Personally...I think slight chubbiness and somewhat short is...cute for sweet lolita. But yes, it all depends on what kinda lolita. Elegant Gothic Lolita would look best if the person were tall and with an hourglass figure, but thats only my opinion.

I'm really short....4'11....so i cant really say i understand but i think tall lolitas are also pretty
same height as me. although i have... mildly large breasts... >.>

I havent started yet.. I really want to but I have no courage to be even more "different" than I already am..

-C'est la lune qui conduit la danse...-

I have an hourglass-shape figure as well; but I'm not really concerned about it. I'm really proud of my breasts, so I would wear something that would not hide their size, but not be revealing.
sweatdrop Can't really explain it. I guess I like Classical and Casual lolita because it seems that they can show that I am a young woman but still a bit immature when it comes to my personality, but not really a cutesy little girl like Sweet Lolita kinda does.

...Man, I can't word my feelings about it correctly. gonk

My butt however.... sweatdrop Genes suck.

Well I understand how you feel seeing all those model Lolitas. But we, the Japanese, started the fashion, I do not think we had any idea that it would spread to other countries. =/

And we are pretty much homogenous.. O.0 Yes, I am one of those "small" girls. But I think the fashion be great for anyone! Just as long as they do not damage it. ^-^

i love fashion in general and so many other styles are portrayed only by super tall models so i know how you feel. I think the reason (aside from oriental stature) so many of the models are short is to contribute to the doll or childlike appearnance of lolis. however, as with all other fashions anyone can pull it off as long as they modify it to fit their body type and personal style. don't think about you fitting a style, try a few fits and make the style work for you

I don't think it matters if your tall or short. I think anyone could pull off the lolita look~

I'm 5'2, and I have a rather small figure, so I tend to fit into asian clothing fairly easily.

But, I think like other people said on the first page, that anyone can pull off a lolita style if they try. ^^

Shining with HAPPY!!

Every time i see a loli model, she's short and skinny (probably partially from the japanese influence). This rather bugs me, considering i'm 5'11'' and have quite the hourglass figure. It seems that the whole fashion is mostly for the smaller, more petite girls- and i'm not just talking about sizes in stores.

Spoon-feed:
-Do you generally think of loli's as short?
-Should all loli's be rail-thin or petite?
-If you see a tall loli, does it seem odd to you?

i dont think it matters much about size as much as it matters about finding cuts and styles that flatter your body. when i wear my boots , im 6'3" and that doesnt stop me from wearing anything vaguely lolita. the only problem i have is finding long enough skirts for when i try to look EGA. although i love EGL and sweet loli stuff, its easier for me to pull off EGA and kodona.

Same. I don't usually wear heals though. I hate when a skirt is long enough on my friends, but when I borrow it I look slutty. Not fun if thats not what your going for.

short lolitas because brands are usually anti-fat and anti-tall. So i suffer from both things and it sucks.

I've always wished to be shorter because when a girl is short, she looks cute and more child-like. I'm 5'9" which is kind of tall for a girl and I weigh like, 110 pounds so it's nearly impossible for me to fit into anything. I need XS tops -- sometimes even XXS except I can rarely buy long sleeve t-shirts because the really small ones that fit my chest have shorter sleeves and I'm tall and lanky.

I would not be able to buy any lolita clothes from any Japanese designers, unfortunately. There is no doubt in my mind that they would all be far too short.

Yay! me too ^^ *high fives* I'm around 5'9 last time I checked and I can't find clothes to fit me >< Making your own clothes really helps ^^

i have a friend who is really beautiful in lolita. and she is tall...it is a bit...odd...but i think only because i never see it.
but also, the style of the dresses and skirts; when you're short they come to about your knees but when you're tall you lose some of that and can kinda look like a whore. she has a lot of lace hang down from her dress to add length because they are always too short.
i think it's mainly short people because (my opinion), but you're supposed to be cute and adorable. and when we think of adorable girl we think of little girls in lace.

I dont think it matters how tall you are. You can make yourself shorter or taller its just how your body grows.
Im asian so Im short. I think Im only about 5'4" and I wish I would stay this way for a little bit longer because Im out of proportion anyways. @___@ only from my bust out to my arms and fingers are Im only tiny. everything else seems about right for me.
Weird? yes I know but its the development of the body it grows at different rates and everyone should just accept it at some point in life. @__@

It's true! ^_^ *Is 5'2"* I am told all the time I look *and act* very childish. But, it's hard to maintain a good figuire. My friends are all taller than me and I weigh less than them, yet, they're model-thin and I'm short and not as thin as I used to be. I'm average so I shouldn't complain, but I miss being so thin. Anyways, size shouldn't matter as long as you look AND feel good. This sounds mean, but I prefer average and thin Lolita's as opposed to...heavier(?) ones. *Please don't kill me!* It's just, I hate going out and seeing really big girls dressed in Lolita hanging out with skinny girls who're dressed in jeans and tank tops thinking they look so adorable when they look a mess. *slowly backs away to avoid being punched by anyone who's offended*

take into account that us "heavier" ones may not be this way out of choice...
then again i guess most people are used to seeing the brainwashing ads from the media so its not really your fault..

sweatdrop I'm just giving my openion. Not trying to insult anyone, here! I know it's not people's "choice" to be that way, but it is their choice to go out in super tight Loli clothing that look horrible on them. If you're a "heavier" Loli, I say there's nothing wrong as long as you don't look horrible. Loli is all about appearance and if it's trashy, it's not Loli. But, yes, those adds can be mind-numbing.
