"They were. Though they probably saw him go in this direction and followed him over here, if I'm understanding the question. And before I answer your question about what happened, I must do something first." Baikasu then reaches into his jacket and pulls out a bottle and takes a drink from it, then says, "There was a fake Naoko in here, which had attacked Shao and I while we were looking for the real one. We recovered, then eventually disabled him. Then I toold Shao to go get you. After he had left, The imposter suddenly literaly jumped up from unconcousness and fired a Black Hole at me. I had just enough time to get out of the way while he started to run away. I shot him in the foot, cought up to him and we engaged in melee combat. Then Naoko showed up in a bright flash and the imposter shattered into millions of pieces like glass. Then you showed up."
*Rubicant's eyes open and he lifts his head. He pushes himself up with his hands and stands looking about him. He catches a glimpse of himself in a shard of a broken mirror and jumps back, bumping into a warm fleshy... something... He slowly turns his head to see a man his height, his build, and with almost identical facial features. The strange man has crimson red skin and black eyebrows that portrude slightly. He has two demonic wings folded over his chest and hooked at the claw, OOC: I have no idea how to describe this, think gargoyals from that show... um... gargoyals?, IC: He bears a warped katana in his left hand and sneers as Rubicant locks eyes with him. Rubicant stutters to get words out.*
The stranger says: 'Now it's time to finish what you could. *His voice sounds like the crackling of fire. He laughs for a moment and jumps up into the air, using his wings to take full flight, heading directly for the others.*
NO! *Rubicant jumps up in the air to dive toward his friends as he always had, but on the way down, he realizes he hasn't budged and he only was able to jump up high enough to angle his body, he couldn't recover and landed flat on his face. Standing up and shaking off this strange sensation he wasn't used to, he wiped the blood from his face and started to run toward the group, noticing he couldn't run nearly as fast as he used to be able to, Rubicant begins shouting to try and warn the group.*
WATCH OUT!!! HE IS COMING!!! GET AWAY!!!
"Naoko's" eyes open suddenly as if she had heard something, closing the Void. Something's coming over here...
Baikasu says, "I got a bad feeling about this. I suggest that we all ready our weapons." He then puts his pistol away, and takes his katana out of it's hilt. He closes his eyes, then thinks Amulet, I must call upon your power once more. His sword begins to glow, and then starts vibrating in his hand. He opens his eyes, noticing the glow and shaking sword, and then thinks, "Thanks a lot!" He then lowers his sword, and notices that he's getting stares from Daewyn and Phey. He says, "I learned this when Shao and I were fighting the false Naoko. You focus energy into your weapon or other object. Try it."

"focus energy? hmm..."
*phey looks down at her gun in one hand, and the still burning amulet in the other. She closes her one eye and thinks to hereself...*
"what am i supposed to do? ...um... oh great firey amulet... uhm... oh forget it... i just need help... i feel like i'm talking to myself ... if you can here me amulet, can you help me out here?"
*she feels a sharp pain in her right hand and quickly opens her eye to see that the amulet actually melted into her palm. this really shocked phey and cuased phey to accidently pull the trigger and shoot an old brick wall. a firey bullet shot out like a fireball and the wall exploded into rumble.*
"HOLY CRAP!! WHAT THE...?
"you wanted help... i gave it to you.... and this way we'll never be alone...."
*phey looked at baikasu with a sort of 'you've got to be kidding' look and held up her right hand.*
"I this suppose to happen? ... did i do it right?..."
"Apparently so. Though, mine never melted. Just don't point that at me, okay?" Shao, do you still have some weapons on you? You did throw a lot at that imposter."
*phey shoved her gun in her pocket and stood staring at the amulet in her palm.... then she started to try to see if she could get it out. she poked, picked, pryed and eventually started chewing on it ...and the amulet flared a little.*
"Stop picking at me! scream "
"heh, sorry...habit"
"Naoko" smiles at the others in amusement. So all of you seem to be able to call upon the amulets.
She raises her hands in the air and a light begins to form around her fingers. My name is Kaen, by the way, Naoko's mother. I'm using my daughter's body right now so she can heal herself. Unlike her, I'm able to use the power of the Void to my advantage.
She smirks more to herself than anyone else as she sees the winged creatures approaching them. Here they come...
Daewyn stopped in front of Naoko, or her body at least, and shot out the knives that were strapped to her arms. She then pulled out the amulet. How do I use you? she questioned it.
All you must do is ask she heard in her head.
Umm...ok. Could you please help me?
Of course.
Daewyn watched in surprise as vines grew out of the amulet, wrapping around her torso and down her arms. The vines seemed to serve as armor, and the way they wrapped on her arms gave her the feeling she could grab things with them as well. The little thief smiled. These could come in handy.

*Rubicant wonders to himself, 'What happened? where are my powers? what was that... that thing? why do i feel so... so... weak... my sight is worse, my hearing has lessened, my muscles have weakened tremendously... why? and what is this lightness i feel in my chest?' Rubicant looks down and sees his amulet giving off gentle glow. 'Good thing that... whatever, didn't get this... ' Rubicant grips his amulet and feels a cool radiance from it. 'Huh? Stop that!' Rubicant lets go and continues running toward his companions. 'I have to help my friends! Wait... my... my friends? When did they become my friends... Who cares, i've gotta stop that thing... but, but how... i'm so weak now... and he's so, so fast... what can i do?' Rubicant continues running at a fast pace waving his arms and still shouting warnings.*
The winged demons approach the group. Naoko, now Kaen, summons up a spell, sending the group back into the Void in order to not harm the temple behind them.
Persistent, they are...
Daewyn whispered to her amulet while she awaited the approach of the enemy.
Umm...do you have a name? I feel kinda silly calling you "amulet" all the time...
A name? You may call me Tera. It replied.
Ok, Tera!
By the time Daewyn and Tera had finished conversing the enemy was upon them. Daewyn hastily slashed at at the demonic-looking humaniod creature, missing him almost entirely. She managed to slice at one of the leathery wings, but it was in vain for they were too tough to be severed by such a feeble stroke.
Daewyn jumped back before he could retaliate and waited to see what happened.
The demon, easily missing Daewyn's weapon, flies above them and turns around, growling. It heads towards the teenager, but Kaen pushes Daewyn out of the way, barely missing the demon's poisonous claws. The amulet she holds glows once, and swirls of mist circle around her body and the strange aura around Naoko's body disappears. Naoko begins to cast a spell, sending her katana forth into battle.
"Why don't you take this on for size?" she shouts at the demon, releasing the lightning around her hands and letting it swirl around in the Void. The Void swallows the spell, sending it behind the demon and electrocuting it.
She hears wings flapping behind her and another figure approaching them at a fast speed. Naoko grits her teeth. There's more?
Use the Void, my child, her mother whispers to her.

Shao sees Naoko closing her eyes and mumbling something.
'Naoko...' Shao thinks, 'it's not the very best time to be doing this...you better have something up your sleeve..'
He sees a winged creature flying towards Naoko and he quickly throws some knives over to divert their path.
"Guys, everyone circle around Naoko!"
Naoko spreads her arms wide, chanting the words of her mother tongue. The Void begins to condense, disappear around the others only to gather around her. Her katana hums softly at the power, eventually guiding itself towards Naoko's sword arm.
She opens her eyes and grasps her weapon which is now transformed into a metamorphic sword. As the others gather around her, she smirks to herself and slams her weapon to the ground.
"Solar Break!"
The demons writhe in pain as the Void enters their bodies, eventually withering them apart as they shatter into pieces. Naoko gets up, sighing heavily.
Daewyn quickly rushes over to Naoko and puts an arm under her to support her.
"That was....amazing! I had no idea you had so much power!"
The teenager stood next to Naoko in awe.
"That was...amazing! I had no idea you had so much power!"
Naoko glances up at Daewyn, smiling softly. She looks back at her katana which has retained its original form. I didn't know either...
"I'm sorry everyone...for being caught offguard like that," she replies softly to the gang. "...I had no idea that my brother could do that to me..."

Daewyn smiled at Naoko. "It's ok, it wasn't your fault. So should we get to that temple now or what?"
"yeah, we better get to the temple before anything else decides to attack us.... "
*it was phey's first time seeing a demon so close and she didn't want to see another one*
'Man...' Shao thought, 'I just get this new power to work with and here comes even more powerful creatures.'
"Naoko...do you think you can...teach us how to use our amulets more effectively? Do you even know how?"
Naoko, lost in thought, snaps her head up at Shao's question. She looks at him for a second before turning away.
"....No, I honestly don't know how to work the amulets," she replies, brushing back her bangs. "They talk to you out of their own will...well, at least my mother does...so, I guess the only way to use the amulets effectively is listen to them. Sometimes their advice is worth knowing..."
*Rubicant comes running up to the group bent over panting horribly. He is drenched in sweat even in the cold air. The shattered pieces of demon begin to dicentigrate all around the group, letting off black violet smoke.*
Hey... *pant, pant*... guys... *pant* sorry I... *pant, pant* took... *pant* so long... *pant*
*Slowly the black smoke rolls across the ground and begins creeping toward Rubicant.*
So, what were those things? *pant, pant, pant*
*The smoke reaches Rubicant's leg and begins to seep into his pants, suddenly, he stands upright, and stops panting. He looks around for a moment and then, as if he had a realization, he looks down and bends back over, panting once more.*
Daewyn jumps back and pops out her blades when she sees the black smoke.
"Eh! What is that?!"
huh what? *Rubicant looks around him*
I didn't see a thing, you must be imagining things... so... let's head into the temple?

Shao glares at Rubicant as he makes his remarks.
'We must be all imagining things then...' Shao thinks to himself...
'Lucky there's ol' trustworthy Rubicant to reassure us...'
Daewyn looks at Rubicant curiously, then slowly retracts her blades.
Don't trust him. Tera told her. He is being controlled
Ok... Daewyn replied slowly. She trusted her amulet, and she knew she wasn't imagining that.
"Let's just go," she said aloud. "This place always gives me the creeps..."
*Phey walked out onto the street outside and crouched down, all the events happening was starting to give her a sort of "eye ache". She took off her eyepatch and put her hand on her empty eye socket*
*thinking to herself* "so many bad things...arg... it hurts again... where's a river when ya need it?... why'd i have to find this amulet?...."
"stop complaining.... dios is being controlled..."
"I know... he's controlled by Rubicant.... and since when can you read my mind? "
"No, not by rubicant... something else.... and your thoughts are my thoughts."
"what?! stop speaking in riddles!"
"watch him... closely..."
*just then, everyone walked out onto the street and Phey quickly stood up*
*aloud* "Everyone ready?"
Naoko stares at Rubicant with slight suspicion. Though the others could see only smoke, she saw something else....something that only Melbane could see; the eyes.
You have to be able to fight your fears, Rubicant, she mentally advises him before turning away and gripping her katana. She took a deep breath and sighed.
"Alright...let's go..." she replies, letting her eyes shift to the Void. "...Ghosts of the townspeople lurk within the temple as well...we have to get to the seal before they all disappear in daylight."
"Yes. That would be best." Baikasu then hears his amulet speak:
Rubicant is not to be trusted. Not now, anyway.
I know that. I haven't started trusting him, so continuing to do so will be quite easy. Al least for a while, anyway. There's a minute of silence. Then he thinks to his amulet:
Do you have a name? I sound as if I thought I was superior to you when I simply call you amulet. It's a bit degrading towards you.
My name Is Macnor. I trust that you know what my title is.
Pleased to make your aquaintence, Macnor. Let's hope we work well togeather, shall we? Heh heh.
That would be best.
He walks towards Naoko, and asks her, "So, is this Naoko, or her mother? Sorry if I'm being rude, but your mother was apparently controlling your body for a little while."
Naoko blinks a few times before smiling and shaking her head.
"Yes...it's actually me, Naoko, this time..." she says to Baikasu. "Though I'm not sure what you were talking about...my mother? She was here?"
Everyone looks at Naoko surprisingly, and she feels a bit uncomfortable. "...What? Did I miss something?"
In the back of her head, her mother's voice echoes with laughter.
"You went missing, we I started to fight a fake you, then you show up, you mother controlingbyour body, and causes the fake you to shatter into millions of pieces. then you came back, aparently. That's the short version. Ask your mother for more details, if you can."

Naoko frowns in thought, her eyes lost for a moment.
"...She won't tell me anything right now because she's laughing so hard..."
An echo can be heard in the distance...an wail from the temple. Naoko looks at the temple, gripping her katana even tighter.
"...Something's wrong..." she whispers more to herself than anyone else.
Oh my... look at that... i left my sword back a ways... *Rubicant's sword dissappears from his side discretly.* I'll uh... be right back...
*Rubicant begins to walk back the way they all came.*
"Oh gimme a break!!" Shao says when Rubicant is out of sight.
*Rubicant leaps up to some crumbled remains of a roof and waits, pulling a dark fire around him until he is engulfed and then drops down into the building. He lights it a blaze and notices even the pools of water on the floor are igniting. He leaps up once more and black wings sprout from his back... 'No more diving for me...' he thinks. He begins to soar toward the enterance to the town. He lands, folds his wings and brings his hands together in concentration. 'I have to destroy that temple before they get any answers... but it will take alot of time....'*
"keep going... make haste..."
*phey blinks, unsure on what to tell the others, then lowers her head.*
"i think we should keep moving... we're losing time."
*she raises her head to look at the group*
"i don't want to leave him behind on this one... but by now i think everyone's noticed that there's something not right with Rubicant right now."
Naoko guides the others to the temple entrance where she stops. She examines the temple's guardian, a statue, and places her hands on the statue's placard. The statue's eyes glow red once and the doors open.
Naoko turns to the others. "All right, let's go. Just follow me and you won't fall into its traps."

Shao follows directly behind Naoko, mimicking every step she takes. Naoko stops and Shao almost bumps into her. She turns around and says,
"You don't have to follow me THAT precisely..."
Shao sighs and closes his eyes, absorbing the minor giggles from Daewyn and the nasty coughing smirks from Rubicant. He looks around the temple. It's massive! The outside walls tell nothing about how big and complicated this temple will be. Shao sees Naoko's point now; there are dozens and dozens of pathways. One can easily be lost if they trail just a little bit behind.
Naoko guides them from one pathway to another, deeper and deeper into the temple, carefully examining the scriptures written in the old tongue that is carved on the walls. She tells the gang earlier that she has never been inside the temple, so she depends on her mother's soft voice to guide them.
Geez...why are there so many traps and puzzles? she wonders to herself.
It's because there are, my child. Don't be so curious! If it wasn't for me, you'd get lost in here VERY easily. replies her mother's voice.
"Yeah yeah, whatever..." Naoko mumbles as she presses her hand onto a stone, locking the trap from springing upwards.
"What was that, Naoko?" Phey asks from behind.
"Nothing," Naoko merely replies. The stone, seeped into the wall, glows a dark blue underneath her hand.
This could be the invisible path... her mother explains.
Oh great... Naoko sighs and turns around to the others.
"This may sound kind of absurd," she says, "but do any of you have an Agualian coin on you?"
Daewyn perks up. "Yeah I got one of those!" She fishes around in her bag of "goodies" she has in the past "liberated" and produces a small coin.
"Here you go Naoko! Uh, don't ask where I got it.."
"Thank you, Daewyn," Naoko replies and then tosses the coin into the pit in front of her.
The coin bounces in the middle for a few moments before disappearing into the pit.
"...." came Naoko's response. This isn't good....

"this is about to get a lot harder isn't it?"
Naoko sighs to herself.
"There's an invisible pathway here. You have to step onto it just right or else fall into the darkness below," she explains. "I can cast a spell that can let us float across the other side, but you'd all have to stay still and not move around too much."
"Man...I've never been a fan of bottemless pits..."
Shao takes out a handful of throwing knives, concentrates, and throws them up to the ceiling. The shatter into water droplets and fall straight down the pit of darkness. From the water there is no sign of any pathway.
"I guess the only way to know the path is from you eh, Naoko?"
Naoko shrugs.
"Knowing where the pathway is came from the coin. I'm not sure why, but the elders had a liking to Agualian coins...," she explains. She takes a deep breath. "Alright...here we go..."
She whispers some words, calling up the power of the wind. A gentle breeze sweeps through, lifting everyone up, slowly moving them across the pit. Naoko looks down below her to see a shimmer of glass reflecting off her eyes. So that's why it's invisible, the pathway's made out of glass...
She looks back up again, seeing nothing but darkness even with her eyes. How much longer?
A couple of more miles, Naoko... Her mother says. See that light on the other side? That is where the balcony lies.
"Oh boy..." Naoko murmurs to herself.
"What was that, Naoko?" Phey shouts behind her.
"Nothing," Naoko answers.

Seeing nothing but darkness for a few minutes, it's hard to notice that they're moving at all. Looking straight down at the pitch black pit reminded him of being back in the void. It is as if you are actually blind. Without hearing the voice of another person for long enough in this darkness, one can easily go insane.
"We're more than half way there, everyone," says Naoko.
Shao sighs...he doesn't like having to stand in one place like this. Everyone else seems a bit nervous also, as they're trying to talk to each other for comfort. Rubicant, however, does not seem nervous at all, as he is the ony one relaxed enough to sit down on the imaginary space in midair. Shaolin wants to talk to Baikasu about what he's thinking, but he's too far away to speak to privately.
*being part fox, Phey starts to get a little antsy and strains herself not to move...she starts thinking to the amulet*
"do you think you can lighten this place up? this darkness is driving me mad!"
"i think it may be better if you don't see... it's not much longer, relax."
*Phey became unsure if there were even people around; the silence wasn't helping. She wags her tail and can feel it brush against someone's leg. this makes her somewhat less tense.*
*thinking to herself* "i'm glad Naoko knows what she's doing."
Naoko strains herself to keep the spell cast. Her head throbs as if someone had hit a hammer against her head, but she ignores the annoying pain.
"A couple of more feet..." she whispers to herself.
Ask the one with the fire guardian to cast a flame spell.. Her mother advises her.
"Um...Phey," she calls out to her.
"Hmm?" Phey's head perks up. Naoko can tell that she's anxious to move around.
"Can you ask your amulet to cast a flame spell?" Naoko asks her. "I would if I could, but I'm too occupied with the wind spell right now. He should know where to cast the spell."
Shao watches as Phey closes her eyes and concentrates...
Shao thinks to himself, half-hoping that the amulet is listening.
'I wonder how powerful these amulet can actually be'
The power greatly depends not on the amulet, but the amulet's bearer. This amulet and specifically me, the element of water, have not been given to you by accident. Mastering the use of this amulet will grant you power beyond anything you have ever imagined. You have yet to see anything yet, my dear.
Shao can't help but get excited from the amulet's talk. But he knows mastering the amulet is no easy task. Enormous strain was pressure against his body when he used any water techniques. He has yet to see the potential of this power...and the consequences of it...
*poof*
Shao looks up and a fire appears.

*a huge flame bursts out of the amulet in Phey's right hand*
"is there any particular place you want me to aim this fire at, Naoko?"
*phey looks down to see them all hovering over a dark pit and quickly looks straight ahead, tensing up again.*
*thinking to herself* "the amulet was right... just don't look down...just don't look down..."
"Your amulet should know where to fire it at," Naoko replies.
Mother...are you sure about this? she asks.
Of course. If he doesn't do his job, then he is not going to hear the last of me.. Kaen replies.
"Just...ask him..." Naoko says.
Daewyn held still as much as she could, but it was getting harder. She hoped this ride was over soon, she wasn't used to staying still this long. Overcome with curiosity, she cautiously looked down. There seemed to be no end to the pit. I wonder if there was no bottom to the pit and we fell, would we die? she thought to herself. Something about her curiosity and innocence prevented her from being scared, but she was getting tired of standing still.
Just stand still before I wrap vines all around you! Tera threatened her. I have no desire to be cast into the bottom of a pit just because you couldn't stand still.
Daewyn was startled. She froze immediatly. It had never occured to her that the amulets would have a sense of their own welfare.
"okay... amule..."
*before phey could even start her request to the amulet, the fire in her hand shot up and hovered above everyone for a moment before firing itself at a ledge about 15 or more feet away. on the wall of the ledge was a large doorway with no light shining through at all.*

Naoko smiles to herself. "Thanks, Phey."
"Uh...no...problem?" Phey replies in confusion.
With a quick chant of words, the winds around them begin to spin even faster until they all land onto solid ground. Naoko breathes a sigh of relief.
"Okay...a couple of more chambers to go," she says more to herself than to anyone else as she continues to guide the rest through the swirling maze of the temple.
Shao's getting tired of the ride. Not being able to move for so long has gotten him real tense, especially at this height. There seems to be no pattern to the path they are floating towards, and everywhere in the temple looks identical, for a good reason, Shao assumes.
Meanwhile he hears a loud yawm coming from Rubicant. Shao ignores it and sighs. He talks to the amulet in his head.
'Do YOU think Rubicant is a bad guy?'
You will find out soon enough...
'Man, I hate answers like that.'
As soon as Daewyn's feet touched solid ground, she let out all the energy she had been holding back by sitting so still. She could see some of the others simply staring at her, but that didn't bother her too much; she was used to getting weird looks. She walked off ahead of the others, then quickly remembered she was supposed to be following Naoko, so she ran back, falling in closely behind the red-eyed girl.
Naoko guides the others through one hall with all its walls covered in massive amounts of scriptures.
I wonder what these are all about... she thinks to herself.
It retells the battle of heaven and hell,her mother explains to her. The true battle, not the ones that were told by others.
Naoko stops walking when she hears a deep roar in the distance. True battle?
Yes. The true battle....still goes on even now in the depths of our temple. This was the reason why only the elders and masters of elements could enter here.
Naoko draws out her katana, eyes narrowing. "Looks like we're going to have some company."
Shao takes out his kunai.
'You are going to have to summon my powers if you are to survive this battle.'
'Can't you just give them to me?...'
'I can only give what you are capable of asking.
'Dammit...I hate lines like that.'
He tenses up as the echo of the sounds grow louder and louder.
Calm down....concentrate....conentrate...

*Rubicant yawns once more and holds his right hand behind his back, bringing his left in front of him in an offencive stance.*
*yawn*
*hearing the roaring sound, Phey immediatly whips out her gun and rumages in he poach to check if she has anymore lightning gems... just in case. She starts to get into an ready pose and a grin forms on her face out of pure excitment*
*thinking to herself* "yes... i finally get to test this new power on something... i can't wait... come on come on come on! ....okay...calm down phey...... EEEEE! come on...!!"
"settle down... don't get too excited... it might even be good... open your eyes and calm down..."
"good? open my eyes? they're open..."
"don't be so foolish"
*phey sighs and tries to calm herself down and focuses on the darkness in the distance to try and see what caused the roaring.*
Naoko lets her katana guide her through the darkness as the roars get closer and closer.
Below you...it whispers to her.
As soon as Naoko warned of danger, she immediatly sprung her blades, eager for something to do.
Umm..Tera? Could you do that vine armor thing again? That was pretty cool!
As you wish. the amulet complied. Soon Daewyn was protected by a living mass of vines extruding from the amulet hanging around her neck.
*phey's tail wags as she aims her gun straight forward. the roaring echos in the long room and the sounds bounce from every which way. her ears perk up, listening to every sound wave, and it starts to confuse her. she shakes her head and tries to focus.*
*whispering* "arg... this place gives me a headache..."
The roars begin to rumble the ground below them.
Naoko's eyes snap open. "Everyone, jump!"
The floor crumbles beneath them, and Naoko quickly casts a spell to keep everyone afloat. When she turns around, she faces the eyes of an angry dragon.
Now mother...what was this about a battle again? she asks rather sarcastically.
The true battle between heaven and hell revolved around the creators of both planes...the dragons.
Naoko's eyes glow in the dark, swinging her katana around. "Okay, here it goes..."
She quickly calls upon her Void and disappears from within, taking the dragon with her and leaving the others with the rest of the amulets. Kaen whispers to the other amulets before leaving, and they glow in response.
Daewyn was startled when they rose into the air, but even more surprised when Naoko and the dragon disappeared.
"What's going on?!" she asked exasperated. "I thought I was finally going to get to do something." She looked down at the amulet to see it glowing.
"I think Naoko probably feels that we can't take on the dragon at this stage...I hope she's alright. But meanwhile we have to deal with what's going to happen to us..."
The amulets start glowing brighter and brighter.

As the amulets continue to pulsate, the others can hear more noises below them. The sound of wings flapping echoes in the distance as well as more growls....some even comprehendible.
"Get out, get out, if you want to stay alive...." a voice whispers to them.
They turn around to see the walls come alive.
Hiding herself within the Void, Naoko carefully observes its opponent.
You little wretch! Disturbing the temple's battle for nothing! the dragon shouts.
"My, you're welcome," Naoko replies as she lets her katana guide her around the Void.
The dark dragon turns around warily in the Void. You think you can hide from me, Mistress of Void?
"I'm not hiding, more....observing you," Naoko replies again in a slightly teasing tone.
The dragon snorts. Observing? Bah, what good would it prove to just observe me, sister of Dante?
Naoko freezes, allowing her katana to step out. "....My brother...how do you know of my brother?"
"Did you hear that?"
*phey turns to the others as the ground below them starts to shack, the dragons below getting closer. Phey aims down at them and fires! a huge fireball shoots out of her gun and the impact of the shot sends her flying a yard up and back. she lands on her back, stunned for a moment by the agonizing roars of a dragon injured by the stot and skidding against a wall. she immediatly snaps to it and gets up.*
"we can handle this.... can't we?"
"go..."
"We can handle this. Definitely." Shuu replied, but in a not-so-confident voice. He aimed his guns, but got thrown off-balance before he could fire. So, instead, he opened up his spellbook and started flipping to the 'perfect' spell for the situation. "Curse my forgetfulness..." He mumbled, in the midst of the roaring dragons...
The dragon chuckles sinisterly.
OH....You must be the OTHER Mistress of Void then...
Naoko growls in anger, but her mother holds her back. Don't let his taunts get to you....you need time for the spell to complete...
Do I have to? Naoko mentally retorts back to her mother before saying, "The other? Why, of course I am. There is no other Mistress of Void."
Let us destroy him... her katana eagerly whispers to her.
No...not yet...
No other? Bah, child, you are mistaken. the dragon says.
"I am Nothing...I go Nowhere," Naoko replies. I hope the others will be all right.
"ARGH!!!" Shu stated, aggravated. "If there was ever a time for me to forget that spell, NOW would not be it!!!" After flipping through the spellbook a little more, he gave up and said "Oh well...guess I'll have to rely on support spells and guns then!" And with, he started charging toward the dragon, while an aura began to form around his guns.
However, his charge was futile, for the dragon hit him before his guns charged, so he couldn't finish it. The spellbook flew out of Shu's hands and onto the ground. Shu instantly got bck on his feet, but when he tried to grab the book, he stared in disbelief for a few seconds. "NO WAY..." Shu stated, as he saw that his spellbook was opened to the page he was looking for. He grabbed the book and looked at the page excitedly. "YES!!!" he said, before adding "...DragonBane..."
Daewyn's amulet began to glow even brighter.
What's going on Tera? she asked the amulet
Don't worry about it child, she replied.
Daewyn sighed. She hated answers like that, but didn't figure arguing would get better results, so instead she focused her attention on the dragon before her. She jumped at the dragon, swords flashing, the flew back. She repeated this, forming a seemingly nonsensical dance around the beast.

*as the dragon Phey hit earily crawled up through the floor, Phey took aim at it again. she pulled the trigger but only an ordinary bullet shot out and barely phased the right arm of the creature.*
Phey: "what the!? what happened?"
amulet: "stop... i need time to rest... and restore...."
Phey: "why didn't you tell me earlier?"
amulet: "Keep your guard up!"
*phey looked up to see the angry gaze of a dragon. she backed away slowly, rummaging in her pouch for those lightning gems. she pulled one out and threw it at the beast to try and buy time for her amulet...*
Phey: "are you ready yet?"
Amulet: "be patient!"
Phey: "argh..."
Daewyn saw Phey was in trouble and decided to help out. Jumping around in front of the creature, she managed to get its attention. Then she jumped to the soft underbelly and, carefully avoiding its claws, looked for weak spots. She quickly found one and stabbed at it with both her blades, peircing the tough skin. She jumped back, but the enraged dragon swiped at her before she could get clear of his range. The claws sliced through the vines protecting her, and Daewyn could feel Tera shudder from the pain. She fell to the ground, bouncing off one of the walls, and lay still for a while, trying to catch her breath.
Nothing? Go Nowhere? You're talking nonsense, child! The dragon roars, swinging its tail. Now show yourself! End this foolish game of yours!
Naoko easily dodges the dragon's tail, still hiding in her element. Just a little bit more...hang on....
Her katana slowly begins to form an outer layer of crystal, taking in its master's spell.
Shuichi looked down at his spellbook and started reading the inscription. He mumbled some archaic chant while starting to cast DragonBane. His extended hand eventually began glowing with a strange magical aura, before he heard his amulet. No it said, if you cast that spell here, then the dragon will thrash around and destroy this temple, including you and your allies. You MUST NOT use that spell here! "Okay, OKAY!!!" Shuu replied, disrupting his spell. "I WON'T cast that spell. JEEZ!" Then, he looked in the direction Daewyn and Phey in trouble, and decided to switch from offensive spell usage to defensive spells. So, he started casting spells to defend everyone with a magic barrier...

As he finished casting the Shielding spell, Shuu realized something. What happened to the dragon I was fighting...? That's when he turned around and saw it face-to-snout. Shuu got hit right in the gut, and was sent flying across the area, right past the others. However, he noticed something strange. The dragon could have easily barbecued him, but instead it knocked him....OUT OF THE WAY?!?!?! Why....do I feel so weird...? Shuu thought, I felt like...that dragon....I FELT CLOSE TO THAT DRAGON! Like...we were....ONE?!?!?! Could it be...?
Baikasu sees Phey nearly getting ripped up and Daewyn being thrown to the ground."s**t!" He yells. He then thinks to his amulet, " A Little help please, Macnor?
"That would be wise, yes. Here you go."
"Thanks. I appreciate it." He takes out his gun, focuses the energy Macnor granted him, aims at the dragons head and fires. The dragon is hit by the energy bullet, with only minor and barely visible burn wounds to show for it. The dragon shakes it off "DAMNIT!" He then pulles the trigger again.

s**t! Forgot to reload! As he reloads his pistol, the dragon, now realizing who shot him in the head, starts towards Baikasu in a rage of fury.
Baikasu then says, in a clear voice, "******** style="color: indigo">Shuu, though on the ground and a currently easy target, was not actually being attacked by the dragons. As a matter of fact, he started the offense, yet all the dragon(s) did was nudge him out of the way. What could this possibly mean...? This is just so weird...
