"Tha's th' point," Aisling said, sighing. "I donnae look nice anymore." As she spoke, she leaned her weight against the wall and pulled her skirt up a bit with one hand, revealing the scarring riddling her badly-healed legs.

Lee tilted her head, looking over the scars, not at all shocked or disgusted by the sight. How to cover those up and still look pretty.... "You could always wear stockings. They'd hide the scars, at least. Just because you have scars doesn't make you 'not nice looking'." Lee shrugged, shuffling her feet a bit, not knowing how else to convince Aisling she looked good.

"Y're way too nice," Aisling said, but she smiled as she spoke, a slight blush gracing her features. "Eh. . . . . y' can come tae m' vardo if'n y' wan. . . there's jus' no' tha' much there tae do, 's all. . . " Had she actually managed to make a friend after all this time? She wasn't sure, but she hoped so.

Lee gave Aisling a semi-shocked, semi-incredulous look, shaking her head. She wasn't nice. She was just being truthful. "Not much to do here, either, I guess." Lee shrugged, though couldn't say two teenage girls couldn't entertain themselves with simple chatter. And that's what she'd plan to do. She began to head for the door, a bit curious to see where Aisling lived, though knew it wouldn't look too different from every other vardo she'd seen.

Aisling blinked. "Mayhaps, bu' 'tis a nicer lookin' place tae have no' much tae do in." Following Lee, she limped her way outside and started the painful walk back to her vardo, which was small even by most standards.

As they headed for Aisling's vardo, Lee frowned, having expected to get more attention than they did. There were a few stares, sure, but they had yet to have anyone come up and speak to her. Perhaps this was how Aisling preferred it, though. Maybe she didn't want the attention? Lee moped along, her shoulders falling forward as she walked, her face maintaining a frown as they managed closer to where Aisling's home was sitting.

Aisling could see how dejected and nopey Lee was getting, and paused for a moment. "Donnae be bothered wi' th' lack o' attention; people 're busy and have thing tae be doin'; th' only reason I go' stares b'fore was because m' accident was big news f'r a while -- y' can ask y'r Rory abou' it, 'e was there tha' day I think," she said, in a weak attempt at trying to reassure the other girl.

Lee just folded her arms, resisting the urge to respond with an age appropriate, "whatever" as she looked off. Still, now she was a bit interested. "You and Rory worked together..." and Aisling still didn't talk to him. Never mind that, she wouldn't bring it up again. Interesting that Rory didn't bring the incident up with her, though she wouldn't expect the boy to be much of a gossiper anyway. Oh, but now Aisling was such a source of knowledge about the Rory before Lee came along. No asking about it, though. Bad Lee. Not everything was about Rory.

"Nae really," Aisling said. "I'd only see him now an' again, and usually I was too busy tae talk tae 'im e'en if'n I wasn' a coward 'bout it." Watching Lee, the black-haired former trick-rider sighed a bit. "Y' donnae have tae come wi' me if'n y' donnae wan' tae...." She shouldn't be surprised that the other girl was tired of her company - if she hadn't just been humoring her all along, that was - and wanted to go back to her happy life with her man. Really, it was only to be expected. She lived alone, she'd die alone, as alone as anyone could be in a community like Farstep anyway.
. . . So why did it bother her that this one person was tired of being around her?

Lee gave the other girl a confused smile, shaking her head a bit. "I'm the one who wanted to come along, remember? Hope you dun mind gossiping, though, 'cause that's kinda what I had planned." She snickered a bit, not used to having female friends her age anymore.

Lee shuffled along side the other girl, enjoying being able to walk slowly again. "Why wouldn't I?" Aisling asked silly questions. Glancing around her, the girl grinned to herself as she noticed a couple watching Aisling and whispering to themselves, Lee once again quite proud of her work.

Aisling shruged, not really noticing the whispers - or rather, trying not to, since she didn't know if they were the good kind or the bad kind. "I'm...... well........." She didn't have much of an answer for that, actually. She didn't know why people had started avoiding her in the first place, not in a way that could be put into words.

Lee sighed, stopping for a moment to look at the other girl, an eyebrow raised. "I dun really care what happened to you. If you're looking for some sympathy from me, you won't get it. Sorry, I just dun pity you. But I also won't avoid you just 'cause you were in an accident. I have no reason not to hang around you." And with that, she started walking again, somewhat moodier than she'd been before. Did Aisling just not want her around? She'd leave, if that was the case...
