Now that she's gotten the start of the cord through, it's just a matter of tugging the shorter end through the other hole.... Well, shoot. She'd forgotten to thread that end before pushing it up and through the roof. With a sigh and a quick check on the Pae'il, she gets back down on all fours and crawls around Rath and Casala to the doorflaps, tugging them open so she can climb up onto the roof again to fix the problem.

Just a quick tug and a well aimed shove, and she's done. Well, done with the part that involves being on the roof, anyway. She starts back down, hurrying as it's starting to get dark. She doesn't want to perform her dance for Eilistraee on this side of the isle, not while she may need her weapons at any given time.

Casala's trying to focus to be rid of her hiccups goes south, far.. far south... as Rath sets to growling whenever she hiccups. She finds his reaction amusingly cute, and can't help the giggles that burble up out of her. Her hiccups flourish, and leave Rath growling near constantly as she plops onto her rump and holds her sides as her body is wracked with throes of mirth.

Rath didn't have long to stare, as Eirnae was already on her way down when he got within sight of her rear end. Though it's likely that his being mesmorized was only strengthened by the sight of her muscles working underneath the leather of her outfit as she climbed down. Once she reaches the ground again the elf turns to shoot Rath a discerning look. Presuming that Rath wants her to go back inside, she follows after him to do just that.

Ah, so that's the trouble. "Cass. Cass, look up at me," she gently instructs while cupping the back of Casala's head with a palm. "Remember, take a deep breath, then hold it. Count to twenty, then let it go slowly. Try it, dear."

Fighting her giggles and her hiccups, Casala tries to comply with Eirnae's advice, letting her neck relax to settle her head all the more against her mother's open hand. A deep breath in... hold it. Hoooooold iiiiit... She lets her breath out in a whoosh. Realizing that she did it too quickly she starts over again.

"Rath," Eirnae says as Casala releases a much slower gust of air than last time, "Growling isn't going to help. Hiccups can't be intimidated." She smles down at Casala, not giving in to the chuckle risng in her chest in order to help Casala move this process along. To get her Pae daughter laughing again isn't the best of ideas. "There you go, Cass. Nicely done," she encourages as yet another breath is held and then slowly let go.

Could it be that the hiccups are gone now? Casala doesn't feel that bubbly tickling in her lungs now, so maybe they are? She waits for the all too familiar instinct to Hic! to return, still breathing in and out, nice and slow. So far, so good!

The angelic Pae sits up and pops to her feet to stretch out her arms and wings with deepfelt gratitude before hugging Eirnae around her neck. "Thank you, mother. I forgot all about that technique."

"Sometimes it works, sometimes it dosn't," the shadowdancer admits with a smile, returning Casala's hug, "I'm just glad it did this time. Now..." Eirnae turns to look up at the dangling braided leather cord. "Let's address this, and then it'll be past time for us to get you home, Cass."

"It's gotten that late?" Casala asks, walking over to peek out between Rath's doorflaps. Wow... That late already? But it felt like they'd just come inside!

"Aye, that it has. Now, Rath," Eirnae starts while kneeling to be next to the Pae in question, "See that dangly thing over there?" She points to the cord she's next to, then reaching up the short distance required and grasping it firmly. "I want you to tug on this, but not too hard. You don't want to hurt your roof more, right?"

The sound of leather on leather announces the movement of the leather disc that Eirnae prepared to cover up the chimney hole, but it only moves once since Rath tugged the cord in one direction. "See?" Eirnae points up to where the hole has reappeared in the ceiling. "Now the smoke from your fire can escape out that, so you won't breathe it, and we can visit you more often. Now, try tugging it in this direction." She places a hand over his on the cord and pulls in the angle she means.

The disc makes that same noise as it slides back into place to cover up the hole. "Only one tug to move it, in either direction. You try, Rath," she suggests helpfully, leaning back to sit down and watch Rath closely.

Casala isn't paying attention to what's going on around the fireplace, as she's currently lost in the beauty of the lowering sun in the sky. She sighs softly, watching the clouds turn into rose and violet puffs.

This is a classic parenting moment, and one that Eirnae is already familiar with. The gifting of an object that one normally would regard as everyday, or as in this case, decomposing, from a child with a beaming smile and hopeful eyes. Ignoring the slight smell of the squirrel, she graciously accepts the gift. "Thank you, Rath. I'll be sure to find a use for it," she promises, and meaning every word. Hey, even if the meat is no longer good, she'll skin the thing and whip up something with the fur. Maybe even use some of the bones to boot. Why not?

Casala nods to a question that Jusron asks of her, replying in kind in a soft voice, "No, I'm sure it won't wear down the roof. Mother has a way of doing these things that make them last. If there are any problems, though, we'll be by in the future to deal with them."

It's time. Time for them to leave. Eirnae finds herself hating to do so, mostly because Rath will be left by himself. The poor boy must get lonely out here on his own. "We'll have to visit again sometime soon," she thinks out loud, getting to her knees while wrapping up Rath's gift before stuffing it in a belt pouch. She'll deal with the deceased rodent later.

Casala nods once more before leaving the entrance of the dwelling, coming back over to spring a hug around Rath. "Take care," she says cheerfully, "I know Jusron will watch over you."

Almost as if an afterthought, Eirnae digs a thick wool blanket out from yet another belt pouch and leaves it neatly folded atop the furs that Rath and Casala had lain on earlier.

Motioning for Casala to follow her, she leaves the domicile, and Casala follows after, waving a final goodbye to Rath before slipping outside to start the first steps of her and Eirnae's journey home to the temple.

Rath and Kae

Kaelin laughs watching Rath as he bounces around. Shaking her head she looks down at her sons. Mel was watching Rath slightly confused as to what he was doing. Dil hid mostly behind his mother.

Ruffling both the boys hair she lets there hands go "Go on sweetoes you can go lay down it you want. Just don't venture far alright?" when Mel glances up at her then takes off running into the hole of the mouth she smiles. She could see it already Mel would be the one who will be the troublemaker.

Dil on the other hand stayed right near her, he didn't really want to move away from his mother. Glaning up at her he out before she leans down kissing his cheek "Its alright sweetie. I'll come check on you I promise." when he nods then follows after Mel she shakes her head before glancing back towards Rath to watch him.

Slipping through the mouth Kaelin glances around smiling towards the fire. She knew her sons would be warm, now all she had to do is keep them from falling into it.

Seeing that her sons already curl up next to eachother with there eyes close she smirks seeing the plushie. That was something she wasn't expecting. Moving to seat down on the fur she smiles looking toward Rath "This place is nice, thank you for letting me stay here. This means alot to me."
