Ewan chuckled as he held a hand to his forehead in mock-sorrow. "Oh," he said in an obviously playful voice, "woe is me! Abandoned by the princess for a fish! Whatever shall I do?" Returning to his normal manner of speech, he added, "That's a healthy curiosity you have, my dear. It will serve you well in your endeavour to learn more about this place we call home."

Calisto smiled as she thought the idea was sound. It would give her a chance to talk to Alex more as she stood up. She dust herself off as she whispered to the spirits to be nice to those about the fire or they’d hear from her. She’d smile before looking over at Alex with a smile also in her eyes. The sign she was ready as she would walk to his side silently understanding what she was to help do.

"You can leave that part to me," replied Ewan with a smile. "I know my way around a campfire pretty well. I haven't burned a fish in two hundred years." He winked at Akira and shifted his gaze to the fish, watching for the right time to turn them. "Once the fish become opaque, we'll turn them."

"I'm glad to be of service," Ewan said, smiling brightly. "I usually do all of this myself, so it's nice to have someone helping for a change." He looked back at the fish to see if they were ready. Deciding they were, he pointed to the side that was cooking. "See how white the fish have become? That means it's time to turn them."

Ewan couldn't help but chuckle at Akira's reaction. It was just too cute. "No, dear," he said in a serene tone, "the fish didn't bite you. You simply got a minor burn from the fire. I can heal that in no time flat. But, first, I'll turn the fish." He did as he said, then turned back to the princess, holding a hand out. "If I may see your hand, I'll take care of that burn."

Every so often she’d get tickled by the wind spirit as she giggled nearly dropping the wood in her arms as she looked at Alex smile. “Alex, something on my face?” She asked this not out of insult but of honest questioning because she didn’t want there to be anything on her face that wouldn’t come off. She’d touch her face to find out if anything was and only have a confused look on her face. She held that look for sometime before the tickling occurred again by the wind spirit as she started to laugh once more.

"No need to apologise, hon," Ewan said as he looked down to Akira's hand. He closed his eyes in concentration, whispering a short incantation. A white light appeared over the burn, fading after just a brief moment along with the red mark. The healer's eyes opened as he smiled at the princess. "There! Good as new!"

"I could," Ewan replied, drawing out the second word and winking, "but let's wait until we actually need it, okay? What I can show you, though, is something of a more preventative nature." He closed his eyes again, whispering another spell. Two orbs of light, one gold and one white, appeared in front of Ewan and began spiralling toward each other, eventually fusing into one golden ball. The ball condensed into the shape of a hairpin. Ewan plucked it from the air and presented it to Akira. "A golden hairpin infused with a a protection spell. After all, you can never be too careful." The healer smiled warmly at the princess.
