Aubri gathered up the papers. "Thank you, everybody. I'll send these out as soon as possible.
"That about wraps up business for today. Do any of you still have questions? If not, you're all free to leave, if you wish."
Dau yawned, stretching and blinking, sleepily, up at Kat. Then he got up, settled on the nearest clean area of couch to her, yawned, and went back to sleep.

Trin smiled graciously at Aubri. "Thanks so much for this opportunity. And though I'd love to stay and chat, I've got to go make sure the kids aren't tearing up the house."
Smiling at the others, she stood and stretched. "I guess I'll see you later then?" she asked as she shut the door.

"Well, I say this was a productive afternoon. Aubri, would you mind sending me that recipe? For the brownies? I think they'd go over well with the little ones, though I'm not sure how good an idea it'd be, considering the sugar and all..." Reeshie said as she stood up and stretched. She fixed her jacket walked to the door just after Trin had closed it. "I, too, would love to stay, but I fear I have an appointment that I keep putting off scheduled for tonight and I have paperwork I must prepare," she said as she opened to door. She nodded to each of them and smiled.
"Till next we meet, arrivederci mio amici," she stated her farewell before walking out the door, pulling it shut behind her.

And so the first of our next two unlucky souls arrives, mm? Abolesce commented, sleepily, from where he was draped over the couch.
Aubri laughed, thankful that, for once, her "children" weren't home. She didn't really feel like having to keep all of them in check. Making her way over to the door, she said, "Well, I'm just going to give the Uluen to 'em today, anyway.... screw the necklaces. I'm not having those two girls in my house longer than necessary."
And with that, she opened the door.

"Mm. Get in here, let's get this over with. Your little bundle of joy has been tearing up my bedroom." She turned, leading him into the living room. Abolesce raised his head and watched the boy, dispassionately.
"You're late. But so is the other person, so I suppose it doesn't matter all that much.
"You're gonna have to answer some questions. Sit down."

"Have you kitten-proofed your house as best you can? Can you stop by once or twice a week so I can teach her English? Can you keep your door open to the other caretakers? Oh, and...
"Do you want to send her back, for further training?"

Cultural, mostly, came a... voice-like thing from the creature sharing the couch with him. An old-fashioned apprenticeship. They'll learn magic, art... something, at least.
"But if you want her to have the opportunity, you'll have to fill out a form... and there's not much time before Akhetnnami - that's the woman offering the apprenticeship - stops accepting offers all together.
"The big thing you need to know is that your Dumyr will grow up back where she came from, with only occasional visits home... if you can afford it."

The boy weighed the option until the subject of affordability came up. He wrinkled his nose again, "It's not a 'now or never' decision is it? I'll pass til I can find the time and... financial stability to send her...."

Aubri nodded. "If the opportunity of an apprenticeship comes up again, then yes... however, it may not. Keep that in mind." She glanced at Abolesce. "Hm. Can you go get the older sister for me?"Abolesce got up reluctantly, sighing, and trotted off into another part of the house. They could hear the sound of a slight scuffle and a plaintive mew before Abolesce returned, a dark little bundle secured, by the scruff of her neck, in his jaws. He set her down in front of Lucretial.((Ignore the date. xd I'll fix that later.))

Lucretiel gawked at the awkward display before him as his new cat was plopped on his lap by the mouth of some dog. Weird. His furrowed brow lightened as he took notice of his new bundle of joy or as they seemed to be putting it, a bundle of evil.
She was cute, a small ball of black fur and little bleary eyes. Smiling warmly, the sun-kissed boy brushed a few fingers lovingly across abhi's soft cheek before finding out the kitten had little daggers for teeth. He grumbled and pulled away from the kitten as she rolled just as far away from her new owner with a snide mew accompanying her. Lucretiel sighed at the kitten's contemptive nature.
"Oh well this is going to be a fun first few... months..."

Aubri smirked and nodded, then looked thoughtful, furrowed her brow, and pulled open the coffee table drawer. Rummaging through piles of pens and notepads, she eventually pulled out a small notebook, bound in purple and black, and a nice, shiny new pen. She held both out to Lu, closing the drawer back up with one foot.
"Here. To record her progress. In the back is a little address book, too, with the names of all the other caretakers, their phone numbers, and their addresses, in case you need anything or have any questions.
"Oh." She opened the drawer again and pulled out a well-worn legal pad, covered in scribbles and notes in two languages - their common one and a very... desert-y one.
"What are you going to name her?"
