I know! I mentioned him on the first page, but then I kind of forgot about him, figuring there wouldn't be a big chance of him showing up....

I've genuinely been spazzing out every few hours for the past three days, every time it hits me again. whee Notice my avatar? Too bad about my hair, though. Oh jeez, I cannot wait to see him interact with Squall.

Supposedly he'll be able to shoot while running (run while shooting?), so that ought to be fun, though I can imagine it being really annoying if you're fighting him. Apparently he can use rocket launchers, too. And I assumed he'd have Desperado as his EX Burst, but I just read it'll be something new called "Zendanhassha," which means "Full Salvo."

I actually hadn't even thought about a voice for him, but... jeez, I don't know. I kind of have a voice in my head for him, but it doesn't sound like any characters from anything that I know.

Ohmygosh, and this means they're going to make a Play Arts figure of him! And we'll probably get a new version of The Man with the Machine Gun!

SO. HAPPY. Gosh. whee

Omigosh a new "The Man with the Machine Gun!" Probably the best battle theme ever. I have like four versions of it, the original, two orchestrated (one live, one recorded) versions, and the Black Mage version. That's another thing I can't wait for in this game, new music! I kinda cheated with XIII, having downloaded the CD when it came out in Japan (it was a moment of weakness).

I've also been randomly yelling out "Laguna!" My sister thinks I'm insane but she unfortunately (or maybe fortunately for her) didn't watch me struggle through VIII, all the while yelling out obscenities at the battle system, so she really doesn't know what Laguna is like (a tragedy, I know). I'm just so excited though!

Nice avie by the way...I like. I was just looking back at the character claiming page and I noticed that you claimed Laguna....lucky. 4laugh Nah, I'm just glad I was able to claim an awesome character like Fang. *Gets starry eyed over dragoons* Can't wait for Kain....

Oh my goodness, his EX Mode has the best name ever. "The Faeries Have Come." And his EX Burst is Desperado. Translation issues, I guess. Also, apparently he uses the freaking Ragnarok in his HP attacks.

Japanese voice actor: Hiroaki Hirata! Had to look him up; I didn't recognize the name, but he's Sanji in One Piece, Suikotsu in Inuyasha, Gojyo in Saiyuki... he's Balthier! Wow. I guess that precludes having Balthier in Dissidia in the future, though. confused

Also, he's the Japanese voiceover for Johnny Depp. xd

And finally, his first alternate costume: Galbadian soldier! No big surprise, I guess.

*goes off to look up more* I hear there are videos.

Yes! Faeries! I have no idea what its supposed to allude to, but still, faeries!! Omigosh the Ragnarok?! That's gonna be pretty epic although I don't really remenber him having any contact with it...probably just wanted to bring in bigger guns.

As for voice actors, I would really like to see someone like Eric Vale, but I think his style is a little more youthful hyperness (if you've ever seen the English dub of Hetalia, you know what I mean) which doesn't really fit Laguna. He's immature, but not exactly hyper. However, he did play Yuki in Fruits Basket so he could probably pull it off. Oh and connection, Eric Vale plays the Sanji in the English dub of One Piece (and many American voice actors follow certain Japanese actors). Just throwing that out. Most of the voice actors I know already have FF roles (I almost yelled out Johnny Yong Bosch til I realized he played Firion *face palm*). They really had to pull in some up and starting actors for XIII so I shouldn't get my hopes up too much for someone I know. All I can hope for is that whoever they choose carries Laguna well. Otherwise their might be mass riots and facebookian threats. xp

Hahaaaa, the reference is whenever Squall is the "dreams" in VIII where he's Laguna, an Laguna can tell something weird is going on, but he blames it on faeries.

I really can't hear Laguna with a voice that's particularly high or deep.... He definitely can't sound too young, but kind of smooth, and lighthearted. Maybe I can see Michael Lindsay? He was Urahara in Bleach, for one, and he had additional voices in XIII. I looked up Eric Vale, and he sounded totally different in every video I found, so I can't tell. x_x Looks like a lot of people are saying Crispin Freeman, but I think his voice is too deep. Actually, I feel like most VAs people are suggesting are too deep.... Best suggestion I've heard elsewhere was some guy named Taliesin Jaffe, whom I'd never heard before, but looked up. Apparently he was Edge in the DS version of IV.

Okay, as of now, I've been looking Laguna up so often that I just need to type "f" into my address bar for "finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Laguna_Loire/Dissidia" to pop up. xd

Oh wow, it's been a long time since I've played VIII (I blame it on the junction system).

Yeah I just reallly liked Eric Vale as America in Hetalia and he's one of the few voice actors I know that haven't played a FF character. Haven't really heard Michael Lindsay before (never did get far in Bleach) so I don't have anything to say about that, but I did notice he did additional voices in XIII so that's always a good indicator of a possible role (or at least compared with someone who has had no experience with FF). I agree with you though about Crispin Freeman, he really has a deep voice although I will admit he has the sarcasm down pat. He was also Rude and even if he's considered a minor character, they really shy from using the same people twice (especially someone with a notable voice like Freeman). Hmmm, never heard of Taliesin Jaffe. I'll probably need to pull out my IV again and try to find a scene where Edge talks, then get back to you on that one. Got a new one though, how about Eric Stuart? He's such a classic voice actor and his forte seems to be mature characters with little immature twists (like Brock's experience with girls and the nonexistant memory of Slayer's Gourry). I'm surprised he hasn't been used yet, but then again I don't think he's doing that much voice acting anymore. Still just something to think about.

Great, now all we need is for the person to do the voice over for Farris's male voice impersonation in an FF5 remake, and we have the Ninja Pirate with the Machine Gun.

Squall in a black tee?! lol pretty awesome

It has been stated that Yuna will be in Dissidia, but no pictures have been released....fanboy mode, engaged
PostPosted: Thu Dec 23, 2010 2:38 pm

YUNA?! Yessssssss! It's probably gunner!Yuna, but I so hope it's somehow summoner!Yuna.... I don't know if I'd be able to enjoy the rest of the game as much with a reminder of that abomination hanging around. I'm more worried for her character than anyone else's.

The exact text I found on about ten websites
New details from this week’s Famitsu reveals that Final Fantasy X summoner,Yuna, will be joining the cast of Dissidia Duodecim 012. No word on if the Yuna to appear in the game will be summoner Yuna from FFX or Yuna from FFX-2.

Final Fantasy’s producer Tetsuya Nomura and director Mitsunori Takehashi also confirmed the following:

There will be more characters from post-SNES Final Fantasy series
Yuna was shown as a new character at Jump Festa
Returning characters will have a lot of changes, such as Kefka (FF6) and Shantotto (FFXI)
The Duodecim Story Mode will have 15+ hours game play
The original Dissidia story will be included and enhanced, making total play time over 60 hours
Besides the new 3D World Map System, the Board based System from the first game will remain be in the game
More summons will be available in the battles
Laguna from FFVIII was left out in Kingdom Hearts BBS so he can debut in this game
A surprise will be revealed at the upcoming 1st Production Department Premier show -TheMagic Box
Dissidia Duodecim 012: Final Fantasy is set for a March 3, 2011 in Japan.

And apparently the game is due out in Japan March 3.... That's actually much sooner than I expected, but yay! whee

I just found out that Edea is not really a "playable" character.
It's Ultimecia's new alternate costume.
