"As long as we don't get swallowed by sudden, snowy holes in the ground, we should be alright," Tails said. "Tristen, if you want to go, I can keep you warm."
He flipped through the channels, listening for any hint of weather. To him, the screen was almost entirely too dark to make out, his eyes only catching sudden flashes of color or movement. And, of course, the static between channels.

Odd stood outside of the new HQ, looking up towards the top of the mountain. "I don't know if I'll be able to make it in one go, but I think I might pay a visit to the Abbey...." He remarked to himself. He had a hoverboard under his arm. "Especially since I've never even seen one of these..." He remarked to himself as he looked down at the board. "But, if all else fails, I bet I can snowboard back down on it." He offered a stupid grin to no one in particular.
"You're not seriously going up there dressed like that, are you?" Lykas asked as he padded up behind the other teen. "I know I'm crazy, but even I'm not -stupid-." The kid informed as he pulled on a warmer coat.
Odd cringed slightly at the sight of the beastly thing. It looked like some kind of eskimo parka or something. Except that it was dark blue with thick fur lining the inside. "What is that, Ninetales fur?"
"Please! I'm anti-fur, my friend." Lykas retorted, suddenly indignant. "I might be a lawless psychopath but I'm still a vegetarian and anti-fur. It's synthetic." The younger teen stated as he gently rubbed the soft fibers. "But ya, it's synthetic Ninetales." He winked as Odd shook his head in annoyance.
"Seriously? All that just to tell me I was right?" Odd asked, exhasperated. "Besides." He pulled his shirt tight around him and buttoned it up. He opened his backpack and yanked out a thick black hoodie with purple flames sprouting from the hems. "I'll be fine." He assured as he pulled the hoodie on. With that, he jumped onto his hoverboard and blasted off towards the mountaintop before Lykas could follow him.
"Hmph...." Lykas smirked at Odd's retreating form. "Looks like he's finally growing his own spine instead of leeching off someone else."

Tails whistled, deciding he wouldn't get involved in that one. "Make sure you're all set, Tristen. If we get stuck somewhere, I can get us food and water easy enough."

Tristen asked him, looking back at me. Apparently Tails has a way with words without realizing it. "Alright, if we are going to do this, lets try to get it done before everything becomes unable to be traversed." I said to him. "Lets have a look around the area, try to find whatever out of the ordinary."

"Yeah. If we can't get back for some reason. Maybe we don't have to worry about that with Telia around. Unless we get separated. But either way, you'll still need me to keep you warm," Tails explained.
He went for the door, and leaning on it, peered outside. He hoped it wouldn't be too dark before they returned.

"Monstressor, let's try it again, Hyper Beam!" Sub commanded his Pokemon, the trainer and his Puptar were in the new training room of the headquarters. It was a state of the art training facility, complete with alternating environment field. The current field was a rocky wasteland like area, well suited for the rock type that Monstressor was.
"Pupi pupitar!" Cried Monstressor as he hopped forward twice, towards a rather large boulder in the center of the field. The Pokemon pulled back as it landed on the second hop and began to store energy as its body began to shake slightly. "Tar!" It shouted and attempted to release the stored energy, but instead of a Hyper Beam firing out of its mouth only a slight crackle of energy came out, looked similar to a few firecrackers going on. "Tar..." Moaned the Pupitar, feeling as if it failed.
"Aw, don't worry buddy. That was better than last time, at least you managed to muster something up. We just need to work on building up more power and sustaining it as you attempt to release it all in one shot. You can do this, I know you can." Sub said as he tried to cheer his Pokemon up as he walked up behind him and patted him on the back.

Odd had returned from his trip up the mountain, more annoyed than anything. He felt like a truly hopeless orphan just now. For some reason, despite knowing exactly where it was, he hadn't been able to find the abbey near the mountaintop.
Lykas wandered across the teen as he sat moping on the couch. "I think you need to come with me." He announced as he pulled Odd to his feet and dragged the boy off. "I found the training room here last night and I think you could benefit from it." He explained as he tugged on Odd's shirt, pulling him along.
"Training room?" Odd asked as he followed. "How would I benefit from that?"
"I'm going to teach you to fight. Bare handed -and- with Pokemon."

"Alright Monstressor, that's enough for today." Sub said to his Pupitar which was leaned up against the boulder he was trying to Hyper Beam, panting. "We'll try again tomorrow after you rested up, return bud." The trainer took out a Dusk Ball and recalled the creature back to the device with a red beam of light. "Glad to see him working so hard." He said as he pocketed the ball and went to exit the room.

Lykas was about to enter the training room when the door opened ahead of him. "Oh, hey Sub! You left the place intact, right?" He questioned as he forced Odd to move in front of him. "I need the training room for a while so I can teach this pansy to fight like a man." He informed, offering a sadistic smile. He would enjoy beating Odd up until the guy got the guts the start fighting back. Lykas could tell just from his attitude that the boy was a pacifist by nature.
Odd just looked at Sub with a dumbfounded look on his face, almost a cross between bewilderment and pleading for Sub to save him from Lykas's sadism.

"Huh? Oh, hey Lykas." Sub said as he stepped back a bit from the door as he saw the others. "Also hey to you Odd." He said with a nod and turned back to Lykas. "Yes, it's perfectly fine, didn't get to blow anything up today." He grinned. "Try not to gravely injure Odd, can't afford any medical bills after spending so much on this place."

Odd couldn't do much more than nod, resigning himself to the beating he felt sure he was about to take.
"Hehe. I'll try not to cause any permanent damage. Nothing long-lasting. Except for a few bruises if he doesn't catch on pretty quick." Lykas responded, his sadistic smile growing wider. This was going to be fun. "Wanna help?" He asked as he pushed Odd through the door. "I haven't quite figured out how to set this place up yet. Too much high-tech stuff for my taste."

Dakota put his hands behind his head and motioned for his pokemon to follow him. Aeon, being a ghost didn't cause I noise or have trouble going through the halls. Quil, being a small pokemon didn't have any trouble either. King... was very surprising. A large onix went through the halls and the very worst thing that happened was a single paper fell off the wall. Floors must be waxed or something Dakota thought seeing Onix do no damage to the floor. The three went to team Snagem's gym to practice. Dakota ordered his pokemon to wait while he set things up. The pokemon watched for ten minutes as Dakota raced around setting things up for them. For Aeon, he set up a straw man to practice attacks. For Quil he set up a small agility course with targets to practice attacks on. And for king he had painted targets on some of the boulders.
"Alright, Aeon, I want you to use will-o-wisp followed by a shadow ball on the straw man. Quil, I want you to run this agility course and use ember to things on your side and flame wheel on things infront of you. Onix, I want you to use dig then come up behind the boulder and use rollout. Let's get going!"
Dakota watched Aeon first. Aeon kept trying to use will-o-wisp but could only conjure a fire for a few moments. Dakota went to it and gave Aeon a little pep talk and said "Alright, will-o-wisp is ghost fire? Think of something hot, close your... eye? Then shoot it quickly followed by a shadow ball.". Aeon tried this and seven light blue flames surrounded Aeon. It moved one of its hand and the whisps shot at the strawman followed by a perfectly executed shadow ball, something Aeon was talented at. Most of the flames missed, but it was done right. "Alright Aeon, I want you to work on the speed and accuracy of will-o-wisp.". Aeon nodded and went straight to work.
Next Dakota went to help quil which had run the course a few times, really no problems except with timing flame wheel just right. He watched one more time and saw Quil hit the wooden board he was supposed to break through. "Alright Quil, I want you to remember, flame wheel is not a stationary move. So don't wait until the last second to do it, alright?". Quil looked at Dakota seeming a little mad about the advice, but accepted it. Quil ran the course faster this time, and ten feet before hitting it Quil englufed itself in flame and began to spin. Quil aced it. "Good job!" Dakota yelled applauding. Quil blushed with embarrasment.
Finally, Dakota came over to King. "Alright King, I want you to dig under neath this boulder here, then I want you to use rollout on it. Got that?" King nodded not giving Dakota a moment to move and began to dig. A few moments passed and Dakota heard a loud thud come from behind the boulder. A second later, large cracks came across the boulder and it was shaddered, an anxious King hovering over the mess of rock stood above Dakota waiting for approval. Dakota lifted both hands for a high five and yelled "Perfect, King!". King took this a little to seriously and swung his tail and Dakota trying to give hime that high five, Dakota went flying into the wall. "Oww...." Dakota muttered as King slithered to him and helped him up. Dakota patted his head and began to speak "You're doing pretty good, but there's always room for improvment. I want you to dig undeground until you can cross under the base in less than two minutes. Think of it as a race."
Dakota stood where he was and watched his pokemon train offering tips when he could.

Odd and Lykas had been in the training room, Odd looking more the worse for wear than anything. "Come on, Lykas! I'm tired! I've got a black eye and my ribs hurt!" The older teen whined as he tried to step back and dodge another of Lykas' punches.
"No! A real man never quits just because his body's aching!" Lykas retorted, spinning around to bring a kick down on Odd's shoulder. "Now let me see you grit those teeth!"
Odd glared at Lykas, a sudden surge of energy filling his soul. "STOP!" He screamed as he grabbed Lykas' foot and flung the smaller boy over his shoulder, slamming him into the wall nearby.
Lykas looked at him like he had two heads for a few moments, sliding down the wall as he did. "It's about damn time!" The boy cheered. Odd had never seen anyone speak in bold before, but it seemed like praise, so he took it as praise of the highest caliber and smiled softly as he collapsed to the floor. Lykas crawled over, fairly tired now that he actually gave it some thought. "Eh...you can practice more tomorrow." He remarked as he passed out next to Odd, his head on the older male's chest. They almost looked like they were brothers, except for the horribly different hair.

"Whoo, that was a good work out." Sub said as he walked into the HQ through the front door. His shirt was off and halfway tucked in his pants as it hanged off on the side. "I feel all sweaty though." The Murkrow on his head cawed in agreement. "Hush up Nevermore, it's not like you did anything but sit around all day on my head."
