He blinked lightly, not expecting that one. "Um... Sure. I've left Duke in charge before. Just... Make sure to take Lemon with you so Duke can call me just in case he needs me to run back. Um... Just make sure it shuts up..." He grimaced at the thought of the hyper little cat-bot-phone-thing... He didn't particularly dislike it, it's just... It wouldn't shut up! Anyway, he found the thought of doing something special on his birthday for once would be a nice change from the norm. How could he refuse?

And right on cue Lemon screeched into the room as he was being chased by a very angry Baxterfullous. "MAAAAAHH-AAAH-STEERRR!!!!" He shrilled like a banshee darting between passerbyer's legs in a flurry of panic. "SAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAVE MEEEEE!"
"Come back here you inssesent little sprog I'll rip out your wires and use you for a scratching post when I'm through with you!" He pounced from the entrance narrowly missing Lemon, skidding into a table and into Rabid's legs. Getting up and shaking his head, he continued his persuit.
"EEEEEEEEEE! DANGER! DANGER!" Lemon squeeled, flailing around even further hiding underneath the table Catherine and Salem were at. " I DUNNO WANNA BE A SCRATCHING POST! WAAAAHH!"
Catherine's expression was more of a shock than surprise, her face twisted into a a bemused smiled as she bent forward and snorted.
Aphrodite blinked, her little lips purse, her eyes wide, what a horrible noise. She looked up at Salem with a plea. "May sto'"

Reid grimanced at the sudden scream and clapped two hands over his ears, which, sadly, did next to no good against the banshee like screams and tones.
Chao blinked at the flurry of movement, pulling her legs fully up onto the table at which she sat. Her expression was somewhere between one of amusement and concern as her eyes flickered to her son.

"HOLY CRAP!!" And out of his chair he did tumble, scrambling to his feet, with his tail fluffed up like a bottle brush. He panted, staring down at the spastic kitty-phone. "Great timing... Uncle Baxter you crazy old coot what the Hell are you doing?! Don't you think your a little old to be playing cat and mouse, old man?" Respect for his uncle? Yeah... That was obviously there... "You lost a few bolts sense last I saw you or have you finally lost all your marbles?!" Salem was obviously not at all pleased with his relative. He was a little too ecited to pay much heed to littl Aph's words.

Catherine's snort transformed into a eruption of laughter, this was all to funny. Her bemused smile became a grin a she took off her glasses to wipe away happy tears. " I love you guys."
Well... laughing a was a good sound right? Aphrodite blinked as her attention was taken towards the firefly-boy and the albino vampire squirell.. boy.. thing. "Ike!' she squeekd as she flew over towards Chao, Reid, Ike and Rabid. Dressed cutely in her little black cat jump suit.
As he was about to retort, he calmed himself hearing Catherine's laughter. Out all the people in the world, it was assumed that Catherine was the only one who could tame the once 'good' dark wizard turned cat.
Lemon was trembling behind Catherine leg. "Oh no.. oh no oh no." he wiggled.

He grumbled softly as he stood his chair back up, sitting himself down again. "What the Hell's wrong with you this time Uncle Bax...?" He was a lot calmer now that the surprise had worn off, but he still looked rather upset. He didn't leave the Home very often if it wasn't to go pick up new orphans and this was one of those few times! The last thing he needed was for it to be spoiled by a crabby cat relative... He couldn't see what was so funny either... Then again he hadn't noticed that his tail still looked like it had a life time's worth of static in it.

"Nothing is wrong with me, my paitence is spread thin" He sighed as he composed himself.
" Salem.." She grinned. "You're tail." She pointed at his tail stil smiling, she blinked a bit, turning her head to see that Aphrodite was head towards Chao and Reid. Her laughing settled to a small occasionaly giggle. "Baxterfullous.. can I ask you a favour?" She turned to the sleek cat.
"What is it?" He leapt from the floor landing in her lap, purring into her hand.
"Could you watch.. Aphrodite for during halloween? I might show up for the costume contest and I will be here for the pumpkin carving contest." she said explaining that she already submitted her pumpkin to Jabir and Maggie.
"Oh that's where that montrosciousity went." He sighed contemplating a bit. "And I suppose that you want me to go trick or treating with her too?" He sighed already knowing where this was heading. "I'll do it."

Malachi cringed and dropped his ladel, clapping his hands over his folded-back ears. Seeing Reid in pain, though, he leaned forward and gave his friend a hug. An eye for an eye, wasn't it?
Rabid laughed lightly, "Yeah, Chao, that sounds great." She watched the scene, amused.

"Glad you approve," Chao replied with a grin, focus back on her friend before flicking to the general chaos of the room.
Reid sniffed lightly, smiling lightly at his friend in thanks then rubbed at his ears, hoping to get the ringing to stop.

"My life is so damned normal," Rabid dropped back into her chair, "and I don't know how to take that."
Malachi patted Reid on the head and smiled sweetly, although he could hear NOTHING through the screech reverberating in his ears.

"It's probably a good thing. I mean, people seemsto wish for adventure and excitement and for weird things to happen so life won't be so normal anymore, and then it does and then they realize that normal is million of times better," Chao stated with a solmn nod.
"Unless it was weirdness like 'I just won the Gaian lottery and now I'm going to be rich for the rest of my life and that will make it unnormal', I imagin that's a good weird," she added after a moment.
Reid didn't both to try and shoo the other boys hand away from his head, he was begining to think that people just liked to pat his head and no matter the faces he made or his sounds of displeasure it was merely doomed to be patted. So he merely went on rubbing at his ears, though his third hand unlatched itself from his ladel and reached over to rub gently at Ike's nearest ear. The other boy's ears were so much bigger, and if the sound had hurt him with his normal sized ears it'd probably been much worse for Ike.

Aphrodite was closing in on Ike and Reid, flying towards them this time she flew onto the side of Ike's face and clung. "Ike!" She cooed, nuzzling. She was dressed in a little black cat jumpsuit, with an open back for her wings, a hole for her wasp butt, and a little hoddie with cat ears on top. On her cheeks were little black lines that resembled whisker. "Di kittie!"

Malachi twitched spazmodically at Reid's touch. What a weird feeling! When Di smacked into his head, he ducked.
"Di kih-eh," he nodded and shook his head; one eye closed.
"Yes, I suppose," Rabid smiled, "and I always have you guys to make it...unique."
Than added as an afterthought, "I could afford to win the lottery..."

Reid blinked at the new Mishap, peering at her curiously.
"Di kiit-eh?" he questioned, parroting Ike with a tilt of his head as he tried to get a better look at the wasp Mishap.
"I'm glad we're so useful. Though, you know, you also have a vampiric squirrel Mishap for a child," Chao pointed out, gesturing to said child, "I can't imagin he helps maintain the loverly thing known as normalacy."

"Ah," Ike nodded and smiled.
"I keep forgetting about that..." Rabid peered at her son and spoke dreamily, and then laughed, "My, my my...I'm a horrible person."
