Over a month ago, Ever would have thought that Ares was truly perturbed at her and would have gotten defensive. Now, though, she had a pretty good idea that he was just trying not to laugh. They may not have been together long, but it had been intense and they had learned quite a bit about each other.
"Whether I believe you or not isn't the issue, Ares. The fact remains that you still said 'dunno'. The God of War that has been alive for thousands of years said 'dunno'. Pretty cute."
She chuckled softly.

Ares snorted, straightening back up to glare down at her, though it was now more serious than playful. "Feh. I don't do 'cute.'" Besides, what was so 'cute' about saying 'dunno,' anyways? Ares really didn't get it. It was just a word--it's not like he'd been baby-talking to... anything.

Ever still smiled, but it was never mocking. "Well, just hearing a historic figure that's been around when the English language was elegant and traditional say 'dunno', which is very slang, is funny and cute. It's not a bad thing, Ares. It's not like I'll tell anyone else."

Ares made a face. "Do you seriously think I ever talked 'elegantly,' as you so put it?" he a--no, demanded. "I'm not some flower-speaking prince or whatever like Romeo."

Ever arched an eyebrow at Ares. "Elegant does not mean frilly or girlie. You know that. Elegant means intelligent and full of culture. So yes, I think you did speak that way. I'm assuming you'd try and blend in during that time."
She looked over at Zeus and then Hades. Maybe she should go over and talk with one of them.

He stuck out his tongue. "I hated that period. It was so boring. Everyone had sticks up their asses--even the people who didn't." That made sense. Really, it did.

Ever rolled her eyes slightly. "Now you're sticking your tongue out? Not sure being around these high school students is good for you, Ares."

Ares huffed. "Maybe it's the other way around and you're the one spending too much time around your prissy friends." Well, he didn't actually think of any of her friends as girly freaks, but there certainly was a fair number at that school of hers.

Ever shook her head and scoffed softly. "Actually Ares, the only one I've really spent time with is Aurora, and that was to read up about the Relic. My best friend is in the hospital and no one was in the hospital wing that could help me find her room and everyone else is so scared about what's going on right now. So, I haven't been talking with many people lately. But if you think I've changed so much and am becoming 'prissy', then I will leave you alone."
She didn't speak harshly or even loudly. Just tiredly. She sighed and turned to start walking back to Zeus and Hades.

He frowned at her. "There you go again... Ruining all the fun." Too bad if she didn't understand what he was talking about. She could figure it out on her own. It wasn't his fault if she didn't get it, and he didn't have to help her figure something so simple out--if she was going to be a fun-sucker, he didn't have to help her become even more of one.

Ever walked over to stand at the stairs that led to Zeus' throne. She stood there for a moment, looking at all the individuals around her. Then, Hades came over, wrapped an arm around her torso, and kissed the column of her neck. He had a piece of Ambrosia in his other hand.

{{I was hoping to explain why Ever allowed Hades to do all that, but maybe there will be an opportunity for that later! biggrin }}
After a little while, Zeus finally held up his hands so that everyone would be quiet. Then, he spoke.
"Evermore, you are very close to obtaining the Relic. Very good. Make sure to ask Aphrodite if you need help with everything. Also, keep her updated on your search so that she can keep us updated. She will most likely be able to leave the school grounds easier than you will."
Without waiting for a response, Zeus waved one of his hands and Ever was gone in a flash of lightning. She would be back at Bai Ching now, having just asked the headmistress to allow Ever entrance again.
Then, Zeus turned to Ares. "As for you, Ares, I expect you to work much harder at finding the Relic at Unwelcome Boulder. I know you want to keep up your guise. However, if you do not research these leads that you have gotten from people who think you are a teacher, then there is no reason to have you be a teacher in the first place. I want to see more action and more results. I need to see you here again within the week."
He waved his hand again, signaling for Ares to leave now.
