In the back of a room sat a boy with unusual curved horns, he stared blankly at the front of the room. His eyebrow twitched lightly for a few moments before he gently tapped his right eyebrow. Closing his eyes gently he released a sigh, he found Alchemy so boring.. Especially when he was surrounded by idiots in the classroom, he knew all this stuff.. Why was he here?
He released an aggravated sigh before pulling something from his pocket, a key with his name; Orion. It didn't unlock anything, and he hadn't remembered where he had gotten it; exhaling from his nose he played with it in his fingers, the distant voice of the viper echoing in the back of his head.
"Tsk.." The boy cursed quietly under his breath, his fingers fidgiting. Shoving the thin fingers in his pockets he slumped back in his chair, closing his eyes and doing his best to remain calm.

Nene turned her blank stare to the teacher when her name was called, and she was asked a question. She restrained herself from sighing, such questions were hard - for humans. "Elemental Manipulation is something you can be born with, while Nature Alchemy is a forced thing." She raised one eyebrow quickly before dropping it, showing she was confident that she was correct. The corner of her mouth twitched when she realized something; she could mouth off to this woman. She had already been banished from the Heavens, nothing could compare to that embarrassment. "Any simpleton would know something as basic as that. In fact, I'm surprised I'm even in this class. Can I go do something actually interesting? Alchemy is for the desperate who don't have the physical or mental strength to get by in life." She sighed before cursing her old master. "Hera...I hope Hades feeds you to Cerberus one of these days..." She snickers a bit before returning back to her neutral attitude. Her expression stoic while her posture relaxed. ||OOC: edited||

Eli's eyes alighted on said boy at the back of the classroom. "Ah, Orion! Could you give one more example of the differences between Western alchemy and its Eastern equivalent?" He rather hoped the boy would give the answer he was looking for: Eastern alchemy more often involved circles that had symbols imposed, while (traditional) Western alchemy more often used chemicals, heat, and only a few symbols.

Hearing his name his eyes rose to the teacher, eyebrows slightly narrowed. "....I'd rather not." Orion said quietly with a slight shrug, pulling his hands from his pockets and placing it on the desk he was clearly unhappy to be sitting in the classroom. His dark eyes looked at the teacher, as if his answer was of testing how the other would react.
Orion knew the answer, this class was unecessary to him. Alchemy would never benefit him, or so he assumed. Idiotic Rebel.. It hissed quietly. The boys right eyebrow twitched for a moment.

She heard a small sigh, which sparked her interest only slightly. Looking over to the boy in the back of the room, she smirked. Apparently, she wasn't the only one that was bored half to effing death. "Hera...I hope Hades feeds you to Cerberus one of these days..." Eli just continued to look at the student. "Well, then, it's a good thing this wasn't an optional question, isn't it? You get to tell us anyways, since you seem to be so knowledgeable about all this that it is no longer interesting." Ooooh, that was harsh. He probably should have been nicer... but Orion always acted so disinterested in his class (which was a choice science*), and it irked him. Why choose a class that bored you? Eli much preferred the students who didn't quite understand everything, but actually tried, to the students who understood everything and simply didn't apply themselves.
((*Meaning that you have a few sciences to choose from, and you must choose one, but it can be any of the sciences listed.))

His jaw tightened at the teachers remark, it wasn't that he was bored, he was just... Orion, the boy who didn't show interest in anything! Frowning for a quick moment he got to his feet, pulling a piece of paper from his pocket he walked to the front of the room. "..Give me five minutes." Orion stated, his voice slightly dull, placing the paper on the teachers desk. The folded paper held the answer to the question he had previously asked him, quietly he walked out of the classroom.
Closing the door gently behind him he lightly tapped his eyebrow, his head throbbing. "How bothersome.." Orion muttered angrily, his eyes shut and his eyebrows narrowing. Cursing under his breath he released a loose sigh, trying to refocus on the school work at hand.

яιαɧ мιcɧαεℓs Riah sitting at the front of the classroom, her face cupped in her hands. She was rather enjoying finding out the differences between Elemental Manipulation and Nature Alchemy. She didn't always enjoy having the Headmistress as her teacher, but there was nothing she could do about that. Obviously, she knew all about Elemental Manipulation, seeing as she was born with it. She sighed as Nene answered The Headmistress's question. Although she enjoyed class, she didn't like anwering questions, just in case they were wrong, and she looked stupid.

Unsurprised at the praise, Vio stared hard at the women at the front. So far, only she and a few other teachers held a smigen of Vio's respect. Because of that, Vio accumulated as much data as she could about the Headmistress. If she required any assistance, Vio could carry out any task effiecently and quickly. In boredom, Vio lazily roamed her eyes to Nene. Personally, the female rubbed Vio in a way that spelled danger. Not one to riffle with unwarranted paranoia, Vio kept a safe distance. There were several instances when Vio wished to rake her clawed hands down her face. Blantant disrespect to certain things angered Vio. She herself had been subjected to Nene's dislike once. The day had been sunny with flowers in bloom. Reminded of home, Vio took refuge in the gardens. Nene had appeared sometime in the day and held the most hateful look. It had been brief and she soon left. It had been a while since then but Vio refused to forget it. What I would give to eat her loathful form. She thought grumpily as Nene answered and insulted the Mistress.

The new headmistress nodded at the response. "Good... but I no sarcasm next time. As for Alchemy being the power of the weak," she took a piece of chalk off the board. "Then you wouldn't mind if I drew the 'Signum of Nex' here on the ground and had you stand in it?" she asked, tapping the chalk on the desk. The Signum was a powerful and forbidden alchemy. It drained the life force of the person trapped within it, transforming it into pure power and infusing it into the one who drew the circle. Thus the apt name, Seal of Death.
"If Alchemy was such a... weak form of magics, nothing would happen to you." Her icy glare shot straight through the student. The words, as she spoke them, were in a tone so cold they nearly froze the air around her. She pushed her glasses up with her middle finger. Normally, she was fairly easy to get along with. But irritate her, and she was more than willing to show what the result would be.
"If not, you may sit down and you and Ms. Lolin see me after class," she said, walking behind the desk and drawing a few more things on the board. Three advanced Alchemic symbols intersecting each other. She gave a brief lecture about the dangers and advantages of crossing said circles, which if done incorrectly could, if the caster was lucky, blow off their arm. If they were unlucky... well, there were plenty of craters that had once been the homes of wannabe alchemists.
After the lecture, she sat behind the chair, removing her Tarot cards from her pocket without looking at them and placing them on the desk in front of her. "For your homework, your professor told me to assign you the next three sections in your books and to draw the circle on page 57 freehand. You are dismissed, all but the two I mentioned earlier." She crossed her fingers, making a small tent, not looking down at the 22 powerful magical artifacts that lay beneath her fingers.

✹Πϵɳϵ ϒʊʅϵɣ✹`·.(`·.¸ ¸.·´).·´Nene quirked an eyebrow as the woman directing the class asked her to stand in the Signum of Nex circle. The icy glare of the older woman hardly fazed her. The fallen angel had visited the Underworld and faced Cerberus by herself. She had seen much more freightening things than this woman.
She pondered manipulating the female, but decided that Vio would more than likely interfere in some way. The last time they crossed paths, the flower of a being was surrounded by disgusting vibrant, putrid smelling flowers.
She loathed flowers...they reminded her of Hera.
But, she could probably manipulate the teacher without anyone knowing...but she didn't need to do anything far too drastic for the time being.
Sighing to herself inaudibly, she listened to the teacher give a lecture, barely learning anything knew. When the class was dismissed, Nene remained seated, awaiting for the rest of the students to leave. She didn't worry about the homework, she would be able to finish it within an hour if she really put effort to it. Once everyone had left except for Vio and herself, she stood and approached the front of the room, her face showing little to no emotion, and if it showed anything, it was curiousity. She was only slightly interested in why she had been asked to stay after, which led her to having a spark of intrigue in her piercing eyes.

Eli pursed his lips at Orion's behavior, but did not stop the boy. It probably was necessary to let him have a moment to himself, it seemed, and Eli wasn't one to take that from a person. He read briefly over the paper, and after determining that it was correct, he read it aloud to the class. "This is the correct answer," he clarified. "Now, regarding your homework.... Everyone, please turn to page sixty-three in your books." He continued to speak as if Orion had not left.

Outside the Tower, a squat, grotesque black carriage stole along the land, pulled by a team of pale horses, guided on by an unseen pair of hands, until it was within a mile of the place. The carriage stopped and from within there was a strange series of sounds. A whispering, followed by a deep voice and a noise of rushing, sucking, something collapsing unto itself. Then a set of steps unfolded from the left flank, following which a tall man in robes of black and deepest mauve, climbed down from them, his face obscured by his hood. Silently he spat upon the ground and lowered the hood. His face, whilst not ugly, was unsettling in itself. Pale, angular and elongated in its way. He pulled from his robes a pair of pince nez, with lenses that seemed at once both purple and black. He strode across the ground, taking in the scale of the tower before throwing back his head, the sun catching his pale blonde hair. He had arrived at his destination. He unhitched the pale horses and set about setting up camp. The Confessor had arrived.
