Kari shook her head. There wasn't really anything else that she needed to share with her. She was crazy and unstable, she knew that she was and had a huge thirst for blood and destruction. Emily knew this already and so, there wasn't anything else she could think off to speak to her off.

"Three tailed demon," Kari said as she flipped a page and pointed at a picture of the three tailed beast. A long time ago, the three tailed beast woke up from its sleeping slumber beneath the waters of the lake. When it awoke, it caused mass destruction to the entire village, almost drowning it. The Mizukage ended up sealing the demon inside a young boy, but the boy dissapeared and so has the three tailed beast.

Kari nodded, she felt that her control over her bloodlust was in check for now and figured it would be safe to travel. She grabbed Emily's hand and dragged her through the compound and out of the gates. As they walked outside of the compound, Kari released her hand and looked over at her. "Monsters?" she asked her, regarding to her last comment about having monsters too.

Luo Ushio
Pride Of The Mist

On the winding mountain path to his home, Luo took his time as the mist crept in through the trees, moonlight illuminating their way. He savored this walk home usually since he didn't get to do it every night. Most of the time, he ended up spending his time in his office overnight because there was no point in going home after a long evening of work if he was just going to have to return to the office in two or three hours. So the man kept a sleeping mat rolled up in his closet for days when he only had enough time for a nap.

As they continued on the way to his home, crossing over to different paths that to most would seem as if they had turned back the way they came, Luo wondered just where his brother...or the man he regarded as his brother...had gone exactly. The man from what he gathered from his ANBU men had an urgent matter to attend to, something that for some reason only he could deal with. It was just like Zane to impulsively do something like leave his responsibilities behind, but Luo didn't imagine him being capable of leaving the son he cared so much for. He had gotten word from the Nara clan in Konoha of Zane's son visiting and staying unexpectedly, and his coming to the mist to seek his mother. To be honest, if she were not alive Luo would have easily taken the boy and raised him in the house of the Ushio clan under himself and his father. After all, Luo found himself to be too young to be a father. Though Zane was young too, he was older than Luo. Although it seemed to Luo and everyone who didn't know it that it was the other way around.

Coming up a hill on a small path, the top of the gates of the Ushio compound could be seen. There were two men on each side of the fifteen foot wooden gates that were attached to the surrounding concrete wall. In the middle of the wooden gate was the emblazoned family crest on a steel circular metal piece bolted to the large double doors which was cut in half to allow the door to open. As they neared the door, the two ANBU at the gate took a knee in front of Luo and lowered their heads in respect. Since the lock mechanism was on the inside, they both touched the door sending wind chakra through the spaces between the oak pieces. As they did, the clicking and turning of an intricate lock system was heard, the Ushio clan symbol turning clockwise until unlatching in half. As that was done, the two men stood and pushed the sturdy door open, the beautiful compound was revealed as torches lit the way.

Walking forward towards the lotus pond in front of the house, he strode across the water towards the main door of the house. Although in truth Luo could have performed this action with just chakra, there was a clear walkway under the water that was in fact the roof of an underground walkway to a safe house for the family. Motioning for Kenji to follow, Luo opened one of the front doors and took his shoes off at the door. Hanging from the archway in the foyer of the home, was the original clan tapestry in full splendor, depicting the history and story of the clan's beginnings. The version Luo wore around his hips was also an original, created from silk for each clan head to wear as a representation of their clan, the other members often sporting kimono or jackets with their clan symbol on them.

Walking in, he went directly for the kitchen as he took a left and then an immediate right. Although most of the family was getting ready to sleep, Luo's mother was of course awake and cleaning. As she saw him, she dried her hands after finishing the dishes from dinner and wrapped her arms around him firmly. "I have a surprise for you and the others, mainly Zane's grandfather." Motioning behind him, he revealed Kenji to be behind him. The woman who had seen him once when he was only a baby instantly knew who he was, noticing his extreme likeness to Zane around that age. Hugging him just as firmly as she had Luo, she asked how he was doing and mentioned how much he had grown. Making his way to the restroom while his mother insisted on making tea and heating up some leftovers, Luo changed into a casual silk sleeping garment with a black haori over it as to not get the pants or the shirt dirty. He had also set out some clothes for Kenji in one of the many guest rooms.

Coming back in time for tea, Luo sat at the low and long family bamboo table at the head of it where his seating pillow was. Pouring himself some green tea, Luo held it close to his face for a moment with both hands as he breathed in slowly, and out at last with a long exhale as if relinquishing all the stress he had that day. Sipping it at last as his mother placed food in front of both of them, he muttered, "Thank you mother." Even as the most powerful man both in his clan and in the village, Luo still found respect for his mother and his elders, something his father and grandfather alike instilled in him early on in his years. Picking up the metal chopsticks on the side, Luo ate the sliced beef and rice in a rather delicate manner. In between his next bite he looked at Kenji and posed a question. "So Kenji, if I may ask what did you do with your time in Konoha?"

Kenji walked behind Luo through a winding mountain path. It was very hard for him, never stepping foot in Mist, to see where he was going. He did his best to make sure he memorized the path there. The crisp and cool mountain air was very soothing to him, considering the heat waves that would hit Suna. After a long walk through the winding paths, Kenji came up on a hill to see majestic gates that were the entrance to the Ushio Compound. Entering through the doorway, Kenji watched as Luo activated the lock system and entered it.

He marveled and gasped at the beauty that was the compound. He had never seen anything like it back in Suna and Kenji already felt like home. Looking down at the lotus pond, Kenji realized that he could walk through it, and wondered just what it was that dwelled beneath it. Continuing to follow his Godfather, Kenji removed his shoes and found the clan tapestry. He was just halfway done with reading the Ushio Clan's history when Kenji was suddenly hugged by a woman. This woman was in fact Luo's mother and barraged him with all sorts of questions. Answering each one promptly, Kenji watched his great grandfather entered the room. His great grandfather gasped, as if he was seeing a young Zane and had to hold onto the wall for fear of becoming weak and falling over. Giving his grandfather a big hug, Luo had returned.

"Well...my father sent me there to spent time with the Nara Clan, my mother's family while they searched for the whereabouts of my mother. I was there for this whole year just living in the Nara Clan's home when word of my mother being in Mist reached my guard," Kenji explained as he himself began eating as well. "Wow...this is really good!" he cheered happily as he looked back at Luo. "That's how I got here, and I wish to follow in my father's footsteps. He always wanted me to become a great doctor...but that's not what I want. I want to be shinobi. I want to become strong enough to protect those I care for, since I wasn't able to do anything for my father OR my mother..." he stated simply.

Listening to Kenji's explanation of his stay in Konoha, Luo nodded a bit as he sipped his tea. As the boy got to wishing to become a shinobi, it went silent in the room as Luo ate. His parents simply washed dishes together in silence, not wanting to weigh in on any decision their son would make on the matter. After all, Luo was the boy's godfather and the decision fell upon him whether to accept or deny the request. However in earnest, the decision had already been made without Luo having to weigh in. As he finished his last slice of fish and the rice ball that came with it, Luo put his chopsticks down on the side of the place, drinking more tea to wash it down.

"Your father although lazy at times, wished earnestly that you had the best he could give you without spoiling you. He also had a strange way of going about what he really meant to say. In saying this, I know he left me one last riddle before his departure in saying he wished for you to become a doctor. Zane knew the pull to become a shinobi would be too great for you to refuse, considering the hundreds of shinobi you saw pouring in and out of his office and he himself being one. He did try to sway you from the profession, but there's a certain look in a child's eyes that isn't difficult for one of us to see. And when he saw it in you, he urged you to become a doctor. However, you misinterpreted what he meant by that saying."

Taking a moment to finish his tea, Luo handed the dishes to his mother as she walked over, nodding a swift thanks in her direction. "Your father of all things wished for you to become a medical shinobi. To heal more than kill. I agree it was a rather backwards way of saying it, however he hoped that perhaps you would reconsider in time your choice on the matter. In both of our years, we've seen more blood then we'd like to think or talk about, and usually we don't. Zane did not want you to grow with the mind of a senseless killer, as unfortunately he'd seen the sands of Suna do to many of its people. He wanted you to grow to learn what it means to be on both sides of the battle; to heal and to maim. In doing this, he wished for you to grow a moral compass stronger than his own. In short, he wished for you not to make the same mistakes he did in his career however big or small."

Standing up from the table, the man walked over to the sink to wash and dry his hands. Bowing to his parents, he began to leave the room saying in passing, "You will become a shinobi, but you will not receive any special treatment as your father would want. You will walk, talk, and learn with the other children at the same pace. Your room is down the hallway to the left, the last door on the left. There are clothes there for you to sleep in and wear daily. I suggest getting a good nights rest, your training starts tomorrow." Exiting the room, Luo departed for his own room in the exact direction of the boy's except on the right. The left side of the compound had been his since he was announced as the future clan head as a chuunin, and it had housed too many friends and shinobi in his time having it. Sliding his door open and closing it behind him, Luo blew out the lanterns on either side of his bed before crawling in. He stared at the open view of the smaller pond near his training field outside of his room and fell asleep rather swiftly, wondering just how well the boy would fare.

Kenji silently listened to Luo's words carefully as he finished his meal. Upon dismissing him, he entered his room and found the clothes waiting for him. Changing quickly and placing his suitcase against the wall, Kenji lied down on his bed and began to dwell on the happenings of today and Luo's words. So his father wanted him to become a shinobi, but he wanted Kenji to follow his own path. He sure had a weird way of doing things. "I don't want any special treatment...I'll become shinobi relying on my own strength. I won't walk down my father's nor my mother's path, I will walk my own," he said to himself as he punched the air in above him as he lied there. Placing his arm down next to him, Luo's words continued ringing through his mind until the sweet embrace of sleep finally took a hold of him. His eyes shut slowly as he drifted off into a deep sleep. He needed his rest, because tomorrow was when he would enter the Ninja Academy.

As rays of sunlight beamed into Luo's room, he awoke early as usual. Eating a quick and light breakfast, he went out back towards the garden to meditate with his grandfather and speak with him. Afterward, he got an hours worth of training in before a shower and waiting on Kenji. Sitting in the livingroom and peering at the television in a bored fashion, he wondered just what the children were up to today. Furthermore, he wondered what mood Tares was in that morning, knowing that it quite often affected the flow of training. Peeling the skin of a tangerine, Luo watched the news in silence, his likeness appearing on the screen.

Kenji woke up rather late due to exhaustion from his travels. By the time he was actually up, Luo had been awake for quite a while. Entering the living room, Kenji already had breakfast waiting for him. "Hello Godfather!" Kenji exclaimed cheerfully, not even acknowledging that he had slept in. Eating his food delightfully, Kenji watched the news as he listened to what was happening all throughout Kirigakure.

As Kenji exclaimed a hello to Luo and sat to eat, Luo remained silent for a moment. Standing up he muttered, "You're late for class." Shutting off the television, Luo motioned for Kenji to follow; it seemed the boy would have to finish his food on the go. Walking out to the front door, Luo put his shoes on and waited for his godson to follow suit. As he arrived, Luo walked towards the gates and out of the compound to lead Kenji to the academy. He could only imagine what sort of mayhem was occurring there today.

EXIT.

"I'M LATE!?" Kenji exclaimed as he placed his food down and grabbed his shoes. Finishing preparing himself after grabbing his stuff, Kenji grabbed a hold of his food and followed Luo out of the gates. His first day and he was already late, not to mention that he had to eat his food on the go, which he hated doing. Following behind Luo, Kenji shoved his food down his throat.

Exit

Reaching the compound Fordon was greeted by shouts from within that soon produce Mai’s slender athletic form in the doorway. Pausing where he was Fordon had no idea what was to be done. For a moment no one moved and there was a silent tension present in the air. Mai moved first. With quick broad paces she made her way to him with a look of feline fury that only a woman could muster and could make every man cringe in fear and left no doubt that she was out for blood and that soon pain would be inflicted. The first slap was as fast as a flash and made Fordon wonder if he had been hit by lightning. After it passed he felt his face sting and warm as blood rushed back to the now tender flesh of his cheek. She began “WHERE…” the second blow caught him further to the side of his head and partly landed on the ear causing it to ring in a painful manure. Her next word still continued her short sentence yet dragged out his punishment “HAVE…” the next slap felt akin to a hammer blow as it cuffed his jaw. He could predict with perfect clarity he next word yet had no power within him to react “YOU…” the flowing strike would have made a taijutsu specialists proud as it crossed his face with the brutality of a rock grinding bones. The last word could not have been more obvious then if it was written on his own flesh “BEEN?!?!” the sequential strike did not come in the form of another slap as Fordon suspected but rather as a knee to the ribs. The pain that lanced up his already worn-out and exhausted body caused him to double over in agony.
Once Fordon had comeback to comprehending things on a conscious level he realized that she had stopped attempting to wound him with a savage beating. Instead she was clinging to him as she was sobbing into the side of his neck. Finally able to move now that the abuse had ended Fordon wrapped his arms around her letting her weep away the pain, misery and stress of him being gone for so long. Holding her close once again felt so good and so right. Her sweet smell filled his lungs as he savored the small details of her such as the hair that tickled his face, or her moist tears running down his next, or her body shuddering uncontrollably as she wept or her hot breath bathing his skin during her irregular sobs. It was both a happy and sad moment.
After a while he even managed to say “Its ok my love. I’m back.” She held in him tightly as if something might attempt to rip him away at any moment. “Don’t worry im not leaving anytime soon” he ran his hand from her face to partway through her hair. As his hand stopped at the back of her head and she gazed up into his face. The stitches that pulled at either side of his mouth held no horror or ugliness. She could only see his how handsome he was and feel her heart melt in the flames of tender affection and love. With her arms still hanging around his neck she felt passion fill her up like a balloon and suddenly she was feeling too many things for her brain to understand what she should do. She was so happy to see him again and so worried about him and she had missed him so much and she just wanted to kiss- as she realized the thought in her mind she also realized it was a reality. It was a sweet and gentle kiss but all to soon for her it ended as he pulled away to speak “Though I must clean up and see your cousin.” She pouted only for a moment then drove herself onto him as she purged her passion against his lips with such force she knocked his weakened body to the ground. Her ferocity shocked Fordon but after a fraction of a second he relented and kissed back. When they finally stopped he looked up into her eyes and said, “I missed you too.” She giggled then let him up.
He was allowed to enter the house and head to his room. It had remained untouched in the time he had been away. With a deep breath Fordon went about his cleaning up. Getting shaved, showered and cleaned up didn’t take him long but was a processes that had been left in disuse for well over two months. He had to admit it, while it felt foreign to his body, felt amazing. Fordon was forced to leave his hair shaggy and untrimmed with no proper way to cut it. Putting on his dark grey hakama and matching montsuki. Looking himself over in the mirror he adjusted his mesh armor so that it was hidden and undetectable under his clothes. As he did he saw hanging around his neck the ushio talisman that was from Mai. It hung around his neck as a way to show she claimed him and that he was hers alone. But there was more to it then that. It was a symbol of what she felt for him. A sign of what she wanted for them. Just seeing it gave him a small smile and reminded him that he was home. The place where all of his hearts dwelled happily. He left his eight short swords on his bed and only tucked his longer sword into his belt. He had a few other ninja tools stored over his body as he dressed. If someone could see the about of ninja tools he had on him they might think he was some sort of one man armory preparing for war but no this was simply how he had learned to do things in his year away from the village. With one assassin blade on his left hand and the other stored inside his shirt he slipped his feet into a pair of geta and walked out of his room.
He carried his hunter ninja mask in hand while he headed for the front door. Mai was waiting there for him there. She looked up with eyes of worry stroking her brown hair out of the way her face he gave her another tender kiss “I should be back before too long.” She looked down and touched the necklace around his neck. “I’ll be waiting and working on some food for you” then looked up as she tried to smile. He could see how much she hated to see him walk away so soon after just getting back. He could tell how much it hurt not having him there. The pain was shared by him as well and just looking at her face he could feel the knife in his ribs turning. “I’m sorry beautiful but I’ll be back soon” with one last kiss on the cheek he walked out the door and shut it calmly behind him. In his mind he thought I’ll make it up to you Mai. I Promise.- with that he set off for the Mizukage Tower to see his lord.
