Blood.
Everywhere. That was all his silver eyes seemed to register as the hound's massive maw clamped down over Fledgestone's body. His heart sank. He hadn't helped, though he had tried.
And...
Now the dog's gaze was only on him. He gulped audibly and turned tail, fleeing towards his original destination, the barn, as fast as his splotched paws could carry him.

 A silver blur shot down from the rafters, breezing past the Owsla doe. Raven! The damned elil had it's claws latched in her kitten's body, and the marli had only a moment more to think before anger took over.
Gnashing her teeth loudly, she twisted her body and rocked on her forepaws, bringing her hind legs up to kick as hard as she could into the cat's side; trying to knock it loose from her daughter. She'd figure out the rest later.

Nothing, nothing was coming down that hole, neither Elil or Fledgestone. She made up her mind. She'd wait here. She could dig up through that hole some time from now and make her way home when the place had calmed down. Though she had came here for a raid, the shrieks and noises around her were terrifying, this was no such raid. This was a plan by the black rabbit himself to lure rabbits to their deaths, she was sure. But she herself? She had a mission of her own. She had a sanctuary here, and she'd use it when she can.
She slowly slunk back up towards the end of the tunnel, listening, the only sense that worked in this tiny little run.

Raven let out a shrill squeak as claws suddenly dug into her skin. Her first reaction causing her to go tharn, her golden eyes gazing up at the adults around her for help. The whole of her body shuddered, as she tried to shake away the fear causing her to freeze. The cat couldn’t be much bigger then her right? Although she couldn’t see it, she could tell, not to mention feel that the Pfeffa had to be larger then her by some degree.
Suddenly with a burst of nervous energy, possibly brought on by her marli's attempt to knock the cat from her back; Raven shook herself, jumping in the air as best she could and kicking out her legs; twisting her body in her best attempt to get the cat off her.

Despite his chest's heavy pounding, mind running wild with panic and frantic ideas fiddle with that would save him from this predicament, he could feel his body tiring. The running was becoming too much, his pace slowing, and though his legs still hit the ground, they were no longer rumbling through with the efficiency they were before. The gunshot was only slightly heard, but it was only his mind that had not processed the sound, for the rest of his hearing had gone numb with the ringing of it afterward. Even as he was called too he hardly noticed the voices, only catching wind when he saw the spotted male for the corner of his eye. "Wha..." he started, turning to head directly toward Cowslip.
But something stopped him. He didn't even feel it at first, but was suddenly aware his feet were no longer touching the ground as he was being lifted up. The pain caught up with him then as he was tossed up, letting out a single squeal before his voice was torn from his throat. It ended quickly. He was gone before he hit the ground.

Badassi was quick to move. Never had he been a rabbit ti sit aside and watch. He was sure Blackthorn would be in on him with this, and there was no way Althea would let a pfeffa take her outskirter. The gigantic doe wouldn't possibly sit back and watch.
In an attempt to aid her in getting her daughter free of the pfeffa's claws, he shifted forward, using his back legs as a spring, and rammed at the pfeffa with claws and teeth ready to shred it.

 For a brief instant he stared, saw Althea turn and knew what he had to do. With a snarl he shot away from the would-be safety of the wall and launched himself at the elil. Knowing better than to slam into the side of the creature and ruin the effect of Althea's kick, he lept high, teeth sinking into one short ear as he shot past, dragging the pfeffa's head round with the force of his leap, twisting it's head away from Althea. Flesh tore as he shot past, blood in his mouth as he landed close to the large doe, skidding as he got his paws under him, claws raking lines in the dirt.
"ATTACK!"

No sooner had the cat landed on her prey than she was attacked from all sides. Claws had dug into Raven's fur, and with the kicks from both her and her marli, was shoved back... claws raking through flesh but ultimately letting go. It hissed and lashed back at both Althea and Badassi with several swipes of its claws, however the pfeffa screamed with Blackthorn's attack, part of its ear now gone. It was then that the cat made a quick retreat. One rabbit it could handle... four it certainly could not. The barking of the dog, which was nearing as it chased Cowslip, also helped to hasten the cat's flight.
The hound chased Cowslip towards the barn, barking and baying the entire way. The hound was full of adrenaline after having made a kill and being an experienced hunting dog... closed in on him quickly. Just before Cowslip could reach the mouth of the barn with its false sense of safety... the dog caught the spotted buck in his teeth as well. Crunch. Again the body was shaken, but he didn't let go this time.

Blood dripped from his maw the dark buck heaved a breath, watching as the elil fled screaming. Yet there was no time for celebration as the barking of the dog suddenly sounded like it was right behind them. "HOLE, NOW!"
If the dog came in, they were all sitting ducks. Leaping behind Raven he shoved at her with his head, driving her towards where he had pointed out the rat's old hole earlier. Yet it wasn’t just the hole that was safe, with the Pfeffa gone the stacks were now safe, if they could climb them, or get in the hole, or get behind the bales, they would be safe from the far larger elil.
"HURRY!"

Her heart soared as the others rushed in to help her offspring, attacking the cat as if it was their own kitten. Raven was free, but now they had an angry cat to deal with, and no sooner had it let go of the Outskirter's back did it swipe at her and Badassi. She felt it's claws rake her thigh heavily, the pain at first sharp and then dulled quickly. She gave it little heed as the doe prepared another attack, but apparently the pfeffa thought better of it's plan and made a run for it; a good deal bloodier than it had started out as.
However; Althea had no time to rejoice. There was something going on right outside the barn, and she could smell blood. It was everywhere. Looking through the door, her eyes grew wide.
She knew that rabbit. She knew that...
Oh Frith. If that dog came in, it was over.

Raven skidded across the ground as the cat was knocked from her back. The wounds were painful but she remained on her feet, ready to fight back should the cat make another attempt.
As the elil retreated though Raven smirked, “Yeah you better run!” though she couldn’t relax yet, as the commotion outside was all too clear and that dog sounded too close for comfort, “What do we do now?” she asked nervously, just as Blackthorn leapt behind her, shoving her towards the rats hole, "Do you think I can fit in there? Besides, what if there are rats?", nevertheless she allowed herself to be shoved, too weak from the previous battle to put up much of a fight.

He would have growled had he the breath. "Bales!" He hissed at her, giving another shove to get her moving. "Get behind the bales! The dog's coming!" Even if it wasn't, it was way too close to the entrance for comfort, though thankfully they weren't that far into the middle of the area to be seen by it.

Pain seared Badassi as the pfeffa's claws raked through his flesh, but the pfeffa was far worse for wear, quite obviously, and this raised his spirits some. The pfeffa was fleeing, but now they had a dog to deal with, it seemed. Or sounded like it.
"Raven, just hide. Rats are far less worse than dogs." He practically growled as he backed away from the carnage outside. He peered at the hole, which would of been too small for he and Althea, most likely.
"Can't fit." And with that, he hurried himself to the bales, seeking shelter within them.

She heard the Blackthorn call out, and instantly ran for the bales. Maybe with Frith's help the dog wouldn't smell them for all the blood. Or the cat would distract it from them. But in any case, sitting like an idiot by the door was just asking for it. She dove next to the bundle of alfalfa hay, trying to shove her body between it and the wall.

He was so close to what he thought would be safety.
So close! If he just got through those doors, maybe he would find a place to hide! He continued to give himself these uplifting thoughts, but his optimism was quickly shaddered as the dog gained on him. He could feel it's breath.
His thoughts shot to his mate and soon to be born kittens... His paws left the earth...
And there was pain, though brief. Sound was lost to him and he found himself staring into a friendly face.
"Your time is now, Cowslip. Come, for with me you may do great things. Leave this place behind, friend, and join my warren."
His life seeped from him in the jaws of the dog.
