It had appeared that Sakura and Ichigo were going to become a rather interesting group to be working with. It was good to see that people were working so well together.

Sakura and Ichigo.

And now Madison and Katie.

"Come on Katie! Let's get moving!" The rabbit darted out the door and twirled on her heel so she would be facing Katie as she left. She still didn't see what was entirely wrong with this place, considering that it appeared to be a rather peaceful town. However, she was naive which could lead to her greatest down fall.

Madison looked both ways trying decide which way to go, she soon discovered that Ichigo and Sakura seemed to be wandering one way, so it was safe to say that they should move the other way. It sounded like a good idea, a very good idea indeed.

"Katieeeeeee!" She sounded somewhat like a whiny child, but Madison had no patience. She tapped the toe of her boot to the group in a repeated manner. It was time to move, before the town had decided to close up entirely.

The Amazon was right behind the rabbit when she called out all child-like. It made Katie raise an eyebrow.

"I'm standing right behind you."

She could see that Madison was not the very patient type. Well, Katie was calm, take things cool type. She wanted to make sure they didn't go running right into a disaster, which meant taking their time and investigating thoroughly.

Without another word Katie started off, getting in front of Madison.

"Well, come on then."

She started towards the opposite way that Sakura and Ichigo headed. It was good to break the search up.

It was about that time she got a beep from the two-way. She grabbed the communication device, pressing the talk button.

"I hope things are fine."

She didn't put the communication device away yet, just in case Quinn responded.

"GUYS! MADISON! KATIE!"

Tip tap tip tap tip tap...

"Heeeyyyyy!"

Asherah ran towards the girls, her arms waving to get their attention. As she neared them, she slowed from a trot, to a walk, to a stop.

"Sorry I took so long, I was trying to find a bathroom." Asherah fixed her bag on her shoulder.

"Pipee you hungry boy?"

"Aroo!" Clumsily flying over to Ash, he nestled himself on the top of her head, awaiting his dindin.

Reaching in a back pocket of the bag, Asherah pulled out two little blocks of an unknown food and placed it up where Pipee was.

"Arooo!!!!" Pipee wagged his tail happily and dug in.
Munch munch munch...

"Hey....Hey, over here!"

As the girls walked in, sans Sakura and Ichigo, they'd find a slightly suspicious looking person beckoning them over to one of the corners of the inn, almost instantly, almost...as if he'd been expecting them.

Swathed in darkness he sat in one of the big cushy reception chairs quite comfortably. In fact, he was rather sprawled over the chair itself, one leg crossed over the other.

~~~
Sakura and Ichigo would find themselves immersed in the crowds that were generally heading home for bed, leaving darkness closing in for another day. A few unlikely attendants were trying to haggle and make trade, and after a few unfriendly answers to quite friendly questions, the two would probably feel as though they were put through a waste of their time...
"Hey! Hiya..." A tall figure stood up against one of the walls, tossing something up in the air, then catching it again. He looked vaugly suspicious, quite similar to the person that had been chased by police for murder earlier. But it was up to the two to decide what they'd do with him.
~~~

There was a cry from the other side of the bushes, loud enough to set both men's hearts going. It sounded like a child, lost, scared, lonely....Quin and Stephen may have stumbled on the first of the children.

Immediately, Quinn dropped the rifle. He pushed through the bushes, looking around for the kid, worried he might have frightened the child with the gunshots.

It's a safe assumption that the girls didn't get away from the Inn like they had intended.

A deep voice called out to them. Katie turned around to see a figure lounging around in the reception chairs. He sat in a dark corner, well hidden, which would explain why she hadn't noticed him until this point.

Any person that sat in the shadows always raised a concern or awareness with Katie.

She'd stroll towards him, but she kept a certain distance between them.

"Can we help you?"

Even with a distance still between them she was now close enough to make out certain things of the man. She was inspecting the dark corner, scrutinizing the man before them.

"Hellooooooo?" Madison called back at him. Katie seemed to taking the lead on this one, and the rabbit followed behind. She was being rather cautious as they inched up to the man that was hidden.

Finally she moved from behind Katie, and stood beside her with her hands on her hips. She was now ready for anything, whether it be a fight or a simply howdy. She was ready.

Pippe looked up from his small feast and sneezed at the man. Little crumbs stuck to his fur.

"Pfft!"

"Did you wanna talk to us or sumthin'?"

Asherah shifted the bag to her other shoulder as she cocked her hip. Her eyebrows were furrowed, her lips slightly curled in a disturbed manner.

"Well?"

"Rrrr..."

Stephen turned as Quinn dropped his weapon and ran off into the bushes, doing a wonderful job of making himself all the more vulnerable and giving away his position big time. Did this guy really have the military experience he claimed? Stephen expected that he himself would crack and do stuff like that long before Quinn would. With something so big and dangerous in the vicinity, whatever it was, one wrong move could be fatal.

He hoped that Quinn found a child so that they could get out of there in one mostly uneventful piece, but odds were that wasn't going to happen.

"Hurrk---H-HEY!"

Ichigo was caught off guard by Sakura's sudden yanking. Moreover...where the hell did she get Stra---...oh wait. Nevermind. The mere thought of it had him thinking of another green-haired girl who also played upon the Japanese homonym that was his first name.

He soon wrestled his arm from her grip, adjusting himself and his jacket. "Ya don't have to drag me along like that," said Ichigo, "I know how to walk, damnit." It was a much calmer "damnit" than one would expect after being dragged like a child. It was most likely since he was used to that sort of treatment from Rukia.

As they headed in the direction Sakura had dragged him towards, he looked at the passersby on their way to their rooms. Seemed as if there were quite a few people staying at this place. Not that it was very hard to believe. There seemed to be enough hubub amongst the attendants (unless they're referring to us ><) that there wouldn't be much of a problem getting by. It at least made them blend--

"Hey! Hiya..."

Well, scratch that thought.

Is that guy talking to us?

Ichigo wasn't quite sure, but the tall figure wasn't giving him any good feelings. On the other hand, he wasn't getting a heavy negative vibe off of him either. But what did he want?

Pocket/Mads/Ash:

"Hiya! Wow, took you guys a lot less time to get here then I estimated."

He pulled himself up, his jacket and hood doing a heck of a job doing the one thing that would probably disturb Katie, or anyone else that tried to look too close. The darkness actually seemed to move about him, instead of the other way around.

A hand came out from one of the sleeves, unarmed and friendly.

"Welcome to Reen, ladies, I've been sent to meet you. And to pass along a gift."

The darkness was grinning, along with the voice.

What was all this? How did he know they'd be coming there at all!?

And more importantly, could they trust him?

Stephen/Quinn:

Both Stephen and Quinn would find themselves breaking into a clearing. But instead of an enormous, and probably rather bullet riddled monster over the child, they'd find just an ordinary guardsman, whole and unharmed, trying to stop a small girl from screaming.

He didn't seem too calm himself, in fact, the man was shaking and white as a ghost, but still he seemed intent on getting the small child to be quiet. Finally, he brought out a packet of sweets, just in time to meet Quinn's eyes with his own fearful ones.

"Y-you're human! But you aren't the normal patrol! Why are you out here?"

Quinn had pulled out his pistol somewhere inbetween, expecting close quarters combat instead of a cowering guard holding a child.

"Oh, uh."

Stopping for a moment, he looked around back and forth through the clearing and in between the trees just to make sure there was nothing charging out. That was sort of a let down! Of course, he wouldn't want to fight an Orc/Ork(s/s) if he didn't have to.

He paused to scratch his head.

"I believe the answer to your question is 'you' are why we are out here. Is there anyone else with you? I expected more than two by the gate guards' description of this little errand."
PostPosted: Fri Sep 26, 2008 12:43 pm

Stephen, who was still back in the clearing with his revolver aimed over towards the bushes where Quinn had foolishly charged, listened as much as he could to pick up what scraps of conversation were going on.

"What is it, Quinn? You find the missing people?" he shouted over, presuming that if something was indeed in the area that they already knew they were there because of Quinn's previous actions.

From the fact that he didn't hear any ripping flesh or other monstrous noises, he presumed as much. Either way, he held his position.

Things just seemed a little too fishy for his taste.

Katie could see the two other women to each side of her, but she kept her eyes on the man and the darkness around him. It disturbed her greatly to watch the darkness move around him. She couldn't see the man clearly no matter how hard she strained.

"Who the hell are you?"

The blunt Amazon woman asked. His hand came out, and she didn't acknowledge it right away, and even when she did she never would offer her hand. She was wondering what the man was up to. Would she grab his hand and get yanked into the darkness? Maybe, who knew? There was one thing about Katie though, she didn't like the unknown, and darkness moving around a man qualified as unknown territory for her.

"Who sent you? What gift?"

There were a lot of questions that needed answered before Katie could trust him, even once they were answered she probably wouldn't trust him. She could almost guarantee that the women at each side of her didn't comprise trust for the man either.
