Riyo's face immediately met her palm as the two started to bicker like children. While the feline didn't mind violence... Especially something as comical as this... She didn't want this fat b*****d in her face any longer.

Before her father could speak, which she knew he would, Riyo coughed to gain attention. "Look. I'm sorry about our friend attempting to kill your customer with a dining utensil, but like I said. He's a paying customer. You'll get your damn money, and we'll be on our way. So could you please leave us in peace?"

Riyo's tone was calm, though the glare she shot Klyde said that she might not be once they were done in here. Why the hell didn't he say that he had trouble with this restaurant? They could've very well gone somewhere else. Luckily, she still hadn't made any connection that would've led her to realize /why/ Klyde had been here in the first place.

Jess HAD been about to instigate more strife between the manager and Klyde... But his daughter seemed adamant about continuing on with a quiet dinner. Would it be very quiet? No, probably not. but he supposed he could try to lay off a little. "Don't worry slick, we'll take care of our little problem child." Jess assured, his grin never faltering.

"So Blade." Jess immediately turned back to the thief sitting next to him. "What do you do for a living? Are your parents paying your way or do you have a job?" It was the singer's attempt at small talk, though with any luck he'd hit upon some interesting things.

Glancing down at the wound, Shun furrowed his brow. It really wasn't that bad in his opinion. Though, he didn't seem to have stopped bleeding just yet.

"I'll be fine... let's go ahead and take the bike," he said softly while putting his knives away. Moving towards his bike, he frowned and grimaced some as he pushed it back onto its wheels. The paint had gotten scratched in the fall. How annoying.

Looking at it for a few moments, he went to put his helmet on.

"..I'm really sorry by the way.. Danger and trouble tends to like to follow me..." he sighed.

----

Now this was starting to get pretty heated, from what Blade could tell. Glancing back and forth between the two, he wasn't all that surprised that he blew up on someone. He had some personal experience with that after all.

Hearing his name correctly, he looked back towards Jess as he was addressed. The questions brought on a small frown, but it wasn't as if he could expect the guy to know before hand. He still didn't really like talking about those things.

"I manage to get by, odds and ends and stuff," he said plainly, being as vague as possible as he could on the topic.

Mitsu frowned as well seeing the bike, her eyes trailing over the scratched paint. "Your bike's all scratched..." She sounded rather sorry about it but it seemed Shun had something else on his mind. "It....seems to follow me too." Mitsu said sheepishly. "...but you always keep me safe."

Picking the helmets off the ground, Mitsu wiped them off the best she could before she held Shun's out to him. "I just wish you didn't have to get hurt in the process of protecting me...."

---

The manager didn't have much to argue beyond that. At least Klyde wasn't serving anyone. If he could sit and behave...maybe he could overlook it, but the bill better be steep. "Very well, be sure to mind yourself." He said a little hotly before he strolled off, his tiny feet carrying his fat blob of a body to the back room from wince he came.

Looking over toward Riyo, Klyde caught the glare she sent his way. It made him hunker down in his chair a little more, a rather odd submissive look on his features.

Eyes lingering on Klyde for a moment longer, Riyo's ears picked up on the questions her father was asking Blade. That a*****e. He probably didn't realize what he'd done either.

Jess had been about to ask another question, or perhaps follow up with something, But Riyo cut him off yet again. "Hey. Instead of sending my companions through the inquisition, how about you actually take a ******** interest in my life?" She was pretty much putting herself down on the chopping block, but it was sickening how he'd taken such an acute interest in humiliating and pissing off her friends because they were the opposite gender.

Faltering slightly, Jess's brows furrowed at his daughter's request. He had figured that those questions could wait until they had a chance to talk alone, but...

"O-okay then..." He stammered, the shoe now on the other foot. "So... Where do you go to school?" Easy question.

"Nao academy. Up the street." Riyo pointed out bluntly, an unimpressed look on her face.

"Ah.. Um. What's your favorite band?"

"Not yours." Now there was a hostile answer.

Frowning, the vocalist scratched the back of his head. "That really doesn't answer-"

"I don't have a favorite. Too many to choose from."

Well, at least she had a wide taste in music. "Do you still sleep with your stuffed cat?" There was a smirk on the singer's lips as he asked the question.

"... N-no." It was a lie. An obvious one. Riyo always kept him under the covers out of Mitsu's sight... But she still slept with Kittykins when the insecurity hit her.

That was when their waiter returned with the drinks, his attitude obviously different from what it had been moments before. "Here you are, lady and gentleman." Even his tone was different as he gently placed the fine glasses on the table next to their recipient, including Klyde's order.

"Thanks." Jess mumbled, shooing him off as soon as he had his wine.

"So... You still have an imaginary friend?" That question was... Much more serious, and it was obvious the way Riyo froze just before taking her drink.

"I've never had an imaginary friend." Riyo said in a surprisingly calm fashion, considering how on edge she had been just a moment ago.

"Nonsense, you used to talk about him all the time."

"I never had an imaginary friend." She repeated verbatim, glancing down at her soda with a frown.

"You do, don't you?" He was really asking about something else. Something that went deeper. Something that Riyo didn't want to talk about... Though he doubted anybody else could even begin to fathom what they were talking about, considering how much she was denying it.

"Just shut up." Riyo mumbled nervously, an eerie feeling of somebody standing behind her once again rearing it's face. It was something she experienced often, but never got used to.

"Riyo, you don't-"

"Shut. Up." She didn't want to talk about this here. Hell, she didn't want to talk about this ever... She knew what would happen...

Putting the helmet on, Shun paused at her words.

"A little pain is nothing if it means I won't lose you," he said quietly as he climbed onto the bike, "I.. pretty much was raised to fight; I might as well put it to some good here.."

Shaking his head to himself, he awaited Mitsu to climb on so they could head to the pharmacy. His shoulder hurt a fair amount, but the short drive shouldn't be too much to deal with.

--

While Blade was glad that Jess took his attention off of him again, he looked to Riyo as she essentially put herself in the line of fire. Glancing back and forth between the two, he furrowed his brow at the mention of an imaginary friend. He didn't get why it was such a big deal with the father.

"Why is it such a big deal?" he asked the guy before looking up as the waiter came around. He could have been a completely different guy with that change of attitude.

"Just....try to be careful?" Mitsu said softly before she put her helmet on and climbed on the bike behind Shun.

It was a short ride to the pharmacy and Mitsu went in to get the stuff needed before coming back out with a bag full of stuff. "Do you want to go back to the dorm to do this?" She asked. It was still a little cool outside and it would be easier to treat his wound if his shirt wasn't in the way.

----

Klyde was a little relieved when Riyo turned her attention back to her father but it seemed she was throwing herself in the line of fire. Despite how curious Klyde was to learn these little things about Riyo he hadn't known before he couldn't help but feel the ever rising tension. Especially about this imaginary friend that Riyo supposedly had.

Eyes shifting to the glass of blood the waiter had brought him, Klyde tapped the base of it not really interested in drinking it. He felt the need to say something but the little spat with the manager and the look Riyo had given him had deflated his ambition to be snarky. Though, that wouldn't keep him from asking some questions of his own. "So, Old Man, why don't you tell us something about yourself." Apparently he was going to avoid Jess' name all together instead of getting it wrong on purpose. "You seem to be pretty well off in the band. Must be the high life."

"It's not." Riyo said immediately and shot Blade a glance as if they were speaking about a forbidden subject.

Jess sighed and frowned at Riyo's strong reluctance on the matter... Though, the more he thought about it, the more he couldn't blame her. "Another time then..."

Riyo had thought about trying to drive the idea that there was no 'imaginary friend' farther... But she just wanted to be rid of it. There was no point on continuing a subject you didn't want to talk about in the first place if it will be dropped. Especially one of such weight... Immediately, she shoved a straw down into her drink and started to sip on it, hoping that if she kept it there long enough, people would get tired of waiting for her to finish and talk without her. And so they did.

"... Old man?" Jess echoed, a small eye twitch following his words. "I'll have you know I'm not old just because I have a kid. Why, I bet I could have any lady I wanted." His tone had changed to defensive, taking a sip of wine before even thinking about paying attention to Klyde's second statement. "And yes. I am well-off. Proves that old superstition about black cats being bad luck as a bunch of s**t, huh?" Not that he didn't have severely bad times before that...

Though, Jess had grown up in a nice home. Not extravagant, but nice. "If only Mom could see me now... She'd say 'Jesse, I always knew could do anything if you put your mind to it.'" It was a bittersweet reflection, though.

"She would've been tickled pink to see you, Riyo." He mumbled over to her before taking another drink of wine.

Removing the straw from her mouth, it was obvious Riyo had a question. "... What about your father?" She figured it would be a jab, considering he hadn't bothered to mention the man.

Jesse froze momentarily as his daughter asked her question, almost choking on the alcohol in his throat. When he had finally stopped coughing, he sat the glass down on the table and stared at it quietly for more than a few seconds. "There's not much your grandpa likes about this world... Especially not me."

Wait. "... You talk about him like he's-"

"Alive?" Jesse interrupted. "That's because he is... He's a very bitter old man who hates the world and just about everyone around him." Sounded familiar.

"Yeah that should be fine.. Sorry if this kills your hopes of going to the movies," Shun said with a frown, not that it could be seen with the helmet. While he had waited for her to grab the supplies, he looked over his wound a little, though it was hard to see. The bleeding had at least stopped.

Once she was all set again, he got the bike going and headed on back towards the school so they could get himself patched up.

---

Taking a sip from his drink, Blade made a note to never bring up this issue in the future.. She seemed really touchy about it, which while it had him curious, he didn't want to make her uncomfortable. He was surprised to hear that her grandfather was alive. Today was just full of surprises wasn't it?

The thief looked like he had some questions regarding that, but he kept quiet. Instead, he asked something else.

"So are you leaving your band now?"

Klyde held back a smirk when he saw the eye twitch. He kept a mental note that the name got on the vocalist's nerves. It also seemed to distract him somewhat as he went off on a tangent about his mother, though when the father was brought up....

So it seemed Riyo had more family than even she realized. It wasn't much...and really in Klyde's mind wasn't all that great, but he could imagine when you go from having nothing to something it was.....something at least.

Listening intently once Blade asked his question, Klyde was rather curious to know the answer as well. Would he just buy a house and leave Riyo in it while he traveled around or would he bless them all with his radiant appearance and curse them with his existence. Something told Klyde he needed to pray for the first.

---

"No, its okay. We can watch a movie back at the dorm if you're up to it," Tucking the bag away Mitsu got back on the bike and held on tight. When they got back she climbed off quickly but stayed close. "D...do you need any help?"

It was so strange how Shun was able to act like nothing was wrong. Though she supposed with as many scars as he had he was either used to the pain or able to hide it. She was slowly learning how herself since Suto only seemed to strive further when he knew he was causing pain.

Riyo seemed... More than a little surprised when the fact that she had more family than she'd actually thought. Not as surprising as running into your father out of nowhere, mind you. But... Surprising nonetheless.

"Leaving the band?" The vocalist repeated with eyebrows raised to his hairline. "Of course not! But uh... The band had intended to take a short break after this tour. And since this place is the last stop, well-"

"Then you'll take me to see..." Riyo hesitated with such an informal title. "Grandpa, right?"

And back to the hairline Jesse's eyebrows went. "W-what? Why would you want to go see a bitter old man?" What a hit to the crotch. She was more eager to see the man who hated him than a father who loved her. Ouch.

"Gotta see what I'll turn out like, right?" Riyo mumbled, swirling her straw around the expensive looking glass carelessly. How long had it taken her grandfather to become bitter and hateful towards the world? Since he had gotten married and made a child, Riyo could only assume it was far later than herself.

"Riyo... You're not like him..." Jessee tried to assure her with a sad tone.

"You don't really know what I'm like. And besides... I bet he's really powerful." Riyo mused, imagining an old geezer kicking some major a**.

"... Terrifyingly so." Jess admitted with a frown, glad that their waiter was finally bringing out the damn food. He wasn't as apt to talk anymore...

Shaking his head, Shun climbed off the bike and removed his helmet. His injured arm moved more slowly and gingerly than the other, but aside from that, he hid the pain fairly well.

"... Thanks for offering to help patch it up by the way. It's one less trip to Atticus I have to make," he said. He had to wonder if the school nurse ever grew tired of seeing him.

---

Frowning slightly at Riyo's words, Blade didn't think that she'd end up like how the old man apparently was. Granted, she was halfway there, but it didn't mean she'd turn out exactly like that. From what he could tell, she had gotten better about things over the past months..

Then again, it was hard for him to say.
PostPosted: Tue Feb 22, 2011 6:49 pm

Climbing off the bike as well Mitsu followed Shun toward the dorm. "I..it's no problem." It amazed her how ...unfazed she was by what had happened. Sure it had been scary at the time but now...it was like a distant memory.

Once inside the dorms, Mitsu took off her jacket and started to sort through her bag of medical odds and ends. "It would probably be easier with your shirt off."

-----

Klyde frowned a bit at Riyo's comment about herself. What she would turn into? Was she so sure she would turn into a bitter old crone at this early stage? Did his presence in her life really not matter all that much? It seemed to add to that sensation of being insecure that Klyde had felt growing after the last couple of weeks. Not really employable by any means and apparently couldn't keep his girlfriend happy. But being a guy he decided to swallow those feelings instead of dealing with them. He had made the mistake of showing his emotions before and it had creeped Riyo out. Or at least that's what she had told him.

As the food came out, Klyde continued to focus on his untouched glass lost in thought. What he had expected to be a nice night out with his girlfriend had turned into a proverbial train wreck. He just hoped things couldn't get any worse. "So old man," He was sure to use that endearing term just for good measure. "Are you still going to be on break when summer rolls around and school lets out?"

Ugh. Again with the old man bit? Immediately Jess cut into his steak with force, realizing what kind of enemy he had made in his daughter's boyfriend. Well, that's okay. Because he was a force to be reckoned with. "Of course I will be." They hadn't actually planned it, but it would be the best time to get to know his daughter again.

Well. What a drag. She'd have do deal with him hall summer long...

But, it wouldn't be nearly as much of a drag do deal with if her plan went accordingly. In fact, it would be more worth it than Jess or Klyde even realized right now. Haha, what a surprise they'll both have.

Dinner went by in a disturbingly quiet manner, compared to how it had been before. When everyone was finished, and the now over-friendly waiter had brought the bill, Jess counted out a few high-bills and sat them out, unsurprised when the waiter came back with more.. High bills. As if he expected his tip to be spectacular.

Smirking, Jess looked towards his group. "Quick. Lets leave before he realizes I won't be tipping him." He said to them quietly, standing up and shoving the bills in his wallet, then the wallet into his back pocket.
PostPosted: Tue Feb 22, 2011 8:12 pm

Nodding to Mitsu, Shun gingerly removed his jacket and shirt, inspecting the damage to them. The shirt he didn't care about so much, but it was going to be a pain to repair the jacket. Just like it was going to be a pain to fix up his paint for the bike. It was too bad he only managed to kill the one guy and wound their leader.

His shoulder was fairly bloody, but the wound itself wasn't too bad, especially considering what it could have been. Still, it wasn't the prettiest thing to see.

---

When the food came around, Blade focused mainly on that, not wanting to have more awkward conversations at the table. The steak itself was rather tasty, as he could only expect, but the situation was still weird. Whenever everyone was finished, he sat back and stared as Jess whipped out the big bills once more.

He didn't linger at all, when the guy got up to leave without tipping. Quite frankly the waiter didn't deserve it.

"Well.. that was good food at least."

Mitsu frowned seeing the wound that Shun had acquired during their little adventure. In her eyes it looked horrible not that being shot was anything to sneeze at she imagined. Disappearing into the bathroom Mitsu searched for a moment before she found a washcloth. Wetting it with some warm water she came back out and moved over to Shun to start cleaning away the blood. She tried to be as gentle as possible since the next step wasn't going to be all that fun. It also didn't seem like the sight of blood bothered her all that much, though she was fairly used to it considering what Suto liked to do to her after all.

Once the bloody mess was mostly gone Mitsu grabbed up her bag and pulled out a bottle of rubbing alcohol. Pouring a little on the cloth she looked at Shun a little reluctantly. "T..this will probably sting...I'm sorry." Slowly and gently she dabbed at the wound to disinfect it. Once that was done she pulled out some steri-strips and used those to hold the wound closed until it healed. She couldn't do stitches but the steri-strips would work well enough for a swallow wound like this. That done she covered the area with some gauze she had purchased and used some medical tape to hold it down. "Do you think this will be alright? I can wrap it if you want."

---

A few times during the silence of their meal Klyde had ventured to sip his drink. It was a little different compared to the bottled blood they gave him at school but it was still nothing like having it fresh. The sweet taste of fresh blood was just leaps and bounds over anything that sat in a glass bottle for a couple of weeks before it was served.

The meal finally over, Klyde stood from his seat glad this part of the evening was done. He would be pleased as punch to be done with this restaurant and all who worked here. "So where to now?" Klyde asked not sure if Riyo wanted to retreat for the evening or if there was something else up her father's sleeve.
