Gladice was as sunny as ever in her greeting, but Talna not so much. "I'm fine," Bela replied with a generic smile on her face, like any good modern day woman would; even if their lives were really screwed up at the moment, as they usually were. Bela's was, anyway. Just look at the mayhem Keith's kids had brought her the other day! John, especially. Who picks up a baby that carelessly and runs around with it? Kids. "Gladice, Talna." She gave each a small nod in aknowledgement, though the latter seemed to avoid her eyes.
"They'll probably be better than that asparagus and glazed donut combination he made me try that one time," Bela's eyes looked guiltily to the side, remembering when she spat that crap out just seconds after it had went in her mouth. In front of Xeiro, too. "I swear, sometimes he must be half-asleep when he writes some of those ideas down. And it looks like he thinks that just because I'm his wife, that makes me his guinea pig for his 'experiments', too!" Bela ranted, not being as careful as she should be around these two. Though she didn't know it; these two were probably even bigger and even shadier bitches than she was!
Bela, however, zoned out of the conversation at the mention of housework. That was not her forte. She had managed to reach only one of Gladice's cookies when the conversation gave a quick turn towards babies. Why did women always resort to talk about children? Her attention went to Talna, "Again, already?" Bela asked, finding it rather incredulous to have more than to children. Two was enough for her, and that was how it was gonna stay. Because Bela's kitchen was officially closed. Her question was ignored, as she was suddenly surprise attacked by Gladice. Not really, she just didn't expect to be addressed this early. "Oh, thanks. That'll make him really happy to hear that." Bela smiled at Gladice's nice comments about Xeiro's cooking, an honest smile.
But then Talna had to open her mouth. She didn't know if the first was an intentional dig at her or not, but that second one sure was. b***h. Bela thought, schooling her features to keep a straigh face. "I wish I could, it's Xeiro! He's really rigid about him cooking the meals at home, says it compensates for taking care of his--" baby, as he would say, "Babies all day." Bela smiled, still not having been able to take a bite of Gladice's cookie. Instead, she simply placed it on her plate for later. Her jaw felt a little tense at how much she wanted to b***h off Talna right there. It had been so subtle, so sneaky. "He knows I love breakfast in bed, though. Has Turner ever done that for you, Talna? I mean, he's soo hardworking. But, don't you think you deserve a nice surprise like that now that you're pregnant? I can even tell Xeiro to give your husband a few tips in the kitchen, I'm sure they could find a recipe or two that involved turnips. You two do love turnips so much." Bela smiled not too sincerely, shooting a jab right back at Talna for her husband's inability to cook or, possibly, romantic and sweet. Poor Talna, never having her husband whip her up an breakfast in bed. Not. Yeah, fight for your pride, Bela!

Gladice, being the happy old lady that she was, had totally miss the interaction between Bela and Talan. Of course those two just loved each each other and would never make sneaky remark. Well, not in each others face at least. They would do it in a heartbeat in their back, however. What could you expect? They were housewives! At least they weren't desperate. "Oh, I know.. Sometimes, I just have to wonder about Ellie. I mean, don't get me wrong, she's a lovely girl and Yoakim is happy with her but... If you take a step back and look at her whole family... They do have a history of being... Well.. Let's just say that when a Vatonage is near, you should keep your husband close." She had no idea if it was intentional or not, but it was a fact! When was the last time a Vatonage got itself a partner... that wasn't already someone's else? Ellie with Kade, Blair with Keith, her brother with his highchool girlfriend... she had forgoten his name... Then Cassandra...with just about everybody... Even Allan back in the days! Oh, she remembered well.
Her attention when back on Bela who was talking about the old woman's favourite subject: Babies! "Oh, it seems like everyone these days are having babies! Teresa did the right thing by opening a day care. It's good to know that the population of the island is on the rise. You two, Yoakim had a little boy, the mayor got a couple of girls, don't ask me what his wife was thinking, even Keith got himself some children! I would have never expected that of him. Sure, they were adopt, but still. Never would have thought it was his style." It was more Yoakim to start a family, but she wouldn't complain if her youngest grandson had decided to turn his life around and start a good family. Proof that everyone could change.
"But you know what worries me? With so many children lately? It's those twin brothers, the Tepes? They own the general store... You must have all heard the rumours about them, right?" Not like it wasn't well known that they had been suspected from ****** with Romane and Neil in town at least. Count on them to make sure that the whole town knew when something good or bad happen. Of course, they had only been suspected and not officially arrested... but still! "And I'll tell you... I don't have trouble believing it! With all those rumours about those two.. .Drugs, ******, sexual encounter with minors, promiscuosity... and that one.. What was his name again? Daniel? He keep dressing himself! I heard that he loves to fool men into thinking he's a woman until it's too late, if you know what I mean.... and he doesn't even make that good of a woman either! I've tasted his cooking at the festival. Disgusting. No wonder their little bistro had to shut down." Oh, gossiping about people. It was so fun! National sport of the housewife.

Breakfast in bed? Where did Bela live – the inn? She didn't think even the inn did that sort of business! Talna hadn't even thought of having that done to her, to be honest.. But, when she pictured it.. Turner cooking something for her before she woke up and serving her a nice, classic breakfast before she even woke up~ ..Wait. No, that didn't sound pleasant! The house hadn't been swept, the chickens would have needed to be fed, the cow brushed, the cat was probably begging to get out – oh, not to mention the children! She could just hear them screaming! She hurriedly shooed away such a horrifying vision with a forced smile, tuning her ears back in on the current conversation. Oh, she was just happy Turner wasn't the sort to pull a surprise on her! Her little heart wouldn't be able to take such a spontaneous action! “Fer just takin' care of the kids? My, ya'll must have all the time in the world!” She chuckled at the woman, coming back into her confidant mood once again. “'Course, yer husband only works in a bakery. Must be mighty easy ta just bake all day.” That did sound pretty simple~! Without the animals, house, kids – she bet it was just easy pickings for them!
Oh, but Talna wasn't envious of them or anything – it was more that she found them to be a bit on the sad side of things! Having such a simple life should be only reserved for the elderly, like Gladice! And even Gladice was doing more than just sitting around all day.. She shook her head and looked back at said elder while she continued to gab about the townsfolk. The blond's brows rose as she heard that snippet about the Vatonage's, curiosity entering her eyes while she leaned toward her, “Oh, Gladice, go on! Ya should know I've been off the grapevine fer longer than ya'll.” She didn't know one thing about Ellie! Well, outside of her being wedded to Yoakim and maybe a little bit of drama she glanced over the papers, but she didn't have much time to actually read it. ..But, now that she was listening, maybe she should! The Tepes? A maternal instinct had her tensing with her fingers resting on her hardly noticeable baby bump in a protective fashion – *****? A crossdresser at that!
“Don't the police know? They ought ta take them off before they try somethin'!” She fretted with a wary glance between them – they were all mothers, weren't they? Gladice had grandchildren, too, so she should know what that panic was about! Oh, her babies could be preyed on by some frightening pair running the general store, of all places! It was a good thing she made her own bread, milked their own cow, and used their own eggs or else they could have passed by the pair! Who knows? In a town like this, they could have already seen eachother! Ah, it was such a scary thought!

Bela held in the growl she was holding in, stupid Talna! She was sure in the olden days she could a pretty little petite girl like her apart, even before breakfast. But, she was with Gladice now. Which meant she had to keep up her sweet girl facade, not be a total b***h like she wanted to. So, instead of indulging the other b***h in front of her, the one in sheep's clothing, maybe even literally. Poor as she was. Hmph, like she knew anything about what happened out in the real world! Just let her keep ruining her nail beds, plowing the ground with her fingernails and shaking the bed with her husband. She'll be none the wiser in her little bubble. As Bela saw it, she'd have to stop by the Inn, which she had found out recently was taken under Connor's wing. Connor, of all people! Ridiculous! Connor, however, was not who she'd be looking for. Moreover, she'd give Keith a little drop by. Give him a mouthful he escaped with how Ryder is, and to scheme something against this hick town version of the perfect little house wife.
Bela was snatched back up to attention with the mention of the Vatonage's, "Oh yeah, I remember them." Bela nodded, remembering all of them now. Yoakim, that a*****e. Acting all high and mighty last time, when he cheated on his boyfriend and MARRIED the b***h! Bela still had yet to sow some seeds of distrust between that couple, but she'd get around to it. He earned it those 2 years back. Oh yeah, Bela still remembers. Bela really knows how to hold a grudge. "Hadn't the youngest been stabbed a few years back, or something?" Bela asked, not exactly pointing out that it had been Gladice's GRANDSON who did it. "I hadn't followed about her condition since then." She shrugged, not caring much for any of that family. She just really wanted to get back at Yoakim, and maybe slap Blaire for not having a better leash on Connor. But that's it.
And then the Tepes, which ignited a much more passionate reaction in her. "That's not true!" She said quickly, coming to their defense. Her brow furrowed, "I know both of them personally, and I know neither of them would do those things! They are good guys," She said softer, taking a gulp of breath, "They just get a really bad rap." She said, her face going for more of a soft pained look. Hasn't Vladimir been through enough? The strong instinct to protect, which she now understood was Mother Hen-ly in nature, always kicked whenever any of her chickadees were threatened. Her family and close friends were her chickadees, and she'd peck the eyes out of whoever decided to hurt them.

Of course, there wasn't anything better than gossiping in the back of the 4th woman to bring three others together! Ellie should be proud to be used like that in order to make people like each other’s! Before going on, the old woman took another cookie; they were pretty good after all! Oh, it was so fun to gossip and eat pastries and cookies like that in the town square at noon! She hadn’t done that ever since people had left the island after the hurricane, but that felt so long ago now. It had been almost 10 years! Who would have thought that the island would regain such a life spark! Sure, sometime she’s like that spark to die when it was a Sonata’s spark, but that was another subject. ”Oh, look at you Talna! Wanting to know gossips like that, shame on you!” The old woman said, not sounding serious at all, with a little wave of the hand. She loved them gossip as much as the next woman!
”Well, you haven’t known them for long, but… Before you returned to the island, Talna, my Yoakim wasn’t dating Ellie at all! In fact… he was dating Kade, the male hairdresser!” She said, adding in a little shock in her voice, like if she had revealed an hundred years old secret. Which it really wasn’t… everyone on the island knew about all that! ”One day, Yoakim and Ellie just eloped together! No warning! That poor Kade was so devasted, hadn’t seen it coming at all.” Even though every signs in the world was there to point it out. The only thing missing would have been a big flashing neon sign. Gladice would have added that it had happen at the masquerade, but… no one talked about that masquerade. Ever.
”Oh, yes, Bela! Blair did get stabbed. Quite a mess that night was. No one really understand what had happen, but it seem like love and other drugs had been involved.” She wasn’t trying to hide anything that Keith had done, for no one other than the involved parties actually knew what exactly had happen. Blair didn’t said a word about it, Keith was too busy being in a coma, had Conor… was Conor. Try to make anything out of what that boy tried to say. All that the old woman really knew was that whatever had happen, Blair had been the one to get the short end of the stick.
She returned her attention on Bela when she started defending the Tepes Twins. Of course, the old woman frowned at that. She didn’t knew Bela associated herself with people like that, but maybe, she was just blind to who they really were! ”Oh, Bela! I’m afraid that, perhaps, you don’t know them as well as you would think so! The ***** report came from the police! I saw it myself! One of the perk to work in the government office… You might think them good men but… with all those rumours… There isn’t smoke without fire! There ought to be some truth in them.”

It didn't seem like Bela had anything more to say.. Good. Talna could put her attention onto Gladice for now while the woman thought what she said over. Bela was still such a new housewife that she of course had rooms for mistakes in how she went about things – but, that didn't mean Talna would let it slide! So, she would have to correct her just as she would any new animal they got on the farm. In the least offensive way possible, Talna had automatically pegged Bela as a cow and, if their own little cow at the farm was any learning experience, asserting dominance was the first step in getting a cow to listen to her! Once she recognized that, then Talna could help the woman into something more respectable – but, it was too soon for that. Besides, she was busy gossiping to really give the proper attention to the other.
“Just keepin' up.” She replied to Gladice as innocently as she could muster, smiling in amusement at the elderly woman. Couldn't blame her for wanting to know what was happening with the people! After all, with how few people there were, it was bound to happen that she would run into some of these troublemakers – or even Turner! So, she needed to know what to expect! Plus, it was mighty interesting stuff~ She raised her brows at what she said, a hand going to cover her mouth lightly with a muttered, “Oh, my..” Yoakim liked both men and women? One of those fancy bisexuals! Why, she wished one of her kids were like that too – then she could have something to talk about~! ..Oh, well, they were too young for that anyway. But, back on topic; he left Kade then went with Eleanor..? Wait, stabbed?! She looked back over at Bela with widened eyes when she said that, her eyes moving back to Gladice when she replied to that. Blaire got stabbed? Drugs? Love? “Seems like I missed a whole lot down here!” She chuckled out with a shake of her head in astonishment.
Oh, but, done with that nonsense – back to the *****. She frowned as that topic came up, much more grim than before. Elopement and matters of love turned bad – yes, horrible, but not horrifying. Not like the ideas of some child molesters in town. Honestly, they would probably have been lynched if her grandmama had anything to say about it! She looked over to Bela as she spoke up quite suddenly, raising an eyebrow. “Ya know them?” She said skeptically, unsure how to really take that. Bela was still a flimsy mother at best, but she couldn't be stupid enough to let her children around such men! So, that could either mean Bela was much worse than Talna had pegged her as or she honestly thought they were fine. Either way, Talna nodded along with what Gladice had to say; the town representative had to know which way was right. “Gladice is right. People always think they know someone 'til they get dragged off ta jail. Fer yer children's sakes, I'd keep 'em away from any of yer lil' ones.” She would like to say that they shouldn't associate with them period, but if Bela was already friendly – may as well go to the next best thing.

Bela wasn't really surprised, people around here believed anything the police said. Even if there was someone as ridiculous as Romane, who by Walter's account would go as far as believing someone like Neil, working there. It was a wonder that someone like her still worked in the police. But, in any case, Bela couldn't complain too much about her. She was the one who put away that terrible man Carlo, along with Rachel, all those years ago. They were just two, but Bela didn't like to think it been such a short time ago.
This time the two ganged up on her, Gladice and Talna. She couldn't be weak now, she had voice her opinion on this! But, she didn't want to go and blurt out Vlad's secret past, not to these gossipers! "Look, I know Vlad probably better than anyone on this island. Aside from his brother, of course. He would not touch a child like that, EVER. I've come to know him personally and intimately in the past, and we both went through that horrible ordeal with the kidnappings," She didn't shudder, "He's a changed man, and I know it." She said more firmly, her hand gripping what was in her hands very tightly. She wasn't about to let some ignorant women who knew nothing about her friend to speak so lowly of him!
"Heck, have you girls even seen him these last two years? I assure you, Vladimir is clean. No matter how much of a womanizer he is or was, I know he wouldn't stoop that low." Bela nodded, a solemn look on her face. They'd just have to believe her, because she had no other way to prove this to them now. "That other one, Dante, I'm not so sure about him, though." She turned her head away, looking at nothing in particular. Just because she cared about Vlad she'd give a ******** about Dante, not at all. She just knew him through association with Vlad, and other endavours, but she held nothing to say about the flaming queen.

(Oh God, completly forgot about this.. Sorry D8]
"Mmm...." Gladice listened carefully to what Bela had to say. She really did knew them personally. Well, not that she didn't believe someone couldn't change, just look at her own grandson, but it was always hard to believe until you saw it yourself. However, she really had no clue that Vladimir had been part of the kidnapping. She just knew about Bela, Junior, Angelina (and God did she knew about it >>), and that poor boy who had been killed... what was his name again? Well, either way, he wasn't Vlad, because that one was very well alive. "Well, if you say so Bela, I suppose I can give him the benefice of the doubt. I don't think anyone can really be worst than Gaston, anyhow." She said with a little nod of her head. And even then, Gaston had some redeeming qualities. After all, he was doing a fine job bringing people to the island... if only he wasn't ruling over it on top of that...
"But not his little drag queen of a brother. For all I care, that little repugnant cockroach can burn in the flames of hell time times! Oh, you have no idea how much I hate that man... I bet it's because of him that all those rumours about his brother started. He must be going around pretending to be Vladimir and doing all those... stuff." Oh, she could't even bring herself to say it out loud. Yes, Dante definitely was the bad one of the two. She had no idea how that brother of his could put up with him. She would have kicked him out long ago! And it would seem like Bela agreed. "If I were you, Talna, I'd always send Turner to the store if you ever need anything there. You'd never know what someone queer like him could do to you to you."

-Safe to say its a new day?- Aleksey was walking around town, just to enjoy the still nice weather of Nirvani. When he spotted the cuutest of baby bunnies hopping along the road. Picking it up Aleksey decided to take it with him, where ever he was going, he would just find a nice field for it and plop it in the grass somewhere. But first to get it out of the town. Oh! Maybe he could bring it back to the farm and have it live around his house! Alot of animals seemed to live around his house, it was nice. Wait.. why had he left his farm today? He had a destination in mind.. possibly the Clinic to visit Mei and Mindy. Oh but he forgot the Borscht. Damn.. well he could still visit!

Mei probably should have been at work at this time of day, but somehow, she hadn't gotten in trouble for hiding in the clinic during her shift, and so she decided that she was accomplishing the same amount of work by taking a walk instead. The summer was almost over, afterall, and she felt it was a waste to spend it indoors. And so she wandered around the town square, far enough away from the clinic that she didn't need to worry about being seen, but close enough that she could pop back in if she needed to.
She had just finished her eighth lap around the square when she noticed a man walking ahead of her. A very large man, in fact. "Mister Aleksey," she waved at him to get his attention as she approached him. "Hello, are you taking a walk?" she questioned. Well, he could be doing things, but it was such a nice day, chores would be a waste of a perfectly nice afternoon.

"Oh little Mei! Pryvet. How are you? I was coming to visit i think." Aleksey said as he questioned his own thoughts. He shook his head and held out the bun bun in his hands, it was a tiny baby white bunny. It was busy chewing on his glove before it started cleaning itself and its tiny ears. "I find bunny. Isnt it cute? Oh! Do you want bunny? I was just going to take it to farm so it could live there, with everything else that following me around." Aleksey said with smile. "How is Mei doing?"

"The clinic?" Mei questioned with a puzzled expression. It had to be the clinic, he didn't know where she lived, but it still didn't hurt to ask. She didn't want to be terribly surprised when she opened the door to apartment to find Aleksey standing there. Regardless, she was glad she had run into him while she was out and about, because she may have missed him, if he had gone to the clinic now.
Her smile faltered, however, as Aleksey pointed out the rabbit he was holding. It certainly was cute, but already, Mei could feel the back of her neck begin to tickle, and she took a step back. "I didn't know there were rabbits around here," she remarked, looking at the rabbit sadly. It was so cute, but it didn't look hypoallergenic to her, and that meant she had to stay away. "Ahh, no thank you. I'm allergic... And I live with a cat girl," she added the part about Catrina in a softer tone. There really was no way to explain the situation properly. She didn't want to think what Catrina would do to a pet rabbit. She had seen what had happened to wild ones, afterall.
Her smile returned full force when Aleksey asked how she was doing. "I am fine, are you enjoying the summer, Mister Aleksey?" she asked politely. "It's too bad that it's almost gone. The summers here are so nice. In China, it's always so humid and unpleasant." Oh, Asian summers.

"Da! The clinic." Aleksey nodded with a smile when Mei asked about it. He pulled back the rabbit and stepped back himself when Mei said she was allergic. Aw he didnt mean to bring a bunny that made Mei all allergic! "Oh sorry Mei i not know!" Aleksey said with wide eyes and an apologetic look. When Mei asked about the summer Aleksey smiled broadly and nodded. "I love it! Its so warm, ive just being lazy and enjoying it all." Aleksey said to her. "How is.. fall here? That is what its called, da? Fall?" Aleksey asked.

Mei stared at the rabbit sadly for a moment, as Aleksey moved back. It was so cute and fluffy, she wanted to hold it and hug it and indulge in the fluffy cuteness, but if she wanted to breathe, she had to stay away. Sometimes she hated her luck. Why did she have to allergic to the one thing she imagined would make her life exponentially better? Oh well, that's why she had Catrina. And Xian Ren Zhang, her cactus, but he was looking a little under the weather lately. "Ah, please don't worry," she shook her head as he apologized. At least he was considerate, unlike Mao, who still insisted on bringing his cat to work. She could never thank Catrina for kidnapping Newt enough.
Thankfully, they had moved onto the subject of weather. Mei really did like the weather on the island, it was always comfortable, even when it was hot or cold. "It's very cool. Sometimes it gets cold, but it's nice. It's always nice," she replied brightly. She never wanted to go back to humid, humid China ever again! "Is it cold in Russia in the fall? Don't you get hot?" She was intrigued by Russian weather. It was strange to imagine that the country above hers could be so different. Then again, she had only ever been in Beijing, never in the areas away from the capital.
