Taxus didn't acknowledge Crow's onslaught or that he had heard Ginkgo. Digging was no use. It was too deeply embedded. He went at it with his teeth then. The peg was uprooted a tiny bit, the wood thin just where it went into the ground. He gnawed at it wildly, teeth bleeding after a few dozen splinters in his gums.
He paused, seeing her paws. Logic snapped into his brain. "Faili. Faili, hold still." he said in a quiet, calming voice. "please....stop moving."

"We need to get home. This entire thing feels botched." The buck with torn ears grumbled as Bramblebur approached. His tawny eyes narrowed and he stomped his foot again.
"Lets go, as fast as we can. Hopefully too many weren't lost!"

Her paws were moving slower anyway, the oxygen in her blood slowly running out. She coughed and spluttered, slowly laying down, mostly on her own accord. She was tired and was definately unable to get enough air in to keep her going. Her vision was fading, she couldn't even see the peg in front of her face.
"dig.. dig.." she weakly gasped, logic being far from her at this point.

Foxtail nodded once, “Yes, the dread will only make me run faster”. At the sound of the thump he sat straight up and looked around them. Gingko wanted them to retreat? Then so be it. “Right. Back to the Down! Run everyone and run fast!” he called to those around him before tearing off in the direction Ginkgo was headed.

he was exhausted from the emotional explosion and his poor thumping heart. Whimpering like a kitten, he let doe shove him away, looking over at Faili with his eyes wide in fear. He didn't want to leave, not until he saw her jump back up and run away like he knew she would. He refused to hurry like the others, holding back and waiting for his sister to rise.

Inle'arn allowed him this for now, watching the scene over her shoulder before nudging the youth further away. He could be slow, so long as he was moving.

She was slowing down...He found this as both a blessing (he could do what he needed) and a curse (she was fading fast.) He slunk behind her neck, biting the slip of the chord. Like he hoped, it came lose! He pulled harder, the snare wire coming more and more lose. Then, he jumped on her body and over her head, pulling her chin up. then, it was off. Feeling very proud, he looked about. They were going...he bit her tail, pulling back on her, his huge body pulling her to the cover of the bush, in the shadows as quickly as he could. "Get up." he ordered. "Come on. the wire's off. get up!"

A loud crack filled the air as the man aimed... And missed.

"Wire... off..?" She croaked, unaware of the ease of her breathing once again, filling her lungs with much needed air. She choked on the blood on her mouth, before gasping properly, again coughing harshly. Freedom. She was free. Did she do it? She couldn't tell. Blinking a few times, she slowly got up, collapsing once or twice, but got up.
"Taxus..." She muttered, trying to focus on him. It was Taxus right? Wait, wasn't she doing something before the wire bit her? Oh!
And then: BANG.
She snapped awake, as if she had been sleeping all this time. "We have to go!" She gasped, finally up in a much more positive stance. She was still a little wobbly, but the adreniline was running once more. Fight or flight was kicking in and she had to move.
"Lets go." She said, in agreement with him, and started for the others, keeping close to the buck this time, as she wanted nothing less than another snare at her throat.

Another gunshot, but it hadn't hit him. He was shell shocked, everything was weird and not making sense. His sister was hit? No, she was ok. She was up and moving. Wait, moving? Snare. No snare. No Flayrah. Where was his parents? Where was everyone?
He moved, keeping up with Faili as his brain jumbled thoughts together. There was others here. Wait, the farm raid. He started moving faster, his brain finally catching up with him.

The bang made him jump. "Yes. The flayrah will wait another time." he urged, using his bulk to keep her moving, keeping low in the bushes. "We're not safe here. We need to get back to the down." he said, hurrying her. He closed his eyes.
"Frith...be with us. I will do anything for you if you are with us now..." he promised. He urged her along, still in great danger. He hurried her along the fence line, keeping under bushes and trying to move as quickly and undetected as he could. He would give her his support. She and he were group members...If she died, he would die first. That's what owsla officers did, wasn't it?
"We're gunna make it." he encouraged. "Frith be with us, we'll make it yet."

Bramblebur let Foxtail go first before following after. Everyone seemed to be getting the message that everyone was hightailing it out of this blood bath and back to the Down.
CRACK!! Another shot fired. The buck prayed that no on got hit. He kept his body low in the brush, still being mindful of potential snares, snakes, and such. He was more than ready to go home, but he did his best to keep his mind on the dangers that seemed to surround them.

CRACK!
Another fire, but this time it found a mark in the rump of the brave Taxus. Though it wasn't instantly fatal, it was incredibly fatal and slimmed his chances of survival highly. In fact, he would be lucky if he got off the farm at all.
"Hawt damned! Got one, Ida!" The farmer called loudly, though he could see the animal was still alive, though wounded. Wouldn't be hard to track down at all.

Faili was glad to see her brother, and if she was able, she'd have smiled at him as she hurried with her teammate. "You did well. . . Thank you, Thlayli.." she told him with a hoarse voice. Though she knew Taxus had helped her also, she felt her brother should have encouragement also.
"We'll make it.. We'll make it.." She repeated quietly to herself as she hopped along, picking up in pace where she could, wanting to be free of this nightmare to rest. Suddenly there was another crack, and the male escorting her was slammed into the fence. It naturally startled her, and she broke into a run. The exit of the fence was so close.
She cursed herself for not being able to return the favour to the buck. "Taxus! You can make it! I know you can!" She called to him, nudging her brother to move faster towards the exit.

"C'mon, keep moving everyone!" Ginkgo encouraged, though it was clear the shots were frightening him badly. Any one of them could be hit at any time.
"As fast as you can! Move, move!"
