That is scary. The Liberal party is the same as the Tories.. sweatdrop

*runs away from Australia, then realises that she is on other side of world already xd

What's there to be afraid about? New Labour is hardly the same as the Australian Labor Party. In fact, it's more like the American Democrats.

@Raioga: Niph's not an Australian, I am. I posted my picture in one of the picture threads some time ago.

liberals in America are called hippies! lol jkz. I think that the American Democrats are on the brink of extinction. They've lost most of the seats in the house and the senate... but i wonder if that really matters anymore. I mean power in the U.S. mainly lies with the lobbyist for the big corporations. It's pretty hard to get past them... they're worst than sharks!!

yes the democrats are losing its seats but no they are not going to go 'extint' look at the bush and gore or bush and kerry they were both fairly close. if so many people suport the democrats then it will not disapear. they will just not influence the way this country is run... and besides i dont hink most americans (at least hope) will want another bush that soon. i mean look at the tragedy he has done to this country

so what do u people think about abortion?
I think it's good, not really a pro-life type of guy.
Though the people who go for abortions are just idiots, unless they conceived by rape of course. But I think abortion is much better than bring a child into the world without a caring mother and family. What's worse is that we, the taxpayers, end up paying for this baby. Pro-choice for me. 3nodding

I am some what neutral on this topic... sumtimes i am for it and some times I am against it.. It has its advangtages but it also has its disadvantages. I guess I am more toward the pro-choice also.

The thing with me is, I'm not religious and don't care about all the moral issues concerned wuith abortion. Sure it may be technically 'alive', but who cares? Not me, that's who. Oh yeh, I'm also quite cold-hearted so I just plain don't care about a lot of things haha sweatdrop

I am very religious... but that is not the reason i am neutral.... I believe that is some what alive and that the "baby" may grow up to be something successful and could change the world but we will never know. In the sense i think it is wrong because we will never know what may have been.

In opposition i believe it is there choice.. and if raised in a harmful environment it can be even worse. It can be better to have an abortion then for a teenager try to raise the child or for the child to be raised in a abusive and unsafe environment.

and for me the second point is more scary for me...
so i am pro-choice

And when it comes to women, or even young girls, who have been raped... how can you deny them an abortion? It's just wrong.

yes i totally agree.. yet they also have a pill that keeps a raped victim from getting pregnant. However, they must take it close after they were raped and many do not know about it. and many doctors do not amke it aware to raped victims that it is an opition. An abortion is also a way..

Yeh it's called the morning-after pill. In britain, (I don't know how it works in other countries) if a girl has sex without using protection, she can usually just go to her family doctor or a sexual health clinic to ask for the pill. It's totally confidential and free so it's a good option, but if the pill is taken too late then it may fail, so abortion has to be a method which is made available.

are u kidding?!!!! their rights are diminishing daily.. so many states are outlawing gay marriage which poses many problems... if htey want to get married they can not.. and if htey want a child and they addopt only one gets custody, not both like a regular 'married' couple... also many get life insurance from their spouse when a gay couple can not get married their spouse do not recieve the life insurance that regualr couples could recive.. how is that fair?
how is that not a problem!!!!

In my opinion, gays can do whatever they want, as long as they don't try to convert me 3nodding That's pretty much my logic on everything, including religion, politics, etc.
