Gregory slipped out of his bed. He was quite busy being lazy. The light from outside made him squint as he headed down the stairs from his dorm room. The weather appeared to be snowy, but he could care less. The common room was oddly empty as he entered, and with a small sigh, he left through the portrait hole. "Curse my parents for leaving me in school while I could be having fun making my evil cousin's lives...well, miserable." he said with a slight scowl.

The entrance hall was fast approaching and he immediately wiped the scowl from his face. He had to, in case there were some students from the other houses. A cocky grin adorned his face as he entered the great hall. It was quickly replaced by a look of hunger. He rushed towards the Gryffindor table and immediately bit into some food. This food was much better than his mother's since he found his family had no talent in cooking at all. He peered around the great hall. He noticed he seemed to be the only Gryffindor there...go figure. He could see some Ravenclaws talking, and found himself staring. "Don't go starting trouble now Greg...it's the holidays remember..." he told himself. If the right time came, then he would certainly start...if the time came.

Candace: Candace decided that she no longer felt like playing in the snow. It was time that she ate. She stretched on her snow throne. I really don't feel like leaving, why should I go someplace where I am not treated like the queen I deserve to be? As if to answer her thoughts, her stomach growled. Candace rolled over, grumbling, and sauntered out of her palace, making her way up to the castle.

The warmth of the castle made her shiver slightly, which was odd. She shook herself, flinging any remnant of snow from her beautiful auburn coat. Damn, I'm beautiful. My fur is such a prize. She smirked, and continued on her way to the Great Hall. The smell of food made her even more hungry, and she realized she had barely eaten all day. She sighed, silently scolding herself.

As she stepped into the Great Hall, Candace quickly glanced around the room. Hector was sitting in a far corner with some random first year; stupid Ravenclaws. There was a Gryffindor in there, she recognized him. He was a cocky fellow that thought he was all that. Candace turned up her nose. Hmph. As if, he's no where near good enough for me. The filthy Gryffindor that he is.

What to do, harass Hector or the Gryffindor.. I wonder...

Hector: Hector glanced up in time to see Candace walk into the Great Hall. He groaned slightly. She was one person he did not want to deal with right now. With so few students, it was obvious that she'd seen him. As his luck had it, a Gryffindor was also in the Great Hall. Perhaps she would harass the Gryffindor instead of Hector. One could only hope.

Hector moved to the side slightly, attempting to hide himself in the tree. Perhaps if he made himself smaller, and less visible, she would just ignore him. That would make his day better. He glanced at Terryn, wondering if he noticed his strange behavior.

The food was the best he had ever had. Just as he was about to bite into his cookie, the doors caught his attention. It was a Slytherin. Rolling his eyes, he turned his attention over to the Ravenclaws. One appeared to be hiding. "Wow...normal was never common, but I'm apparently stuck with the weird of the weird..." he groaned quietly. He had no intentions of causing any problems with the Ravenclaws. So, instead of saying something utterly stupid, he managed to give the Slytherin a small scowl. Then it clicked.

"Well it looks like the princess has arrived...or so it thinks." said Gregory loud enough for her to hear him. A rude smirk spread across his face, although he only wished he could stop walking into trouble...she was a Slytherin though. She appeared to be the self centered type, but he knew looks could be deceiving. He just couldn't help himself. He bit into his cookie, trying to decide where to turn his attention. If the Slytherin said something to the Ravenclaws, he would simply put his two sense in and be done with it. Besides, they were in fact, a house he could actually get along with if he really wanted to.

Candace: Candance twitched her ear; the arrogant Gryffindor spoke and it seemed to be addressing her, in some manner. She glanced at him. His coat was very dark, and almost appeared green. It was a pity he hadn't been in Slytherin. The two of them may have gotten along quite well if he had.

But that was besides the point.

Candace put on a flattered smile as she glanced at the Gryffindor. "Really? Me a princess? You're too kind," she cooed, her smile growing larger. "I'd always thought that I deserved royal treatment, but I figured it was just a silly girls fantasy. If, however, you believe me to be a princess, I suppose you could have a spot under me. I think stable cleaner suits you well."

Terryn shook his head, "That's okay. I'm sure I can find something." He smiled, glad to have found something to do. "That might be cool, for about five minutes. Snow's supposed to melt. Who wants snow around all the time?" A shudder ran through him, it was too cold for snow in the winter time let alone having it around year round. When next he looked up at Hector, the older Ravenclaw looked like he was trying to hide. Tilting his head to the side he looked curious. "Are you okay?"

Hector: "Yeah, I'm.. fine," Hector replied, a bit hesitantly. He was still trying to shove himself into the tree. "There's just some one who doesn't particularly like me. I'd prefer to avoid her seeing me, but I don't think that's possible..." he trailed off. He continued to watch Candace, until he heard the Gryffindor speak up.

"Oh," he said. "Well, that takes care of that. I'm sure she'll harass that Gryffindor and leave me alone." Hector smiled a bit, then glanced at the Gryffindor. His smile faded a bit, he did feel kind of bad for him. Candace could be rather cruel at times, and physically violent rather often.

Gregory took a large bite from his cookie and peered back at her, swallowing his food quickly. The same arrogant smile showed itself once more. "Oh that's fantastic. I've always wanted to work with horses in a stable. Then maybe one day I'd take off with them all, leaving ya stranded." he retorted. He peered over at the Ravenclaw table, smirking. "What shall I call you your highness?" he snickered, sarcasm dripping in his voice. "Princess Slytheringrate, perhaps?" He turned around completely, leaning slightly on the table.

Messing with Slytherins was always fun...

Candace: Candace followed his gaze to the Ravenclaw table, where she laid eyes on Hector again.

"Oh dear me, don't tell me your enamored with the little Ravenclaws? Are you putting on this big macho act to impress them?" She feigned shock, then turned her tone to pity. "You poor dear, I'm afraid you're a bit too late. You see, darling Hector already has a boyfriend, perhaps two. Who can keep count? He also has a little girlfriend as well," she sighed dramatically, and shook her head. "I'm afraid you're just too late to win his heart, no matter who you insult."

She glanced at Hector briefly, a triumphant smirk on her face. Then she turned back to Gregory, her arrogant smile returning. "Not that you could ever hope to insult me. I'm so out of your league, we're not even playing the same sport. Maybe if your weren't such a.. Gryffindor," saying the word as though it were tainted. "You might have stood a chance with me. Too bad, how sad."

With that, she turned and walked away, her tail flicking gracefully behind her so that it caught the candlelight perfectly. She was a vision if she did say so herself, and she did. She made a quick round through the food, grabbing a small slice of apple pie, and an assortment of fruit. Healthy and delicious, they kept her thin and fit and kept her coat shiny and healthy. Taking her food with her, Candace found a spot far from the Ravenclaws and the Gryffindor, and curled up on a seat with her tail around her.

Hector: Hector sunk into his seat with every word Candace said, his face turning redder by the second. He, of course, knew exactly what and who she was talking about. As to whether or not anyone else would know, that didn't quite matter. The last thing he needed were rumors circulating that he was gay, dating several men, and fooling around with a girl.

Hector groaned, his face now a bright enough red to rival Candace's fur tone. He just slunk deeper and deeper into the tree, hoping if he disappeared it would all stop.

Gregory merely laughed. "You think I'm...no no no. Youve read me all wrong and besides...who says I'd wanna be with Miss Blarg anyway." he said rolling his eyes. Oh words...they could hurt or amuse. The way Gregory's brain worked, that meant amusement. "See ya around...not." He turned his attention back to his food and licked his lips. The fact that Slytherins ruined his meal could be a regular problem. Slowly he stood up, heading over to the Ravenclaw table.

"Don't let her bother you...you are who you are..." he said simply. He glanced back at the Slytherin girl and shook his head, again, he caught himself staring. "I'm Gregory...if ya ever need anything...you know where I am..." He nodded towards the Gryffindor table. He looked at the first year, another rude smirk spreading across his face.

Hector: Hector blinked, severely confused by the Gryffindor named Gregory.

"..I'm not gay," he mumbled, almost seeming embarrassed by the fact that he was notgay. "She doesn't really bother me, I suppose. She's just.. mean... I'm used to it by now, but I really wish she wouldn't shout my personal life to the whole Great Hall."

He sighed slightly, with relief. I'm just glad Fait wasn't here, that could have made things more awkward than they already are.

"Oh," he said, just remembering something. "My name's Hector." He said, looking as though he were shocked he hadn't introduced himself sooner.

Gregory stared at him for a moment, and shook his head. "It's okay. I mean...it's just you. Really, there's no need for name calling on it's part." he said grinning. He could honestly consider every Slytherin an inanimate object. "Mean? You call that mean?" he said nodding back to the Slytherin. "I've seen meaner things under my bed than her. She's nothing." He laughed. It was true, there were plenty of things worse than her and he could probably name one hundred right off the bat, but being who he was...he personally didn't feel like it.

His name was Hector? Who knew? "Well then Hector, if she causes ya anymore grief, then I'll be here." Arguing was one of his main ways of getting to people and he hoped that one day he could aggravate that Slytherin creature. At this point he didn't know where to go. Should he sit down uninvited with the Ravenclaw he just randomly met or should he go back to his delicious food. "Well then...I'll just make myself at home." he said plopping down on a chair seat to Hector's left. "Hmm...nice view of this tree there pal." He eyed the tree and peered over at the Slytherin table, a malicious smirk spreading across his face. "Why don't we get a little payback? You know, play a prank so epic, it'll make her think twice about messing with you." he suggested, but being sensible young Ravenclaws, he knew there was a chance he would be doing this alone.

Hector: Hector wrinkled his nose slightly, the very idea of revenge being distasteful to him.
"No, I couldn't. She may feel the need to act coldly towards me, but I certainly hold no grudge against her. She will be as she is, and there is not much I can hope to do about that," he explained, and sighed. He really did wish she would just get over it and leave him be, but that wasn't likely to happen. He glanced warily at the Gryffindor.

"I do advise that you also leave her be. She may not seem like much now, but she is very vindictive. When she decides to make some one miserable, she will go to all sorts of lengths to ensure their misery. I have dealt with her for many years, and learned it's best just to let her do what she will."

Besides, it's not like she'd listen to what any one said to her. And getting revenge on her would just make her want to try all the harder. He frowned slightly, wondering why Candace was such an unhappy creature.

Gregory's eyes widened. Yet, he knew the Ravenclaw prototype all too well. They were smart, proper and rule abiding. Yuck. Coldly didn't seem to be the correct word choice. A good word would be...harsh. He peered over at the Slytherin. Why would they want to mess around with a house that generally liked to stay out of the other houses' problems? He shrugged and peered at Hector. "You're advising me to leave her alone?" he replied with a laugh. "Yeah like that'll happen. Anyway...if I can get her to be angry with me, then you just may be out of her vision for awhile." At times, he could be like a persistent salesman. No just wasn't the answer he was looking for.

"So, why are you guys still here?" Gregory asked in an attempt to change the subject. Even if it was none of his business, he felt that he was making this Ravenclaw uncomfortable. Hey, at least he was trying to be friendly.
