Starwolf BlinkingPetrichor It grows on you, I could NOT stand Prime at first but now I friggin love it! Starscream's my favorite EVER! Yeah, I found that out... I do like the art style now. And Starscream's just awesome! Do you roleplay, any chance? Would you care to? To give it a try, if you don't already? There were very few things that made Prime bearable for me: Ratchet, Starscream and Breakdown, I'd just plain stop watching it if any of those characters was taken out. IDK, it feels like Prime was trying to emulate what was done well in Animated and it falls short of it.

GLJordan seems like they were trying to do a little bit of everything but not well Agreed. In trying to copy a little bit from every other series they've ended up firmly in the no, wrong territory. I won't be watching S3 when it comes out, I only watched S2 because a friend bothered me about it and spent a good half the series wondering what the hell I was doing watching it! That and a brand new show without any constraints or timing issues does NOT need TWO clip shows; just no. The Starscream one was fine but the Fowler one was utterly pointless.

They are shaking things up for season three. Predicons confirmed and Dinobots hoped.

Neither of which really makes me want to watch it tbh.
They need to work on the characters more then the big concepts, none of them have really had all that much character development.
They're comparatively flat, especially when compared to some of the character arcs in Animated (Especially Prowl, watching the early eps and comparing him to how he is in S3 is awesome, they did such a good job with it that you don't notice it unless you do that with it).

Arcee mellowed out some, Ratchet grew into less of a grump-butt.
I feel like Prime focuses more on the Decepticons than the Autobots. Starscream as a TON of depth. I've noticed that I relate more to the decepticons than the autobots. Prime's a darker show, it's more of a narrow playing field where as Animated was a HUGE playing field because Cybertron was still around. I loved both series but you have to watch the series for what they are. You can't watch one expecting it to be the other. I HATED prime until I watched it without my anger for Animated being cancelled.

Arcee has marginally mellowed, I'd hardly call it progress, she still makes the same stupid choices that she did in S1.
And poor Ratchet, he's become a comedy relief character and had very little in the way of growth.
Bumblebee is just plain annoying, the 'chirping' was 'cute' I'm sure but it bugs me. XD
Bulkhead is a bit meh, he's literally just the big guy.
And Prime himself ... yeah ... barely any actual development despite the opportunity with it at the start of S2 (Wasted, sadly).
My point about Animated was more that Hasbro showed that they COULD do good character driven work only to take a step back from it in Prime and I find that disappointing.

the whole point of Prime is that he has the maturity ,experience and wisdom to be a great leader which usually comes at the end of one's growth.

That doesn't mean zero character development.
Look at Prime in the IDW comics, he's still growing and adapting, he isn't a flat character unlike he is in the series named after him.
In fact, the name of the series doesn't even make any sense ...

I could use a Ratchet and a Breakdown for my guild.... would you be interested?

The Decepticons have more depth, and seem more real as far as character developement and motives/motivation... the Autobots are more 2D, it seems. Would you care to join my guild and rp as one or the other... Autobots and Decepticons are both needed as are other ponies.... its the first link in my signature. But Decepticons are needed in the second link as well. I need an Optimus Prime, and Jack Darby, an Arcee, and Bulkhead and more.
