Artemis trotted along, eyes shifting around suspiciously. 'Something's not right.' He thought to himself. His ears perked, and his nose twitched. "Blood?" He sniffed again to make sure.

Artemis was sure now that he smeeled blood, But where? He lifted his nose and sniffed. To the west. He picked up speed, and soon was dashing by trees and bushes.

Ashfur trotted along after them. She stopped a distance from the injured wolf as she scented bear. She put her nose to the ground and followed the scent into a bush and beyond. Her tail waving slowly in the air she followed her nose a ways off until she stumbled apon a black ball of fur. It growled at her and made a strange sound. It smelled of bear and she was curious. It was as big as a large older pup and made strange noises as it looked at her. she jumped back when it started to come toward her, standing on it's hind legs. Just then a bigger bear stood up a few yards behind it and roared. Ashfur let out a yelp of surprise and raced back to Fortuna and the others. She crouched down by her back paws, tail between her legs and belly touching the ground, trembling.

Ashfur quivered in fear as the big blach bear came towards them. It roared again and she sunk as close to the ground as she could. She couldn't take her eyes off of the massive hulking creature, never before had she seen anything so big.

Ignatius saw Ginger start to howl. It wasne't very loud, but it could help get more wolves. But he knew something about bears from his brother. If you see a bear that looks like its going to attack, make yourself seem small or play dead. "Ginger! Shhh! We are suppost to make ourselves seem small and dead. Then it might go away." Ignatius lay down and curled up his legs. He sat on his side and closed his eyes, hoping the others would copy him.

Ashfur heard what he said but was too terrified to move. she was frozen in the spot. when she realised this, it only added to her panic as the bear continued to get closer.

Fortuna spiked her fur up and made a long low rumbling growl that sounded like a motorcycle's purr. She faced the bear and directed her voice back to the pups without looking at them. "Stay back all of you, I can smell the bears won't go. It's Genshi and her son Rodevu. They are evil, stay back!" She circled with Rodevu since he was the in the clearing, Genshi was waiting, watching what she thought was another lesson in hunting and killing for him. The Rodevu lumbered in a lazy but aggressive circle with Fortuna. Tired of waiting Fortuna made the first move, she lay down rolling over onto her back, like a sign of giving up. Rodevu ran towards her and was about to stab her with his long claws when she rolled over quickly and attacked from the side, her fangs trying to find purchase in his thick fur.

Fortuna looked at the new wolf and dropped to the ground, letting go of the Rodevu. "There is another bigger bear, Genshi, she is hiding in the bush waiting to ambush us. I can take on her son, Rodevu!" She shouted out, trying to get her voice across over the roar of Rodevu.

Ignatius grabbed Ashfur by the scruff and pulled her to behind a large boulder. He did the same to Ginger. He woulsen't be able to help the injured wolf, but he walked over to the wolfs brother."Mabie we can try to get him to stand up." Ignatius was standing tall and tryed to look like he knew what he was doing. He didn't want to frighten the other pup. But they really needed to get out of the way.
