Kaiden barely noticed the look he got from Flutter as she was taken out onto the dance floor. He didn't know her name, or really why she looked at him the way that she did. It was almost like she was worried he was going to do something that might harm the others... with that thought Kaiden looked down at the necklace he had in his hand. Did she think this 'thing' was dangures to others? That was a bit humerous when he thought about it. The necklace that sealed what he was being a dangure to those around him? That was wasn't very likely and yet he knew she probebly had no idea that the necklace did that so he didn't have much room to think badly about what she was thinking.

Kaiden nearly jumped at the sound of a voice next to him. Kaiden managed to keep himself calm as he turned his head to look at whoever it was speaking to him. By the time Kaiden had turned to look at Jack, Jack had already turned to look at Raven. Now that Kaiden understood Jack's comment he frowned lightly. Had Kaiden seen Jack before? It had only been a few days and yet he was pretty sure he had seen this guy before. "Yes, you might have seen me there. I actually think I've seen you before as well..." Kaiden paused for a moment as he thought about what he had just said. He did not know this mans name and yet he was sure they had met before. Mabye it had been one of the poeple who Kaiden had ran into and didn't learn there name. That list seemed to be growing everyday.

"My name is Kaiden, and yours? It was a pretty straight forward question really as Kaiden didn't feel like talking with formalities. They were in a club of some sorts after all so Kaiden wasn't concerned with even trying to sound formal. That was a bit of a down fall for him, Kaiden was rarely formal. This was no diffrent as he had practically just met Jack and he didn't know the mans name.

"I'm Jack!" The redhead smiled, extending a hand. Getting a closer look, yep, he had seen him. And chances are he had seen Jack, though he was often easy to mistake for a normal library patron. Until you got to know him. Then it was quite clear he was more than a little unusual. "I live in the library too. Sort of. I live here too really, but I spend a lot of time over there with Guyy and Raven. This is my club." He cheerfully waved a hand around.

Jack was not the sort of person one required formalities with. That much was obvious. He was a bundle of cheerful energy, and half the time it seemed like he had ADD. Even now his emerald eyes would scan the dancefloor, watch the dancers with amusement for a while, admire his friends as they moved together, linger on Raven at the decks and then finally flicker back to Kaiden. He took him in swiftly, marking out interesting points about him.

He went still for a moment. Truth be told he was listening to something, something no one else could hear. His feminine lips twitched into a smile briefly. His head tilted curiously, having taken in a little information in ways that were not obvious. Astrossa had noticed the pendant and had nudged Jack about it.
"So, you're part of the clan. What are you?" he asked. It was an odd question for most people to ask, but Jack tended to get right to the point.

Kaiden had a feeling he didn't like this man. Jack was far to happy go lucky for Kaiden, and energetic. Kaiden wasn't all that interested in continueing this converstaion with this man after Kaiden learned Jacks name and that Jack was part of the library. Kaiden was about to push away from the bar and walk away before he felt something off with Jack. Kaiden turned his eyes back to Jack as Jack went still. Kaiden watched Jack for a moment before relizing that Jack seeming to be listening to something. Kaiden raised an eyebrow at the man before he heard what Jack had to say. 'What are you?' What kind of question was that? Kaiden wasn't sure if Jack knew Kaiden wasn't human, but it appeared to be so.

"What am I?" Kaiden asked, but there really was no hint of confusion in Kaiden's voice. It was apparent that Kaiden had a pretty good idea of what Jack was talking about. Kaiden gave a brief laugh before shaking his head lightly. "What do you think I am?" There was the important question. Kaiden wanted to know if Jack had any idea of the fact that Kaiden wasn't human. If Jack did know then Kaiden wanted to know how. With the black bandage covering his right eye it would be hard for Jack to notice the only thing inhuman about him that would be possible to notice by normal means without an ability to see the seal on the necklace. Kaiden didn't have the necklace out though so that was nearly impossible for Jack to know that way.

Jack was certainly well described as happy-go-lucky. That was the little redhead down to a tee. He smiled at Kaiden cheerfully as the other man turned back towards him to address him once more. Oh, he didn't sound too happy that Jack and Astrossa had picked up on his uniqueness. All the same, Jack was curious now. He shrugged a little, not dropping his cheerful expression.

"If I knew what you were, I would have said that instead. I'm having to ask because I can't tell that easily. All I know is you're not like 90% of the people dancing around us. And seeing as you're part of the library that leads me to draw the conclusion that you're either a remarkable human... or not human at all." He tilted his head just slightly in curiousness. "Like me."

He leaned back against the bar and wondered whether the man was going to answer or whether he was just going to walk away. He wouldn't be too surprised at either really. Some people enjoyed talking about themselves. Others were much more private about their talents. His eyes flickered to Raven once more briefly, unable to avoid looking at him for too long when he was in the room. And how long had Jack himself hidden what he was? Too long. Far too long to be ashamed of himself.

So either the man didn't take the idea that Kaiden wasn't really amused with the question, or he didn't care. Kaiden didn't really care which it was as the man's own words had caught Kaiden's attention. Jack obviously knew Kaiden wasn't normal, so what was the point in hiding anymore? Kaiden let out a light sigh as he reached up to the black bandage at his right eye before pulling it down do that the elastic bands made it almost look like a strange necklace around his neck. Kaiden opened his yellow, almost cat like, eye as he looked at Jack. The change in the brightness of the room bothered Kaiden for a moment before his left eye grow used to working similiar with his right.

"Your guess is right, I'm not human. The right eye is the only thing that gives it away, and at that it's hard to tell. I'm what you might call a cat demon, otherwise known to alot of people as a neko. You mind explaining how you noticed what I was, and for that matter what you are?" Kaiden's voice was enough warning that he didn't like talking about what he was. It was hard and cold. Kaiden hated talking about himself, and for that matter what he was. The only reason he had said anything was becuase he was curious as to what Jack was that he was able to tell that Kaiden wasn't human.

Jack watched with obvious interest as the man lowered the bandage, revealing an eye starkly different to it's partner. Feline, golden. Quite nice actually, he decided. And the redhead was definitely more on the didn't care side of the fence. Everything would be fine if he just stayed cheerful.

"Oh! I've never met a real neko. Not that I was aware of anyway." Jack laughed quietly. He glanced over the man, but didn't notice any further signs of a feline background. There may be more he could not see or sense. "I noticed because Astrossa noticed. Sometimes she does. She says it's something to do with my brain and the way it works. Psychic or something." Jack shrugged. He did have his own talents without her, but have never explored them. And they were very minor. But her power enhanced them when she felt like it.

"It also helps that Guyy has an interest in you. And he seems to have a sense for these things whether he knows it or not. If you look at the clan, even the ones that seem entirely human turn out not to be. It's like he collects the talented outcasts of Gaia or something. And that makes me draw the conclusion you're an outcast with a talent. Therefore, unique." he smiled, summing up happily. Guyy did seem to draw the magical and supernatural waifs and strays to the library somehow, and Jack would not be surprised if it turned out to be his connection with Mother Gaia herself. Maybe she sent them to him.

"Me?" he giggled. He glanced around and raised his hand, reaching out to touch the neko gently. Kaiden would feel the temperature rise around his fingers. "I'm bound to a phoenix." He smiled, finally happy with his fate.

The set was nearly finished and a smug grin crossed Raven's face, he was going out with a different sort of an exit tonight one that would definitely draw attention, he wondered if Jack would frown at it. In that case it would be a first and last sort of exit the blond of this kind. He could see the last man on for the night beginning to make his way to the dj station through the large crowd.

Alright! He silently cheered throwing down a final track and getting ready to pass up his stage.
PostPosted: Sun Aug 02, 2009 4:21 pm

Jack was oblivious to Raven's plans, though it was unlikely that anything the DJ did would upset him greatly. He just could not be mad at that man, no matter how hard he tried. Not that he ever really tried. Why would he? He adored that man far too much to think about being mad at him. Chances are whatever he had up his sleeve might even make the club owner giggle.

Movement near the DJ booth caught his eye for a moment. Little Jack actually got a little excited. It was almost time for the DJs to switch places. That meant Raven would be free to drink, dance and play. He hoped all three. He turned his attention back to his conversation partner, smiling.

KA-BANG!

Instant smoke from the dj stage poured into the air and in moments and a flurry of feathers a loud cawing swept over the crowd as a pitch black bird flew overhead to astonished faces that lit up and cheered for the 'magic show.'

Raven laughed to himself as he 'disappeared' from the stage and the bird took his place put on a show for the people and flew out of the area, and up the stairs to his room, he circled in there for a moment, landed on the floor and returned to himself, going to his window over the dance floor and watching as the smoke cleared for the new dj. More specifically... he was looking for..

ah ha... there was Jack. Raven smirked and chuckled softly watching the red head for a moment before closing his door and wandering into his room to get changed. He wasn't liking how the leather suit was sticking to his body after being in the lights for so long. He'd shower quickly before returning downstairs for a drink.

Kaiden frowned lightly at the interest he saw in Jack's eyes. Kaiden was not excited to have Jack's intrest focused on the fact that Kaiden was inhuman. It did not make matters any better that Jack's words had sounded excited at figuring out what Kaiden was which just made this situation all the more uncomfortable for Kaiden. The urge to just walk away from Jack was growing every secound, and yet Kaiden's obvious lack of knowlege about the library was what kept him interested in this conversation at all. The only releif Kaiden saw from Jack was Jack looking at who Kaiden assumed was a friend of Jack. This was all the proof that Kaiden knew nothing about Jack and Raven besides that neither of the were clearly normal.

"I'm happy your excited to meet something like me, but really it's nothing special" Kaiden mummbled as he looked down at where Jack's hand had been a moment ago. The heat that had been there had caught Kaiden's attention, which of course raised a whole string of questions that Kaiden didn't ask. Kaiden watched as Jack looked back at him before shaking his head lightly before a small smile crept onto his expression while he wasn't keeping his expression emotionless. Kaiden cleared it quickly before he started to speak agian.

"I beleive that is right. I'm asuming that Astrossa is a phoenix, and that explains the heat." Kaiden said with a light shrug before the scene that unfolded by Raven. Kaiden watched with mild intrest before relizing what was happening. He was forced to close his left eye to keep up with the speed, but he could see what was going on much better this way. When Raven was gone Kaiden let his left eye open agian as he looked back at Jack. Relization finally came to Kaiden that Jack had no proof behind the eye that Kaiden was in fact a neko, and becuase of this Kaiden pulled out the necklace he wore. The strange ruin shaped thing had alot of markings with a marking similair to a fire in the middle. It was in fact not really symbolizing fire, but it was how he liked to explain it.

"Before you ask any questions about why I look human this here is the reason. It's a seal that keeps me human with the exception to my right eye." That was all the explination Kaiden felt like explaining if Jack wasn't going to push it. It would take too much explaining to try to explain if Jack didn't care enough, and Kaiden really didn't like explaining the seal as he understood little about it himself.

"That's right!" Jack nodded enthusiastically as Kaiden caught up on his own circumstances. "Astrossa and I are pretty much a package. It means I can do some very interesting things, and she gets to... well I'm really not sure what she gets out of our relationship. She won't tell me. Not like we can split up anyway." Jack shrugged. Though he could sense the phoenix's amusement. She was getting what she wanted from Jack, perhaps the only reason she hadn't simply killed him and freed herself. She had actually felt sorry for him as a boy forced into their bind, and had grown almost motherly over the man over time.

"And don't be so hard on yourself. You're far more special than most people. I tried not to be, but it's better just to accept it and make the best of...OH!" He hands shot to his lips, eyes wide as there was a large bang and flash from the DJ booth. There was genuine terror in his emerald eyes.

Jack's biggest phobia was explosions and loud, unexpected noises.

No harm though as his terror turned to relief at the sight of the unharmed raven wheeling across the ceiling. And then shock. How could he do that?! That was so dangerous, to show off his talents in public like that, even if most people thought it was no more than a clever magic trick ending in the release of the DJ's namesake. As the raven darted overhead their eyes met, Jack still looking completely shocked.

And then he burst into laughter as the bird flew away upstairs. Jack knew he's be heading back to his apartment.
"Oh, I'm sorry. I have to go give one of my staff a severe telling off. Drinks are on the house for you though." He reached out, fingers touching Kaiden's arm as he laughed in a light and friendly touch. "We'll continue our conversation later, yeah?" he grinned charmingly and waved at the man before running across the dancefloor and taking the stairs two at a time. He burst into Raven's room.

"Raven! What are you playing at?!" He called sternly. He was doing a good job of hiding his amusement.

Raven was in his room, not the main apartment when Jack burst in, he had a white towel around his shoulders still damp from his quick cool shower. Deftly he swung the cloth and hitched it around his hips, the blond smiled though, Jack didn't sound happy. For some reason it was funny.

"I'm in here Jack. You may come in." He called as he fished in his closet.

Jack heard Raven's voice from his bedroom and he stormed through before he was invited. Raven was wearing nothing but a towel, dripping wetly from his shower. That was a little distracting, and the redhead faltered just for a moment before continuing and moving to face the man. He crossed his arms in front of his own chest and glared at the DJ.

"What on Gaia were you thinking?!" He told him off, emerald eyes locking with the taller man's turquoises. "You could have been seen! You could have gotten hurt! Who gave you permission to use pyrotechnics?!" Jack raised on of his hands, wagging a finger at the blond. He really was upset and worried about him. And he didn't like admitting that the bang had frightened him.

But it was awfully hard to stay angry when Raven was looking down at him like that. Especially when he remembered the only thing between them was a towel. And he could never stay angry at the DJ for long.
"I ought to suspend you for that!"
PostPosted: Mon Aug 03, 2009 7:00 am

"So suspend me." Raven quipped and shrugged his shoulders, "Because that would be great for business. And word of that stunt will bring more crowds in for more." the blond knew he was the best the Den had and would suffer for such a rash decision. "Sometimes one must take risks."

He was such a rebel. He padded right up to Jack and gazed down on the flustered man, and cheekily... planted a kiss on his forehead and went back to his closet. "Nice to know you care." he smirked as he pulled a blue silk top from his closet and pulled it on not bothering to close it up showing off his ripped abs. Black leather pants were next, going commando under them, he stepped into them and hitched them in place before stepping into his rounded steel toe boots.

"Now let's go have a drink."

Jack hated it when Raven was right about things like this. And he was right about it this time. The little redhead was quite frustrated. For more than one reason at the moment.
"What if we had enemies in the crowd?! They could have realised what you were and attacked. I don't want.." he was cut off by a light kiss on his forehead that caused his cheeks to flush a little.

"Of course I care. It's scary when you take risks like that." He sighed softly. "It was pretty brilliant though."

He tilted his head, trying to sneak a peek as the blond wriggled into his tight leather pants commando style. Oh, they were a perfect choice. He took a deep breath as the other man climbed into his boots, the motion causing the material to stretch over tight muscles...

Back to the matter at hand, Jack.

He crossed over the room and tugged at the silk shirt, enjoying the light material beneath his fingertips as he pretended to straighten the clothing and pat it down. Must have his staff looking their best, after all.
"Just promise me you'll warn me in future if you plan on using explosions for any stunts, okay?" he asked softly, a little hint of a shake in his voice.

"And you'll be paying for one of my drinks for that. You know fine well I can't suspend you."
