards, she passed by the guards without a problem, entering inside and revealed herself to Ari.
"I really do hate calling my new friend the queen. It's too polite." Faith smiled. "I know you're not okay, but let's talk about this. Calm you down and then find another way out of this room."

Seeing that it was Faith, Ari gave her a hug. Her eyes easily betrayed her worry. Still, she tried to do as she had suggested and calm down. After taking a few deep breaths, she continued.
"Faith, what is going on? What is happening down there? I know Ryn wouldn't kill just to kill. Will they not even hear him out?"

"I've been with Dark all this time. I can't tell you much. All I can say Ryn is with Nyx. You remember at the festival. Right? I do believe though he joined Nyx to save you. So...maybe he's trying to get away from Nyx? I guess he wants to take you away from here." Faith sighed. "That isn't possible is it? It must be hard now to choose between duty and the one you love."

"they are saying so many things about him, I don't know what to think. I'm sure if I could just talk to him, I would be able to better understand."
The thought of Nyx made her heart feel ill.
"This is all Nyx's fault. If she hadn't come, none of this would have happened. I do hope you are right, Faith. Ryn doesn't seem like he wants anything to do with her."
Faith's last question slowly sunk into Ari's heart, and she shook her head sadly.
"I don't think I'll ever be able to leave, and so many people are counting on me to make the right decision."

"Well, they're probably right. He will do anything for you, even kill. I can't blame them for wanting to kill Ryn." Faith sighed. "The only thing we can do is wait for them to detain him and then we can go talk to him. Although...we can talk to him now. Just...the only problem is getting through the doors of the throne room."

She nodded, hoping that they wouldn't just kill him on the spot. A few tears threatened to overflow, but she kept these in check.
"I don't want him to kill for me. I never wanted anyone to get hurt. But if this is the case, shouldn't I be punished as well?"
She looked up to her friend.
"Faith, if it was Dark, what would you do?"

"I..." Faith hesitated and looked down at the ring Dark had gave her, still glowing. She remembered how she was so frustrated with him that he wouldn't consider marrying her and how mad she had gotten with him that she left his room. "If...if he was going to be killed, enough to be sent back to heaven, then I would die with him. I..."
Faith looked back at Ari, speaking the same speech she would announce to him if she ever saw him again, "I can't live without him. If he died because of his actions then I would follow him. I love him so much. I don't care if he doesn't want me in a way that announces to the whole world that I am his. I just can't live without him. He's a part of me."
Faith finished and closed her eyes, "But I can hear him now saying, that he'll take every responsibility for his sins. That I just need to keep on living, that he would just like to see me free and happy."

Chewing at her lip, Ari thought about what Faith had said. There were so many differing opinions in her statements. The last time she had spoken to Ryn had been in this very room. He had spoken of how she could now live forever, but she didn't want that. She had never wanted that in the first place. Looking back at Faith, she gave a solemn nod.
"I guess you are right."

Taking a seat nearby, Ari looked up puzzled.
"I am sorry to hear that."
She looked around once again, feeling even more despair as there was still no way out of the room.
"What happened?"

"You know when you want to spend the rest of your life with someone you want to marry them? Well...I hinted that to him and he..he reacted like he didn't really want that." Faith looked down.

"I'm so sorry to hear that. Did he ever say why or give a reason?"
