It's not easier...D8
Chess pieces have names and rules, which makes it easier to catch someone if they try and cheat. >_>

What about the pawns, then? And there's two of every piece in chess. In any case, why would you stop playing in the middle of the game? rofl

Pawns can move two spaces on their first turn, but only one on every turn afterward. They can only go forward, unless an enemy piece is diagonal to them.
Who said anything about stopping?

*facepalm* Quote: which makes it easier to catch someone if they try and cheat. Pawns(on the same team) are all the same. Someone could easily move a piece. T_ T And what I meant by that is it'd be pretty hard to cheat if you were playing the game and watching them the entire time. "Unless" you left for some reason, hence the previous sentence. That was an ordeal. xp

Ahhh. -kicks- Be more specific. D8<
But..why..would someone move a pawn!? They're useless unless you're trying to get a piece ba----
HARRY POTTER CHESS TOURNAMENT.
Everyone rolls the dice right?
All the even numbers become the white team, all the odd numbers become the black. And there's two people who 'control' the pieces. So maybe the Soutaicho and leader of the Arrancar/whatever the hell they're called. And the numbers (high and low) equal to their piece name. (someone who rolled a 2 would be the Queen, etc)
Now, to make things interesting, the teams are mixed; shinigami and arrancar/whatever the hell they're called have to be on the same team with each other.
And uh..everyone is in bankai/resureccion...and..something. So it'd kinda be like:
Yuki looked out onto the field, analyzing the pieces and what should could do. Mochi, who was a Knight, could move in the L shape towards C7..." Blahblahblah. When moved, if there's someone on the space that the piece has to go to, they have to be attacked, the moving piece automatically winning.
To help visualize everything, we could get a board from Google and go into Paint to show where everyone is and stuff.

I love it! What I was thinking along those lines as well but for me, it was the Shinigami team versus the Arrancar team and when to move a piece to a new spot and someone else is there, a mini-battle would ensue, winner takes spot and that should add a bit of spice to it.

Nao-chan: Yea! I was saying the teams should be mixed, just because that would create some sparks and stuff.
"WHAT?! I aint workin' with that Shinigami scum!" "Tch. And you think I'm workin' with you!?" "WOULD SOMEONE JUST MOVE TO B5?!"
xD
Kit: We'll explain it all. Dont you worry. 8D

Okay, I'll admit that the visualization of every player would pose a problem but for the checkers/chess part, a picture of the respective board can be put at the beginning of it all and everybody places their current position at the top of their posts so an idea of the various positions will be formed.
