Baxterfullous merely smiled at Reid. "Well it all depends are what side of the gate you're from... I mean... Where you are from. Ah-hem. Alchemy has different meanings, in some places it's considered the grandfather of chemistry... but that's not the kind I'm talking about.
" Alchemy is taking some of equal value and changing it into some of the same value. In alchemy that's called transmuting or transmutation. Why I said it's like Space, is because you can take something of equal value and change into something completely different.. using some of the laws of Alchemy."
Alchemy. Aphrodite blinked, staring at Baxterfullous for a moment when he mentioned the gate. Shivering, she shook her head. She remembered what the gate was, from the show she liked to watch with Al... but why would he make such a reference like that?

"The Gate?" Reid asked, tilting his head at the unfamilar refrence and catching sight of Ike out of the corner of his eye. With a smile he looked up and waved to his best friend then focused back on Bax.
At the explanation of Alchemy he nodded slightly, interest perked, "so Space is like Alchemy... but Alchemy's only sortof like Space?" Maybe if he learned about Alchemy he could understand Space better and could become a better caster? "Are there books and stuff on Alchemy?"

"Yes, in the library." He sipped at his water slowly. " Though, remember it's not up here - " the catfolk pointed towards his forehead. "-that counts a good majority of the time.. What matters is nearly eighty percent of the time is what's inside of you.. Your heart." He smiled a bit. "Your heart, your wants, and your desires is what ruly controls your magic."

Reid nodded, filing the information away, "Mu says that too, but about everything instead of just magic." A lopsided smile, "but maybe what's in my head can help anyway? 'Sides, Alchemy sounds interesting...." And it did, it really did. The more he mulled over the concept as a seperate entity of Space and casting the more intrigued he was, to the point where he was tempted to go to the library now to investigate.
But nah, the books would be there later.
"Thanks for answering my questions, Mr. Bax," he stated, glowing warmly and nodding to the man, "and the advice." He acknowledged as an afterthought.
Turning he smiled and moved aside a bit, not quite sure if Ike had been waiting for him or waiting to talk with Bax.

Aphrodite buzzed about, boy was that boring.. so long.. so drooling.. but for some reason she felt smarter. It was a good feeling, being smarter... than everyone else. Bwahahaa... Nah, that didn't feel right, but she liekd the ego boost.
Practicing her flying, she began to hover upside. Looking over Deimos, she frowned. "You better not ask me to help you with your homework. A, You should have been taking your notes, and B, I'm not apart of your crew anyways. It'd be mutiny to Leo."
Baxterfullous smiled, both at the sight of Aphrodite finally growing a backbone and Reid. "It was a pleasure."

Raising his head he looked over at Aphroide in a sort of shocked, hurt look.. The notes thing didn't bother him, he was supposed to have been taking them. But the other part.. "Whose Leo.." He asked, anger not yet apparent in his voice, the shock of it delaying its arrival.

"My friend, she said I could be on her crew, I'm her crew's doctor, and sometimes the crow's nest. She said I was perfect." She crossed her arms over her small chest. What she felt when he said she was too little to be a pirate, she felt betrayed and hurt. Furrowing her brow, she had wanted to tell him how she felt about that day on the black dawn.
Baxterfullous could feel the tension in the air, standing up he began to usher all the other children out of the room. "Shoo, don't come back until break... and if you don't come back at all then I'm going to have a long chat with your parents." He said swiftly, until it was only Deimos and Aphrodite left in the room, besides himself. "Now, Aphrodite you shut... and Deimos hold your temper."
"What?!" Aphrodite fumed, balling her hands into little fists. "I'm telling him the truth! And besides, how can Deimos use a crewmember he doesn't have.. I'm just reminding him!"
"We're going to have a long talk with your mother after this, do you hear me young lady? You're temper is running foul. Do you know how you sound to me right now? Like a spoiled little brat that cries when things don't go her way. You are not a baby anymore, so don't act like it."
She lowered her eyes staring at the floor, keeping her fists balled, she flew away and out the open door.
"Dammit." He breathed.

Deimos gaped for a moment, the word registering. Ok, first of who was this Leo? He had a rival pirate crew? He blinked several times as the words sunk in and anger boiled inside him.. She'd run off with another crew and.. "Damnit!" He shouted, ignroing Bax, warning about his temper and jumping of the desk, storming from the door.. The odd thing was, he wans't made at APh, well, the full force of his anger wasn't directed at her, but at this Leo person.. If they tried to get anymore of his crew..

Flying past all the other kids, and down the hall, she zoomed her way into the jungle room on the other side of the first floor.
Baxterfullous sighed, shaking his head, peering out into the hallway. "You all have 30 minutes left, I suggest you get those syllabuses signed."

Storming off upstairs he went to Jizzy's room. Flinging the door open he simply slammed the paper in front of his guardian and growled.. "Sign....."
Jizzy looked up, a bit jittery and jumpy since he'd entered so suddenly.. "Uh..." Looking down at the paper, she was releved to see it was symply a sylabus and not a detention, a suspension, an eviction, arrest papers, or other such things she may have happened to find. Picking up a pen on the side table she scribbled her name onto it and handed it bakc to Dei.. "Is Class over already?"
Snatchign the paper back and grunting a no, Diemos stormed back out..
"Bad first day I guess..."
Rushing down the staircase, Dei looked around.. He had half an hour to blow off some steam before going back to the dumb room. Stomping his way towards the play room, his eyes caught a lush area through a door.. He'd never been there before..
Stomping inside the jungle room, eh looked around.. Nice enough place.. he was surprised he'd never seen it ..

There sitting on a lily pad in the pond off in the corner was the small wasp mishap. Lay on the petals of the flower she floated about, she looked calmer... though the toys off in the other sigh look disheveled.

Treading through the forst, Deimos began to calm.. Grabbing onto a large thick vine, he began an attempt at clinging up it.. His strength made it easy and he was trhee fourths of the way up when his own stregth betrayed him and the vine snapped. He fel hard onto his bum.. "DAMNIT!!!!" He shouted loudly, as well as a few other curse words that he definatly shouldn't had known.

"Aieeee!" She screamed, almost falling off the lillpad, revealing her location in the forest. Keeping quiet, she took a deep breath, flying from her lounging spot to where the noise came from.. oh. It was Deimos. She stared for a moment before speaking. "Are.. you ok?"

Deimos rubbed his bum, but nodded. "I'm fine.." He said before looking up and the voice he heard registering in his mind.. He stiffened and his smile/grimace went slack.. "Oh.. Yah.. Fine.." He said more monotone, getting up.. "But whatever.. You[ve got another captain to worry about.." He said simply, looking back up to try to figure out how to climb this tree.
