“A cure for aging? She is definitely one of those not-so-bright girls; one cannot stop aging! I’m sure somehow you can stop the physical aging process, but never the mental, hm?” He quickly told this to Penn after the girl sat elsewhere and shook his head. “Maybe I’m being too pessimistic over it, but I’ve seen and heard so many people look for the same goal…and there still isn’t a ‘cure’.”
Wait; did Penn mention wanting a ship doctor?
“Oh hell, do you really? Why?”

"Well... partly because... if we do find the man who stole your tree, and he happens to be the same man as the rumors speak of... I can't do that superhealing trick some of my kin can do, and I don't want my dying vision to be your head being used as a soccer ball."
Penn sighed. It sounded silly, but she was wholly serious. Mentally reassuring herself that this demon was no match for whatever the Man with the Golden Claw is, she then added a lighter tidbit to keep her mind off of the stuff that makes her grimace:
"And it's a little embarrassing, but... I have a brimstone allergy. Doesn't sound bad because there's almost none of it here on the surface, but... the side effects... my cat..."

(as Denwale) Denwale listen to the talking around him. After some time he found he was lost to the world and was only paying attention to Lin. Sweet Lin. Beautiful Lin. Smart and strong Lin...wait, when did he start holding Lin? Why was she pressed so close to him? Oh dear god!! WHAT WAS HAPPENING!? Suddenly a much more sober Denwale let the girl go and took a small step away from her. "Oh uh oh um..." He looked around him with wide eyes. "A town meeting." He spoke after a long awkward moment. He looked at Lin and then her father. "Do you think we should have a town meeting? It seems there is far more to this than everyone knows." He blinked a few times, not as sober as he thought but more now than at least before. "I'm sorry..." He whispered towards Lin.
(as Meushi) She had be staring at her empty bowl for quite some time now. She had this odd...well hunch that something was about to happen. Like the way the weather felt when a storm was about to hit but hadn't reached you yet. She blinked one alien eye, then the other and then looked up. "A town meeting? Would that actually do something?"

Petite had managed to condense what information she could derive from her little conversation onto half a piece of paper and, after looking over the last few pages of notes, distracted herself with small drawings in the corners of the pages. Her foot was tapping rapidly, causing her cherished compass and watch to clink together against her leg. Something the slow-Aging woman had said was beginning to bug her. Most everyone she'd talked to was so sure that Aging could not be cured. That it was as natural as the day.
Boy were they wrong. She began to twirl her pocket watch between her fingers. With a heavy sigh, she unrolled her map and began looking it over, pocket watch still in hand. There were only a few marks here and there, as most places she visited weren't charted on this particular map, "Perhaps I should invest in a new one..."

(General reply to Fylk)
Amy took note of the man's request and jotted down something on her pad. She knew what would be the easiest thing for him to have. Chon made a very good spicy chicken soup with rice and fried tortilla strips on top. With the way the day had been going a noodle bowl was out of the question with Mr. Fong still in shock over the news of his best customer.
"I'll bring you back a bowl of Chon's spicy tortilla soup," Amy told the man, "Those coins should be well more than enough to cover the bill. As for the news from the town, we'll we've been experiencing a rash of missing ships and today we just found out the fifth ship this month went missing. My fiance works for the port authority. He's had the unfortunate pleasure of being on bell duty this month when all the ships went missing."

(Reply to Denwale and Meushi first as the Fongs)
Lin could feel herself being let go of by Denwale. The nervous confused reply from him was enough to let her know that he was much more sober than when he came into the diner. The poor man had mentioned asking for a Town Meeting to discuss what was going on in Porta Denia. Lin did not know just how well that that would go with the rest of the town if they went to the Selectman requesting a special Town Meeting.
"There's no need to apologize to me Denwale," Lin replied as she saw that Chon and Amy were trying hard to get things back to normal as possible, "I agree with Meushi would a Town Meeting be a good idea?"
"It would let us confront Hastings about this entire situation. We need answers from them," her father responded sounding a bit bitter.
Lin was very unsure if a Town Meeting would be right. She knew Hastings had to answer a lot of questions about the missing ships but would he be so willing to answer them before the town. As far as her father was concerned the Town Meeting was the only way to get Hastings to come clean about his involvement with the missing ships.
"Someone has to pay and right now that someone is Peter Hastings," Li Fong added a moment later still quite bitter.
(Aylin's response to Lin, Li, Denwale, and Meushi)
A Town Meeting. Were they completely insane? It was that exact type of attention Aylin wanted to avoid. It was exactly the opposite of what the military wanted her to do. Hell, that plan went out the window the moment the drunk from the Red Lion made the disappearance of the Red Barron pubic knowledge to the dinner. Her superiors were going to have her head for messing up her assignment. Aylin was pretty certain they would send the one person she couldn't stand to have yell at her for screwing up, her brother Colin.
"Are you four insane?! Do you know what a Town Meeting would accomplish?! Nothing," Aylin responded rather loudly, "Hastings will just deny anything anyone asks him if he's brought before a Town Meeting now. We have no evidence against him at all. Confront him now and he's likely to do everything he can to silence this entire town. He'll become no better than Fattorino. Is that what you want?"

So it was decided: Penn and Sinsario would head back to the Cove and get some information... before that, though, he'd need to take Sinsario shopping to get some new clothes. She searched inside her apron and took out a small leather bag tied by a red silk thread. She took out from the bag a few Gaian bills and a single piece of Alexandrite. At the moment, it had a nice green color to it with a few red blotches.
"Hopefully this is good enough payment..." Penn mumbled to herself, and asked the waitress, showing her the goods in her hand, if this was enough for payment. "The jewel's a tip; thank you for putting up with me, haha."
And then she noticed the pixie confronting the drunken man she also hadn't noticed before about a town meeting, something about denials and silencing the entire town. It was all rubbish to her ears. "Oy vey... Sinsario, you want to leave now before this gets a little... ugly?"

Sinsario followed suit and stood up “Brimstone…really?”
The winged one was now yelling loudly against a town meeting. She’s got a point though; it could always get everyone in trouble. “Yeah, let’s just go before she pops a vein.” And the drunken man might just push her to her limits. “Or rips her own wings off.”

Anger was an emotion difficult to miss, so it was hardly surprising that Petite pulled herself from her thoughts and map in order to look towards the squabbling group consisting primarily of patrons of the tavern. She listened in for only a moment and, for one devious moment, thought she could gain something out of this.
She pipped up from the corner, first quietly, then much more audibly, "Excuse me, Sirs and Ma'ams!" She announced, finally standing and approaching the group, "I think I can help you, but I'll need some information...and possibly a new map." She smiled a large and toothy grin. Theo always said to be helpful and sweet.

"Yes, brimstone. As ironic as a fisherman's son being allergic to fish, but let's blow this popsicle stand before they blow up." Rather hastily, Penn scurried over to the waitress and stuffed her money and the Alexandrite into her hand (she muttered "Sorry" over and over while doing this), grabbed Sin by the waist, and ran out to her ship carrying his undead friend like a... um... a poor person caught in a demon's grip.
It was all very comical in appearance, but she really didn't want to get involved with this fight.

At first he really didn’t like being carried like this; by the waist no less, but it quickly became quite enjoyable. First of all, Penn in a hurry and freaking out a bit is hilarious; secondly, he really has to put no effort into moving.
All In all, this is a win/win situation and he’s not going to complain.

As Penn reached the tip of the restaurant ship, she placed Sinsario down and jumped right off the ship! A few seconds and some motor sounds later, the Charon rises up into view, its wing flaps set low. The one near the ship's deck raises.
"We're heading to that mall so we can get some clothes for you before the day ends; I don't think this port's store closes late," Penn says, still fiddling with the coordinates on her holographic steering wheel. After some beeping, some dragging, and some poking, the captain showed a face of satisfaction.

(As Denwale)
Sober, but not THAT sober, Denwale frown at the pixie. "And just tell us what you want us to do? People we care about are disappearing. You come here telling us that the person in charge of it all is the one who has been helping us out as well? Whether any of us like him or not that's like saying, sorry but the sun is actually the moon and it's made of ice!" He wasn't yelling but his tone had become harsh. "I'm too drunk to piece things together right now but by the wind god of Gaia, we're going to have a town meeting. If not to discuss about Hastings then at least to talk about what needs to be done to protect the people we love and care for!" He eyed the pixie. "We need some answers." he looked at the people around him. "My friends, I think we need to have a meeting. We need to talk and come to some type of understanding...but let us make a vow right here and now." He raised a brow as he spoke and then raised his hand. "No one is to talk about what they heard from the pixie. We don't need more chaos but we need answers. By the Mother Tree I ask you this to promise me, with your very souls not to speak a word until it has been proven other wise." If he had been any more sober he would not have just spoken an old vow. Some believed that by breaking a promise asked on the mother tree it would send the island crashing to the grounds below. Some didn't believe in it at all, but it was if someone used the old saying, they were being very serious.

“Rriight…I’d ask if you parked it where the sun don’t shine, but I don’t know what that would get me.” That was probably the worst joke ever, so he quickly got on the ship and hoped she wouldn’t ask about it.
“Where is this mall anyway; and is it one of those silly girlie malls?” Because that would be terrible.

Aylin let out a huge sigh and began to rub the bridge of her nose. They just did not seem to understand the severity of the situation. If they told the independent cargo ship owners to not take any jobs handed to them by Hastings that would alert the man that the town knew something was not right. If they called Hastings to the meeting he would deny everything and make himself out to be the innocent victim in all of this. No matter what they decided nothing good would come of it.
The military did not believe Hastings was behind the disappearances they just knew he was connected to it. All they knew was that ships he contracted out went missing. It was Aylin's job to travel to Porta Denia and find out just how connected Hastings was. The job she was given was going south faster than she could count. Aylin was not making a good impression on the people she met that day. Right now it looked as though Shirley Andrews was the only friend on Denia she had.
"Look, we don't know if Hastings is the cause of this or not. All my superiors know is that he's too far connected to what's going on to just ignore. It's far easier to get the answers we need if it's not known there's a military investigation going on," Aylin explained, "I don't know how much this town has changed in the last forty-eight years but I know this town and I know its people. But go ahead. Go ahead and have your meeting. What do I know anymore? I've only been alive for one hundred and eight years."
