"It's very nice to meet you, Azumi," Dani says cheerfully, quickly stepping away from the wall, eyeing it cautiously as though fully expecting something to spring out at them now. "If something jumps out, I may well jump out of my fur," she mutters under her breath.
"...wait, graveyard?" Dani asks, taking another look around. "I don't trust graveyards. You know. Ghosts and all."

"Oh, you have got to be kidding me." A voice muttered from behind D-chan and Mist, following a yelp and the skittering of rocks underfoot as the owner stubbed a toe in the darkness. Anyone able to make out the silhouette in the shadows would have seen a slender young woman, though her dark blue hair and green eyes were obscured save the reflected gleam of the candles up ahead on the lenses of her spectacles. "Damnit, if that letter had to burn, why couldn't it have done it slow enough to use as a torch?"

Dani jumps, whirling to face the young woman that appears from out of the darkness of the passageway. "Oh, good," she sighs, realizing that it is just another invited guest. "For a moment I thought you were a ghost," she chuckles weakly. "Are you all right? It is remarkably dark...kinda dangerous. I take it you're as clueless as we are?"
She's tempted to say 'in the dark,' but even she know better than to make bad jokes in this situation.
"I'm Dani," she adds. "Who might you be?"

Azumi took the other woman's hand and shook it as well while hearing and recording the name into her memory," it's very nice to meet you Mist-" she was cut short and shot a good foot into the air as she heard the random muttering voice somewhere behind D-chan. God the werewolf was jumpy today.
Azumi settled down some after seeing it was another person just as lost as they were and lowered her hand. She made a sheepish bow to this new woman before flicking an ear and saying, "thought you were a ghost as well, sorry." Wine hued eyes studied each of these new aquaintences from behind the lenses of her own glasses.

Jumping as she heard the voices, the young woman looked up and grinned sheepishly. "Hi - I'm Rune, Rune Traverse." She waved, then put her hand down, realizing how dumb it was to wave when no one could see it. "Yup, I'm lost. Got a letter in the mail, so I left my kids with the rest of the family and headed here. Just in time for the letter to torch itself."
She fell quiet for a moment, realizing she was rambling. Then, holding up a hand, she flicked her wrist experimentally. "I don't even know if my magic works in this place."
(Would mage-energy work in this place? *doesn't know* Rune can make a blue glow in her hand usually.)

"Nice to meet you, Rune," Dani chuckles. "I hope you left the kids in good hands...who knows how long we'll be down here," she mutters. "Personally, no matter how bad this looks right now, it's a relief to be here. First time out of the...guest room in a month."
She watches as Rune flicks her wrist; the mention of magic reminds her of the slender wand strapped to her upper arm. "Tell you this much: what little magic I could pull off around here wouldn't be of any use," she mutters. "Good luck with it, though. It might help."

(( Since I'm mildly confused at the moment after the reading the posts ( I think you're in the cavern, but when you mention not seeing then I think you're in the HQ ) -- magic would work in the HQ and probably in the cavern, though it's very much use at your own risk. Besides, it's more a catacomb than a graveyard.
(( However, if you're in the cavern / catacomb, light isn't necessary. There's several candles everywhere floating about and hanging and the like -- they're illuminating the place. If you're still up in the HQ, that place is pitch black and would call for light, XD. :: Drags self to reply in a moment. :: ))

Raife squinted around in the darkness of the HQ, stumbling a bit over in desire to be inside, and rather, find the couches. She couldn't find the light. She couldn't find anything. Thankfully, the little boy was still stuck to her leg like a burr, as they moved in tandem. She squinted a bit into the darkness, trying to get her bearings and nightvision. She could hear voices, where were they all? Was it some sort of surprise party for something she couldn't imagine?
"Not funny, Aki...Not funny..." She called out into the darkness. If it WAS some sort of trick, the elf and her mischief incarnate boy had to be at the forefront of it. As she swivelled a bit, she noted a tiny light, seeming so far away...and as she moved towards it, winding her way throughout the HQ, the voices got louder, and suddenly, she was in a part of the headquarters she'd DEFINITELY never been in before. First she saw one candle, then another, then a whole slew of candles and a whole slew of people. Halleluiah, she'd found life!

Wren had gone silent for a bit, moving about the illuminated area and eventually peering at what looked to be a cross mounted on a stone coffine. There were similar ones everywhere and he figured if he checked along the walls, there'd probably be some there too.
"... I think it's a catacomb. Somewhere for people to put their dead," he finally spoke to Levi, twisting his head about to see that there were all ready other people coming in. "Though, um, looks like it's done up for a party." He was tempted to go poke at the decorations on the tables set out, but it was what was beyond that that really had his attention.
Lafe, meanwhile, had managed to make it into the cavern that lead to the catacombs. That was, however, about as far as he got before other people started to trail in and he found himself pressed up against the nearest wall, unable to locate his quarry. A few people he knew was all right -- but these were all people he did not know and then there were the brief flashes of feelings that weren't his own and he could not push away.
It was overwhelming, the feelings he felt from his empathy and all the sudden people. He started to back up, not paying attention to where he was going, and meant to get somewhere that he could take a moment to breath and not totally bolt.

(Ahhh! *had misread the earlier posts* Now that makes more sense. *snugs Azure* Thanks! In that case - assume Rune has just gone from the HQ into the cavern with D-chan and Mist, and figures the candles might go out.)
Seeing the candles, Rune lowered her hand and shook her head, grateful. "Think I'll save the magic 'til we need it." She commented wryly, looking around. "This place is incredible. I've never been to a headquarters like this before."

"Cakacomb?"
Pausing, still holding the babe awkwardly, Levi twisted around to stare back down the corridor. Was that Aki's voice?! No, Aki wouldn't be calling her own name...it was someone else! Someone...familiar!
He almost dropped Ink then and there. "Raife? MIK?!" Grinning widely, blinking back into the darkness, Levi shifted his weight from foot to foot. Leaning forward to whisper excitedly to Ink, he shifted the babe to be able to see the silhouettes in the hall. "S'Mik! M'best mate!"
Around him, the candles shone with the same eerie light, illuminating his face with an odd backlit glow. The statue rose behind him in the darkness, many feet away...perhaps from the perspective of the hall, the wings would seem to be rising from his very silhouette. Levi was far too excited to think of such things, glancing around to find a place among the kittens or potential foxlings to set down the child in his arms. Hmm? Where had they all gone? He'd forgotten all about the tiny colorful pet, too overwhelmed by the weird circumstances that surrounded them.
"Whas all this, eh?" Maybe Raife would have the answers! If not, surely Wren...

As Raife and Mikhael made their way forward -Mikhael torn between being less clingy because of the light and more clingy because of the life- weaving their way through the occassional person, and trying to find someone they knew, a flash of fur darted past their legs. Mikhael blinked startledly at the fleeting feel of fur swiping across his arm as Lafe darted past. What had that been? What kind of weird things were in this cavern? He looked up at Raife uncertainly and tugged on her pant leg. Cocking her head lightly, she looked down.
"What's wrong, sweetheart? Scared?" She crouched next to him but he shook her head and tried to articulate what he felt with a flurry of hand movements. She sighed and stood back up, keeping her hand on his head to keep him close. Whatever was going on, they were needed here.

Rune blinked, looking around her again. Now that she could see, she realized she was in a catacomb of some kind, filled with various people. Her eyes fell on Raife and Mikhael, and a flash of sympathy for the child flicked across her face. Carefully she wove her way through the people until she was near enough to speak softly.
"Hello - is he alright?"
