[Ivan] Ivan looked at the first elf who had addressed him with more enthusiasm then he cared to give the other. For the first elf had mentioned grabbing a drink before he went to the inn, and that sounded like a fine idea to the sea dwarf.
"Ah fine idea lad, fine idea. Tell ya what, we shall enjoy a nice mug, and I can regal ya with tales of ta sea," Ivan gave the elf a hardy pat on the back and began walking into the tavern, when the other elf spoke up, "To my pleasure ye can owe me a drink I think, as to my reason for bein here. Well it seems even the fine lady of ta sea can only take so much of me, Bwhahaha," Ivan gave a laugh from his little rhyme he had produced in such a short time.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ [Tristram]
Tristram nodded his approval of the Inn over the tavern seeing the sun beginning to give off its more vibrant colors. However the nobleman was stopped for a moment as he saw an odd dwarf walk up to the group and begin a conversation. The elf with the falcon seemed eager enough to attend to the dwarf for now so Tristram gave the short man little attention.
"Let us be off to the Inn at once then. The day is quickly waning in the sky and I do not wish to be out when dark takes over. All manner of beast comes out in the night around here," Tristram looked around at the gathering of people of different races and chuckled at his statement, "Even more so than during the day. Lady Nightingale if you know the way we shall follow your lead, and if the Halfling needs assistance moving I'm sure our gallant prince can sweep the young damsel off her feet."
Cronos followed the Dwarf into the Tavern and looked back too see the others preparing to leave. He motioned to a table for Ivan to sit at. "Theres a table my friend, I will fetch us some drinks." He walked towards the owner and held out a few gold coins. "Id like some of your finest ale please, and two of your biggest mugs. Im drinking with a dwarf, and I here they can drink alot." The man laughed slightly and took the coins. "Ill have them too you in a few moments." Cronos walked back to his table and looked at Ivan. "You know I must say I am rather shocked to see a dwarf become a sailor. I thought most dwarfs stuck to there mines. You know I can think of countless stories and reports I have read on the various treasures that they have found in there mines."
"Yes, yes I suppose you would call it your sword," Nggrh said idly, staring at it and reaching out before drawing his hands back. "Yes, your sword. Well it's really nice to meet you, very nice. Nice sword, nice prince..."
He nodded vigorously, taking the Prince's hand and pumping it in what he considered would be friendly. "Well I suppose I'll be off - is that a Halfling over there? Notorious things, I hear."
The Gnome's feet brought him over to the Halfling woman who was wailing and sobbing with a Maiden fawning over her. The Halfling had a nice red sash that was a nice red, like her hair. A pretty red.
Nggrh didn't introduce himself; he didn't want to bother the two who were busy hugging, and the sash was probably getting in the Halfling's way, so Nggrh relieved the redhead from her sash and ambled off.
Before Lelain could answer her questions Kira's attention turned to Jace, who had come back from leading the way to the inn and she smiled in amusement.
"It's just down the road you came from Sir Alaris, but over the bridge at the end and through the second alleyway. It is the quickest route, but it is the back of the Inn so you might not have seen the hanging sign."
Then she saw the small man and saw the sash disappear from about Lelain's waist.
"Um.. excuse me good sir.." She began, unsure of how to address the Gnome without his name and without being exactly sure he was a Gnome.. for she had never seen a Gnome before. "But you did not ask Lelain if you could look at her sash, and it's bad form to begin disrobing a lady that in public, and one that you have not even introduced yourself to.. not to mention haven't even married..."
As her thought continued Kira could only be presented more and more with how inappropriate the action was she she gave the Gnome a stern, yet kindly, expression. All the while she could not dismiss the coming darkness and the wisdom in the Noble's words of finding shelter.. if only all of them could be directed to seek it at once.
[ MEDARA y'TISAN ]
The Halfling was hard-pressed to hide a grin when Lelain squeezed her; the position they were in would have been construed as odd and not-too appropriate had Medara still possessed her male body. Apparently, with small girl-like women, nobody batted an eyelash at anything.
"I- I think I can make it to the inn..." Medara said, sniffling pathetically and milking this girl's kindness for all it was worth. She really was pretty, but Medara suspected there wasn't much going on beyond her lovely face. "I-... I think I'll be fine," she added afterwards, as though she were trying act strong despite a weakness.
... And then she felt someone tugging at her sash.
Regretfully, she let go of Kira and wheeled around on the Gnome who was stealing her sash.
Anger flared, and Medara was very close towards teaching the Gnome some manners the hard way when she remembered she was playing the cute and sad role. Instead of teaching the Gnome where to shove it, Medara burst into a new wave of wailing sobs.
[ CARLTON ]
There was a decidedly odd look on Carlton's face when the Gnome Nuggh... Ng... Ny... N-something grabbed his hand, shook it quite vigorously, and wandered off. The Prince stood there, befuddled and confused, and his princely, strangely-hued golden gaze followed the strange Gnomish fellow as Nggrh ambled off...
And stole the Halfling's sash.
Carlton darted over, jerked out of his surprised stupor by the Gnome's behavior.
"Stop there, thieving fiend! First my sword, and now the Halfling lady's sash? Have you no sense of decency, of propreity!? The woman is crying!"
Alaris
Seeing the new commotion was enough for Jace to finally attempt to calm the situation.
"Now now people, I'm sure this can be settled at a later ti-"
He stopped for a moment, realizing that he could not be heard over everyone else, attempting a few more times to gather their attention, he became irritated. All of the noise was wearing thin on him, and he needed to re-institute order, and a purpose, amongst everyone.
He raised his hands into the air, just larger than a 90 degree angle. Forming a ball of air in each palm, he began to speak as they came closer together, in a clapping motion.
"That's... ENOUGH!!" His hands met, and the two air spheres clashed together loud enough to alert the entirety of the townsfolk. Now, having everyone's attention, including many bystanders, he began to speak again.
"Can these disputes not be settled... after we arrive at the Inn? I beseech you all, may we move along... please?"
[Tristram] As Tristram rubbed his ears from the loud thunder clap that came from the remaining elf the nobleman did have to salute the wizard. It was indeed a clear way to gain the attention of everyone and try and bring some order to the chaos that was beginning.
"The elf is correct, the sky is beginning to fill with the purples hues of twilight and we will barley make it to the Inn as it is now before dark at this point," Tristram looked over to see the gnome holding the Halflings sash and the little woman crying over the event, "Good gnome if you don't mind," Tristram yanked the sash from the gnome causing the little creature to lose some balance, "Thank you. Now good Halfling try and keep your cloths on for the next few moments please," With that Tristram began walking towards the Inn hoping others would follow.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ [Ivan] The dwarf sat down at the nearest table while he waited on the well mannered elf. It was not every day one meet an elf who was understanding of a dwarf. As the elf sat back down Ivan thought about the man's question for a moment and gave a chuckle.
"Tis true many of me kin would rather toil away in the earthen mines, but my family has been in ta...sailing business for more generations then I care ta count. We dwarves do well enough on the sea, once we gets our sea legs of course, since we have a knack for the powder and engineering we can keep a ship afloat when she should have already killed over," the barkeep brought the large mugs to the table at that point which now became the dwarf's main focus, "Now that is fine mug, and a finer treat my good elf. Remind me to repay yur kindness one day, " With that Ivan downed the large mug in a few gulps and slapped the empty vessel down on the table, "Ah fine brew, fine brew," a belch escaped the dwarf at that point that coincided with the thunderous clap from the elf outside the tavern, "Well now, that was a good one, Bwhahahaha."

Cronos couldnt stop himself from laughing when he saw how fast the dwarf down the ale. "Very impressive my friend." Cronos knew that if there was one way to impress a dwarf, it was with drinking. He grasped his mug and downed the entire beverage just as fast as the Dwarf. "My apologize in advance." he said right before he let out a very large belch that left him breathing heavily at the end. "How was that?" he said looking at Ivan. "And by the way, my name is Cronos, what is yours?" Cronos looked over towards a window after his last statement, turning his ear towards it. Strange he thought, whats that flapping?

MEPHISTELLA
with great pleasure she watched through one mirror as the town grows dark, not from the coming night which is due to descend soon enough, but from the numerous beautiful black wings of her pets. A woman screams and is soon drowned out by an answering shriek from the ALPHA MALE of the swarm, and then echoed by the masses of furry bodies.
left to the forests to breed on their own her beautiful pets took on numbers she could have never imagined for them and now those numbers were infinitely loyal to her and determined to swoop down upon her enemies.
from the darkness she laughed, and that laugh became a cackle, and she watched the Monkeys cross the village faster than any horse and bring themselves upon the party.
her alpha led the charge, angling for the first of the wizards for his link to her mind told him all he needed to know of her distaste for the arcane users, and he was accompanied by his two strongest mates.
the others scattered, finding the small ones first, and let loose another barrage of threatening and jeering shrieks as they clawed and pawed, snatched and gnawed, at every fleshy pink hint of skin they could find from the bodies beneath them.
they attacked villagers too, and she frowned, but she did not stop them. With the distraction of violence the party would be even more unbalanced and caught off-guard by this attack.

Nggrh was not a fighter.
Nggrh did not like fighting - he always ran from it, which explained why his wife was somewhere at home and he was off gallivanting about the world, having non-fighting adventures that kept him far away from the arguments that awaited him in what was supposed to be the peace and comfort of his own humble abode.
So when the flying Monkeys descended on the village, Nggrh tossed the red sash back at the Halfling (he'd pick it up later) and glanced around nervously. As soon as his eyes lighted on a wagon, Nggrh dived beneath it and cowered.

Kira watched in horror as her attention was diverted to the massing shadow of beating wings and warm furry bodies, frozen as they descended, and only came to to scream as one swooped down dangerously close to her.
It missed her, but did not miss grabbing onto her hair, and she felt herself dragged a few feet back from the Halfling and the others. She kicked her feet madly and yelled at the beast to let her go, and she was dropped, landing smartly on her bottom.
It took only a moment for her to gather her wits, recover her bow from where it had been dropped, and make a scramble towards a nearby wagon (the same which the Gnome had fled to) to give herself some amount of cover while she produced her small quiver and readied her bow.
She did not wish to hurt the beasts, for they were a little bit cute in their own way, but as she looked about she could see chaos descending on the village and those that had been unfortunate enough to be about at this hour, and she brought the bow to bear so that she might discourage the beast from attacking any unsuspecting towns folk or any of her friends.
Though she was confident enough in her friends' abilities to protect themselves, both with sword and magic, she worried about her small woman companion.
"Lelain!" She cried, trying to get the Halfling's attention over the roar of wings and shrieks and screams, "Over here, quickly!"

[ MEDARA y'TISAN the HALFLING ]
"Lelain" was ******** pissed. First some short Gnome character makes off with her sash (which she was now busy trying to tie back around her waist, knotting it at the side). Secondly, there were now giant flying monkeys... flying. The claw of one raked through her hair, and Medara's beautiful face gained a feral light; he was not about to be mauled by freakish abominations.
The soft-hearted Kira could hide, but Medara was going to take this as an opportunity to take out at least a month's worth of frustration on these airborne freaks.
Out of nowhere, Medara whipped out a frying pan. She usually carried it when she was traveling, and couldn't remember when she'd picked it up, but she had it now and the fire-side of the pan was very good for --
A Monkey swooped down to her side, veering left and trying to tear her to pieces with its claws. Medara brought the frying pan down on its head, a satisfying clunk ringing out as the creature dropped to the ground. The Halfling then jumped on it for good measure, and then launched herself at another Monkey, frying pan raised threateningly.
[ CARLTON, PRINCE of DENASY ]
Carlton was going to continue to berate the Gnome for his lack of propriety when the Monkeys descended upon the village. Ever the brave Prince, Carlton drew his sword, barely noticing that the Gnome had relinquished his hold on the Halfling's sash and run off.
The jeweled hilt fit perfectly to his hand; this was a weapon that had been crafted for Carlton of Denasy and no other, and Carlton of Denasy wielded it with an expertise that only strong innate talent augmented by training since birth could yield.
"Be at ease, miss Kira, Nggrh! I will stand guard, here!"
Twirling the sword in an unnecessary flourish, Carlton dashed towards Kira and the Gnome, placing himself protectively before the wagon. A quick horizontal sweep dropped the first Monkey, and he quickly whipped his sword around in reverse-arc to dispatch a second.
These things were vicious and quick, but Carlton was skilled with his sword (though he did earn a scratch along his cheek when he stopped dead and stared gape-jawed at the frying pan the Halfling pulled out and began attacking with).

Alaris
Jace was surprised by the sudden attack of flying creatures. He didn't know what they were, but he could tell they were vicious, and from their flight path, he knew their intent. Placing his book into his satchel, he readied himself to begin using arcane on a level that he had not been forced to in years. But, just as they came close, most flew over him. However, he never dropped his guard. He could see he was in great danger personally, because the largest of the creatures was leading a small group directly to him.
Realizing that the others were far to preoccupied with their own assaulters, he could tell he was on his own. Launching a spark into the air, he changed the density and composition of the air around it, create an instantaneous explosion. However, he was rather rusty with this spell, and found his timing was not quick enough. One of the creatures had thrown dirt into his eyes, blinding him momentarily. Regaining his composure, he found the two lesser beings circling around him.
Channeling the air into a small vortex, he trapped them into the center of it. with a grin, he launched a spark directly into the center of it. A moment later, the mini tornado exploded, causing many windows to be blown out around them. He was sure to control the explosion well enough to not cause harm to the others, or serious damage to the town.
However, in his small sense of victory, the Alpha Male had been able to sneak behind him and grab his ankles. A startled yell had left his lips, just before he attempted to set the abomination on fire, other hand placed to secure his satchel. The creature had other plans. Slamming Jace's head against a building, Jace was knocked cold, and carried higher into the air, up into the clouds.
Now out of sight, the chaos continued beneath him. With his no longer clutching to the bag, his book fell to the ground, just behind Kira's wagon. It landed so no one would notice amongst the commotion, except the gnome, and the maiden herself.

[Tristram]
"Flying monkeys!? If a green skinned woman jumps out at me next I'm just going to leave."
Tristram had only crossed a small amount of distance from the Tavern to the Inn when the creatures attacked. He watched as Kira scrambled for cover but withheld from firing her weapon, the Halfling seemed less helpless that before fending off the flying fur balls with a frying pan, and the prince was indeed living up to his talk of swordsmanship. Tristram turned to see the elf wizard carried off by a group of the flying creatures which now left them without their best means of defense. With a sigh and a growl Tristram brought his cane up and unsheathed his blade from within the walking stick. The blade was the entire length of the cane, something not common for sword canes, and razor sharp.
Tristram watched as several of the flying creatures bore in on him and the nobleman had little time to plan his actions, but that was all he needed. The first came at Tristram with claws ready to rack across his fine face. The man pivoted on his left foot allowing the creatures to pass right by him, but not without receiving a slash to one of its wings right were wing and back meet. Tristram began walking towards Kira and the other to provide a more stable defense as the creatures swarmed all around them. The other two creatures charged the nobleman and Tristram answered their wild attacks with a thrust through the heart to one, then spinning his blade for defense and slashing the second across the face. Tristram continued to spin his blade back and forth making the monkeys have to think twice before charging the spinning steel. The Nobleman was using the time to scan the beasts and perhaps deduce a motive or a means to stop the attack. Tristram spied one of the abominations flying with several flanking it, and it appeared larger than the rest.
"There," Tristram exclaimed as he ran another monkey through the heart, "Carlton kill the alpha, kill the leader and they will lose their senses and maybe leave us," Looking to see Kira still only holding her bow and still looking scared, "I will cover the ladies if you see to the alpha," Tristram knew the gallant prince would not leave the damsels if he thought they would come to harm by his leaving.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ [Ivan] Ivan smiled as the elf downed the mug of ale and was about to give the man a fine complement when screams erupted from the outside. A villager came crashing through one of the windows and a strange flying creature came in after him to begin tearing at the poor man. Ivan produced one of his axes and launched it end over end at the little beast. The axe blade slammed into the monkey and pinned it dead to the nearby wall. Ivan walked over to retrieve his weapon and as he did he looked outside.
"By me ancestors ghosts, what in ta bloody hell is going on?" Ivan looked out to see the group of adventurers standing together and fighting off the flying menaces, "Let's go elf, tar be fightin ta do," Ivan cracked his neck and produced his second axe as he exited the tavern.
Outside he could see the village covered in the little devils, and causing all sorts of damage and chaos. The group from before was fighting with everything they had, even cooking utensils. The dwarf howled with glee as he sailed into the mix of things, axes swinging all the way. He took several cuts to his gruff face from passing monkeys, but answer each with a blow from his axe that either took a wing or another limb. The dwarf found himself near a wagon the others had formed around as a central point of defense. The dwarf took a position slightly behind the wagon which allowed him the best chance to cover the others and get in good with the action.
The wagon was now flanked by three fighters, four if your counted the frying pan wielding Halfling, and Ivan was, and maybe five if Kira would fire. Ivan was assaulted by several of the beasts at that point all trying to overpower the stubby little man but each took a killing blow to the head of chest, and one received a bite to its neck as well from the crazy dwarf. The dwarf was now covered in small cuts and scratches and his face was red with fresh blood but if that bothered the dwarf, he did not show it.
"Bring it on ya little rat devils, I'll kill every last one of ya and then I'll kill yur friend too," somehow the dwarf found time to reach down and take a drink from a flash he had in his belt. Fresh with ale in his blood the dwarf fought on.
Cronos ran out into the streets, following right behind Ivan. He looked up into the sky looking at the hundreds of flying monkeys. "Whats next?" he cracked his knuckles "A flying elephant?" Cronos ducked as a monkey flew over his head. He ran towards the others, dodging and weaving alone the way. He stopped in between the nobleman and the dwarf. "Sam!" he yelled, as he saw one of the monkeys holding his falcon. He rubbed his hands together, and aimed them at the creature. A small jolt of lightning went flying out, entering the monkey right between the eyes and sending him flying. Samantha quickly flew back to Cronos landing on his shoulder. "Im glad your ok my friend." He said as he flexed his hands. "Who is ready for a light show." Cronos created a small and brief twister around the group to push some of the monkeys back so they could rally themselves. Cronos sent out a much larger blast of lightning, striking four of the monsters.
