Even though her wound healed, she still lost quite a bit of blood, causing her to hang on the borders of conciseness. When they began to move, she mumbled to Strider, "No... Wait... Do not... Leave him... Take him... With us... P-please..." Using the last bit of her energy making this plea to him, she passed out, head falling onto his shoulder.

Skollozeir slowed to a stop, about 15 or 20 feet away from Wraitholme's outer walls. There were only two ways out of the city. The second entrance, and the way that led through and out of the catacombs. From where he had stopped, he could easily see the proper way out, although the big wooden gates were closed. And not too far from him, and the slope of the hill, was where the entrance priests used to take when they were bringing their dead to bury in the underground area. He didn't know which way the group was going to go, but he decided that where he was standing, he'd be able to see them when they emerged. And above all his assumptions, he could sense the aura of the group, now that they were getting closer.
Oliver had his other hand, the one that wasn't holding the now bloodstained cloth, on Gue's back. He slipped off and to the panther's surprise, made his way over to the unconscious man. He used the cloth he'd used to wipe the man's forehead off, the symbol was starting to fade. "Gue, come over here." Oliver waited patiently as the panther obeyed. "I'll explain later. Help me put him on your back." Gue gave a confused growl, nudging him on the shoulder. "Whoever this person is, that woman, by the sound of her voice, wants to take him with her. And he needs help. Then we can follow the other two, wherever they went, that is." Gue had no choice but to comply and allowed Oliver to roll the unconscious man on his back. He wasn't all that heavy to the panther, it was easy to move with him. Then Oliver put one hand on the panther's side, and they quickly followed the other man that had taken the woman deeper into the undead city.

Strider wasn't able to carry two people unfortunately and was glad the two new companions got him. He felt the evil presence stop and had guessed he was waiting. Strider decided he would try to trick the persuers. He was going deep into the catacombs. He knew of two well known ways out. The priest's exit and the front gate but there was another way out. Very dark, very secret, and very dangerous. There was a tunnel that was in the catacombs that not even the wraithes and liches go to. In older days they came to fear it and therefore forgot it existed as time grew on. Now few remembered it. Those who do don't dare to use it. For in this tunnel slept a hungering darkness. None know what it is because all those who did were killed by it. Strider saw it as their only way. They were carrying wounded and a fight would be disasterous. He had to take the chance. "I don't ask you to follow me to where I am going. It is an old and very dangerous way out. Though there is an old priests exit on the next left that is not the way I am going. I am going into the Deamrit Maze. A maze of tunnels and bends. I don't suggest you go through there with a small child." Strider had called back to the panther.

Skollozeir put his hands on his hips and gave a small huff of annoyance, glancing to look at Noreen. Then he tromped back the hill to where she'd stopped halfway down. "Norie, did your brain freeze up?" He knocked his fist against his lightly in imitation. "Or wha--?" The onyx slab in his hand suddenly grew cold. It was back. "Master!" He exclaimed gleefully, holding the orck up to his eyes. It, not a 'he', had been the one who told him to join up with Desdion. And It had also been the one to tell him he was a god. They're moving... a deep voice came into his head. "Yes, I know--" He began to explain out loud. But a different way... "How--?" They'll exit about 3 or so miles away. "But--?" He realized that It had never told him the specifics of anything, so why now? Do not question me, Skollozeir! Never question me! Or, do you already forget who steered you right when you were wrong? "I..." He sighed, confused but slightly understanding. It had never told him anything specific before. "No, I undertsand." Then he said to Noreen. "Follow me!" He started to dart off past her.
Gue gave a loud, menacing growl when the man carrying the woman said that it was dangerous to take a small child deeper. Oliver gave a rueful smile and patted the over-protective panther on the head. Then he addressed the man that he couldn't see, but judging from where his voice was coming from, was a little way ahead of him. "It's fine. I can make my way around in darkness well enough. It and evil don't bother me." He started to walk forward, and Gue gently moved him around a rock jutting from the ground so he wouldn't trip. "After all, how could a boy of 12 have made his way to this place to begin with, even with a panther friend? Where the undead would have surely taken him, or hurt him?" Gue stopped him when they were a foot away from the man. "Just lead, and I'll follow." He gave another smile, then tended to the unconcious man on Gue's back with his cloth.

Strider suddenly realized it was dark. His shades gave him the ability to see clearly in the dark. He drew out his twin wolf staff and tapped it on the ground loudly making the small red crystal the wolf's were holding light up. He cursed himself. He had not wished to make any noise. Strider began to go in the direction he knew led to the Deamrit Maze. Straight ahead. "I warn you though, the evil inside this maze is such a fearsome creature that even the dead fear it's power. I have never gone this way but i was able to procure a map some millenia ago when it was built. It was made to keep those trying to follow the escape of the king from following. It was meant as an escape for the royal family and priests. I do not know what the creature living there is but the people said that it was just there one day after a great siege of the city."
Somewhere deep in the maze the echo of the tapping of Strider's staff was heard and something darker then the blackness stirred. It knew food was coming and it slinked off to play.

Slow down, Skollozeir... Skollozeir slowed down immediately, not daring to disobey. Though he served Desdion, It was much more important than the legitimate god. "But, they're still far away." He frowned slightly, speaking in his quick manner, his dark bangs getting in his eyes. "They'll be traveling faster with the wraithes, the liches, the dead who are damned, after them. Unless, of course, they're stronger than them, then--" They are going to be...let's say, occupied, for a time. He heard it chuckle deeply, and the onyx in his hand went warmer for a second.
Oliver didn't notice the red light, he couldn't, only hearing the tapping of the man's staff echoing in the confining tunnels ahead. Gue's eyes narrowed at the sudden brightness, previously being content with the darkness before. The panther moved forward to follow the walking man and he wrapped an arm around his powerful neck, using it to steady his path. "I've never feared the dead, they don't bother with me either." Oliver said, perhaps a little prideful, hearing his quiet voice bounce off the walls. "How dangerous do you think this creature is, though? By your standards, whatever they are."

Noreen glared at the obnoxious demigod before looking over his shoulder at the slab of onyx. Distracted? What did...? Suddenly, a thrill of power and slight excitement ran down her spine, causing her to shiver. She heard of that creature existing, but never has she come into contact with it, nor ever felt its power... Now she knew why this creature was a danger, even to great and powerful gods like her master. Head hanging low, a chuckle began to bubble in her chest. That chuckle grew as time dragged on until she had her head thrown back, laughing maniacally. "They're doomed!" She shouted gleefully. "Even if they manage to escape that creature's clutches, we'll find them and finish them! Hahahahaha!!!" With that, she grabbed Skolloier's hand and ran down into the land of the dead, still giggling slightly.

"Well by my standards being a god and all I would say..." Strider thought for a moment. "Well lets just say that it could kill me if I'm not careful and that is quit a feat if I must say. I have been on the surface of this planet much longer then my older siblings. There are few beings living or dead that I fear and this creature is neither. It is an ancient creature that was created by Desdion. He had kept it secret to even us. It is a creature of pure shadow and fire. You could say it is an elemental of sorts." Strider stopped suddenly stiffening. Listening to some inaudible sound. Oliver was about to speak but Strider shushed him. Then with a sudden gasp he turned. "RUN!" Suddenly a beast on four legs with the face of a pig but with curved horns erupted into fiery visibility. It looked like a kind of dragon but suddenly it stood up on two legs and roared like the cracking of embers and some beast's. It began to run on four legs after them.

Skollozeir ran behind Noreen, one hand held by her and the other holding the rock. He was a little confused, his mind trying to make sense of jumbled thoughts. But, after a few minutes, he decided that it was better to go along with it. The slab cooled down to it's former iciness, as if reassuring him. He smiled crazily, his unsureness gone in an instant. Then he laughed like Noreen had before, though his lasted far longer than hers, as was customary.
A god? Oliver thought as the man explained. He opened his mouth to say something but was shushed and went silent. A few seconds later, he heard him gasp and then his ears rang from the noise that followed. He was dazed and leaned against Gue, his heightened sense of hearing briefly incapacitated. The panther had far better hearing than the boy's, and though he should have been stunned too, the sight of a monstrous hybrid beast appearing out of nowhere made him fear for his young charge. Turning, he darted after the man holding the woman, forcefully nudging Oliver back onto his back to sit on the still unconscious man. Oliver shook his head to clear the ringing out of his ears and held tightly to the other passenger on Gue. Suddenly, he went stiff. "Take the next left, there's an opening up ahead in the wall!" He yelled out, and Gue saw a small crack with enough space for them to slide through, and hopefully not for the rushing creature behind them.

Strider was inside the crack and held the mouth of the boy so he wouldn't speak. When he saw the fire coming he stiffened up but saw as the creature went past and it's light was growing dimmer and dimmer until it was gone. Strider sighed. "I'm sorry for putting my hand over your mouth. I was afraid you may try to say something. Be glad it didn't hear you say that you went for the crack." Strider poked his head out the crack and saw and heard nothing. The creature had probably went to look for them. "Now this creature is called a Raylore. There are more then one but this one is the only one living so far north. All others live in the deep caverns of the South. Come we shan't have to worry about the beast until we travel deeper into it's domain."
The Raylore had extinguished it's flame knowing they would go into the crack. Once they came out it began to follow them knowing they were going deeper. It wanted to play around with them for some time before it killed them.

A pair of blood red eyes opened before looking up around the owners surroundings. The man, a vampire, saw the dark interior of the dreaded Deamrit Maze. None who entered here returned alive. He's been in that cell long enough to know that. He's also been in there long enough to what resides in the maze. Slowly lifting his body from the panthers back, he whispered hoarsely, "It knows..."

Feeling the man on the panther's back under him waking up, Oliver hopped off Gue to walk quietly along the uneven floor. He was alert to any sound he could hear in the near silence. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary, and that was what was making him uncertain. He patted the man's shoulder softly. "Shh, you shouldn't move. You're still hurt." He said to the second man, this one having a rougher voice than the first man. Gue gave a low growl when he stirred, not quite liking his scent. It was off, different than the undeads'. Oliver then directed his question to the first man. "How much farther, then, until we reach it's lair?"

"Not much further. It sleeps at the center of the maze. It is there that the real horror of the winding maze begins." Strider felt uneasy. He felt like something was watching them. "I feel uneasy. We must go a bit faster. Come." Strider quickened his pace.

"No..." The vampire whispered in fear as his eyes dart around to look uneasily at the surrounding dark. "It knows... It's following... It aims to kill... All who enter..."

Oliver felt Gue's muscles tighten under his hand and the panther held back a roar. "If one of us separated from the group, would it come after them instead of the others?" He asked, and Gue sped up a little to keep an even pace. "How many are there, in the group? I know there's me and Gue, then two or three others, but I can't tell with all the echos bouncing around." He asked, to anyone in particular.
