Haucon lazily shouldered his through the crowd. Ordinarily this was easier as he was usually on horseback, and people have a tendency to quickly get out of the way of large four legged beasts with sharp hooves and broad shoulders. Without the horses he was having slightly more difficulty. He was of an average height and build which gave him none of the advantages awarded to those of either of the extremes in size.
He decided to stop in to the blacksmiths on his way to the center of town, to see if he couldn't make an appointment for one of his horse's who had slipped a shoe. As he was lumbering towards the edge of the crowd he accidentally trod on the feet of a blushing and green hair young man of roughly his age. A closer look revealed the ears of an elf, and he apologized quickly.

From all her visits to the apothecary, Shizuru noticed that Aidan never really spoke that much. When her supplies were in demand, it was no wonder that Aidan didn't want to speak.
"Thirty." Shizuru knew she was going to need quite a few. The last time the festival happened, there were people piling up on her door and all over her office.Oh, shoot. How am I going to carry 30? I only have my bag...

Aidan's eyes grew a bit wide at the amount, but she showed no other signs of shock. "No problem." Her tone was light, and easy as she made her way down from the ladder. "It will be just a moment." She walked over to her counter, extracting from below it a good sized wooden box, while thinking to herself, "Thirty...? That will just about clean out my stock... Ah well, as long as it's put to good use..." Carrying the box back over to the ladder with her, Aidan set it down on the floor next to her. The box was lined with burlap and bits of brown cotton which would be used as padding for the delicate glass bottles. It took only a few minutes for her to bring down the entire stock that was currently shelved. Tucking a bit of hair behind one pointed ear, the Elf addressed the doctor. "I'll have to get the rest from my back room. Please feel free to browse while I do." Turning on her heel, the young female disappeared behind the black curtain and opened the door beneath the stairs that led into her tiny storage room.

"Mmm.... hmm...." Kino would merrily march through the town of Chronopolis, eyes shut while happily licking on strawberry ice cream, completely changed compared to his former skeptical self who'd simply poked this newly discovered snack to himself. "Indeed that man is a genius to create such a delicious and nutritious ... umm....?" Kino came to a sudden pause, stopping in his tracks to become lost in thought, motioning questioningly with one his right index finger pressed against the lips. "Magical ice?" He'd simply shrug without care and once more advance forward in the same manner as before only to accidentally bump into a large man, standing over seven foot tall with a bulky build. Kino's unexpected encounter lead him to fall backwards into a quiet thud, he'd know evaluate the situation. Eyes lifted from the turning feet of the man in front of him, up towards the back of the neck where his stick of ice cream stuck persistently, and lastly narrowing to the turning head, in which both individuals would meet in an awkward stare towards one-another.

Haucon reached down to help the surprised elf up to his feet. "Sorry about that." he said rubbing the back of his head in embarrassment. "I'll have to be more careful in the future. Are you alright?" he added with a look of concern. He took the man by the arm and led him out of the way of traffic, so as to prevent further mishaps. ((Short sorry guys))

"Ah, um." His response was cut short as now the stranger would assist him from the floor. "Thank you." After reaching a stand and being lead, he'd motion courteously. "I'm fine. However.... I can't shake the feeling I'm forgetting something." Kino's then struck a pose, lost in thought in a questioning manner. "But what could it be?" Both eyes kept their locking gaze into the random stranger, with a clueless stare.

((Don't take this the wrong way but in my mind your character reminds me of Jareth from Labyrinth. <3 David Bowie!))
Haucon raised an eyebrow as the elf locked his gaze. "Well, I'm glad to hear you're alright," he said very slowly, then added "Though I have no idea what you may have forgotten..." He crossed his arms across his chest, still not breaking eye contact.

Thirty was a pretty big number. Shizuru nodded. "Thanks." She took the elf's offer to look around the shop. Being a regular customer, Shizuru knew that Aidan kept the more dangerous potions inside. The ones outside were the common ones. There were many different bottles each labelled carefully. As the doctor browsed the bottles, she even noticed something like a love potion in the bottle ranks. Uh, well, that's interesting.
Her eyes could have been playing tricks on her, for all she knew. She didn't believe in love potions. If people got drunk enough, they'd be enamored enough to appear like they drank love potions. Too bad it didn't last.
Dr. Watanabe doubted she needed any other potions. The sleep inducing potions were definitely enough to put any trouble to sleep. And if it didn't, a frying pan or hammer would be in order at her office.

((Well, I was looking for somewhere to fit in, but alack! ‘Twould seem as though you have things pretty tidy… which I’m about to mess up. biggrin This post can take place anywhere it’s crowded, so please someone just “pick me up”. smile Thanks! Salut to all as well.))
Ah, the day of the Festival. Marvelous. All those hardworking gentlemen would be out in the streets, spending their hard-earned money. On her services? Maybe. It really didn’t matter to her. Just so long as they were out, where she could see them. You see, Lenore was more than an extremely expensive whore. And while, in fact, her entire being revolved around this “trade” of sorts, it was more to her than any other prostitute in the entire city of Chronopolis. To Lenore, whoring was more than a livelihood, it was her lifeblood. As a Succubus Demon, her existence was filled with searching for ways to satiate her… unnatural lusts.
But as a demon in a city full of easily frightened cattle, Lenore had to take certain… precautions. Today, she had resigned to wearing a cloak made of a very fine red velvet. Its purpose was to cover her back where her wings were tightly furled. As an extra precaution, she also wore a draping shirt of an ethereal, crimson-dyed silk which also covered the offending appendages.
However, all this covering of her back did nothing whatsoever to hide her front. Her blouse was extremely low-cut and revealing. Her skirt, or perhaps lack thereof, was really more of a thong with flowing ribbons of matching color reaching down to the ground and playfully tossing in the wind.
Lenore stood out like a firebird among drab sparrows. Her long golden hair shone brilliantly, as one would imagine and angel’s might. Her smile was alluring, inviting, and utterly enchanting. Where e’er she walked, heads turned seemingly without the will of their owners.
Oh, she enjoyed this. It wasn’t often she walked the streets so openly. Indeed, she was forced to keep her eyes slitted in order to see in the bright sunlight. But no matter, Lenore had more pressing thoughts on her mind. Hm… like finding if where and when the next competition would begin. Perhaps the winner wouldn’t be cow-faced and might demonstrate some skill which would impress her and gain her malicious attentions.

((Sorry Scythe...work tried it's hardest to eat me alive this week!))
It took Azhure a moment to catch up to the abrupt change in topic but she considered it very welcome. This was more in line with conversations she was used to having the various lords (and occasional ladies) who had employed her. "Azhure, sir. I'm a..." she hesitated for a moment. Not everyone looked kindly on mercenaries but she had a feeling that is was best to tell the truth to Lord Thomas and continued, "...mercenary. Though I have been hired to take on some of these demons that have been appearing lately." She wondered why had she told him that part about the demons, she mentally shrugged at herself about it. It didn't matter, it was true, and had in fact been a slightly larger portion of her employment lately.

((It's alright, Cat.
ANNOUNCEMENT: Next post will be the opening ceremony. I've dragged this on long enough. ...hah.))
Thomas nodded as if acknowledging the blonde halfing's response, making no comment on Azhure's hesitation. "Mercenary, you say?" Or more specifically 'demon hunter', she declares. He nodded again. "I see. Though if you must know, demons aren't quite the same level of problem here as elsewhere. It would make do if you were to find another backup occupation."
The words had just spilled out of the lord's mouth. Raising an eyebrow, he sighed softly. There weren't many demon hunters in Chronopolis. As for demons, he was in no position to speak on the topic, and he didn't intend to.
Alas, this conversation was to be stunted soon as they had arrived close enough to the town square that Thomas was going to have to move. First, he had already delayed the town enough. Second, the High Guard Captain had spotted him. Apparently the good-hearted captain hadn't tarried too long with the farmhand in the outskirts of town.
By now, the whole area was packed with people and noise.

((I have no excuses. redface I just kinda went blank.... sweatdrop ))
"OWIE! HOT!" The yell brought Shravra back to the world around him as he spun on the spot, looking for whoever had cried out. Spotting the young girl form that morning holding a bright red hand and some metal sitting in front of her, he quickly put two and two together before grabbing a cream for burns and blisters. "Let's see then." Carefully Shravra prised open Forest's hand to look at the damage. A large red welt had rose across her palm and fingertips. Squeezing the last of the cream onto her hand he reached over for some bandages. "Rub that in slowly. It'll numb the pain and speed up healing. Once you're done I'll put some bandages over them to prevent infection." Picking up the horse-shoe in his gloved hand Shravra dunked it into a bucket of water before placing it in a box labeled Haucon Jonas.

Face impassive behind his hood, Ian's voice was friendly. "Well then Cassie, shall we leave for the festivities before that happens. The opening seremony should be in a few momens. Why don't we go see that. Waving a goodbye to the old captain, Ian offered his arm in the classic gentleman pose which was spoiled a bit by the bow pointing up from his back.

As Shizuru browsed the shelves, out of the corner of her eye, she noticed a scantily clad woman in the crowd rushing by to the town square. The only reason she noticed was because it reminded her of Cassie's attire, only.. maybe worse. The woman's back, on the other hand, looked pretty covered. The front was... bad.
The doctor sighed and turned back to the potion shop. She'd be lucky if she got a break today. But, she was going to make a break for herself so she could at least eat and enjoy part of the festival.
((Hi, Articx! Uh, happened to me too... when I have no idea what to post! O_O; I don't think my character is going to be doing any of the competitions, so... I know I'm going to run out of ideas.))
