Hi, I'm Adam and I've had photography in my life since I was born since my parents were photographers, but I recently wanted to pursue it as a career a few years ago when I took a class on it. I fell in love with the art and have been exploring it ever since.
My technique level isn't where it could be, but my creativity makes up for it since I have a lot of ideas. I just need guidance so I can learn the techniques to achieve the desired photo.
Glad to be apart of the guild so I can learn and teach some new skills ^^

Yay! : D
Nice to meet you all. My name is Dom, I'm 23, and I'm currently studying Professional Photography as a foundation degree. I've been interested in photography for a few years, though it has been in my family for longer.
I hope to "go pro" one day, so I'd love to share experience here. I'd call myself an amateur rather than a hobbyist. I'm interested in darker/gothic portraits, and do love to edit the crap out of things in photoshop, if I'm experimenting.
I usually have a bit of a reluctance to share my work, so hopefully I can improve on that here.
Regards,
Dom Malice

Ello Hello. I am The_Wizard. Torontonian. Canadian. Early twenties. Male. Read books on Photography, no formal training or classes. Don't have a SLR, digital or otherwise but I can still take some decent shots. A few of my old (read: three year old) shots I did with a point and shoot 7MP digital camera: http://The-Broken-Abyss.deviantart.com/art/Mushrooms-59673999 http://The-Broken-Abyss.deviantart.com/art/Bee-in-Flower-61440828 http://The-Broken-Abyss.deviantart.com/art/The-night-path-62531059 http://The-Broken-Abyss.deviantart.com/art/Bee-on-Flower-61444172 I'm still using the same camera today. Haven't updated my deviantArt gallery since January, but I just ordered a Gakkenflex 35mm TLR Camera so that's sure to change.

Hey biggrin My name's Emily but I prefer Em or Frank (long story short, my friends at school are pretty awesome biggrin ). I live in Australia and have been interested in photography for about ... 12 months give or take smile I did a photography course at school last semester but I don't feel like I learnt anything much aside from composing an image and how to use some basic tools on Photoshop.
I'm pretty looking to learn new techniques and to get some critique for my work as well as make some friends I guess smile So yeah.. Hope everyone has a good day heart Em

Hey, my name's Natalie! I took a photography class in the Spring and I did truly learn a lot. From that class, I've learned several techniques and how establish a love for many different types of photography. However, there of course are more things I still need to learn, so I'm hoping to both learn and teach with the knowledge I have acquired. I was borrowing a camera from the class that I was taking, though now that it's over I'm currently saving for a descent camera (any recommendations of what I should look to get would be great!). It's great to be apart of this guild and to meet everyone! biggrin

Hi guys ^_________^ I'm Christian, just a freelance photographer based in the Philippines. I'm old.. T crying T .. will be 27 already.. xp xp Been here in GaiaOnline since 2005 though not that active until zOMG! kept me stuck to this site. I got no formal photography education but was privileged enough to know a lot of professional photographers at a young age especially photojournalist since I belong to the local art guild. Learned film photography from a hobbyist dad and got the gist of photojourn over coffee with old local photojournalists. Currently pursuing a life of a visual artist but ended up holding a camera for good. Currently doing freelance stuffs for newspapers and local magazines, but an avid street photographer and pretty much into lomography. Part of the circle that founded our local lomography group, and I belong to a few organizations in photography as well. Been doing a few photo exhibitions aside from paintings and drawings. An avid Canon fan and anything film and lomo. XD XD XD I have my own photoblog http://iloilounderground.com which I just recently started. and I do have various online galleries http://vans3n.deviantart.comhttp://www.flickr.com/photos/vans3nhttp://www.picturesocial.com/profile/vans3nhttp://www.lomography.com/homes/vansenhttp://www.spraygraphic.com/vans3nI don't really claim to be professional as a photographer. Whether people will pay me or not.. I would still love to bring my cameras and shoot any event or just randomly shoot. Never leave home w/o a camera and would be happy to waste film on anything. Been looking for a good photo guild here for quite some time. Anyways, hope to really enjoy being here. ^_______________________^

I'm sorry for ignoring this guild for so long! eek I've been an absolute slacker in my welcomes!! Here comes a stack of em!!!
Azrhia, welcome! Haa nice tattoo! Another adult, cool! I'm 32 4laugh
Starship, Wouldn't it be great to have a studio!! I'm just starting in portraiture myself!
Rhiannon, you must be a very nurturing & kind person. smile I bet their photos would be interesting! I've always loved history ... as long as it wasn't taught all names & dates. I especially love learning about ancient civilizations ^_^
Jordan, If you'd like, you can post what the model is and I can tell you about it smile I used to sell cameras so I know what I'm looking at on the tech-spec sites. Anyway, welcome to the world of photography! Feel free to ask questons; Gotta hone your art somehow!
Tae, It's great that you're getting in so early! You should see if your friends would pose for you! Teens usually love posing for fashion! Shoot for your dreams! There are plenty of openings if you market yourself well and have taken classes to better your art! A large part of photography is the talent but there's a science to composition that can be taught that Will make your photos better too.
Erin/Scarlet, can't wait to see your photos! I love concert photography though I've never tried to shoot it! I bet it's rough getting a good shot with all that action and low lighting!!
GeezerNERD, you're a very multitalented young lady! I'd love to see your photos and maybe some of your other art too?!
Phillip/Cupcake, I hope we can share our knowledge with you!
Ryan/Chromo, just starting out, FUN! Photoshop is massive! I learned everything I know (on the topic) from photoshop dedicated magazines and playing around with it - messing with all the filters. First thing I'd suggest is always work in layers wink
Jessica/Baroque, we all had to learn. Changing the aperture (f stop), shutter speed, white balance and other manual things are easy enough to learn how to adjust ... the rough part is learning when you should adjust them, and why! Big Fstop number will give you a very deep focus range around your main subject but there's a small opening for light to get in so the shutter speeds will have to be longer. EG: shallow: Deep:
Adam/Chromeo, That's gotta be cool to have photographer parents to learn from (and possibly borrow gear from ~ woo!) I hope you'll learn a lot from us!
Dom, I look forward to bringing you out of your shy little shell smile I always keep my critiques constructive.
Wizard, those are some lovely photos! Feel free to keep sharing over in the "post your pics" subforum! ^_^ Grats on the new camera!
Cre8ive/Em, We're willing to share our knowledge, feel free to pick our brains!
Vamp/Natalie, I'm sure we can give our opinions on what camera you should get and we'll do our best to share our knowledge!
Vans/Christian, OMG you're fantastic!!! I'm humbled! Your work is GREAT!!
Jessica, thanks for joining! there's plenty to learn, I hope we can help!
Trock, I think we're sleeping ^_^ I know I've been lazy about it
I think that's everybody! Nice to meet you allllll! I check my PMs just about daily if you wanna chat, I live online and I keep my Gaia chat open most of the time. Also I play a fair bit of ZOMG so if you wanna crew, I'm your girl!

Hey there! My name is Xandine, I'm from Canada. YES, it is Cold enough razz
I've been interested in Photography for pretty much all my life, though I've never taken any courses in it. I actually just got my first digital SLR camera over the holidays and I'm desperately trying to figure out what all the fancy Nobles and Buttons do.
I suppose the reason I joined this guild is so that I can do just that. Figure out the fancy Nobles and Buttons. I pretty much just want to learn as much about photography as possible, and in the mean time, maybe make a few new friends along the way xD
