Oh, this was getting interesting. Oh, yes. Indeed, it was. The play had just barely begun and already an actress had taken a bow. It was a shame the masked assassin won't be able to see her performance. Oh, well. Couldn't change the plot when being improvised.
The assassin watched from the top box, eating an apple. As much as he wanted to join in the play, he decided not to. After all, the mole was doing her part in his place. And, what was this? Another mole entering the scene. Oh, joy. He finally made it. The masked assassin wondered when he would arrived. Now the play would be even greater then. Of course, he would have to step in and take matter into his own hands in case things were getting out of control.
Oh, yes. The baroness would not be pleased with his mission if he let ALL the survivors die. After all, he didn't want to face her wrath if he failed. Baroness Charolais's punishment was far worse than the "play" he was giving to these contestants. Oh, yes. Indeed, it was.

Siegell smiled tersely at the sight of Adele, and a bit more widely at the spray of blood as he shouldered his way past Celera and into the main room. "Adele! It certainly has," he laughed softly, swinging his glaive up over his shoulder and shifting his feet into a slightly wider stance. "I haven't seen you since, oh... Well, since I left you to die in the desert. You look well."
He reached up slowly to brush a bit of his brown hair away from his face. "I see you've upgraded your axe. Couldn't hack it with a regular axe, had to go enchanted, huh?" He shook his head, clucking his tongue softly. "I'd say I was disappointed, but I'm honestly not surprised. I had hoped you'd learned a little self-respect from the time you spent with me... but in retrospect, I probably crushed any you had in the first place." He smiled cruelly, eyes narrow. His mask was just a bit off-center, and the jagged line where his lips were torn on the left side was just barely visible.
He had, again, pushed just past Celera on his way in, and she was now behind him, watching the two fighters chat. Shastah took this opportunity to trot out of the hallway behind Celera, and his great horned head whipped down with sudden force as his jaws closed over her head, teeth snapping down with enough force to crush through bone.

And now someone was coming up behind her. Cel didn't exactly move, per se; but she tightened her instincts, closing her eyes to sense the auras. A man and a wyvern. Dangerous. The man pushed past her, and she ignored him; he was busy talking to the others in the room. He wasn't even in any position to be fighting. She had to watch out for that thing though because it-
THERE. Her free hand snapped down, touching the icy spellbook by her side, and she whipped off a string of sharp words that she had memorized. And instead of the dragon getting a moutful of fresh human flesh, he would get a mouthful of ice; rather than allow someone else to kill her she'd frozen herself by her own hand.

"Yeah. Since you left me to die. Use me to gain Madriana's favor, and ditch me when that tanked."
She took a few steps, dragging Basilikos on behind her as she approached Siegell. She was still a fair distance from him, but the glare she gave him was just as potent as if they were face-to-face. "I was lost for months. And when I was rescued from those deserts, I was sold into slavery to repay my debts." She chuckled. "Funny thing is, though. Seems you've made a lot of enemies in some faraway countries. Said they'd consider my debts repaid for killin' you. Found this nifty little axe back in those deserts, got it enchanted by a local gypsy, and it wasn't hard to find out you were right here in Mordache!" She swung the axe in front of her, and as it struck the ground again it sent up a visible magical whirlwind.
"You're lookin' well yourself, I might add," she giggled. "I got some face scars myself now. We're just a regular pair, aren't we?" She nodded. "Except I don't go hidin' mine behind a mask like a coward."

Siegell shifted on his feet. "Sounds like me. Definitely piss a lot of people off, my line of work," he seemed to sigh. "It's a pretty good deal, all the--" he swung his glaive around sharply as he tried to lunge away from the blade of wind that suddenly shot toward him! Shastah backed off quickly from where he had just shattered Celera's frozen corpse in his struggle to get into the main cavern, backing once more into the hallway. One solid blast of wind magic could topple a flying wyvern, Siegell would be better off alone in this fight.
As the blade approached, Siegell had to make the snap decision that he hadn't time to fully evade it, and he dodged aside as he swung his glaive toward it. The snap-back of colliding momentum was enormous, and though the spell dissipated in the air, the Wyvern Lord gasped as his glaive was wrenched out of his hands and flung across the room.
He looked up, eyes suddenly narrow. Before looking he knew Adele would press this advantage, keep him away from his glaive, and sure enough he found her running straight at him. For a moment, he groped at nothingness, then recalled an unfamiliar weight at his hip.
The masked man grabbed the hilt of Acteon's sword and drew it swiftly, then lunged back and blocked Adele's downward swing with it, wincing at the ring, the sound of iron scraping on silver, and then a blast of wind hit him at point-blank range, and he was thrown back through the air, skidding and rolling on the stone.
"A-aagh," he growled under his breath, pushing himself up. His cape was in tatters, but his armor was intact, and he slowly drew the sword back up before shifting into a modified glaive stance. He'd have to deal with the short range for now, but as he dodged aside the next swing, instead of slicing, he swung his leg out and tried to catch it around Adele's ankle to trip her. Hopefully, it would give him enough time to reach his glaive...

Oh, dear... Oh, dear. Oh, him. Oh, his. This was not what the assassin had in mind. Usually, he would expect his two moles to work together and deal with the contestants before killing each other off. After all, he knew that the girl was told to kill off that mercenary. Oh..... If only he had the chance to fight dear Eric. However, orders were orders.
But, oh no. They decided to fight each other than dealing with the contestants. He had to stop their silly fight. Oh, yes. Indeed, he would.
The masked assassin stood up from his seat. He took one last bite of an apple before tossing the core into the arena and exited the top box. There were flights of stairs he had to march down, but he was in no hurry. Let them play with each other for a while. After all, it seemed like they knew each other well. Let's hope I'm not too late. Oh, yes. Indeed, I hope. The Cheshire man smirked as he continued walking down the stairs, smiling. It was unknown if his refusal to haste was on purpose or not.

"You know, Siegell," Adele screamed as she twirled around once more, carrying the weight of the axe around with her, "I actually kinda cared about you. Betcha don't get that one often!" She was as surprised as anyone when her attack was parried by a sword, an iron sword, of all swords! Oh, this was gonna be too fun.
She knew she had the advantage. Wyvern riders were better on their mounts, preferring speed and agility in themselves because their mount would pack all the power. But she was a berserker. She was built for power, and she would use that against him.
Oh, what was this? He was attempting to trip her? Wow, he really was useless off his mount, wasn't he? She nimbly leapt over his leg, using her axe for leverage, and brought her body swiftly over to the side to slam her bulk into him. Then she took the handle of her axe, heaved it in a full circle over her shoulder, and brought it down towards Siegell, narrowly missing him. As the axe buried itself in the ground, it sent out a fierce vortex of wind, shoving away anyone nearby - Adele included, as she'd lost control of the axe. A curse escaped her lips as she was sent flying backwards a few paces, and she growled fiercely as she removed her alter weapon: the dualscythe known as Deathcalibur.
She didn't rush him, though. Adele kept her distance, circling him with an almost amused smirk on her face. "That's the Siegell I knew. Shame you left me to die, we could've made a nice team. Leavin' me out there was the best thing ever, though! See, 'cause I regained my memory when I was on the edge of death. Funny how those things work, isn't it? I'm not that stupid little kid you left behind anymore. I've seen through your ruse, and I'm gonna be paid well when I bring your head back." She gave no warning before she dashed once again towards him, Deathcalibur twirling dangerously within her fingertips.

Siegell rolled and bounced across the floor, grunting and groaning before pushing himself to his feet. He was at a serious disadvantage here, with a weapon he was unaccustomed to. Nonetheless, her charge required him to be equally bold in order to use his speed and maneuverability to its maximum potential. He leaned forward, making himself as small as possible as he dashed toward the berserker, then suddenly he braced his feet, turned, and swung his sword out and up, thrusting it toward her stomach like a rapier for as much reach as possible! Even if she managed a swing in this position, she'd impale herself on the sword!

Just a little bit more, and there was no way he'd block this...
"Gah!" She found the blade of his sword now pointing directly at her. An instant longer, and she would find her body impaled upon it. But in a split-second impulse, she instead swung Deathcalibur in front of her, digging one of the pointed ends into the ground as she let her momentum carry her up...over Siegell! She grasped the handle firmly, pulling her weapon along behind her, and when she'd landed she twirled the blade fiercely, delivering a slash across Siegell's back.
"Really, Siegell," she announced tauntingly. "Is that all?"

He staggered a bit as the blade whisked across his back, but managed to maintain his balance and kept his momentum, then stopped to look back, his eyes narrowed to hard, evil slits. His cape lay in a bloodstained heap on the floor.
His cape.
A twisted smile spread on his face and he threw his head back hard enough that his mask slid off and broke in half on the stone floor. His arm shot out suddenly and he took the handle of his glaive in one hand, then pulled it from the wooden support into which it had been stuck. "You wrecked my cape, Adele," he laughed softly, still facing the wall. The echo in the chamber magnified his voice eerily as it bounced all around the room. "I was going to go easy on you. Now I'll have to wreck something of yours..." He laughed again, suddenly sheathing his glaive on his back, and then he spun, his face twisted in a maniacal, broken grin before he kicked off the wall and hit the ground at a dash.
The berserk Wyvern Rider ran low to the ground, arms out, and grabbed up his cape on the way, holding it out beside himself like a streaming flag for a victory lap. He watched Adele heaving back to swing, then swept aside, dodging the first strike. He whipped his arm forward as she turned it horizontal, throwing the cape at Adele's face to blind her as he dropped, sliding under her swing, and then pushed up and brought his fist right into her jaw. As she was struck with the recoil, he laughed and brought his right fist around with enough force to break her nose, then followed it up with a continuous assault on her face and chest, his fists connecting over and over as tactics, sense, and weaponry were dismissed in favor of the pure power of blind rage.
With each connection of fist with flesh, the cape on Adele's face got a little more red.

The heron girl pointed down the hallway. Was that the direction they needed to go to win? Well, it was the direction they were heading. "C'mon, Elise!" Scar grabbed the girl's wrist and together they ran down the hallway. The person before them seemed to have tripped all the traps along it. They both made it safely to the end of the hallway and found themselves at the opening of a great, open room. Within it stood four figures in the center. Kind of three, if you counted the living ones and five if you counted individual pieces of people.
So Scar broke her hold on the heron girl's arm and crept around the catacombs, surveying the action in the center. Two of them were fighting really viciously and Scar knew it wasn't a good idea to get involved there. The lion she'd met earlier and this other girl were just kind of standing there, watching. Scar crept closer to the group, still remaining hidden, and she came up on the lone girl. She held a flail in one hand. "Fufufu, shall we~?" that whisper came. "We're growing ever so anxious~"
"Uh huh," Scar muttered back. "Do it."
Spirits weren't really the most reliable or the strongest of allies but they knew how to fight. And when the enemy wasn't expecting it, they were the best! Scar watched as the faint whisps of light moved away from her, creeping upon the other girl, and only when it was too late had the girl noticed the eerie chill on her. The whisps circled her, moving faster and faster and to a trained eye faint figures with katanas could be seen closing in on her.
"Slice and dice~!"
Cuts and wounds tore open upon the girl's body, blood gushing out of orifices that a moment ago hadn't been there. Skin became patterned with fine cuts that soon turned into deep gashes, blood staining the tattered clothing. Then the slashes ceased for a moment, before one more finally came, and the girl's head fell to the ground. A second later, the body itself fell as well.

"H-uurk!" Adele's breath was strained as he caught her off-guard, wrapping his torn cape around her to ensnare her. She struggled to free herself, but it was futile. Deathcalibur had fallen to the ground, and she couldn't reach it as she grasped the ground frantically. Wham, wham! came the assault against her face, brusing tender flesh and snapping fine bones. She could feel blood trailing down her face from gashes upon her face and from her nose, and teeth dislodged from her mouth. It hurt, but he wasn't going to kill her this way, short of asphyxiation! She just had to escape...
Her hands were still flailing, looking for a way to free from his grasp. She couldn't push him away, and she couldn't reach Deathcalibur. But as her fingers traced the hilt of the tomahawk at her side, she firmly grasped it, slashed it up with the intent of separating the fabric that kept her bound. The serrated blade tore through, freeing enough slack to allow her to slip out and scramble across the ground. No, she wasn't done yet! She spun around, hurling the axe at Siegell, and ran a safe distance from him as she nimbly picked Deathcalibur off the ground. And then she spun around back towards the man, spitting a few teeth out of her mouth and wiping the blood trailing from her nose.
"Hah...hahaha...you've had your fun, Siegell," she murmured, a touch of insanity in her voice. "Are you ready to die now?" Her voice had grown louder, escalating into a snarl.

♥ ~ BLISS ~ ♥ Bliss nearly screamed as she saw Adele approach. No... NO!! She tried to do something to defend herself, but it was too late.
Thud.
She fell to the ground, bleeding. Flu-- "Light" was forced out of her grip, laying in a pool of her blood. The red stained the cover and pages of the tome.
... But she wasn't dead yet. See, the axe severed her left arm completely from her body, but it didn't kill her! It just made her bleed a lot. ... A lot, a lot, a lot. She clutched at the stump that was now her left arm, trying to block the blood flow with her sleeve. "Ow..." Her face twisted with pain. "That hurt..." I'm still alive, though! A grin came to her face. So what if she lost an arm? She could see her love again!
She didn't even notice Yula's head, detached from the body, sitting mere feet away from her...(( I've been asked to make Bliss come back due to lack of people, so here she is! 8D;; ))

Siegell laughed as Adele took out her axe, and his hand slid up to the long shaft attached to his back. He pulled his glaive slowly, teasingly over his shoulder, dragging the flat of the steel across the whole, pure half of his face. "I'm ready to end this one way or another, Adele. But you're not catching me off my guard this time, my dear..." He turned his weapon suddenly and shot towards her, slashing in a wide horizontal arc, then brought his weapon smoothly around and slashed downward, forcing her to lunge back to avoid having herself laid open through the cleavage before he jumped back, swinging horizontally again to keep her at a distance.
His swings were smooth, almost slow, his smile fading to a relaxed, satisfied smirk. He had a firm grip, and the way his weapon moved was more graceful than she remembered, as if he was dancing with it. The tip of his blade drew the eye as it moved through the air, winding and twisting, as if chasing something that always, always evaded capture.
Adele's axe came down with a single powerful swing, and Siegell smoothly stepped aside, drawing his arm back and twisting his weapon in his hands. The blade turned upward, the pointed tip pointed at her exposed sternum as she leaned forward. He simply smiled and said nothing: what was there to say?
He leaned forward and thrust from the shoulder.
He simply stood there for a moment, watching blood leak through Adele's mail breastplate and onto the floor, holding the woman up by the very weapon on which she was impaled. His blade had entered her right breast, passed through her ribs, barely missed her solar plexus, punctured her lung, and entered her stomach. He shook his head as the blood seeped out between her lips, then kicked her axe aside and dragged his glaive out in one swift gesture.
He crouched and rolled her over, shaking his head again. "I hope I find your employers someday. I don't like being played for a fool." He sat after a moment, taking care to avoid the seeping blood on the floor, and propped her up in his arms. A piece of her sleeve was torn off, and he used it to wipe her lips.
He leaned close slowly, then began to softly murmur to her...
"In any case, since they're not here, and I never formally said this to you in the first place, you're fired." He patted her cheek. "You've got two weeks to clear out your carcass and leave, at which point I'll be happy to recommend you to future employers. Ta-ta." He set her back down, clucking his tongue as he picked up his glaive.
He did at least have the decency to wait until she was actually dead before rooting through her equipment for any axes he could use.
"Oh, Pietro?" he called, wandering out again into the center of the room. "I believe that's the end. Is there anyone unaccounted for?" he asked, turning to see the various competitors who had survived to reach this room. "Oh," he added softly, "The airhead's still alive, kudos to her." He turned, glaring up into the shadows. "Come on out, this place is dank and I'd really like to get out in the sun."
