((Late reply, but yeah. I'm going to pm Cerebian and Friend of a vampire to see if they're still into continuing - after all, I'm in the same room as them. If not, I'll probably just have to time-skip ahead to leaving the Earth Kingdom...?))

Cerebian Kaito_7420 Hi, I am wondering if you are still interested in continuing to RP in the Avatar RP. I believe right now we have about three people interested in continuing as well as one new person. I would appreciate a response at your earliest convenience. Sadly Idon't think I'll be continuing the rp, I'm sorry. It was fun while it lasted. Friend of a vampire Kaito_7420 Hi, I am wondering if you are still interested in continuing to RP in the Avatar RP. I believe right now we have about three people interested in continuing as well as one new person. I would appreciate a response at your earliest convenience. earliestconvienience means as soon as I read the message^^ I"m still interested though I keep forgetting about it so it may take a few more of these to keep me postin' ((If you don't mind, I will edit the last things I did in the RP, and then I will post from there. Will add to this in a bit. Because Cerebian will not be joining us, I suppose I will control King Bumi for a short while, though I don't think I will be up to the task of playing King Bumi and/or Toph. It'll help bring Tally and Kaito to the Fire Nation at least, I suppose.)) Kaito kept behind the wall. The odd looking man was supposedly the king. He was stumped. Could he really rely on an old geezer like that to turn his life around? It seemed very unlikely, and Kaito felt defeated, as his whole journey would have been for nothing and his job lost in vain. Then, as Kaito was pondering his next move, a messenger bird could be heard flapping its wings a few times for speed control before swooping in to the audience hall to the old geezer.King Bumi eyed the flying messenger with a slight grin. As it approached, he turned and made a strange face to the messenger hawk, startling it a bit as it panicked to find a chance to land. King Bumi opened and read the invitation and gave an odd frown. "... an invitation to the Fire Nation's Mid-Autumn Festival, hmm?" he said in a low voice, "Going to have to check my schedule on that one." The bubbly demeanor in his voice made it clear he was putting on a false frown before, but now he was genuinely wondering if had other plans or not. Important kingdom-plans, of course. Then his face lit-up with a smile as he called across the room... "You, young'un! Don't think I don't know you're there; the walls have eyes and the halls don't lie! Come out here, boy, I've got plans for you and this pretty one here."Kaito cautiously stepped out into the audience chamber. Plans? What kind of plans could he intend? After all, he was spying on the king, and he half-expected to be thrown in prison. He kept an eye out for guards, in case they were planning on closing in on him, but there was no activity, and so he returned his gaze to the king."Now, the Fire Nation is planning a Mid-Autumn Festival. I want the two of you two to go and enjoy yourselves, and save other matters for later."((I'm not sure what else to have King Bumi do, but I'm not sure if I'm up to the task of handling multiple characters.)) King Bumi paused for a moment with a hint of hesitation, then added "Go with the girl, boy. The well-builders to the East could do with some waterbender help - various... water-related things. Uh... just go." He shrugged. "Meet me in the office, Callia, we have things to discuss." And with that, he back-flipped and dove headfirst, swishing through the floor like it was an illusion.Kaito turned his gaze to the girl and raised an eyebrow, "So that was the king, huh?"((I just realized... all this time, I got Ba Sing Se and Omashu mixed up. Let's just say I walked all the way from Ba Sing Se to Omashu already earlier. My bad. >.> Also, going to have to kill this post where it stands - I just opened a frozen water bottle that was thawing for a few minutes, and water burst out on my pants, chair, and floor. Lucky I wasn't holding it over the keyboard.))

(sorry^^') Tally struggled not to giggle through the conversation. She didn't really have a reason to but she was happy to have a job. When he called her pretty she let out a little laugh and blushed looking at the boy he talked to. She didn't consider herself pretty, it didn't really matter when there was so much fun stuff to do. She shrugged when he spoke to her, reacting slowly as she was still staring at the floor where he had disappeared. "I guess so" She said incredulously.

((It's okay - I've been pretty busy myself lately, so I check like every other day. I have a calculus midterm coming up this Friday, along with a lot of catch-up work.)) Vigilance left his eyes, and the boy seemed to relax a little more. "Hi, it seems we'll be working together," he said. His old instincts kicked in, and he wanted to just walk out of there. Why is this girl of any concern to me? I have a job, and I have a new life ahead. His thoughts lingered for a moment at the phrase "new life". He blinked away the watery feeling in his eyes as he felt his sister's presence and imagined hearing her whisper, "Here's your chance for a new life." He hesitated, then reluctantly held out a hand. "The name's Kaito." He paused for a moment, then smiled and nodded slightly at her bottle and added, "I see you're a water bender."

"I'm Tally" The girl nodded eagerly shaking his hand. "Yup. I'm horrible though" She giggled and studied him. As foolish as she was and so rarely observant she wasn't stupid. It was just more fun not to act like everybody else. Her eyes lit up and she let go of his hand pointing at him grinning, "Are you?" She asked excitedly, not quite making te connection that they were working together because there were many possible reasons for that but hoping she had finally found a teacher.

General Vahm stood in front of Azula, who, as usual, was sulking in a chair out in the courtyard.
"The Mid-Autumn Festival is coming up. That will be the perfect time to strike. Zuko will be having his party for the nobility, and it will be easy to sneak you in." The general spoke quietly, even though he knew nobody was in earshot besides his most trusted guards. One couldn't be too cautious.
Azula scowled at him. "Unfortunately, General, I seem to have nothing to wear to this gala, and there aren't any fairy godmothers popping up at this moment." She'd been behaving since her last outburst, but irritation at her situation and the world in general was making her prickly. She also hadn't been sleeping well as of late, being tormented by dreams of her family, in which her mother was most prominently featured.
General Vahm chuckled. "Have no fear, your fairy godmother is here. Or perhaps I should say fairy godfather?" Apparently, he thought this joke was the height of hilarity, and wouldn't stop smirking. Azula glared at him. "You have a poor sense of humor, General. Get to the point."
A flash of irritation passed across his face before he smoothed his features into a mask of pleasantness. "I have a plan, don't worry. You must simply be in your room by moonrise tomorrow night. Try not to kill my men when they come for you, or you won't be able to get back out."
Azula's jaw dropped. "You mean it? You'll get me out of here?" She felt almost giddy with excitement. "Excellent. You'll be well rewarded, General Vahm. I'll keep to my end of the deal, don't you worry." She was in such a good mood now that she even considered keeping her end of the bargain. Perhaps being married to this ruthless man wouldn't be so bad, provided he stayed ruthless against her enemies.
"Oh, and you'll need to take this before you go. It'll help you gain control over your firebending again as well as increase its power." He slipped a small pill into her palm. Azula studied it, noting its dark brown color and ovoid shape. "Once you're reinstalled as the Firelord, you can work on regaining control of your firebending without needing those pills, but this will be fine for now."
General Vahm walked away, leaving her with her thoughts. Azula smiled, closing her hand around the little pill. At last, her revenge on Zuko was at hand. And once he was out of the way, she'd take pleasure in hunting down that little waterbending peasant and torturing her. Next would be the Avatar, though she'd have to be careful in how she handled him. After all, the Avatar had taken away her father's ability to bend! Schemes began turning in her mind, and when the nurses came to escort her back inside, she simply smiled and let them guide her without a fuss.

It was the day before the festival and Kallan was busy dashing around the palace, double-checking everyone's preparations and giving orders to fix this arrangement there or add some decorations here. Sometimes she was required to stop and greet some visiting noble or dignitary and show them to their rooms as well as assign them a local guide. By late afternoon, she was extremely exhausted.
There were a few people she was still expecting. One was General Iroh, Lord Zuko's uncle. The others were the Avatar and the two Water tribe siblings, and a delegation from King Bumi of Omashu. The stress of waiting was starting to get to her, so she retreated to her office for a brief respite. To her surprise, a messenger hawk was waiting on the perch next to the window reserved for such birds. It gave a piercing shriek, as if berating her for making it wait. She hurried over to it and pulled the scroll out from its harness, then gave it a quick tickle behind its crest. The hawk chrrred with pleasure, then watched as Kallan unfurled the scroll and scanned it.
Dear Kallan, We hope this message finds you well. Your father and I will leave on the first day of the Mid-Autumn Festival to come to the capital city. Don't worry, we have reserved rooms at an Inn already, so you don't have to put us up in the palace. That would be quite rude, after all, to impose upon our Firelord like that. We cannot wait to see you, though. Please send us a time and place to meet during the festival with the messenger hawk and we will certainly be there.
P.S. Congratulations on being appointed an adviser to Firelord Zuko!
It was signed with her mother's slanted signature and her father's stolid-looking one. Kallan smiled and sat down at her desk, grabbing a feather pen from one side and dabbing it in the ink pot. Her reply was scrawled across the back of the scroll and quickly rolled back up. The messenger hawk flapped its wings in anticipation as she carefully slid the scroll back into its harness.
"Take this back to the sender, all right?" The hawk gave a piercing shriek again, as if acknowledging her request, and launched itself out the window. Kallan grinned and sat back down at her desk. Getting a letter from her parents had cheered her immensely. Now all she had to do was wait for the others to arrive. It didn't seem so bad now, knowing her family was on the way.

Exhaling silently as he watched the festival works Shoji remained silent keeping his attitude inside. Even with peace declared he could still feel eyes on him as if he were somehow misplaced, not that he minded. Local hostility just made it easier to be hostile back. Tapping a foot down firmly he smirked silently as a line of scafolding collapsed the earth beneat unnoticably shattering its supports. Even after such an untracable move he had no doubt he was the center of suspicion, even though they had no proof he half expected them to attempt to arrest him or drive him off but it seemed no one had the courage to do more than mutter and sneer. Jumping to his feet he glanced around the city, when night fell he'd have to start his 'investigation' of the fire nation. Turning away he started walking knowing the palace was the first place to start his search for corruption.

Kaito let out a faint chuckle at her modesty. "I'm sure you're not as bad as you say..." At least, he hoped not. Back in the North, a coworker attempted to bend ice and failed. Long story short, the shipyard (and its array of ice dams and ice ships) vanished in seconds, and the "tide" was abnormally high. Kaito readjusted the strap holding the large gourd on his back. "Yeah, I'm a water bender - not as good as my sister though. We might have been twins, but I was always a step or two behind her." He wasn't directly aware of it, but he talked about her in the past tense, and an odd tension drifted through the air. "She was the village prodigy, and I just shared her spotlight. My ice bending is shakier than hers, and..." He paused. He didn't know if he should mention the last fatal blood-bending his sister performed on that day so long ago. His sentence simply flopped to a dead stop, and he no longer knew what to add to the conversation.

Kallan leaned back in her chair and closed her eyes, taking a brief moment to relax and reflect on her plans. She wanted to take Zuko out into the city and see the festival with him. He definitely needed a break from the stresses of being one of the youngest and most controversial Firelords in Fire Nation history. He was controversial simply because he ended the war that had raged for 100 years. People who had made a living creating the Fire Nation war machines were unsure of their future job security. Of course, Zuko was in the process of creating a program that would turn such abilities to other, more peaceful uses, but in the meantime, he had to deal with criticisms from all sides.
A knock sounded on her office door. "Come in." A servant opened the door gingerly and bowed. "Miss Kallan, General Iroh has arrived." Kallan stood up and stretched, then said, "Thank you. Do me a favor and run down to the kitchens. Have them prepare a pot of jasmine tea for General Iroh and bring it up to the Firelord's apartments." She smiled, knowing the two family members would want to catch up. The servant bowed again and left to fulfill her request.
Kallan paused for a moment to gather her thoughts and compose herself into the right frame of mind for meeting with General Iroh, first adviser, war hero, and uncle to the Firelord. Once she felt ready, she set off.
The Dragon of the West was standing in the main courtyard, joking with his guards. Kallan approached him and bowed deeply.
"General Iroh, welcome. I am Kallan, second adviser to Firelord Zuko, and Assistant Chief of Staff here in the palace. Please, allow me to conduct you to the Firelord. I'm sure there's much you would like to share with him." She rose from her bow and held out one arm.
"Thank you very much. It is good to be back in the Fire Nation, and being welcomed by such a beautiful young woman does this old man's spirits good." He grinned at her and nodded. "Please, take me to my nephew."
Kallan smiled and began walking. She had a feeling she and the great Iroh would get along famously. As she walked, she said, "I took the liberty of ordering tea brought up from the kitchens. I hope jasmine is to your taste?"
"It's my favorite! How did you know?" Kallan merely smiled again and kept walking. She had her superior to thank for that. He knew what each royal family member preferred in terms of food, since the head cook was his older brother.
It didn't take long for them to reach the Firelord's apartments. She ushered the general into the sitting room and gestured for him to sit. Zuko was in his bedroom, she knew, most likely getting ready before greeting his uncle. It wasn't her place to intrude on his living space beyond this sitting room unless expressly invited, so she turned to leave.
"Oh, you are not going to stay and chat? Surely you have a moment to talk with an old man?" Iroh had a friendly smile and a twinkle in his eye. She bowed courteously and said, "Thank you very much, General, but I have duties to get back to."
"Ah, yes, that's right. The festival starts tomorrow. You must be very busy. Don't let me keep you, then." Kallan bowed and left the Firelord's apartments.
"Now I just have to wait for Kaito and Tally, the members of King Bumi's delegation. It's getting late, I hope nothing's happened to them."

Tally listened intently, always for a short bit. She could focus but only ever for a sentence or two then her mind followed only tangents. What did his sister have to do anything? All it did was make her want to meet her. Which she obviously couldn't do. She was about to start wondering if she could bend ice when he stopped talking, "And?" She asked wondering what else he had to say but she was also eager to learn. Her eyes darted across the room and her arms felt tense as she imagined some of the movement she knew well and resisted instinctively doing them.

A brief walk around the walls of the palace had confirmed that there wasn't a single point of clear entry that wasn't guarded. Shoji hadn't been expecting anything diffrent but if there was a way to get in without having to bend then that would have made his entrance far harder to pin on him. Sighing he shook his head, it couldn't be helped and anyway he didn't plan on getting caught. Wrapping his scalf around his face he crouched down easily creating a hole and a small tunnel under the palace walls and past the guards.
Emerging in what appeared to be some kind of garden he smiled to himself, his plan seemed to have worked without any problems so now all he had to do was get inside. The fading evening light provided all the cover he needed to seal the tunnel again and get a good look around the palace grounds, with everyone focused on the festival keeping out of sight wasn't hard. Still bending inside the palace was a little too risky and he'd be much better off if he could just slip in.

Zuko had spent most of his time preparing for the festival, or retreating from it all with Mai. Time with her seemed few and far between with all the minor, but many, decisions that had to be made in accordance to the festival. Thankfully Kallan had taken over the little things so he could relax for a little while and unwind. It would be the first major festival since his coronation, and Zuko was feeling a bit nervous.
Slender hands wrapped around his waist in a light embrace from behind. He smiled as Mai set her head on his shoulder and told him to let his cares fade away. He set his hands on top of hers and stayed like that for a while, just looking out the window at the palace and the Fire Nation beyond. The serene moment lasted much too short for Zuko, but he knew he should probably go and continue to greet those coming into the palace to stay for the festival. He turned around carefully in Mai's arms and tilted her chin up to kiss her softly. "I should go," he said to her softly.
"I know..." she whispered gingerly, and held his gaze a moment longer before she let him go, but put a finger up to his lips; "Don't ask me to go with you. You know how I am with... people. I'll find something to do around here."
"You have to come to the festival with me, at least once," Zuko said with a smile as he pushed her hand away from his mouth and kissed her lips once again.
She laughed and pushed him away as she rolled her eyes at him, "We'll see, now go, Zuko, I don't want you to keep anyone waiting just because of me."
Managing to steal a kiss on the cheek, he left her room with a hurried good-bye. When his uncle had arrived, he found out fairly quickly from a carrier pigeon. Instead of greeting him immediately, he was ushered into his own chambers by impatient maids who wanted to fix him up before he did any official business. Once his hair was up with the Firelord crest and he was dressed as casually as possible without actually looking casual, Zuko was free to do as he pleased.
It was only then when he'd heard that his uncle was waiting outside. With one complaint from the head maid, he walked out of the doors to greet his uncle with open arms. "Sorry to keep you waiting, Uncle," he said with a broad smile, "I hope you had a fair and uneventful journey."

((Sorry for the slight delay.)) Kaito was doubtful he was really going to tell this girl, who he'd just met. At the same time his heart was aching keeping it all inside, and maybe it'd give him some peace of mind. He decided she'd be better off knowing. She is rather curious... "My own village took our lives. Executed us for our crimes." He paused as the full weight of the memory sunk in. "We were still young, and they pushed us off of a cliff in sacrificial exile. Due to a Fire Nation supply blockade down the mountain, supplies were low, and there could only be one child per family. My sister and I were twins, so there would inevitably be bad news down the road. My parents refused to choose, and the two of us were made to look as similar as possible. I responded to her name and she to mine, and we could not both be outside the house at all times. Someone must have found out and reported it to the village elder, and he was furious. Out of a need for strong working individuals, my sister would be sacrificed, but I couldn't have that. She meant too much to me. I tried to take her place, but I was found out, and so we were both pushed off a cliff the next morning. The last thing my sister ever did was to..." Kaito nearly choked as he saw the mental images again. "...She bended blood, somehow, for the first and last time of her life to save me. I woke up encased in her frozen blood on an outcropping that would have killed me instantly if I fell to it." Kaito paused for her reaction. There was only one thing left to test whether she'd truly be a friend or run away. He pointed to the gourd, and in a quiet voice, he said, "What's inside this is the only thing she left me with to remember her by. I can't really call myself a bloodbender, though. I believe I'm many paces behind my sister, even now. I'm able to bend blood, but only hers." Kaito was as prepared as he could ever be for the girl beside him to run away.((And here's the character bio, retold in his own words to a girl he hopes won't consider him a freak, what with the keeping... his sister's... blood... and all...?))
