knightofthe21stcentury Frantic Femme Fatale In general I really liked the special, especially the scene where the Doctor explains what happened to Jackson Lake. I wasn't thrilled by the appearance of a giant cyberking, but I just have to accept that on a show that children watch giant robots may show up once in a while. I can hardly wait to watch "Planet of the Dead"! sssshhhh! Spoilers! Anyway, I noticed a bit of a plot hole in the story. (Spoiler coming up). If these Cybermen are from alternate blimp London, then how could they know about the other Doctors? Surely it was only the Mondas Cybermen who knew about them? Also, I'm watching the beginning again on I Player, and the first cyberman bit is very old series creepy cyberman instead of new series stompy cyberman. I like it. _____________________________________________________ >>> <<<Well actually (answer in white text): They stole the technology and information from the Daleks, but how these Daleks (which were made during the Time War) know of the 9th and 10th Doctors (other than Doomsday). I guess it could be part Cyber info on 10, but still doesn't explain the post-Doomsday clips. 9th Doctor info is still a major plot hole! I thought the episode was brilliant, if it was made a little longer such as the last X-Mas Special, all RTDs ideas would have been perfectly plotted, and not feel so rushed, apart from the Cyberking, which I thought was interesting, a bit farfetched, but kewl nonetheless!

It was generally enjoyable, and I liked it. Sure, giant cyberman robot was cheesy, but eh, I've come to expect cheese from Who. It makes cheese good. XD
One part that I LOVED was when they showed all the previous Doctors. It's always nice to see a salute to Old!Who.
Also, when the two "Doctors" were laughing their butts off after they got released from the rope, at the start. And then the Doctor being all "No, don't tell me how [the regeneration] happened!", and hoped he didn't just trip over a brick.

Also, Daleks were trapped in the void as well so what happened to them? _____________________________________________________ >>> <<<

Anyhoo since we've all seemed to abandon the white text: Due to Davros' Reality Bomb, the void perished along with the Daleks and Cybers, although the Cybers lived, so that may be one way to bring back the Daleks (back to hybrids and scavangers and madness!) either that or Davros lives to create a NEW new Dalek Empire, the like millionth since the original, so the new, new, new, new, new, new... rolleyes The Dimension Vault and possibly most of the Cyber information bank were stolen from the Daleks. Everything else is Cyber

Nobody seems to be going near the final resoution that made NO kind of sense whatsoever. The Doctor just sort of used magic and everything was better. I still don't get why the archvillainess went mental and exploded along with everything else. The whole episode had been playing up the fact she WANTED that kind of power. Suddenly she's all emo about it despite having the strength of mind to conquer a supercomputer. WHAT WAS THAT ALL ABOUT EH???? D:
Oh and maybe it's just me but why didn't the doctor and Jackson just unload on the Cybermen with that seemingly everlasting pile of info-scanner-whatsits? It's not like they could have put up a fight. Serves them right for walking around with the sort of technology that SOMEHOW MAGICALLY KILLS THEM. Oh yes. Bah humbug if you hadn't noticed :/

Sadly, you are right.... the problems got solved just too easily. I would have expected more... especially in a longer episode.... I hope the next special is better. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the sonic screwdriver part (How is it sonic? - It makes a noise xD) as well!

I thought it was a cute episode, though the boa-clad Cybersheets or whatever the hell they were called were a bit too camp for my tastes.
And the kid with the eyelashes. -shiver-

Well, I just watched it last night... How, I won't say... ninja But I agree with most of the people here about the cyber-voltron thingy... Heheh. It got one heck of an eyebrow raising from me, that's for sure. Overall, I though it was pretty good, though. Not the best ever, but it served its purpose of being entertaining! Well, more than just that. I did like it.
Spoilers: I loved Jackson's "Tardis" and what it stood for. I can't even remember all of it, but it was great! Tethered something something designed in style, or something like that. And for some reason, it made me go all steampunk-nerd-face over it. XD Travelling through time and space in a hot air balloon. Awesome! If I could write worth beans I would totally steal that idea to make a story of my own.

Having just watched it for a second time I can safely say I think I know where it all goes wrong. Up until the big revelation with Jackson it's as fine as Doctor Who's ever been. Then it's like they suddenly switch to a whole different story where logic and considered thought need not apply and rush it all into a dodgy climax.
A shame his oddly mute child didn't get killed off, though. That would have been the perfect excuse to have him and Rosita join up as companions, which would have been immense.
Overall I like it better for a second watching, but still don't have the faintest idea how half of it was supposed to work :/
And come on. Jackson would have *known* that wasn't a proper TARDIS >.>

I think the TARDIS was a bigger mistake to make because the screw drivers are roughly the same shape. I felt like it would have made a much better 2 part episode. The ending was nice, but I miss the robot Santas that make me laugh every year. I think that it had more potential then it gave itself time for. For USA viewers like me I recommend watchdoctorwho.org I think it's legal.

Personally im getting a little sick of Cybermen, there is an entire universe (sometimes even two!) surely there must be more baddies to battle than just Cybers and Daleks gonk Plus if that was going to be the new doctor i'd..i dunno what i'd do but it would involve a rampage of sorts and i'd consider not watching but instead i would watch it grudgingly and make snarky comments the whole time. xd But im a typical fickle/rabid fan, i said the same thing with Martha and Donna and i loved Donna after her first episode, Martha not so much...
I want the Sontarans back again i loved those pompous potato heads, they where hilarious.
