The elf can't hear any of the students through the glass! They're too busy panicking! It would probably work better if they got peeled out o the glass before any inquiries were made.

Eracs noticed the elf thing hadn't responded at all. Could they even be heard? "Guys I think that glass is in the way!" He started to try and get the glass away from the elf.

"Any help? Um, though maybe a person or two ready to attack if it's hostile..." He himself seemed to be on the front line here now. Once the glass was away, he'd hope to ask his questions then.

Jamais had noticed what Eracs had and she started helping Eracs try to remove the glass.

"If he's stupid I'll be happy to try to choke him when we get the glass open." She chuckled, it was an almost empty threat, but she would at least scare the elf.

Her wings twitched, "I'd hope though, we don't have to fight him after having saved his sorry joy-filled self. Maybe he'll help us out of here."

"But..." Draven was confused. It had pelted them with walls. It was just like the things that had attacked them on the way here. It was made of JOY. He didn't see the need to let it out of it's glass and metal cage. It was finally out of their way. Good riddance, right? So, now the others wanted to free it and talk to it. Why?! He was fairly certain that if any walls had actually landed on them it would not have have helped them. What in Jack's name was going on?

He stood lost in his confusion as the other students began to try and help the thing out. Then he sighed. Maybe whether or not it would help them was beside the point. Maybe they were just better than it was? Natalia was right. They might have been monsters and demons, but they weren't cruel. No point in that, really.

It was entirely possible they would regret letting it out, too. What if it attacked again? It would be outnumbered...but who knows what kind of tricks it has! Was letting it out the best thing to do?

Draven let out another sigh as he moved in to help the others remove the glass that was encasing the JOY creature. His friends had helped him when he asked for it, and they needed help now. Even though he still didn't get it.

Danny stood over the glass where he had tried to attack earlier. He was about to attack but he noticed the other students were pulling the elf out of the bot. He couldn't see WHY. But he didn't want to be the bad egg that kill him. So with his claws he continued to scratch at the glass to hopefully free the Elf. Though he wouldn't hesitate to kill it, if it turned on him.

The glass cracked open quite willingly under the hands of the students, the scout scrambling out in a panic and nearly running for it entirely, before pausing and looking back to the kids that had helped him out.

"You all might..ah...want to run. That thing's always been a touch finicky and you don't know what it's going to do because you guys kept throwing stuff at it. I was trying to avoid you guys for a reason..." it said, probably making a face underneath it's mask before continuing it's fleeing into the remnants of the walls.

If the students were inclined to do so, following him was an option. In fact, the smoke billowing from the smashed bot was probably a good sign that they should have been running for it!! However, all following the elf got them was to a door they couldn't open and the elf himself being nowhere in sight...

but the walls proved to be a good barrier, the smoke finally growing into a fire, and then a loud popping noise, followed by an explosion.

KABOOM!

Peppermint Points rained everywhere. Divvied up equally, everybody got about Thirteen of them! Nifty!

Now...how were they supposed to get out??

The blue Santa Scout's bot has been destroyed, and he has fled! Victory? As close as is good!

The elf actually talking to them was surprising. It was true that it hadn't attacked them directly but all the things it did had hit them for the most part...

Eracs scrambled after the elf. The robot thing seemed to be on fire. Fire. His greatest enemy. At the explosion he tucked his thirteen peppermint points into his pocket, nice!

"So, uh, guys. How are we getting out of here..."

It hadn't gone the way he expected. The elf thing hadn't attacked them, in fact, it suggested they run. It had actually offered help. Some part of Draven's mind wondered what would have happened if they had tried harder to communicate with it from the beginning. Though, the whole explosion thing pushed that thought out of his mind almost immediately. It didn't matter anyway.

He scooped up his share of peppermint points (13!) and tucked them away next to the strange card he had been given ages ago on the train. Wow. From fun train ride...to this. This field trip had certainly taken some unexpected turns.

Eracs question brought him out of his thoughts. "That is a very good question," Draven commented. The door before them was locked, and from where he was, he could see no real way out of this room.

Jamais followed suit. Watching the blue elf scramble, when he was no longer there and they were at a door and well.... "That's a good question." Jam replied as she counted her peppermint points before stuffing them in her pocket.

She looked at the door, "Anyone know how to pick locks?" Her tail flickered looking to see if there was a lock to pick... she paused, "Actually.... I have a card the old ghost mini-pet guy gave me back on the train..."

She was digging in her pockets it was in one of them... "I'm not sure what kind of lock this thing has on it, if it's something on the other side I doubt I could open it with the card but I've seen that done too."

She shrugged, "I haven't found any other use for the card." She pulled it out of her pocket and looked at it tilting her head.

And look, helping the elf nabbed the group quite a bit of . . . peppermint candies. Haku blinked as he snatched quite a few of them up (counting 13), putting seven in the empty pocket of his coat and six in the other to join the previous peppermint he had won from his time in the Oblina cart. "Well . . . that was more painless than I expected?" he said after dusting himself off from the remnants of smoke and explosion that had riddled him. "I can think of several options, though they're not exactly answers . . . You mention having a card too, Jamais? Natalia also won one from that strange ghost, though we've yet to find use for it." The original plan had been to find some use back at the Island of Misfit Toys, but . . . that hadn't gone as planned either.

"Maybe it requires gnome inspection? I highly doubt any of the JOYful creatures here would know about a Seafear place. The other idea I had was maybe seeing if the door might give way under the weight of the wall, if we worked together?" Certainly it had incapacitated the robot with little effort.

Letting the others get the elf free he watched it take off. Sniffing the air...smoke, that was never a good thing. The elf was talking about the bot being finicky and that they should..run. That was just what the blond werewolf did.

Alerick ran after the elf, but not to capture it. He was running away from it in order to avoid whatever was going to happen next, not to mention the smell of smoke was making him ill. It was a smell he didn't like, it was strong too.

The boom had his attention but then it went to the others. "Now what....I mean...the door won't open." And there was no telling if those cards worded or not. "Is there anything for the card to be used on...?"

"Can't leave without the rest..." She yelled aloud while gathering up her peppermint points (13) and pointing toward those who had stayed behind. This was moments before the fire started up, flames being one of the many things that terrified the primate. "Hurry! Escape! Follow others!" and she, in all of her dark blue, fuzzy tailed glory went scampering down the pathway toward the others. Orange eyes, lost in the black where white should be, searched her sack full of JOYful things for the black card given to her by the...was it an old man? She could not remember.

"Oh," she whispered, before raising her voice in question toward Haku. "This, right?" But he had already moved on to the topic of the wall...it had worked on the robot, perhaps the door would give just the same.

"I help...whatever you guys need, I help Troop." The end trailed off into mumbles, quieted only by the thoughts that had encompassed the wereghouls mind. She was much more sheltered compared to the rest, having only seen attacks but never really getting the chance to act on them. This was all very...surreal.

It had exploded. That wasn't very good, but at least they had rescued the elf and not been too seriously injured. Plus they had been rewarded with more peppermints. All in all, he considered this a success.

He glanced around. "Depending on what the door is made of, we might be able to break it down too; there are enough of us." Of course, that would only work if it wasn't made of something unbreakable, but they wouldn't know until they tried.

And, if nothing else, they could always go back to where the gnomes were. It wasn't like they were given very detailed instructions.

Danny felt the glass give way under his paws as he seamed to sink into the cockpit of the smoldering robot. He couldn't see the elf sucurring away until it was too late. He really wanted to catch him and ask questions. But as he seamed to sit there frustrated Peppermint points began to rain down. Well that wasn't such a bad turn of events.

The area suddenly shakes, and the sound of something mechanical...several somethings in fact, can be heard moving about. You...did defeat the scout right? RIGHT?! There's just no way...!

You don't get to finish that thought as a wave of JOY crashes through the workshop, destroying the walls of each area and opening up what appears to be the Main Warehouse!
