Aruna chuckled again as Blossom spoke to her. “I can’t spend all day in bed, now can I? As much as I’d like to sometimes.” She listened as the girl continued. She stared out the window for a few brief moments when snow was mentioned. Just looking at the stuff made her body tense up.
Her attention fell back onto Blossom. “I wouldn’t be too sure of that,” she responded with a smirk. “Weather like this brings people seeking warmth. Though our fireplace is always lit, hot chocolate and coffee helps heat up cold bodies and minds too. Will you be able to handle more customers or should I help too?” Aruna asked in a bit of a teasing tone. She still hadn’t forgotten the small hostess’ abandonment during the autumn event.

Given that it was lunch break, Vika had to stand around a little while before Rhys could show up. But that was okay, because the newspaper helped pass the time (though she might have snuck in a building or two just to get out of the cold).
Fast-forwarding a few hours, Rhys came out of the hospital so Vika could see him. At least her evening onward was set!
"Vika?" Rhys asked, as she looked up from her paper. "Good timing. Could we talk about the--" he paused to look around for a second, and upon seeing nobody in immediate earshot, continued, "wager? Are you sure about it, because it just doesn't... feel right." There, I said it.

Edward stood up stiff and sneezed again. He shivered and tried to find an inn or somewhere to stay in but he didn't want to be rude. Most of the stores were closed due to the New Year and Edward's fingers started numbing. "So... cold...." Edward coughed and sneezed. He looked ahead and saw a building with some lights on inside and it seemed like it was a public building. He staggered towards it and collapsed about a good 15 feet away from it. "Tired..... want.... to sleep...." He looked up and his vision started to blur and he closed his eyes.

...Soren and his cryptic words. If the cold wasn't prodding at his ears, Rei might have been more willing to try and figure out just what he was talking about. But, if he was taught something by someone, then maybe Rei could get in on whatever that was. Wouldn't hurt to be able to skip past the life-consuming studying, if possible...
So, when Soren gave the option to go off to a less frigid locale, of his choosing, no less, Rei was inwardly thrilled. "Well, I do have one place. You've probably been there before, but I bet it's more or less empty right about now..." Rei began to determine just how empty the locale in mind would be. The typical faces were probably out shopping, making out, or being otherwise predictable. Heck, if he were studying, the place could very likely be abandoned at one point or another.
"What are you waiting for?" Rei said, gesturing for the Sage to follow. "It's too cold to be standing around out here." Rei tried to at least get a slight chuckle out of Soren. Sure, it would be normally impossible, likely impossible with that Soren-stand-in, and probably even less possible now. Wouldn't hurt to try, though.
But, whether the Sage smiled or laughed, or just remained silent, Rei began to calmly walk off, making sure that Soren wouldn't be lost in the flow of the crowd. The Host Club Manor wouldn't be too far a walk, hopefully...

Soren merely nodded in agreement. Yes, it was cold. He saw no reason to stand outside any longer than necessary, so he turned to follow Rei, and he trailed after the Druid at a respectable distance.
He vaguely remembered that he had initially left Learania on a winter's night. As of now it was still early and it was a lot more active than the night he'd left. Even so, these were all the faces of strangers to which he assigned no value, at least not at that moment. He observed which persons wore what and how they walked and what they said. Things had changed a bit during his absence, although he'd observed them in seeing pools so he was not particularly surprised. Not that he would have been surprised in the first place.
Soren was having difficulty in discerning what was missing from his memory. He decided to contemplate on where Rei was going, although he had an inkling of an idea, especially when he took a look at their surroundings. The path appeared somewhat familiar. Soren plucked at some details in his mind, both attempting to ascertain the anomaly in his memories and attempting to figure out where their destination was before. He probably wouldn't get that lucky.

Clara sighed and smiled. She had just finished her wonderful meal. Well, it seemed wonderful to her.
"That was good." She said. She stood up and put her sword back on her left hip. "Now to go get a few things before heading back to the Duke's head and see what odd jobs I have today." She grabbed some money and thought about it. She saw the prices on the menu. She made sure she added it up right. She left the amount needed plus some extra as a tip. She then headed for the door.
"That was a fine little breakfast." She said, "I left some money on the table. It should be more than enough to cover the meal." And with that she headed out the door.

"Ah-ah~..." Lance sighed loudly to himself, as he staggered along the various alleys and merchant booths with a weary step. His eye sight was getting woozy, his head kept banging away, his feet felt wobbly..."--CHOO!"
His sigh turned into a loud sneeze, as his mind blacked out for a mere moment. A long string of snot catapulted out from his nose and landed some way away from him, completely visible in the snow where it landed. He imagined some people would feel disgusted at him, but at the moment, getting shunned was the least of his worries. It was weird. He had spent some time of his life living in Ilia, but even that felt like spring time compared to this temperature. Then again, he had been stuck in the complete opposite of environment for quite some time, so maybe he just imagined it differently.
Amidst the sub-zero temperature, Lance had managed to contract some sort of illness, and now the cold air stung his arms like several needles trying to pinch his skin. His clothes, despite being thicker than his usual attire to serve the purpose of keeping warm, didn't help him one bit.
He could feel the mucus running down his nose, and he snorted loudly to get it back up, but it made his head hurt even more. "I probadlay hade a fevar too..." he said softly to himself, as he tried clearing his throat from phlegm. It felt parched, almost worse than when he was out in the desert.
Now, if he was feeling sick, then it would be logical to assume that he'd stay inside, curled up in blankets near a fire, with some soothing tea to drink. Yet here he was, outside, in the cold, his teeth clattering. To most people, that'd seem idiotic. To tell the truth, he felt it was idiotic as well. But he couldn't help it.
Lance easily got restless...staying prone for too long would make his whole body tingle, and make him go even more insane than before. Not only that, but Lance would hardly be able to take care of himself anyway, he'dd just screw up everything. If he had someone looking after him, it wouldn't be too much of a deal, but...he didnb't have anyone. Finn went back with Leafy to...wherever the heck they said they came from, his mind couldn't seperate that information from his memory, leaving Lance alone in that house, cottage, shack, whatever. He couldn't stand the loneliness at that place. It was as if the open space was mocking him for his inability to secure close ties with people. Anyone he met would already have someone closer to them than Lance, leaving him as the third wheel if anything. Aidan had Blossom, Blossom had Aidan, although that took a while for Lance to puzzle together in his state, Ganon had that snake-lady...even Annis, who Lance felt he had a special bond to, ended up getting to know that other bird brain better...as far as Lance knew, there was still nothing going on between them, but he could tell already when he had lost completely.
Being completely alone had left him depressed, of course, but he had decided to deal with it. He was a thief, after all, and unless forced to, thieves works alone. But now, as he was getting worse and worse, and not just by the illness he had contracted, being seperated from everyone else took its toll on his mind.
Lance stopped and just squat down as he buried his face in his crossed arms. "Ah, nevermind..." he mumbled to himself as he rocked back and forth in middle of all the people, "I don't care anymore...if this is how Tymora keeps treating me, I might as well just give up, what's the point of fighting the inevitable..."
He kept on rocking back and forth, as he mumbled complaints and curses at nothing in particular, giving off the vibe that he was in a seriously bad mood.

Its not my fault your such a moron
Derrin Hasstorn Just leave me alone ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Of course Lance wasn't the only one in a bad mood that day, a certain red-haired mage was grumbling to himself, unpleased with his current situation he was and going for a walk rather then calm him down only served to make him angrier, he should have gone to the library.... since he'd been in Eyris he'd hungrily devoured books like no tomorrow... in the pursuit of knowledge and in an attempt to find some sort of a cure for his.... condition.
Of course he wasn't watching where he was going (He was to busy being angry) and who would expect that someone would be squatting in the middle of a busy street, "Urah!" he cried out as he tripped over the squatter and flew much undignified like into the street. Landing face first in a pile of snow he lay a moment in an attempt to cool down.
It didn't work and he wheeled around prepared to verbally lash the man with his tongue when he noticed the man was well dressed..... And muttering to himself.... he was reminded of that slingshoteer from halloween for a moment, Lance almost got a book to the face before Derrin realized it wasn’t his enemy.
This guy was obviously having troubles worse then Derrins..... With a herculean effort the mage forced down the string of curses ha had prepared.
"You're not going to be around much longer anyway.... it couldn't hurt to help one person out.... could it?" He thought,
He squatted down and glared into Lance’s eyes... well it wasn't meant to be a glare.... Derrin was just physically unable to do many other facial expressions.
He waited until the man took notice of him and quit his inane muttering before Derrin spoke, "Get up. You'll trip someone else."-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Feh, How annoying. Magic is my life, my soul, my heart

Clara had left the Hostess club very satisfied. She went and see if there was anything she could buy while she was in the marketplace. She saw some sword powder at a merchant's place. That would help her keep her sword in good shape. Granted the sword she had on her wasn't the same one she had a few months ago. No she broke that one while training, so the one she had was new.
After buying the sword powder, Clara went to get a few other things like paper, a bigger coin pouch, and a few other things. She made her way back to the Duke's head to ask if anyone wanted her for something.

...Injured with pain and sadness, the you that cannot be healed Shoulder the burden of the past that cannot be erased; don't throw away your will to live...[ X ][ O ]Blossom[ O ][ X ] →Blossom giggled and shook her head. She folded her arms comfortably behind her back, sitting down on the edge of the stage. The girl had left, leaving behind her payment--which she promptly stood up, scurried over to fetch, and then returned to the stage, sitting back down with the money now in her pocket--and the others were all comfortably sitting in various areas across the Cafe. Business was slow at the moment, but it just meant that Blossom got a few minutes to spend time with Aruna and Ganon, which she wasn't going to turn down.
"That is true," Blossom commented. She adjusted her headband over her light brown hair, trying to arrange her bangs so that they stopped spitting stray hairs across her eyelashes.
The Hero seemed to miss Aruna's playful prodding; she only looked up at her with an innocently cheerful look on her face. "There aren't any new customers quite yet, so I should be fine for now. If you want to help, that's nice, but I can handle what we've got for the time being, I think."
Blossom brushed her fingers across her skirt, smoothing out the lace bits. It was a really nice outfit, she decided, but with Aruna having multiple uniforms to come down in, the brunette had to wonder if it would be a good idea to find at least one other set of clothes to wear to the Cafe. Not like dressing cute in a different way was a bad thing, right?
She sighed and rested her hands in her lap, letting herself relax on the edge of the stage for the moment.← You'd better forget everything. Vika was a master of time and space so it didn't really matter how long it took Rhys to reach her. She was that good.
She approached Rhys, and she could tell from his tone that he was on the same wavelength as she was. "You too, huh? I was kinda thinking, and..." She grasped his arm and moved over. "Let's go somewhere else and discuss this."
Somewhere else happened to be a nearby alley. Not that it mattered. "Right. While that wager's funny for whoever wins, it's not fair and it's kind of dumb, too. So...yeah. I totally wouldn't be offended if you wanted to call it off. But...we want to raise a lot of money for the town, too." Vika had her own a** to cover. "So why don't we informally call it off, but let our employees think it's still on?"

Rhys breathed a sigh of relief. Good, she agrees, so we can put that part to rest... But it seemed she still wanted things to continue.
"Let our employees think it's still on so we can still raise the money for the town, huh..."
Time and space temporarily froze so Rhys could have a monologue. (Someone had knocked over that hay bale wall elsewhere in town at that moment. Jin had insisted to Rhys that no matter how bizarre it looked, it should NEVER be knocked over, as crazy things happened when people knocked over the hay bales. But it happened anyway.)
"What do I think? On the one hand, to let the rest of the Host Club think the wager's still on when I know it's not would be lying to them. I've never liked lies in any form. Plus, as the day the wager ends draws near, I'd rather they didn't feel nervous or uncomfortable."
He paused. (The hay bales were yet to be restacked.)
"On the other hand... who am I to deny a good cause when I see one? The avoidance of punishment is a powerful motivator. If I tell them the wager is off, would there be any point to doing this competition? I know they have other things to do as well, but I'd like for this club to do something for Eyris besides look pretty and incite romance..."
(At this point, the hay bales were restacked, and the mysterious "fourth wall" restored.)
"What do I think...? Sure. It sounds like a plan," Rhys said, nodding in agreement. "I'd feel better about it, and we can still raise money for the town."
Having nothing more to say on this subject, Rhys added, "Hey, by the way, I don't see you in the manor. Do you live at the Hostess Club? I've got to head back to the manor, myself--dinner will be almost ready by now, and I want to be sure my wife's okay.
I'm pretty sure she's pregnant," he concluded, half to himself. "I mean, she shows all the obvious signs. But she doesn't seem convinced... I told her she could see a doctor for a second opinion if she doesn't believe me..."

"s**t!"
The soldier who had stayed behind to watch Soren bit his lip after expressing his concern about what was happening. He was supposed to watch watch this man, until his comrade came back with Vice Captain Rath. Now, however, the two people were leaving. According to what the soldier overheard, Nino's son was going to lead the other to someplace. The soldier had no idea where that would be, but he couldn't just follow them without letting his comrade know he had gone to follow them. And he couldn't just wait here and let the two walk away, either.
Thinking quickly, the soldier picked up a discarded piece of wood, and set it in front of him. He then took his lance and began to carve out an arrow into the wood. When he finished he placed the wood with the arrow pointing to where the two were heading, then casually began to follow them. He kept his distance, and blended with the crowd as he could. Soldiers walking the streets wasn't an odd thing. When they were seen, it was expected that they were just going about their duty. Suspecting them of stalking somebody would be absurd.
--------------------
At the castle, the soldier who had hurried off had arrived and made his way up to Rath's office. Once he was let in, the soldier approached and prepared his message.
"Sir, I come with an urgent message."
Rath did not look up from his work. Nothing important had really happened lately and he did not expect the news to be on much interest. He simply keps doing what he was doing, as he replied. "What is it?"
"Sir! As I and my counterpart were patrolling the streets, we overheard an odd conversation from Captain Nino's son and a strange man."
"...And?"
"It... seems as if the man that the boy was speaking with was the one who had caused much trouble in the desert, back in the fall. He was a pale man with deep black hair. He was addressed by the name Soren."
"..." Rath stopped what he was doing, when he heard this, and looked up at the soldier. He could tell that there was no lie in his voice. "...Where was this?"
"By the marketplace. My counterpart is watching them, until you arrive, sir."
"Good..." Rath stood up, attached his blade to his side, and looked back at the soldier in front of him. "...Bring me there."
--------------------
Out in the streets, the other soldier had caught up to the two, after making his sign. He would try to hold them from leaving, if he could, but in case he couldn't, that sign would be helpful to lead the vice captain in the right direction.
The soldier looked around, trying to find another comrade that would be able to aid him, but they must have all been in other locations. Still, he had to do something. "Excuse me!" It suddenly came out, without even a second thought. The soldier realized that, well, he was a guard. He could stop people on the street, if he wanted to.
After calling out, a few heads turned, but the soldier did not pay them any mind. He was looking at two specific people, making it clear that he was getting their attention. He made his way calmly over to the two people he was following, playing things cool, so as not to cause any tension. It would be best to not cause this man to flee. However, the more strenuous thing on the soldier's mind was what he would say to keep these two busy. He tried to think of something along the way to them, but failed to come up with something lengthy. He would just have to come up with something as the conversation continued. "You are Captain Nino's child, are you not?"

Thump.
Lance didn't even react to the impact until a man fell over in front of his eyes. Great, now I'm invisible to people as well. Even so, he didn't particularily care about it, so if the man hadn't mentioned it, Lance wouldn't even had bothered thinking about it.
The man, as though accusingly looking at Lance, told him to get up, and not in a polite tone either. Lance's eyes was blurred, but he sighed as he stood up. "Ya have sam nerve punk. No' only do ya trip over me 'cause ya own negligence, but then ya try ta blame me for i'? It's you who tripped over me, a'ight?"
It wasn't as though Lance was without fault, but he refused to admit anything like that. "Now if ya...aah...ACHOO!"
After sneezing the man right in the face, Lance cleared his nose before finishing his sentence. "...'scuse me."
Lance was shivering as he staggered off, away from the area, and entered through the door into an establishment a few ways away. "Maybe some nice brandy will heal me righ' up, tha'd be lovely, if only I coul' drink." he thought, as he stumbled into the Hostess Club.

The food didn't last long, really; it was more like people turned away and the food was gone. It did make it's way into Rain's stomach, surprisingly enough. It seemed like he hadn't eaten in a while, though honestly he looked pretty well-fed. Course, that cat had kinda sent him for a slight loop. s**t, Susa was the name of that town he'd kinda destroyed, wasn't it? He'd just been trying to get some food, so he'd.... well, let himself in a back door, except it turned out there had been people inside already. Eating. Which kind of sucked since he'd come in right next to the table. So he'd gotten the hell out, them on his tail - literally - and he'd managed to knock over a lantern. Into an old building. An old, DRY building that seemed to be used as a clothing store. Or something, he wasn't sure. Anyway, it went up in flames REAL fast. And if this kiddo was a lower-level officer, from that town, no doubt he would've been on the scene. At least the kid didn't recognize him, so it must've just been a passing glance.
Aaaaaand what was that. One eye twitched slightly at seeing Aruna up there, but he didn't say anything. Not one word. No, he wasn't going to comment. He probably should expect some more freaky s**t around here. Snake-woman shouldn't be that big of a deal. But he did keep one eye on her, just in case. She was one of the hostesses here, right? No danger, probably. But he was used to being wary. Not like he wasn't followed around half the time. At least there weren't any of those damn squawking chickens around.
This place was.... really kind of boring. But he didn't feel like going outside. He could wait around until someone got here, which would probably be the sensible thing to do. And not cold. Eh, why the hell not. A small light flashed in one hand, and his form shifted, slipping into that of a slightly larger-than-average wolf. Said wolf trotted over to the fire and curled up next to it, off to one side a bit so as not to block the warmth for others, apparently. He lifted his head and gazed down the room at the hostesses. "Water, if you could?" His voice was rough and a bit growly; wolf vocal cords aren't the best at imitating human sounds, though laguz were closer. But, it still sounded relatively polite.
