"Hey, Amelia, I've got some," Sophie said, fishing out a bottle of Aspirin from her pockets. Since Christmas, Sophie had been plagued by headaches. Because of that, she usually carries around a bottle of Aspirin to relieve her of the aching. Looking around, Soph wished her Zune worked at Hogwarts so she could listen to Godsmack. So far, Vlaityn hadn't responded to Xurdion volunteering her for Quidditch tryouts. Tapping her foot to a beat, Sophie quietly began to hum Serenity, a song by Godsmack. When she realized Jason had also offered Amelia pills, however, Sophie put the bottle away, continuing to hum quietly.

Lori, who had nearly fallen asleep, jumped slightly from the sound of Sophie's voice. Looking around, she caught sight of her old friend. "Sophie!" Lori said, sounding suprised. "Jeez, everyone was talking about how you were playing major hooky and there was a rumor going around that you died. Where have you been???" She grinned. "So how's Jenny? And Anthony?" Lori looked around, searching for the familiar mop of blond hair, usually followed by several giggling stalkers. Surprisingly, there was no cocky grin, flashing blue eyes, or even a single giggling stalker. "Hm, where it that kid? Weren't you two practically inseparable? Well, during free time, at least." Lori thought for a moment. "But anyways," she said, "You should have come earlier. I had no one to bother but him," Lori gestured towards Xurdion, "In all my classes." She pushed a lock of reddish-brown hair away from her face, grinning.

Pulling her robe down so that her eyes were now visible Amelia looked at Jason when she heard his voice. He was handing her two capsules of Tylenol that he had just pulled from his pocket. Amelia wondered for a moment if he poisoned the capsules but by the look of fear on his face that Amelia would make do on her threat and jinx him into next week she knew that the kid was only trying to help. Sitting up and taking the capsules Amelia said, "Thanks Jason." She then proceeded to pop both capsules into her mouth and swallow them without water.

That was one of the many traits that Amelia had that freaked out her friends back home. Whenever she was sick she either a) ignored what was wrong with her and continue with whatever she was doing or b) swallowing pills without so much as a sip of water.

Before placing her robe back over her eyes and lying back down on the grass Amelia said to Jason, "You shouldn't give up so easily. To earn respect you fight honorably for what you want and if you don't succeed you come back again. You're a fourth year, you have three years to try again but gain as much experience as you can while you have the chance. Three of us are leaving after this year, learn from us while you still can." With that she laid back down and waited for the Tylenol to take effect. You couldn't keep Amelia from flying for very long. ....

Jason listened to Amelia as she told him not to give up so easily. What is it with these Brits? One minute their ready to jinx me, next their convincing me to keep going. Jason sat their contemplating for a moment. Then as a lightbulb sparked on somewhere in his noggin he remounted his broom leaving his wand next to Amelia and sped off on his Firebolt. He was gonna finish these "tryouts" win or lose.

Denying Sophie's offer of aspirin since Jason already gave her some medicine, Amelia continued to lay on the ground. Lying on the grass and barely awake Amelia heard the zoom of a broom going into the air.'Guess Jason took my advice.' and sure enough when Amelia peeked out of her robe and up at the sky, there was once again a second figure up there.

'This changes nothing between him and I though. He ever pulls a stunt like he did earlier again or disrespects me in anyway and he will be sorry he ever came across Amelia Marie Rochelle.' Once again Amelia pulled her robe back over her eyes to block out the sun. As she closed her eyes again Amelia prayed to God, 'Please don't make me regret convincing Jason to keep going. Please don't make me regret it.'

Amelia did feel slightly better that she gave Jason some confidence to keep going. She wouldn't be a Ravenclaw if she didn't, she would've probably been a Slytherin if she threatened Jason but then not care at all if he left the field without even trying. 'The kid has potential. I saw it first hand when he saved my first attempt at the goal. To see him give up after only trying to save two shots against him wouldn't be right.' Mumbling to herself Amelia said, "I really need to stop thinking about this. It's only making my headache worse despite the Tylenol."

Sky walked into the area where everyone was gathered with his Nimbus 2009 model, it was costumized to be red with a golden bolt going down the side. "Enter, Skylar Maple!" He said with a smile in his thick Irish accent. "The king of cool, the prince of awesomeness." He continued with a smirk, he was dressed in his quidditch robes and he looked around the field, most of the people he knew from previous years. Amelia, Lori, Xurdion, Sophie, Kani, and Vlaityn. But there was a few other people he didn't know yet, a new kid that seemed a little bit preped for whatever he was about to do, and another boy who was just flying up in the air. "Interesting." He walked over to Xurdion and Sophie who seemed to be talking to each other. "Hey brother, I am late for tryouts?" He couldn't help but laugh since it had been forever since he'd last seen Xurdion and he was happy to see him. He used the term 'brother' in an affectionate way rather than to say they were blood related.

Xurdion looked up when he heard Sky's voice, at first he thought he was just imagining things but then he found out that it really was him. "Hey man! What's your deal?!" Joy was filled in his voice, Sky hadn't been around for quite some time and they only communicated through the muggle internet called "e-mail". "Hey, I missed you man! You're not late, actually there are still a few people that are trying out for keeper, I'm assuming you are as well. What do you say we go and practice?"

"I'd like that, Sophie, care to join us? We could use another chaser. I need all the practice I can get if I'm going to beat a few people out of being keeper. This is my last year, you know." Sky mounted his exotic broom and headed towards the edge of the training area. He began to construct quick make-shift goalposts so they could easily tear it down afterwards.

Xurdion followed suit and flew over to where Sky was, he helped him construct the make-shift goalposts and soon they were done. "Hey, I'll be right back, I'm just going to find us a quaffel." Xurdion began to look around the area for an extra quaffel and soon found one next to the other equipment. "Ah, someone must have brought an extra. I'll be sure to return this." With that he flew back over to where Sky was and smirked. "Let's see if you still got it!" He threw the quaffel as hard as he could towards the left goal, it went in a curved line so that they could warm up before they got into the harder stuff.

Sky flew over to where the quaffel was and smacked it with the end of his broom. "You're going to have to try harder than that to get past me, brother." Sky said in his accent again, he never bothered to get rid of it because it just felt unnatural when he didn't speak with it and people could still understand when he spoke.

"Nice one, man!" Xurdion said as he caught the quaffel and looked at Sky. "You still got SOME of your skill." He emphasized the "some" because he remembered a time when Sky could block most, if not all, of his shots.

"Well then, have another go at me if you wish." Sky got into position while he waited for Xurdion to throw the quaffel, he anxiously examined Xurdion's every move as he preped for the throw.

Sophie rolled her eyes, prefering not to address Lori on the absence of her brother. "Yeah, sorry 'bout that." She said, before turning back to Sky and Xurdion. "Sure, and it's great to see you, Sky. I see you still have that accent." Mounting her Nimbus 2009, Sophie rose up casually as her two friends began to play around and acting, well, like guys. Silently cruising along, Sophie casually neared the goals, not drawing attention too herself. Finally, behind Sky, Sophie mouthed, 'Fake-out' towards Xurdion, basically refering to the classic move where one player pretends to try and score, but instead passes to another player, who then scores, since the keeper is otherwise occupied. She loved that move because it tested many skills a keeper needed, as well as what a chaser needed, to be on the team.

Xurdion nodded towards Sophronia when he noticed her signal. He began to fake throwing it towards the right goal post but ended up throwing it over the center one and towards Sophronia. All he could do now was hope that the throw was good enough and that Sophronia had been paying attention when he threw it. His hands started to get sweaty as he awaited for his teammate to respond. He swallowed hard as well, so hard that he almost hurt his throat and started to cough like crazy, after a few seconds he was fine and merely took out a throat candy and stuck it in his mouth.

"Of course I still have the accent, do you think I'm THAT into what people think of me?" Sky responded with a smile as he continued to eye Xurdion. When Xurdion faked it towards the right goal post Sky bolted towards it out of instinct but then he realized that it was a fatal mistake. He looked up at the quaffel which was flying towards Sophronia in a parabella(?). He needed to get it otherwise his chances may be dashed, he used to know exactly when they were going to do this play but it seemed as though Xurdion was trying to pull a fast one on him. He quickly bolted towards the quaffel and attempted to catch it, knocking it with one of his hands and smacking it with his other. The quaffel flew straight down and hit the ground, he couldn't catch it otherwise he would have fallen off. "Trying to get tricky on me when I just got here?! That's not very nice, brother." Sky said with a smirk as he flew down and grabbed the quaffel. He threw it back towards Xurdion, rather proud that he managed to block the quaffel. "But since we're getting tricky, try and hit me with another and I'll show you what I've learned."

Damn, Sophie thought, shaking her head. "But Sky, that was simple move. If you really want us to do something complicated, we sure could. I just didn't want to make you cry." Smiling up at him, she flew back to Xurdion. "So which one do you want to do?" She asked him, wondering if they had made any new moves while she was exploring the catacombs of Paris with her parents, as she had been telling everyone who asked. Of course, no one remembered that she had already done that during the summer of her third year, so everyone she had told her excuse to was asking her about it, pretty much fawning over the fact that she could do something so fun while they were stuck at Hogwarts studying. Like they could take what was actually going on during those months, Sophie thought as she waited for Xurdion's reply.

Looking up at her friends, Lori nearly jumped up, barely remembering about Kani's head. "Sorry, Kani, but Quidditch practice without me is just not right," Lori said, hurriedly getting up while, at the same time, making sure that she didn't hurt Kani's head. Grabbing her broom, Lori quickly mounted it and flew straight up. Unfortunately, she hadn't calculated correctly and instead, shot right above them. Laughing, Lori headed down until she level with Xurdion and Sophie. "Helping Sky try out for Keeper?" She asked them, waving at her friend. "Hey, Sky, long time, no see!" Wow, apparently I've been out of it a lot. I haven't seen a bunch of my friends, Lori thought, silently making a late New Years resolution to try and not zone out as much anymore.

Amelia bolted up so fast that her already aching head began to spin when she heard Sky's voice and that the team was starting back up with the practice. "HEY! No fair guys, can't you atleast wait until the other chaser is back in her prime before starting another match? Christ almighty you guys stink." Standing up and snatching her robe and broom off the ground, Amelia was about ready to get back on her broom and fly up to her team mates but she ended up falling down again. 'Oh smooth move Rochelle. Get back in the action right away but kill yourself in the process, that's smart.' Even though she took the Tylenol, Amelia's head still wasn't feeling any better but it was either fight it to get back into the action or lie back down and be a wimp. 'Darn muggle medicine. I need to get back in the air. I will not lie down again and be a wimp headache or no headache.' ......

"Well, we did come up with a few during the Christmas dance but that would be down-right mean to pull on Sky. Especially since he probably hasn't played quidditch in a while." Xurdion told Sophronia, just then he noticed Amelia wanted to join them but she seemed as if she was in some sort of pain, Xurdion knew Amelia well enough to know that she usually didn't show pain like she was now. "Amelia!" He called as he flew down to her, he got off his broom and kneeled next to her. "Hold on, what do you have? I may have an herb to help you." He pulled out a small pouch that was in his quidditch robe pocket and began to look through the herbs in it, there seemed to be one for almost every ailment.

Before Sky could respond to what Xurdion was about to say, he was off. "Bloody hell, those two still at it with each other? Are they even together yet? If not, one of them best make a move and fast because this is Amelia's last year here, mine and Lori's as well. I was so hoping that I could see what would become of them but...what can you do?" He said to Sophronia, it was pretty loud but he doubted that Amelia or Xurdion could hear him. "Hey, brother! You going to help her so we can play or what?! You're usually way faster than this!" His accent was rich but he thought that nobody would mind, after all, he was amongst friends. Only teachers cared about his accent mainly because it could make him sometimes hard to understand.

Jason floated above the entire mass of players that now was the Ravenclaw Quidditch team. Now here come's another keeper. Apparently Jordan still hadn't actually tried to stop a goal yet so he focused on the newest guy, who he believed was named Sky. Okay Xurdion seemed to be going for the right goal but ended off shooting it left.'Why does that one always seem to work? At least he can block it. I probably would have had trouble with that play. As the play went around he flinched involuntarily when the quaffle hit the ground for it being his after all. Alright its my turn now, I hope. "Xurdion! Anyway I could get back in on the action?"

Kanita rolled off Lori and instead folded her arms behind her head, looking up at the players floating above. They looked so very relaxed and comfortable, even though it was a competition. BUt since everyone was here because of their love of flying, that was what unified the team and potention members. Kani, on the otherhand, did not feel comfortable in the least anymore. Even if surrounded by her old team mates.

Pulling herself to her feet, Kanita could not bare the sight of quidditch after all. And though she felt horrid to let Vlaityn down in anyway, she just couldn't... just couldn't stay. "I'm sorry." Her words were whispered for Vlaityn's ears only as she hurried past the girl. In her rushed steps, her toe rammed into an idle rock and pulsed, but that went ignored as the farther from the quidditch practice she got, the faster she began running. And there was no stopping now. Kanita ran faster, breaths coming harder. She made a quiet enough, swift enough escape from the view of her friends that nothing would be noticed. Save only Vlaityn perhaps.

Even as the ground changed from soft grass to rough gravel stabbing into her bare feet, the witch continued till she all but lost herself in the power of her strides.

Sophie looked over at the new kid. "I don't know if you noticed, but Xurdion is occupied at the moment. Please leave a message after the tone, beeeep," she said, imitating what muggles call an 'answering machine'. Funny little devices, Soph thought, the ends of her mouth curving up the smallest bit. Looking around, Sophie shrugged. "Well, I don't know if Xurdion would want you to, but personally, I think we can let you have a chance after Sky's done." With that, she looked down at Xurdion. "Hey, Xurdion! Hurry. Freaking. Up." Soph called down, wondering if he's going to be like this all the time.

Jordan had been flying a few laps above the others, relishing in the sheer joy of the action. The way the wind whipped his hair around, and the refreshing feeling that the chill in the air gave his skin was one of the greatest reasons Jordan loved flying. He had been so caught up in just enjoying the weather and prime flying conditions that he remained blissfully ignorant of the going on's below him. That was until a voice below him called out to Xurdion. Jordan was brought out of his stupor, and he flew a little lower to check out what was going on. Apparently the team was getting ready for some more practice, and now there was another oerson practicing for tryouts to get the keeper position. On top of that it looked like Jason was back in the running, and was already getting ready for some practice. Jordan's head hung in embarassment, 'Darn it,' he thought, 'everyone's getting ready for practice, and here I am quite literally getting my head lost in the clouds.' Jordan descended to the same elevation as the rest of the group, and came up beside Jason, "All right there Jason?" He asked nervously. Jordan was pretty sure that the fourth ear wouldn't try anything, but still there was alway's the possibility. After all, much much stranger things had happened at Hogwarts. "Sophie," he called out hoping to get her attention, "Can I be up after Jason?"

Looking up from yelling at Xurdion, Sophie turned to Jordan. "Jordan, right?" She asked, trying to confirm his name. "Yeah, I think that'd be good. I don't think anyone else is trying out, so..." She shrugged, "I guess you would've gone last, unless you wanted to quit." Sophie smiled, "But I doubt you want to do that, hm? Most people who try out for the team have prepared for several years so that they're at the top of their game when they try out." Sophie, having been at nearly every Ravenclaw Quidditch tryout, had preformed a survey one when a person decides they are suitably ready for the team and that had been what the majority of the team wannabies had stated, before going out and trying out. Realizing how Ravenclaw-y she had sounded, Sophie shut her mouth, deciding against telling Jordan about how some people used a lucky potion a few years back. "But, yeah, I'll make sure you get a turn too," Sophie stated before shutting up. She hated it when she sounded too much like a Ravenclaw, since that only promoted the stereotype that all Ravenclaws were nerds. Looking up at the sky, she watched as a cloud drifted in front of the thinner cloud that had been covering the sun. As the light cast on her eyes adjusted, so, apparently, did her eyes, shifting from green to an amber. Humming 'It's the End of the World as We Know It', Sophie waited for Xurdion to be done.
